Bad for who?

Anything can be true when you lie.

A lot of bad things happen all the time and if I’m accused of them I’ll still be offended.

It’s not easy. The other option being hard isn’t an excuse or changes the definition of cheating though. Even though it’s not easy, people divorce all the time. And good luck in an eventual divorce if your partner finds proof of your cheating.

I don’t. So if their marriage takes a turn to that they should try to fix it or leave and not cheat.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/22 03:37 PM
4

I didn’t say that, I said your example doesn’t work because no one needs to watch a tv show. So maybe turn that r/whoosh on yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/22 03:36 PM

No there isn’t. Consent quite literally means “permission for something to happen or agreement to do something.”
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/22 03:31 PM
3

What did I miss?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/22 03:29 PM
4

Not how consent works. There is no such thing as consenting to something not happening.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/22 03:26 PM
11

It should be considered cheating. Like I said, “I had a really good reason” shouldn’t change the definition of cheating. No one needs to watch a tv show. But in the very weird case of a couple who agreed to never watching a tv show alone, watching a tv show alone would be a violation of the relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/22 03:22 PM
15

All you have to do is tell your partner and if they stay it is an open relationship, not cheating. If you mean not telling your partner, that is cheating and “but I have a really good reason” doesn’t make it not cheating.

I was about to say that I’m pretty sure I read this exact story months ago but now it’s been slightly edited.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/22 03:12 PM

It’s about a chef in Chicago basically.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/22 09:38 PM

It’s an FX show. They might have a contract with another streaming service in your country.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/22 09:38 PM

I’m kind of hoping they don’t do a new season because it ended perfectly. But it’s really popular so they probably will.

I think this is clearly less about Lilith’s opinion taken at face value and more about her insane laser-focused obsession with this subject.

Cool. We’re talking about January 6 though.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/22 03:23 PM

Is there anything worse than your work phone ringing nonstop the day before you go on vacation? I’m already gone, people. Leave me alone.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/22 05:12 PM

Yep. And what’s even more fucked up is that people will post stuff like that to fish for other people’s stories in the comments. People should be very careful sharing their stories on the internet.

Is there any practical way to increase incentives to have children for white Europeans only? Seems like a fools errand.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 04:47 AM

Since Europeans generally don’t want to come to America anymore and people are reproducing interracially, that seems like a waste of time if it’s about white euro reproduction. But we’re getting into rule breaking territory now 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 04:16 AM

Haha Tucker confirmed mod on r/stupidpol
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 04:11 AM

No I’m surprised a conservative thinks anyone but the father or extended family should pay for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 04:04 AM

Wait…Tucker Carlson supports maternity leave???
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 04:00 AM

Why do you think the Supreme Court even works on the weekend?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/22 03:43 AM

I just refuse to get into screaming matches the way my parents did before they divorced. I won’t ever raise my voice at my husband. We disagree for sure and talk it out but I refuse to lose control.

/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 05:07 PM

Your original comment was about women using sex as a weapon against pro-life men, not all men. If we accept that refusing sex to pro-life men is weaponizing sex (I don’t really), it is still only aimed at a certain kind of man. I never asserted that men are more pro-life than women.

Sexual violence, limiting or eliminating access to birth control.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 04:58 PM

Women should use sex as a weapon since it is used as a weapon against them. Change my mind.

What’s real funny though is that these same men are almost certainly not “elite” so if they don’t realize that the road we’re going down is going to make their lives worse too they’re extra stupid.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 03:49 PM
2

lol
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 01:53 PM

Those women suck too. They don’t seem to be on this sub right now though.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 01:47 PM
3

Their masculinity is based on hatefulness? I am confused.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 01:46 PM
2

I think we’re talking about the men on this sub who have outed themselves in that thread. There are plenty of men in my life who I love who are outraged about the ruling. And there are even some pro-life men in my life who are decent people and don’t “enjoy” this.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 01:41 PM
1

Agreed. Now that they’ve outed themselves as caring about “owning women” more than the prospect of living in a theocracy, we know better what we’re dealing with.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 01:38 PM

Jesus, the Roe v Wade megathread turned into a cesspool. I shouldn’t be surprised though. At least it’s mostly contained.

I can totally morally justify any woman getting an abortion. She doesn’t need a financial reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 02:42 AM
2

Kinda like pro-life people.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 02:07 AM
3

And strong doubts that they actually care now.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 01:53 AM

I don’t see anyone claiming only poor women get abortions but that the bans will disproportionately affect the poor women who want to get abortions.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 01:53 AM
3

I have strong doubts that you ever cared about BLM before.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 01:49 AM
5

I don’t understand why you’re assuming no one here has done that. I understand the other side’s argument, I grew up around it. Doesn’t matter, I think they’re absolutely wrong.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 11:25 PM
5

Men always have a choice when it comes to fatherhood. Or are you one of those people who thinks paying child support makes you a father?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 11:04 PM
0

Our understanding of conception and fetal development informs our concepts of personhood. Most people agree that human DNA alone doesn’t imply personhood. The personhood debate though isn’t really important. The question is when and how you think ending life is acceptable. Many people think someone on life support is a person and yet it is still acceptable to end their life.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 10:37 PM
1

You can’t measure personhood without using science. So one side is closer to a reasonable (and maybe truthful) stance than the other.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 10:11 PM
5

$300? What year do you live in?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 10:09 PM
2

Except pro-choice people will usually give reasons based in the science of fetal development while most pro-life people will say it’s cause Sky Dad’s self-appointed earth representatives say so.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 10:04 PM
1

Yep, that’s why I don’t have sympathy. Too many people try to go through life treating politics like a sport until something happens that actually directly affects them. That’s on them.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 09:16 PM
2

Republicans have been shit for longer than 10 years. No sympathy from me.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 09:13 PM

The general idea of that post which is that women should get a gun and use it against a rapist is okay by me though.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 09:12 PM

Cool
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 09:08 PM
1

Really? EVERY decision?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 07:35 PM
2

It’s the right thing to do. That’s not my point. I can only assume the person above is advocating that government prevent you from abandoning a mother and child, since currently men are able to do that.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 07:06 PM
6

Lol imagine being a man and advocating for compulsory fatherhood.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 06:59 PM
14

I’m confused. It seems like they’re talking about a hypothetical. You said some states literally allow post-delivery abortion. Where is that?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 06:24 PM
12

Can you link me to information on states that allow post-delivery abortion?

