Okay, some feminists were against it. I hope you are not going to nitpick again.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates21/07/25 01:41 PM

Ok, Fair point. Let me rephrase the claim: Feminists in Israel and India were against legally recognising male victims of female perpetrators. Do you agree with that claim?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates21/07/25 01:24 PM
1

The claim was that they oppose the recognition of male victims and minimize the existence of female perpetrators which they certainly did.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates21/07/25 01:06 PM
2

I did not make any claim. I provided the sources for a claim somebody else made. They do support the claim. Please read the sources before replying.

I did. That's why I cited them.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates21/07/25 06:18 AM

Yup, both Depp and Heard were abusing each other. Using either of them as a "role-model" is harmful.

Or maybe he's saying that metoo did not recognise male victims?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates20/07/25 06:07 PM

If I have to guess, I think he's referring to KillAllMen since he mentioned it.

I don't know, Ask him. I just clarified what he meant.

He's not framing metoo as misandry, he's saying that after metoo there was a lot of misandry online.

Yup, it takes balls to admit that you have no argument. I congratulate you on your bravery.

Lol, yeah sure.

Maybe in that time this was true but right now? Absolutely not. Still I have seen radfems use that quote recently.

I don't know what it is but it's definitely not worth paying attention to. By the way, are you a feminist?

Yeah, we need to encourage men to do it.

Man, my heart is breaking for you. Your parents are abusive. I pray for your wellbeing.

Probably idk. Still a weird thing to say.
/r/MensRights09/07/25 06:11 AM

This thread just shows the women can be as abusive as men. I can't even imagine if the genders were reversed here.
/r/MensRights09/07/25 02:21 AM

Yeah, it's so sad that this is not considered sexual assault when it is.
/r/MensRights09/07/25 02:10 AM

I think she's talking the time about when she was a girl. For context, somebody asked her how did she know she wanted to be a dominatrix.
/r/MensRights08/07/25 09:18 AM
4

Ah, I see. Sadly, this is not just by Indian/Asian creators. This is how the world minimizes abuse of men.
/r/MensRights08/07/25 09:04 AM
8

Did you read the tweet? I know it's normal in those communities but she's talking about a situation where she kicked boys in the balls and stole their lunch money, presumably non-consensually. That's abuse and assault (technically sexual assault too but law does not consider that) There are many findommes who financially abuse men without any care for them as the post by TheTinMen points out. People are quick to point out when women are being abused in these communities but nobody cares about me…

I'm sorry, I don't follow. What kind of posts?
/r/MensRights08/07/25 06:23 AM

Sure. My point was regarding how Guardian almost always shows one sided narratives and stories.

Of course, the usual harridans on the UK subs have jumped on it as evidence of how awful men are, despite it meaning nothing at all. That's how I got to know about this.
/r/MensRights01/07/25 04:35 PM
1

Oh, for sure. And notice how they ask "number of time" something has happened? In Sweden, even revictimization is counted as a seperate crime. I'm pretty sure they counted that here too, thus inflating the stats.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates30/06/25 03:10 PM

So if it continues after the person says they are uncomfortable, it's sexual, even if the preparator is not intending it to be. That has nothing to do with a "narrative" of victimhood. You are just playing dumb here. It has everything to do with the narrative of victimhood. There has been a long line of advocacy by feminists shouting at the top of their lungs that any non-consensual contact with a woman is a sexual offense. The same has not happened to men. There is rarely any talk of male victi…
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates30/06/25 04:20 AM

That's how it works for female victims too. Women are told they should just take harassment as a complement or they perpetrator actions are dismissed as a misunderstanding, or "boys being boys". Prior to Metoo? Sure. But at this point, this rarely happens. MeToo has changed a lot of things. Using a some of personal anecdotes about people "calling out" some behavior doesn't mean it's not socially acceptable. If it wasn't socially acceptable people wouldn't have to call anything out. Secound, women are sexually harassed online every day and it's completely acceptable. It happens but it's not acceptable to harass women and men are called out for that behaviour and rightfully so. On the other hand, men's harassment is mostly seen as acceptable. If it's by women, it's seen as something that he should "enjoy". If it's by other men, it's dismissed as "horseplay".

Whether it's sexual or not depends entirely on the circumstances and the perception of the victim. The perception of victim changes with the narrative of victimhood. If men are taught their identity as a victim matters seperate from the female victims, they will be more inclined to disclose it.

Equating women's value with their ability to provide sex/reproduction is misogyny. Agreed, it's misandry too (the two usually go hand in hand), because it portrays men as sex-crazed beasts. But I don't agree with your generalization that 'the majority of people on r/mensrights seemingly hate women.' That's just blatant cherry-picking. Oh, and btw, your parrots are cute.

