Do opportunities for validation and ego boosts from social life exist once you're older than 30?

We are all familiar with how it was like being the cool kid in high school or college who had hot girls and parties in his life while most other guys were not so fortunate. Do opportunities to occupy that sort of a role in the social hierarchy exist in adulthood or does none of that social hierarchy shit matter anymore?
