I have come up with this hypothesis where you are in social situations in places you are not very familiar with let's say a gym community, writing community, dance community etc. , in the silent war of hierarchies that men establish there exist conflict points and reputation points.
To establish hierarchy men will throw shit tests at each other . Each man has its own reputation points and conflict points. They are interlinked together but I am not going into details how they are interlinked but just adress them separately to compliment my hypothesis .
Reputation points are how each guy is worth according to his beliefs, others beliefs and his social circle.
A guy that is very confident, is wealthy, is knowledgeable, has power and has a lot of friends that he can rely on if shit hits the fan, he has high reputation points .
On the other side, let's say you call someone stupid. That increases the conflict points you have with that person. You are having a conversation with Mike and you say "Mike you're stupid, you wouldnt get it"
Let's say this increases the conflict points by 20 .
You may also call Mike a bitch and that may be worth 60 conflict points.
Let's say Mike has a conflict threshold of 70 . If you say one of these insults or the other it may not degrade into physical violence. However if you say them both you can get into a fight with Mike, and can possibly be beat up resulting in a loss of reputation points.
If you keep the points under the threshold of a physical fight, what you get is a soft conflict.
Now here is the sweet part of the theory . Just by getting into soft conflict with a higher reputation man, you increase your reputation. So if there is a chance to slightly neg a reputable guy, just the favt that you had the balls to get into soft conflict with him increases your reputation points.
If a lower reputation man negs you covertly, making it impossible for you to aggrevate the conflict to a hard conflict consisting in insults or physical fight, you better ignore. This way he gets even lower on the hierarchy. If he lures you into his low energy fight, you lose reputation points while he gains them.
So while keeping under the conflict point threshold, only get into soft , jokingly conflict with higher reputation men. Ignore the lower reputation ones because they may drag you down. Or if you do not want to ignore them, you have to be blunt, making it know that you will increase the odds if they keep going.
Feel free to ask me any questions if there is something unclear.