This is unrelated to the discussion but on the purple pill sub, you made a comment where you said statistically men are more likely to rape other men? Sorry but that's not true. At least not in US. again men is more common than women I don't have stats for each and every country but here in US, most of the perpetrators of sexual violence against men are women, according to CDC NISVS 2016/17. Only rape against men has more male perpetrators than female but that's because it's defined like this by CDC: Among men, rape includes oral or anal penetration by a male using his penis. It also includes anal penetration by a male or female using their fingers or an object. https://www.cdc.gov/nisvs/d…

Yeah, this is what I found missing heavily in this. Obviously, I welcome this as there is a dire need to address issues with understanding consent. False accusations are extremely rare What data says that? Obviously they are not more than actual rape allegations but saying they are EXTREMELY rare is a bit disingenous. Most of the data shows 2-10% of the cases are false accusations but it's based on conclusively proven false accusations, most of the cases are in the unfounded range, where it's difficult to say what's the nature of those allegations. http://www.datagoneodd.com/blog/2015/01/25/how-to-lie-and-mislead-with-rape-statistics-part-1…

I'm making a point regarding male victims and how society ignores them. A victim is a victim, no matter what the gender is. You have privilege, seeing someone else asking for just equality makes you feel oppressed Oh, right!! Denying the fact men can victims of domestic and sexual violence is equality according to you? You aren’t oppressed by women Correct, we're oppre…

First of all, it's not. You can see perpetrators for men in the linked study. Except for rape, most men had female perpetrators. But, let's say it was mostly caused by other men. What difference does it make?

They do? I had no idea. I was once skimming through a cmv thread regarding this and most people said that since it's not (mostly) sexual in nature, it's not sexual abuse. I'm actually waiting for a good argument to counter this.

Man, I was prepared for some weird man-hating shit but this? It's outright abuse!!! And I would never ever understand why kicking in the groin is not considered abuse? Especially when a girl/woman does it? I don't know if it should be considered sexual abuse or not, but it's definitely abuse.

Neither do they ask in the sexual coercion section about instances where women might use false accusations as a means of sexually coercing men. Plus, consider the fact that men are taught to enj…

I made the point above regarding that. The points below are regarding the studies I quoted in another comment. Read the full comment before embarassing yourself by using that facepalm emoji.
/r/MensRights25/03/25 06:09 AM
2

Yeah, there's a reason for that. Women have children easily available to them cause people are more likely to trust them. On the other hand, people are less likely to trust men in person, so predatory men use these things to prey upon victims. Also, the studies I quoted are also probably underreports from men. Widom and Morris (1997) found men were much more reluctant to label child sexual experiences as ‘abuse’ than women (16% compared with 64%). Ahola (2012) says that over increasing time, wit…

Okay, good. Next time you post something about that, include the above report too and these things: Police reports and conviction statistics show that a minuscule percentage of child molesters are women, but victimization surveys show much higher percentages. https://canadiancrc.com/female_sex_offenders-female_sexual_predators_awareness.aspx https://www.researchgate.net/publication/305384459_The_Proportion_of_Sexual_Offenders_Who_Are_Female_Is_Higher_Than_Thought_A_Meta-Analysis

You do not want anything. You want to change the conversation to men bad. And an FYI, female perps also exist.
/r/MensRights25/03/25 04:48 AM

Oh, and one more thing Police reports and conviction statistics show that a minuscule percentage of child molesters are women, but victimization surveys show much higher percentages.
/r/MensRights25/03/25 04:48 AM

I'm not saying men do not do that. But it's odd you're pointing it out here. It's almost you are saying like those boys deserve it.
/r/MensRights25/03/25 04:45 AM

No, search your own article. From your comment history, I can see what you're here to do. Traditional "It's the men doing it" argument.

What? Where does it contradict itself? And where is it unable to count to 3?
/r/MensRights25/03/25 04:32 AM

Okay, it's misogyny. Do something about it. Campaign against it. I mean all men are drafted. Surely, this is a big misogyny problem. Where is the movement against it? We haven't got any MeToo level movement for this widespread misogyny. WHY? Why none of your resources or activism is devoted to erasing this widespread misogyny?

So, similarly it also leaves 40% bi women and 65% straight women who did not experience violence.
/r/EverydayMisandry24/03/25 04:28 PM

Then why was the stat for straight women so low? It's either that bi women are ignoring female violence or they are lying. Or it's both.
/r/EverydayMisandry24/03/25 04:23 PM

Actually, this 67% is only female perps. It can very well be the case that rest of them were abused both males and females.
/r/MensRights24/03/25 04:01 PM

I don't understand your calculations. This is straight from Wiki: On a survey by the CDC in 2010, it was found that that 43.8% of lesbian women reported experiencing physical violence, stalking, or rape by an intimate partner on their lifetime. The report notes that, out of those 43.8%, two thirds (67.4%) reported exclusively female perpetrators. In contrast, 61.1% of bisexual women reported physical violence, stalking, or rape by their partners in the same study with 89.5% reporting being male …

Well said, my friend! Staying away from women is very helpful. You know nowadays the environment is very anti-male, one wrong step and boom! False accusations of rape/abuse etc. You will be villified for just doing anything that she might not like. I know all women are not like that, but tbh nowadays the environment is very toxic. So better safe than sorry.

Yup, I deleted tiktok and removed my account from X. It's all just a cesspool of hatred against men. I'm on Reddit just because of this and a few other male centric subs.

