Hey, everyone. Here's my third FR here, just a disclaimer- I'm a cocky 18 year old who thinks he knows everything. Definitely looking for some advice from elder PUAs, so please, don't feel afraid to criticize.

Continuing on, today I was walking to a local Barnes & Noble (don't know why, the weather has been shitty) to grab a drink and a movie. I get my drink (caramel frappe up in this shit) and continue on my way to the movie section of the store.

I browse around and grab the flick ('Being John Malkovich') and walk up to the counter. I look up, and like a flashbang I'm hit with the sight of this dark brunette HB8 just radiating from the checkout, smiling at me.

Now, I look like a complete tool at the moment- I'm in basketball shorts and a New York Yankees t-shirt, my hair is undone, and I haven't shaved in a few days. Awesome.

She says to me "Hey, is that all for you?" and she grabs the movie from me as I say "Yeah." My heart is fucking pounding and I'm sweating like a queer in a hotdog factory. I RARELY (and I mean rarely) get nervous around women because I'm just naturally extroverted and confident all the time, but she really struck me. She goes "Oh! I LOVE this movie. Kaufman is a genius." And she smiles.

So here is this extroverted, short, cute brunette (maybe older than me, maybe not?) with a good taste in movies directly in front of me and I look like Gilbert Godfrey would if he was a bum.

"Oh, yeah, he's my favorite writer. Nice taste!" I smile back and she says "Have you ever seen 'Synecdoche, New York'?" "Oh, of course. Had to watch it a couple of times, but it was great." "Oh yeah! Loved it." she begins to swipe the movie and gives me the price, and I realize that my opportunity is slipping away.

She wasn't throwing out any major IOIs that I noticed and I figured the conversation was just the way she was- but then I remembered what a wise man once told me: Babe Ruth struck out over 1,300 times. But he also hit 714 home runs. If you don't step up to plate and take your cuts, you'll never hit shit.

Time to dig in. I'm about to hand her the $15.00, and then I work up the nerve and pull it back as she's about to take it. "Hey, when do you get off?" She cocked her head a little, smirked and said "In about... 10 minutes. Why?" I shrug and say "Oh, I dunno... I was just thinking about doing something really exciting in 10 minutes. You game?" I hand her the money and she says "Maybe."

I see her start to blush, look down and immediately I start to realize that because I was just so confident and actually asked her to do something, she was almost taken aback and got embarrassed. Confidence regained entirely. Went from Buster Bluth to the guy in the Old Spice commercials in 4 seconds. There's a lesson to be had here; even if you think she's out of your league and you look like shit, just fucking ask her out, what's the worst that could happen? She could say 'No.', that's all.

"Great," I begin. "I'll just wait for you at the, uh, cafe area?" She's still looking down and blushing. "Okay!" Bingo. I walk away, feeling like a total baller, when I realize: SHITFUCK. I told her I was doing something exciting. Fuck. Fuckity fuck fuck.

I begin racking my brain for an idea, any idea at all, but for whatever reason it was like someone had yelled 'QUICK! Think of 3 things that aren't Jackie Chan!' and the only thing that is coming to my mind is karate, Chinese people, and Jackie Chan. Before I know it, she's walking toward my table, smiling at me.

"So, where are we headed?" she asks as I stand up to greet her. "It's a surprise." I respond, still with no idea what was going to happen. "Ooh, I like surprises... I'm CHICK." "I'm Fabio. Let's go?" We walk outside, keep the small talk up until we get to a crosswalk. We're standing there and it begins to pour- not any kind of Spring shower, either. I'm talking cold, heavy, sleet-like rain.

"Ah, no!" she says as she begins to cower into my arm. Now, I always like to consider myself completely spontaneous and free-spirited, but what I did next surprised even me. I'm not sure what compelled me, but I grab her hand, and start fast-walking across the street. Then we both break out into a run, still holding hands, splashing in the puddles that were being formed. She was laughing and so was I. I was legitimately having fun- and she felt that.

We make our way to a park, and we both cower under a giant tree. It isn't working well and we're both still getting wet. This was really the first time I got to see her fully and she was sopping wet, just standing there laughing and so was I.

"I guess this is exciting, right?" I smirk as I say it. "Yes, this has most definitely been the most exciting part of my week, haha." "This tree is completely failing at keeping us dry." "I know, I'm freezing!" she says and she puts her arms around herself and rubs them around to warm herself up. "Me too. Come here." We get closer and I hug her. It's amazing how close we were getting considering the amount of time we knew each other. Should I thank the weather or myself? Still not sure.

We ended up heading to a grocery store where we browsed the fruit and vegetable section for an hour and a half, seeing how many penises and boobs we could make with them. There were old people looking at us the entire time. It was a lot of fun. As we began to leave, she said to me "I really better go," "Yeah." "but I had a super great time." "You know... I really did too. Let's do this again like, really soon. Let me give you my number." "Okay, I'll give you mine!" and we both pull out our phones and exchange numbers and parted ways.

I'm not totally sure what can be taken from this, I wasn't perfect, but I just went for it with someone I met for 3 minutes and I ended up having a spectacular time with a girl I really want to see again. Never be afraid to go for it, guys. Never.
