He tried to open a domestic abuse shelter for men in Canada because there were many domestic abuse shelters for women in Canada but not a single shelter which lets men in. He didn't get funding. So he tried to fund it by his own earnings. Feminists protested against the shelters and said that he was an abuse perpetrator because he was trying to support men. When he was unable to afford to fund the shelter by himself he closed the shelter and suicided.

Today you will see stupid feminist article which say feminism didn't cause earl silverman's death (which is wrong because saying he was a perpetrator and protesting against shelters were factors which caused depression.).

One of the stupid articles even dared to say that Earl Silverman and his supporters should stop trying to help men because more women suffer from domestic abuse than men. (I know less men suffer domestic abuse as compared to women but it doesn't mean they don't need support, and also it's not like they already have support.)