Good job! I have a few more for you. France: In a VIRAGE 2015 survey in France, an estimated 580,000 (2.90%) women and 197,000 (1.03%) men were victims of all forms of sexual assault in the previous 12 months. Netherlands: A national population survey in Netherlands showed that almost 2% of women and almost 1% of men had experienced sexual violence in the past year.

What's this "Mrs" movie about?
/r/MensRights23/03/25 05:38 PM
18

Man, I hate spoonfeeding but I'll connect the dots for you. You said: misandry is typically women hating men Which is not true at all. Just like how women can be misogynistic, men can also be misandristic. You said: it’s not related to misogyny Nobody is relating it to misogyny. We're simply doing a comparison. If you're saying, misogyny (hatred against women) causes violence against them, then by the same logic misandry (hatred against men) causes violence against men.
/r/MensRights23/03/25 05:31 PM
22

So internalised misandry is not a thing ig?
/r/MensRights23/03/25 05:15 PM
21

Okay, you said that misogyny is the cause for men killing women but when you were asked that is misandry the cause for men killing men, you asked how is it related. So, I replied to you explaining the logic behind the previous question. Do you get it now?
/r/MensRights23/03/25 05:07 PM
17

Why?
/r/MensRights23/03/25 05:00 PM
19

Women also kill men if that's your concern. No gender is free from violence. Men are more likely to due to certain cultural and evolutionary factors.
/r/MensRights23/03/25 04:52 PM
46

Yeah, so by your own logic, hatred against a particular gender is likely to create violence. Why wouldn't that apply for men?
/r/MensRights23/03/25 04:46 PM
16

Yeah, she is. She also is Indian, it's very telling. I've blocked her. These Indian and Korean feminists are the worst.
/r/MensRights23/03/25 02:25 PM
39

Misandry is why men are made to fight in wars. Misandry is why men are 5x more likely to face violence in public sphere. Misandry is why men are more likely to die in suicides. So, yes you're absolutely right. Misandry does not kill men the same way misogyny does, it kills more.
/r/MensRights23/03/25 01:05 PM
30

Like, I’m begging them to engage with even one layer of nuance And we're begging you to understand what we're saying. Nobody is championing Red-Pill Ideologies here. The problem is they refuse to acknowledge the main reason behind this drift of men toward ideologies like these. It's a lack of positive male role models in their lives. It's not misogyny that drives this. These teens would also be equally or even more violent towards their male friends. and no, women are not pushing an agenda to ma…

And how do you know about that? Is there any study that says so?
/r/MensRights23/03/25 09:01 AM

Yeah, it's called denial of objective reality. Feminists are teaching people to treat men as "monsters". When they are faced with the reality, they try to find bias in it. I literally saw a short in which a feminist was on Pearl and she was saying Einstein's ground-breaking work was actually written by her wife. Like what?

The problem is this immediate impact thing was new in 2016/17 data. So, we have no data points to compare it. But, I strongly suspect that 1 in 3 is very far-fetched. I mean, one can easily see discussions in feminist spaces regarding this and nobody can claim that 1 in 3 rapes are likely to cause injury. So, I'm pretty sure it's overreporting.
/r/MensRights19/03/25 06:19 PM
2

Thanks for sharing this data but I would lie to pushback a little bit if that's okay. This data is from NCVS while my source is CDC NISVS, I don't think we can compare them directly. Though I do suspect that the injuries among women has been overinflated as the data collection period was during MeToo.

because they don't align with your opinions I don't think it's about that. Feminists have done a horrible job at that. I suppose a feminist would say you were raped, but they say anything without voiced consent is rape. Only for women, though. Men cannot be raped yk. "Most women are affected differently than most men." is simply not true. I think it's partially true. If we talk about injury, according to current cdc data, 1 in 3 women were injured and 1 in 7 captured STIs after rape while only 1 in 18 men were injured and 1 in 25 captured STIs after MTP. https://www.cdc.gov/nisvs/documentation/nisvsReportonSexua…

Omg, this is horrible. Have you married again after that?
/r/MensRights14/03/25 01:42 PM

What the fuck? Man, so sorry you had to experience these things. It really horrifies me how little male victims are acknowledged by the society.

Did your gf try to coerce you in any way like verbally, emotionally?

I suppose their reply to you would be "It's not monsters, they are normal men. Often the perpetrator is someone known, not a random person on the street. It could be a woman's husband, father, boyfriend, brother, friend, acquaintance etc." I kid you not, this was a post on r/Feminism. There was also a post showing how small sample studies have found that almost half of men sexually coerce/ rape women. Now, it's actually a fact that the perp is generally a known one and it's also true that there …

Do you like Blue Lock?
/r/MensRights13/03/25 06:37 PM

Yep, I agree. Tbh, now I just wonder how many misandrists are there? How many of these people are brainwashed to hate us? Like I can't sleep at nights cause I keep thinking that somebody out there is suffering cause he's a man. And don't get me wrong, I also think this about women who are suffering. But yeah, it's literally horrifying to me. Men need to take action or we'll become subordinates of these misandrists. Boils my blood. Man, it's even more distressing that no fucking party cares about…
/r/MensRights13/03/25 06:36 PM

No, cause they were ridiculed other ways. Like how 50 Cent mocked Terry Crews. Also, how many victims of women did we see? Two or three at best? One was given hush money by his abuser and another one was silenced by the professors who were overwhelmingly in support of his abuser. And you saying women were silenced is totally inaccurate. Yes, there was a pushback against it, but most of the people were in support of that.

