The real risk is pretty simple, dick is free. Go on some of the boards on reddit that practice this and you'll see pretty quickly what the typical result is. The woman gets dicked down almost instantly, while the man struggles to even land a date. Women hold the keys to intimacy, while men hold the keys to commitment. What commitment do you have to offer a side piece?

Now from a Redpill standpoint there's a few that manage it, Vasiliy advocates for one sided open relationships. If you're a high value man, you can get away with what you want. Spinning plates is obviously just open relationships, with less definition.

I'd ask you what benefit you get from opening it instead of just kicking her to the curb? Or go have an affair if you're unsure? Convince me why you aren't just trying to ease out of it because you're afraid.

opening up a monogamous relationship is stupid.

opening up a monogamous relationship while you’re married is even worse. if there’s kids involved, you’re adding potential chaos to their lives.

also, there’s plenty of guys who LOVE sleeping with women in relationships. there’s a lower chance they leave and she’s willingly to let loose with them.

if you or your “friend” wants to hang around while another man gets better sex with their wife while they watch the kids, go for it.

To me it always sounded like monkey branching, hold one in grip while you're looking for the next one.

The only successful open relationship I've seen were having a strong material incentive paired with a very low self esteem

My guy this isn’t the community to look for support on an open relationship.

That being said it can be done and it can be great, but there has to be a base level understanding that almost goes beyond a marriage contract.

MRP is almost wholly incompatible with the level of understanding that I speak of. Doesn’t mean it’s wrong or something else is right, it’s just not going to be a meaningful relationship blueprint if you have an open relationship.

The premise of an open relationship is that both parties have sexual desires and needs and by radically accepting those, an iron-clad bond is formed. Why would you ever leave a woman who let you pursue your wildest fantasies?

The flip side is that some women (read:most) are bad actors and are not negotiating these things in good faith. They go into an open relationship with the covert goal of finding a better sexual partner that can replace their primary sexual partner.
