Some of us may have trouble just simply starting a conversation with a someone else, much less talking to them. However, rather than just a simple hello, these four methods have always helped me break the ice in a social setting with not only women, but potential friends as well, and it allows me to show some character:
- Ask them a question/favor
"Hey, can you help me out real quick?" "Hey, can you hold this for second, please?" "Excuse me, can you help me find this please?" Very simple, and then afterward just introduce yourself.
Speak you're opinion about something you both seem to take an interest in, and direct your voice confidently and clearly towards her direction. Ex: "Man, it's really hot today." (She responds)
Much like making a statement, make a funny about your current setting or situation to get her laughing and immediately interested in what else you have to say. (My personal favorite method)
Ask if you've met each other in a past encounter, even if you've never seen this person in your life. "Have we met before?" "I think I know you from somewhere?" (Probability of a positive response is higher if the two of you have actually seen each other before)
Other than that, make eye contact, smile, have good frame, be confident and outspoken, have a positive, clear tone of voice, and give her a fair handshake.
"What's your name?"
"Jessica, yours?"
"Bobby."
"Nice to meet you Bobby."
Happy Hunting :)