So you have a problem with a catch phrase that women are using, but not the podcaster who thinks teaching women a lesson for not using men as body shields, is an acceptable mindset? The whole podcast is idiotic. Who cares about what they say? Those people are incapable of even having a rational discussion. Maybe you don't actually stand with this mindset, but you didn't see a problem with someone else thinking that way, or that it just wasn't as bad as women saying "protecting us from who?" to y…

1

Hmm, probably. Morality is complicated, so idk.
/r/MensRights09/03/25 08:40 PM
12

No, that's what they are implying. They want to say men are protecting them from other men, so men=bad. And, since according to them men are using protection as a tradeoff for being submissive to them, rather than from empathy. So, again men=bad. And then some women are arguing that they were never protected by men and rather women stood up for them.
/r/MensRights09/03/25 08:06 PM
3

moreso it's a data point which other data points agree or disagree with based on their own studies Nope. Most of these studies use falsely proven cases as evidence of how many cases are false. But by that same measure, only a tiny amount of cases are true. Okay, I can see you're not getting my point. I'm not saying that exploitation andabuse is not an issue in porn. Obviously, it is. But to say all of it is bad is bit of a stretch.
/r/MensRights09/03/25 07:42 PM
7

there's no reason to assume that the population averages are particularly far off from that There's every reason to assume that. 120 is not a big enough sample size to predict anything. I suppose you know the Kanin study. It showed almost 40% of rape cases are false, but do you know why it was dismissed? Due to a sample size of near 100.
/r/MensRights09/03/25 07:20 PM
10

120 is a fine sample size; nobody is saying that the numbers will scale exactly to the entire populace, but that's the point of taking a sample No, 120 is very small sample size to make predictions based on that.
/r/MensRights09/03/25 07:08 PM
1

are these numbers not concerning to you These numbers can very well be manipulated, Like these: 51% had been choked during the production 33% had been tortured during the production This is just normal practice in porn scenes. Most porn companies give consent forms to the performers where they agree to do these scenes. These people try to build a narrative upon these flawed studies.
/r/MensRights09/03/25 06:47 PM
16

They try to cite these stats as an example of how they're factually correct, but they fail to recognise that 120 women are not representative of entire population of tens of thousands of porn performers worldwide. 84% had PTSD 65% was raped when filmed for porn 69% had attempted at least one Suicide attempt 77% was exploited for the first time in porn as children 88% was subjected to sexual assault as children 96% was subjected to assault/abuse as children 51% had been choked during the producti…

/r/MensRights09/03/25 02:23 PM

Exactly. I saw a girl's comment who was not into pegging, but she was using it to "silence" men who dared to ask her for anal. I mean, how hard is it to say no?
/r/MensRights09/03/25 01:59 PM
4

No, it's not. If she does not want to receive it, she can easily deny it. But she doesn't. Rather, she is using that to control him into giving what she wants. That's the problem. If you want a better explanation of my point, see u/The_rain5 comment.
/r/MensRights09/03/25 01:53 PM
21

Why is it unfair to say that she expects you to do for her what you expect her to do for you If she does not want it, she can refuse. This is not trading. Either you want it or you don't. The problem is not expectation, the problem is that both of them want to try anal, but only she wants to try pegging. He is not down to try it. That's called coercion. Comparing numbers for pegging and anal doesn't make sense because obviously using fake penises is less common when a real one is available. Then…

I agree to that. But I think you're confusing something. NISVS did not ask frequency of victimization, rather it asked that if the person experienced victimization ever in their life. Since you're aware that you have been victimized at least once, your victimization would be counted. This is different from a man who doesn't even know he has been victimized.
/r/MensRights08/03/25 08:43 AM

Agreed. The problem is there's no left nowadays. Left has completely been engulfed by wokeist ideologies and identity politics, which rather than focusing on the core problems, makes an absolute mockery of them in the eyes of general public. Wrong, again, you can check the perpetrators, it's mostly women. Most male made to penetrate victims (69.6%) reported only female perpetrators. Most male victims of sexual coercion (71.7%) reported that their perpetrators were female only. I think the numbers for sexual assault by a partner are something like 4.5% for women vs 0.2% for men, and physical beatings are about 20.4% for women and 7% for men The sexual assault rates are true according to PASK but the physical violence data is not reliable cause CDC's data on this shows that: Over lifetime, almost 42.0% of women and 42.3% of men experienced physical violence. Men also experience physical violence, but it’s not as severe (they’re usually not beaten, strangled, or raped). They tend to experience more psychological aggression/emotional abuse. Wrong. When severe aggression has been perpetrated (e.g., punching, kicking, using a weapon), rates of injury are much higher among female victims than male victims, and those injuries are more likely to be life-threatening and require a visit to an emergency room or hospital. However, when mild-to-moderate aggress…

