Concern and concealed sound similar for a reason, concern is normally a concealment of a deeper psychological agenda.

Types of concern:

  • Sincere - Care about a person/topic on a passionate, personal level and want to demonstrate this by giving input in hopes of rectifying a perceivably negative element. EG: Please give up smoking I don't want you to get cancer. This concern often stems from an emotional component often reactionary in nature and is not pre-meditated machiavellianism, it is the only "legitimate" form of concern, the rest are all machiavellian devices. Lots of emotion, typically low manipulation.

  • Guise for jealousy - Jealous of the target, say you want to bang a pretty girl you know but she's not into you, you pretend you're concerned about her slutting up and leading a "party lifestyle", but really you give no fucks at all about her well-being you're just jealous you're not one of the guys she's slutting it up with so you hit with the beta game.. your concern comes from nowhere but a place of jealousy, aww you cute little friend zoned beta bitch. Lots of emotion, some manipulation.

  • Guise for bragging - Saying you care but then using that as a platform to demonstrate your own superiority, narcissistic demonstration of high value EG: "oh you shouldn't be eating that much it's bad for your health! Mind you, I eat a lot and I never put any weight on!" Some emotion, some manipulation.

  • Guise for sabotage/befriending - Pretending you share an idea or opinion or a component of it and then using that as a "foot in the door" so that you're somewhat accepted although in honesty you are a spy with an ulterior agenda, your agenda is to gather information and utilise it as "dirt" or "proof" to blackmail/use against someone later on or simply to infiltrate a group or social circle as a "mole" for reasons of personal gain or exposure. Sabotage can have many reasons but it is inherently the most dishonest and machiavellian form of concern here, down to its very core. Little emotion, full manipulation.

Some food for thought for you all however, out of all the different reasons for why "concern" can be utilised, on the internet, an impersonal desensitised place, rarely will you find concern of the sincere kind. One must assess the motives behind a concern and see if there is any credibility behind the notion to discern if the concern is in fact, sincere.
