Short answer, yes. Texting is for logistics only. Dick her down good and then she'll indirectly ask for more later. Or it'll be easier to set that up on your end.
I found setting notifications alarms on my IG and other apps helps limit seeming needy. I found trying to make a joke is not always interpreted correctly, 95% of the time. I found myself writing out a long message and deleting 90% of it before I send it, because a lot of it is irrelevant and 'validation seeking.' Women can see you as a 'boy' to look down upon or they can look up to you. You don't have to throw texting out of the window if you don't want to, if there is nothing for you to lose. Don't text cringe stuff that can get you reported.
"How are you?" texting - do you really give a fuck? plus, it's a waste of time that leads to nowhere. I use that question for basic in-person conversation to get the ball rolling.

Me: "Let's meet up later in the week" - keeps it simple and direct and something productive for her to think about.
Her: Oh, I might have to work this weekend.
Me : Ok, I'll follow up later in the week. [Even if that was sent on a Sunday, I let it sit till later in the week; putting the onus on me to follow up; if they can't make it or ghost, I'm always double booking anyway with some other activity. Win-win]

Ideally you don't have to depend on texting to keep up rapport with someone, but you often don't have a choice because you don't see these people regularly. Some communication is better than, none else that contact is going to just fizzle out forever so you might as well send them that message. You have nothing to lose.

As an extreme example, I live on a beach in Mexico and keep in touch with tourist men and women who I only knew for a week or two. Some of them fizzle out. Some of them I continue to exchange messages with every once in a while until they visit again to surf. People are different. And your relationship is different with each one of them. You can't generalize, you can only try.

Since you're still learning the limits here, go ahead and send a message any time you'd think "hmm I probably shouldn't."—That's the only way you really learn what's possible. If you always try to play it coy and go "fuck it, she'll msg me if she cares," then you're just going to miss opportunities. Don't overthink it.

If you're trying too hard with one woman, it also means you need to meet more people. "How would I act if I still wanted to see this woman, but I also am talking to ten other women?" Is always a nice WWJD sort of question. You realize you'd go ahead and send her a nice message but not care if she doesn't respond. It's okay. You wouldn't ask questions like "shit, am I responding too fast or too often??"—you would just send the message and not care. She'll fizzle it out if she's uninterested.

If you’re not the coolest guy on social media I wouldn’t give them your account handle. They will use your social media to gauge how cool you are and compare you to all the instaballers. If they detect that you are not the most interesting man in the world they will reject you