/r/MensRights02/03/25 08:02 AM

No, it's not. Again, anybody can see this post and decipher what it's trying to say, but I guess it's hard for you cause of your cognitive bias.
/r/MensRights02/03/25 08:01 AM

Also, what's this thing with you people about being a victim? Is victimhood a trophy or something that you want to claim? Cause I don't.
/r/MensRights02/03/25 07:58 AM

Yeah, sure. Can't argue with someone who is obviously dyslexic.
/r/MensRights02/03/25 07:57 AM

Except that it's NOT at all saying that. Either the wording is bad or the intentions are. I'm willing to admit both possibilities but anybody with even a little bit of reading comprehension can understand that it's not what the post is conveying. Don't act obtuse and cognitively biased with me.
/r/MensRights02/03/25 07:56 AM

Read the title of the post. "It's not all men". So, yes the motive is implied by mocking this and saying oh, well rapists are our brothers, husbands and fathers and all the men we know. This is different from saying "Rapists are not monsters, they hide among us as normal people". Wording is very poor at the very least.
/r/MensRights02/03/25 07:47 AM

And notice how they particularly use "men". Read the first point.
/r/MensRights02/03/25 07:38 AM

I understand but that's different than saying all men are rapists. It's the literal opposite of that. Everybody knows that the offender is likely to be a known person, does not mean all of them are.

What Vance and others like him are pushing is often referred to as toxic masculinity. It’s a model that says the only way to be a “real man” is to dominate others, to suppress vulnerability and to never, under any circumstances, admit fault. It equates masculinity with power over people, rather than power with them. Lol. I don't care about Vance but to all the people here, has anybody ever seen women admitting their faults? Has anybody ever seen women not exercising their power over men, by any …

Okay, so this is a very tricky topic. First of all, while all the studies examine underreporting to police. None of them tackle the issue that men might underreport even on anonymous studies/surveys using Gender Neutral measures and Behaviourally Specific Questions(BSQs) compared to women. This needs to be researched further. Plus, there is a lack of awareness among men that might lead them to forget events of victimization. They might be less likely to admit it even when presented with BSQs. Th…

The assumptions behind these numbers are WILDLY naive (since encounters and men are not randomly distributed), but even changing assumptions to make attacks 1000x more likely still suggests a 'random' man is a fairly safe proposition (better than 99.99% change to 'escape' unharme…

"If you’re going to touch somebody inappropriately, you have to tell them before the take and say, ‘Is it alright if I do this to you?,’ “ Rebel shared. “But I forgot… maybe, like, deliberately forgot.”…

No, actually. Ahola (2012) gives a reason why 12-month data seems to deviate from lifetime data. Ahola says that over increasing time, witnesses judge female perpetrators less harshly than male perpetrators. This effect increases over time. “The finding is in line with the theory mentioned in the Introduction, fuzzy-trace theory, according to which people, with decreasing memory, tend to rely on the stereotypical picture they have.” The relevant stereotype being women commit less crime than men,…

Their logic is that most businesses are owned by the "oppressive gender", thus it's important to cherish and recognize those owned by the "oppressed" ones. This is inaccurate as 42% of all U.S. businesses are owned by women. Women-owned businesses have grown 114% in the last two decades. About half of all startups in the U.S. are founded by women. One-third of businesses worldwide are owned by women. https://luisazhou.com/blog/women-in-business-statistics/

Child neglect is an act of caregivers (e.g., parents) that results in depriving a child of their basic needs, such as the failure to provide adequate supervision, health care, clothing, or housing, as well as other physical, emotional, social, educational, and safety needs. Most of these things were provided by the father, with some exceptions. Rest of the things were done by the mother. Where's the neglect here? Plus, she herself admits she didn't have an awful childhood at all.

I am aware of the '20-30'. What's that? But that is bare minimum, and does not, in my opinion, make for a robust study. Yeah, you see. That's a valid criticism cause that's your opinion. IMHO, you're right. The study is not a definitive proof but there's another study with the same findings. diversity of age How do you know that? Picking people from the same environment, permeated by a certain culture, tends to do that. What? Many studies are done exclusively on college/ university samples and no, it does not skew the results.

Homogenous: 104 people, all of them being university students, and that doesn't ring alarm bells for you? I'm not sure what you mean by that cause the sample includes different ethnicities and genders, so it's NOT a homogeneous sample.
/r/MensRights08/01/25 04:12 PM

Uneven, along the gender axis: 81 women and 23 men is assymetrical as fuck. The men by themselves do not even constitute the minimum recommended sample size of 30! /r/MensRights08/01/25 04:11 PM

Laughably small : 104 people is NOT a robust sample size. You need much larger sample size to be able to use your findings to identify actual real world patterns and to be able to confirm them. This is by an academic u/Puzzleheaded_Pea_889 regarding this issue with samples: There is no universal correct number of samples. Women can leverage social pressure by crying and acting like the victim, but it's not like men have no social leverage at all. I agree. It's also just mechanically easier to penatrate an unwilling victim than to be penetrated by one. The guy might not even get an erection (I know this does happen but it might not and that's not an issue the other way around.) Mechanically? Poor choice of words, but okay. So essentially you are saying that it's easy to penetrate someone than being made to penetra…

