I turned 18 this summer. Went to the Hideout festival in Croatia and spent a week in Ayia Napa. Just want to share some of my experiences over there and what I learnt. In addition, some advice to take away with you about going away on your first lads holiday.

  1. If you are going away with the lads, don't be that guy who is just a passenger and adds no value to the holiday. Make the most of the experience, be loud and be the person people want to hang around with.

  2. In terms of girls, I would say try and speak to the girls during the day e.g. by the pool, in your accommodation etc. Once you create that bond with them, it makes it so much easier to pull the girl later on in the night at the festival, club etc.

  3. Don't go looking for trouble abroad, you will get battered!

  4. Try and go to every event and see as much as possible whilst you are there. Just makes sense, might as well make the most of it. Reps will always try and sell you shit, however they're pretty overpriced and will most likely rip you off. Look for cheaper alternatives.

  5. Air conditioning is a must
