I want to socialise with alot of girls, not to have sex with them, but i really want to establish a strong connection with somebody, i feel thats what im missing from my life ever since i broke up with my X after about 3 years being with her.

First of all, beware. Because of evolution and a lot of weird reasons, men become "emotional" about women a lot faster than women become emotional about men. That's the biggest problem men have in meeting women - they come on too strong too early and freak the girl out because girls don't understand why somebody would get so emotionally attached so early.

You are obviously hurting from losing your X and you want to re-establish that connection but you can't just jump into it because you will freak girls out. Girls take a loooong time to get completely comfortable with a guy. In fact, that's the biggest challenge guys have when they come right out of a LTR - they want to jump right into another deep emotional connection and you just can't do that.

Here's something you need to know: when you talk to girls don't get emotional or sappy. You are the man and you have to be confident and rational - they are the emo ones. It's ok to be emotional and sappy in a LTR when you've known the person forever, but not when you first meet them. When you talk to these girls you can't look like you are needy or have an emotional hole you need to fill. You just have to say "Hi I'm X, I don't know if I''ve introduced myself. We should get go for a drink sometime to discuss class." Get their number, and then call them with a specific time and place to get drinks.

If you're already talking to them in class, just make a move then. "Hey, let's get coffee later..."