Well, the disparity between lifetime and 12 month results for one. Granted. Let's not use Dimarco's arguments but when you look at NISVS 2015 or NISVS 2016/17, you can actually see inconsistencies in the lifetime numbers. The 12 month numbers are almost the same and in fact, showed a slight decrease which was possibly due to the low response rates. (average 1.5% for 2010-12, 0.7% for 2015 and 1.3% for 2016/17). But surprisingly enough, the lifetime numbers increased by a huge margin for 2015 and…

Yeah, that's what I thought. One more thing that was not consistent with their results was that Accounting for both false negatives and false positives, men’s overall SV perpetration rate would stay the same and women’s would decrease by 6.5% (from 54.84% to 48.39%). This statement clearly shows that women's perpetration rate is still more than men's (47.83%) despite all the biases from the authors. The authors' lack of knowledge can be seen from this paper: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/…

They support this assertion using several studies which did not actually test on women plus one study who's conclusion directly contradicted its own results. Can you expand more on this? Because according to the study women did overreport more than men and men did underreport more than women. And although the difference is not statistically significant, how does it contradict the results? Just asking for clarity on this.

Afaik, Brad's happy. According to a Daily Mail source, Brad “is 'relieved that this weight is finally lifted from him. He is no longer bound in any way to his marriage with Angelina. She has really put him through the ringer and he is just glad this portion is done.” I would say this won't affect Brad but consider somebody who is not financially stable. There is no way to calculate the percentage of rapists by gender based on this data. You would have to assume nobody has been raped by multiple people over their lifetime and that no rapist has raped multiple victims. Both are obviously not true. I agree. One more point I recently became aware of was that no. of female perpetrators of made to penetrate increases in 12 months as is clear from the NISVS 2016/17 study. Although that study had lower response rates and thus having more self-selection bias, it still showed a 83% in the last 12 months compared to 69% in their lifetime. Now imagine what would happen in a study with higher response rates such as NISVS 2010,2011,2012 studies, even though it's still low in that.

u/Trillias and u/Vegetable_Ad1732 already made some responses on the MRA sub. You can check that out. The logic here is both sound and frail at the same time, since CDC has hidden much of the data from us. It was not at all written in good faith. and why? Why not? CDC is repeatedly quoted by MRA's and LWMA's. We need some strong arguments to support our assertions.

Yeah. But it still means that those 119 women made atleast one accusation.

First of all, the 2012 (~40,000 respondents, report made in 2017) data year is not the last study available--there are two from 2015 (~10,000 respondents, report made in 2018) and 2016/2017 (~30,000 respondents, report made in 2022) data years. Yes, but the rates remained consistent throughout 2010-2012 for the made to penetrate data of 12 months. So, you can't discredit them with just two studies in which one of them (the 2015 one) actually has just a little variation from 50/50 to 60/40. In th…

The keyword here is another. From what I can see, 18 women had admitted explicitly to making those false claims and while the 101 women did not admit it, they did admit it implicitly on the survey (I presume) and were willing to do it again. So, in total 119 women (46%) admitted to making false accusations on the survey, implicitly or explicitly. This percentage is consistent with all the other studies by Kanin and others. Although, it would be too quick to judge as we would need a nationally re…

I still think that while it might technically be incorrect to draw any conclusions regarding how many perpetrators were female vs male with the data, it's pretty safe to assume that women were responsible for about half of all rapes. This is true. One NCVS report also showed the same thing and it does not even count made to penetrate. I mean, unless we are to assume that 80% of perpetrators were women in the lifetime figures when men seemed to heavily underreport victimization, and then in the p…
/r/MensRights28/12/24 03:50 PM

The figure in the CDC report about perpetrators against male victims is that 79% of male victims reported ONLY female perpetrators. This does not mean that 21% reported ONLY male perpetrators. More likely, there's a broad portion of that 21% that reported BOTH male and female perpetrators. That's a good point.
/r/MensRights28/12/24 03:43 PM
1

I think it's safe to assume that based on the CDC report, the number of female rapists is closer to 40% than it is to 5% or 10%. It could very easily be even greater than 40%. Other studies also show the same results that around 40something% of the rapists are females.
/r/MensRights28/12/24 03:28 PM

1 ambitious woman could be doing the work of hundreds of male rapists, or the other way around. I would say it's the other way around, since more male rapists are recidivists than female rapists, even if we account for overreporting.

Can we also talk about the fact that a third of all men experince IPV and 97% of them only had female perpetrators? Yes. Why not? Nowhere in any methodology I’ve seen have they provided the specific questions asked, answers provided and how they categorize those answers. Actually, no. Google were accused of 'Extreme' Discrimination against women, regarding a 'Gender pay Gap' by the US labor department. Facing a lawsuit and being compelled to provide data, google decided to investigate the gender pay gap internally and they discovered that it was infact, you guessed it, men who were being underpayed across the board. $9.7 million in compensation to 10,677 employees for 2018, with a disproportionate amount of that going to men.

