Background info:

I'm in college and this girl and I hooked up for about a month or so and we were kind of dating but not really. We broke up (in November) and recently started talking more often again. She kept sending what I thought were signals she was into me again. She texted me every once in a while, she replied to my snap stories saying they were hilarious, trying to get my attention to say hi to her in public, etc. She flirted with me at bars a few times, but I brushed most of it off.

Story:

I think: if she keeps initiating, maybe she wants me to ask her out or do something. So I ask her to lunch (in Spanish, which is how I used to talk dirty to her btw) and she agrees. [Note: I had read something about how compliance was a good indicator of attraction if nothing else was certain so I went by that.]

We get lunch and the first thing she asks me is: "Why did you ask me to lunch? Is there something you want to say". I tell her it's simply a lunch between two friends. She says oh... ok. Lunch goes well, she laughs a lot and compliments me on stuff. I mention I play guitar and she REALLY wants to know the songs I can play but I only tell her one.

After lunch, she sees me from her bus, takes a picture and sends it to me.

Me:"i heard that guy's rendition of _____ is crazy".

Her: "i wouldn't know".

Me: "wanna hear for yourself?"

Her: "yes"

Me: "how's tonight sound?"

Her: "wdym"

Me: "do you want to hear the song"

Her: "I do!"

Me: "do you want to hear it tonight"

Her: "I do"

Me: "if you can get a ride to my place, I'll play it for you"

Her: "Oh I can't do that"

Me: "ok no worries"

My conclusion is she didn't want to come over or else she would have asked me for a ride since she knows I have a car. What do you think? Where did I go wrong?
