This is a sock puppet account and I've been lurking for the past couple weeks on my other account. A little background. My husband used to be more of an alpha. I went through some fairly horrific depression (hospitalization and the like) that pretty much destroyed our relationship. Now that I'm on the mend I can see that the damage is irreparable and the pieces can't be salvaged. I'm unable to provide my half of the relationship and am functioning as just dead weight. It kills me to see him dragging himself through this and for his sake I want him to be able to live a better and more fulfilling life. I don't think I'm capable of providing the life he deserves. He is still trying to fix things and I don't know how to convince him that ending the relationship is the better choice. He's pretty much a beta male now and I can't stand to see him brought so low because of me. How can I broach the subject in a way that might open his eyes a little? I'm completely clueless on this front and I want to do right by him, to at least get this part right instead of seeing him suffer. I don't even know if this is the right place to ask.

I am not trying to pawn him off. No one has cheated. I pretty much plan on becoming a cat lady after this.