What's your critique on the methodology? They actually said in the paper that While not a behavior found in our data, the SES also does not ask about pressuring or forcing someone to penetrate the respondent (the perpetrator) vaginally or anally and a couple women in the current study (though they were not self-reported perpetrators of such acts) noted this gap. Something I think reveals the paper's bias is this: Moreover, although the SES-SFP has more often been validated among men and may indeed miss instances of respondents forcing someone to penetrate them, our findings suggest that missing (mostly men’s) use of physical coercion and force may be the greater threat to validity. And why is that? From what I can see in their own findings: Nine participants (six women and three men) reported that, in the past 12 months, they had at least one similar or…

Yeah. I just wanted your opinion on this. From what I know, this one used the previous SES questionnaire. It excludes made to penetrate clearly. But what I am genuinely curious is about the paper's finding that women report victimization as perpetration. This finding was also in a 2015 study, so that's what I wanted to know more about.

One more paper I wanted to ask you about was this: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/00224499.2024.2322591 This paper again repeats the same things that men’s SV perpetration was likely underestimated, whereas women’s perpetration was overestimated and included reports of victimization, acquiescence, and instances in which they had not intended to manipulate. They also say that the paper you mentioned was speculating wrong.

A study on youth sexual aggression by Ybarra et al. (2016) found that a male victimization rate of 8.3% contrasted with a female perpetration rate of 1.6%. Gender differences in scale interpretations and validity are also likely. Indeed, most research validating the SES has been done with men (this and this). It is also likely that women and men’s SV perpetration is qualitatively different and, therefore, feasible that scales like the SES-SFP are missing some of women’s SV perpetration (indicati…

In contrast to these findings among males, there are no societal level gender norms or other societal level factors that are influencing populations of females to perpetrate sexual violence in the same way. I have found something contradictory to this: A growing body of literature supports the contention that both women and men employ various seductive, manipulative, intoxication, and even forceful tactics of sexual coercion to obtain sexual contact from unwilling partners. Although the self-rep…

Feminist theory states that sexual coercion is the result of male dominance over women and the need to maintain that dominance; however, studies showing that women sexually coerce men point towards weaknesses in that theory. When that's counted (like in the CDC NISVS survey), the no. becomes almost equal for the last 12 months(the 12 month figures are more accurate than lifetime prevalence figures). Also, CDC did not include made to penetrate as rape and counted it seperately to skew the stats. Along with that, women make up majority of the perpetrators of rape on men (around 80%) according to the CDC data. …

As I said in my previous reply, there were Roman empresses. So, by your logic the rich male senators' positions and power were dependent on the queens. So, by your own logic, men were marginalized when the rulers were queens. So marginalization is dependent upon time, not gender, by your own logic.

No, they were not marginalised in the past in western societies. Get your facts clear. Also, marginalized means to treat a person, group, etc. in a way that makes them feel that they are not important and have no power. Insinuating that all men are evil is quite the irrational reach, but to make the claim that most men do not care enough about women’s rights to attempt to recognize that implicit bias and try to stop it—that’s a fair claim. Oh, really? From my experience, men and women both care about women's rights more than any other group's rights. I have act…

Yeah, that's true. Claudia Goldin has won a Nobel Prize in Economics for her work on "gender pay gap". Though I'm not sure if she has disproved that. Where did you find that?

That's the problem with identifying rape. Ultimately, it all distills down to a 'He said, She said' issue.

Oh, yeah. I'm also reminded of the Mattress girl case or that UVA Rolling Stone story. I have a question: was that Canadian Hockey team case or that Steubenville case of the similar nature? Meaning were they false accusations too? I don't know much about the cases' history and I can't expect feminists to give me an unbiased history.

Well, yes but we don't have any credible source for male rape in US which includes made to penetrate. So, it's pretty much our only option despite heavy anti-male bias in it.

Sequence is irrelevant. Chasing somebody down is not self-defense. Also, Lifetime prevalence for experiencing sexual violence was 5.4% for women aged 21–40 years (five-year prevalence: 2.5%). https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6121316/ Similarly, in the EU, 1 in 20 women (5 %) have been raped since the age of 15 (Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA), 2014) https://fra.europa.eu/en/publication/2014/violence-against-women-eu-wide-survey-main-results-report

/r/MensRights09/12/24 05:56 PM

Yeah. The only reason men will ever be cared for will always be to help the women in their lives. Our society suffers from heavy gynocentrism.

Thanks. I came across some more similar studies recently: Has ‘lifetime prevalence’ reached the end of its life? An examination of the concept (Streiner et al., 2009) finds that the 12-month prevalence is more reliable than the lifetime prevalence. Recall Bias can be a Threat to Retrospective and Prospective Research Designs (Hassan, 2005) finds that "[r]esearch tells us that 20% of critical details of a recognized event are irretrievable after one year from its occurrence and 50% are irretrieva…

Helen Pluckrose on "If you believe in gender equality, you are a feminist". No. Please stop saying that. Its presumptuous, domineering and factually wrong. Feminism does not have a monopoly on the aim for gender equality. 'Feminism' is not simply the name of that aim. Non-feminist supporters of gender equality are not just confused about feminism. Feminism is one approach to gender equality, and its too loaded with ideological baggage to be popular. As its name indicates, feminism looks at gende…

Well here's an interesting fact: boys are more likely in Afghanistan to be trafficked than girls. They can be subjected to sexual trafficking, forced labor or being sent off as a soldier. Boys age 13 and under were most likely to be sexually exploited, and because Afghan girls were banned from sexual work and entertainment because they were seen as child-bearers and homemakers, Afghan boys were picked as a substitute for sexual gratification, being seen as a substitute for women. As a result, th…

This was amongst the tricks used in that infamous study, and I would be careful about taking too seriously the numbers presented in the NISVS. Well, yes but NISVS only counts those instances when the victim was unable to consent, at least in the case of men.

