I went into this tiny makeup store at the mall earlier in the week and asked the girl working in the store about exfoliating and moisturizing face creams that they had. I had no idea how any of this stuff works or what to look for, I just wanted to get into basic skincare maintenance. I wasn't dressed my best and the talk was mainly just her explaining what each does and how to use them, I was probably asking questions for like 10 minutes or so. At the end she gave me some free samples to try and said that the store has better discounts on weekends. She gave me her personal number and said to come back on the weekend so that I'd get a better price.

I was surprised by how well she knew the products and her willingness to help me and have conversation that I asked if she got commission from sales and she said she doesn't. I would have bought something small if she did to help her out.

I ended up liking the samples and I texted her asking for her hours this weekend so I can go buy when she's there, and ask a few more questions about sunscreen. She was excited that I liked them and gave me her hours, so I'm going later today to buy the regular size.

I was just wondering if I came off gay or something because I was looking into skincare stuff. I thought it was weird she gave me her personal number and hours, but she could just be getting commission and lying about it to have a regular customer. Maybe she just likes her job a lot after all.

The main reason I'm asking is because my approaches need work on not coming off too timidly, and I'd probably try and replicate this conversation energy when approaching. I'm still new to approaching and i'm doing major calibrations as I go because my results have been abysmal so far lol.
