IMO, a high-partner count is a red flag, but not a deal-breaker.

A high-partner count, combined with poor impulse control, immaturity, or any type of crazy behaviour is a deal-breaker (although, those qualities would be deal-breakers in and of themselves).

What would over-come an HPC (in terms of long term prospect) is many signals of loyalty, honesty and a sense that she is totally into me.

j/k - I couldn't really say. I mean, there's probably going to be some normal distribution, with guys who don't care at all, to guys whom it's an absolute deal-breaker.

I suspect guys in the thick part of that curve are going to get a slightly queezy feeling in their stomach when they hear about your past. This is the same queezy feeling they get when their wife goes to Vegas for the weekend with their single and divorced girlfriends, if you see what I mean. Most men will try to hide this, because our society considers expressions of jealousy to be signals of low-value.

This is where you can build a lot of trust, actually, because you can encourage him to express himself, listen empathetically, and accept the consequences by giving him the choice.

I'm only putting myself in that position as a hypothetical, but I think that's what I'd want to have happen.

She can be redeemed in that she can move into an entirely new place and nobody'll know she's a "slut". She can't in that she already knows she is and her lying about it won't change the facts.

You wouldn't but there are plenty of women who will. All that sex-positivity yet they don't have the guts to give their real number - not that a man would wanna know anyway.

Highly doubtful. A man who respects himself isn't going to want to get into a LTR with a woman who has slept with a lot of other men. Also, studies have shown that women who were sluts have a harder time forming emotional attachments in a LTR, and sluts are more likely to cheat in a LTR.