Nobody forgets actual abuse. Why? It’s traumatic and memorable. The idea of “repressed memories” has been proven false. Well, no. Society tells men to just 'man up' and get over their abuse, so they're less likely to acknowledge it. Also, I never brought up the whole 'repressed memories' thing. What is forgettable? Drunken hookup. What is illegal: having sex with someone too drunk to consent. What is not illegal? Two people drinking at a party and then having sex. If they were both still capable…

From 2010-2012, the average annual estimate was around 23 million. The NISVS uses a broader definition of sexual violence, which specifically mentions incidents in which the victim was unable to provide consent due to drug or alcohol use; forced to penetrate another person; or coerced to engage in sexual contact (including nonphysical pressure to engage in sex) unwanted sexual contact (including forcible kissing, fondling, or grabbing); and noncontact unwanted sexual experiences that do not invo…

You don't choose your sexuality. But if somebody wants to live in delusions, that's fine by me. She is not talking about her own experience. She is saying she thought that because the society is inherently misandristic.

What the actual fuck is this? Laughter in response to such horrific and traumatic situations is beyond fucked up. It’s disturbing how normalized this kind of bigotry and abuse has become in mainstream media. Respect to the last host for at least having the spine to call out these people's bigotry. It takes guts to stand up when the rest of the room is laughing at suffering. People need to stop normalizing this kind of shit.

If you took stats class, the standard error for the estimate of p is sqrt(p(1-p)/n). (with a binomial distribution) p is the probability of someone being a victim (1-p) is the probability of someone not being a victim and n is the number of people asked 95% confidence intervals for p would be p +/- 1.96 x sqrt(p x (1-p)/n) eg. Assume that n=1000, p=1.1% There's a 95% chance the true value of p is between 0.45% and 1.75%. For lifetime data, take n=1000, p=4.8% There's a 95% chance that the true v…

the lifetime numbers are more reliable. No, the 12 month figures are more reliable for everything. But that the 1-year data is uncertain enough that you can't conclusively say that men are victimized almost as much as women. Well, the data from 2010,2011 and 2012 show the same results.

You tried to use the argument of not choosing your sexuality yet you literally said 'I'm fine if people want to identify with these terms as long as they don't ask anything of me' No. This is just pure BS. You don't choose your sexuality but if somebody wants to live in delusion, that's fine by me. She is literally just talking about her own experience with men treating her badly, which is fair enough because there are a lot of bad men in the world No she is not. She is asserting that most men i…

Just to make things crystal clear, here is a summary list of entitlements that women enjoyed in marriage (and after marriage) during the old "patriarchal" system of the past. When a woman married, she had to hand over her property to her husband's care (again, NOT because she herself was property, but because he was administrator of the family), but he OWED her not just a living, but the best living he was financially capable of providing for her. A wife was entitled to be maintained by her husb…

Except you did. You replied to a fair complaint by a user with a condescending justification. I called you out for that and now you're saying I don't acknowledge different perspectives? Also, my argument was that even though women commit crimes more than people think, they are far less likely to be arrested for that which creates a false narrative that most criminals are men.
/r/MensRights05/12/24 07:56 PM

You literally said that men are more likely to commit crime thus implying it's okay to target men unfairly. And let's not forget how high the rate of unfair targeting is.
/r/MensRights05/12/24 07:15 PM

As for the second one, I'm not sure where you got that I think women are more likely to commit crime than people think - I just said men are more likely to and that study does also side with that. So what? If blacks commit more crime, by your logic that justifies the unfair police targeting? If your answer is no, then you should apply the same logic in this case too.

I think Table 2 summarises what I'm trying to say pretty well - the significant difference of the frequency of crimes says it all. Table 2 does NOT show the frequency of crimes; it shows the no. of prisoners. What are you even talking about? Assuming this was compared to men, the study you provided - whilst showing some difference - the difference is not 'high' at all which can be seen in Table 3. What? The table clearly shows huge difference between the male and the female prisoners. Also they …

And I never said women don't commit violent crime, I just said men are more likely to. So? How does that justify police targeting?
/r/MensRights04/12/24 04:53 AM

The first link is based on clearance rates which is different to targeting. Clearance involves the resolving of cases that have already been opened, whilst targeting refers to the response of a crime before a case has been opened. Both suffer from biases which could definitely be linked together but in this context they're separate issues. Also the individuality of the crime is a crucial factor in clearance rates, whilst targeting is more so on bias without the actual crime itself. Are you blind…
