As a non american could someone please explain to me what on earth the sex life of students has to do with universities. Where i live if a girl is raped she goes to the police. Its got nothing to do with any university she happens to be at or for that matter any employer she might be working for. Its a purely legal matter.

It doesn't. But universities are centers of liberal thought in American. Translation, they have a hard on for feminism.

I can't say for sure, but I imagine there's also some liability to the university if something were to actually happen in terms of rape. I remember there was a big scandal a couple years ago involving sexual assault and some Duke lacrosse players. No school wants that kind of press even if it doesn't directly effect them.

And I guess part of it is looking at students still as kids that need to be coddled and guided in the right direction.

Oh, it gets better.

If you get accused of anything on campus, the only competent legal strategy is to STFU. You can't defend because anything you say can be used against you in criminal proceedings. So you get sent into a university trial where you can't speak and your lawyer can't attend.

Welcome to justice!

Some highlights and analysis:

Defining consensual sex is a growing trend by universities in an effort to do more to protect victims. From the University of California system to Yale, schools have been adopting standards to distinguish when consent was given for a sexual activity and when it was not.

Feminist influence continues to grow

Silence or lack of resistance does not constitute consent. The legislation says it's also not consent if the person is drunk, drugged, unconscious or asleep.

So now even if she lets you have sex with her, that doesn't count as consent. She must literally utter the magic words so that you can part her legs. And apparently she must be sober in order to do so, since people under the influence are not responsible for their actions.

Lawmakers say consent can be nonverbal, and universities with similar policies have outlined examples as maybe a nod of the head or moving in closer to the person.

It's like these people have never gotten laid before.

1 in 5 female college students is a victim of sexual assault

Sure, maybe if you change the definition of assault to "I was drunk and regret it now".

"It seems extremely difficult and extraordinarily intrusive to micromanage sex so closely as to tell young people what steps they must take in the privacy of their own dorm rooms,"

No shit. But feminism would have the whole world policed and under surveillance if they could. Freedom and privacy < safety for women.

"Most students don't know what consent is," she said. "I've asked at the workshops how many people think if a girl is blacked out drunk that it's OK to have sex with her. The amount of people who raised their hands was just startling."

I wonder why? Maybe it's because kids understand that if you get blacked out, you're still responsible for what happens.

tldr; this is just giant shit test. Women want to be taken in the bedroom. But the female imperative always is looking to restrain male sexuality.

Out of interest, if a guy drinks so much he passes out on the grass or in a room, is it fine to ass fuck him too...because he's basically asking for it yeah and it's his "responsibility"? Or does this just work for girls?

[–]md619[S] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You're missing the point. No it's not "right" for people to do something like that. But that doesn't alleviate the original individual from responsibility either. If you leave the door to your house unlocked, it's not "fine" for someone to rob you. But if it does happen, the consequences and responsibility are still on you. Everyone would tell you "yeah it sucks you got robbed, but you really shouldn't have left your door open in the first place either".

No, you're just back peddling now. You clearly agreed with the statement that it was OK to have sex with a blacked out girl.

This is not 'just' a shit test. This is a shift of power to females, which only raises hypergamy, i.e. only if a girl is totally and utterly satisfied with her experience otherwise she regrets and we know what happens then. Poor bad looking bastards will have it even worse.

Woah, you're saying you would have sex with a girl who was unconscious?? That it's ok because she got herself that drunk....
You are why TRP has a reputation for being full of rapists.