/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 05:54 PM

I can’t 100% promise anything to you but just know you will be fine with your IUD. I have had mine for 7 years without using any other protection with my husband with no problems. And with condoms you will be even better.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 05:35 PM
3

Unfortunately, I have doubts. But also hope.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 05:32 PM
2

Practically speaking, of course there aren’t going to be “abortion checks” or whatever. But you’re naive if you think GOP lawmakers aren’t going to try to make laws preventing women from doing this. While most get away with it, you’ll be fucked if you get caught.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 04:55 PM
9

“This is the new normal and it’s fine! I promise nothing else will change after this!” lmao
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 04:49 PM
6

But it’s a pretty important argument to determine how morally consistent they are and thus how much we should care about their views.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 04:34 PM
8

What percentage of pro-lifers care about born babies though?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 04:32 PM
2

I might but it’s also peace of mind to know that I am in control of it if, god forbid, he’s not in the picture or I get attacked or something.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 04:20 PM
1

There’s a post on r/childfree that lists friendly doctors in your area. I hate that sub but might go off that. I am 35 so I hope for less pushback. Did you get it done?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 04:18 PM
2

Yep
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 04:16 PM
5

Yeah, where is their citizenship and welfare? Why aren’t we producing passports for fetuses?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 04:13 PM
3

I guess it’s time to get serious about the tubal I’m always thinking about.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 04:02 PM
3

Or it’s not a selfish opinion and they just care about other women…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 03:52 PM
4

Legislators will be going after every attempt to get women in banned states abortions. This isn’t the end of this war.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 03:40 PM
2

I would have been reconsidering it already after that winter storm debacle.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 03:32 PM
1

Yeah I assume we’re talking about the same guy who was obsessed with comparing bodily autonomy in reference to abortion to COVID restrictions and requirements.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 03:04 PM
1

You think residents of small towns in New York deal with homeless people everyday or are you just conflating New York with NYC?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 03:03 PM
1

Omg I forgot about that guy. That was weird.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 02:57 PM

I think we’re gonna need another Roe v Wade megathread.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 02:53 PM
1

Right on time for some weekend protests
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 02:45 PM
1

Yes, people make bad choices all the time. Wasn’t really the point of my original comment though. It was to point out that the “hot man” or “good man” dichotomy is trash.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 02:29 PM
2

Luckily being with a man at all isn’t compulsory so there are more choices than “hot man I’m attracted to” and “good man I’m not attracted to.”
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 02:25 PM
1

So you just repeat the trope. If “no women” can get good men they’re attracted to then who is in a relationship with or marrying the attractive good men?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 02:23 PM
2

So women should stay single if they can’t get a good man they’re attracted to. That is the way.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 02:16 PM
1

I don’t suggest settling for a man you’re not attracted to but if you do, definitely wait for the man to pursue you. You might as well get one who actually wants you.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 02:12 PM
2

So why would a woman care about a good man she’s not attracted to when she can have a good man she’s attracted to?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 02:05 PM
3

Ah yeah, the old “hot men aren’t good men” trope.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 02:01 PM
1

At least do some John Keats. All my bitches hate Lord Byron and love their Keats.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 12:28 PM
5

People forget that average people couple up and live totally normal lives and even touch grass. The rating threads are the absolute worst. I means nothing to me that some stranger things another stranger is a 7 or whatever.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/22 10:55 AM
4

I just see comments fighting because some racist idiot said that “ethnic people” aren’t attractive. I approve of tearing into that asshole.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/22 10:49 AM

You got this, boo.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/22 12:21 AM

What’s wrong with that?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 08:30 PM
1

I don’t get it. You can have lust, love, familiarity, comfort, and security all at the same time.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 07:16 PM
1

Or do they just have more experience with men since men are easier to get into bed?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 06:44 PM
1

“Edgy” white boys who grew up around 1998-2003 never got over him.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 04:50 PM
2

That sucks. I do feel like there are certainly a lot of people who will say infidelity is wrong out loud while covering for cheaters in their private life.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 02:36 PM
1

How old were your grandfathers?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 02:25 PM
-1

Yes I know. So you have demonstrated how there is more to consider than legality when choosing to make a judgement.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 02:23 PM
3

This is why in the days of old Hollywood a lot of (usually female) stars would retire and go into seclusion in their later years, never posing for photographs. They wanted to preserve how they were remembered. Not an option in the days of paps and social media.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 01:51 PM
3

That picture is terrible and it’s supposed to make him look good….wtf He is also an alcoholic which I think really destroyed his skin. I don’t envy people whose careers rely on their looks aging. That must suck.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 01:45 PM
2

That’s fair. I do think generally that the logic of “it’s legal so I can’t make a moral judgement” is just flawed though and can lead to many issues.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 01:35 PM
3

You can care and make a judgement about things that are legal. It is legal in the US to cheat on your SO but most of us would call that immoral.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 01:25 PM
2

I thought the dudes here were big proponents of the right to have preferences but they seem to be losing their minds over one guy saying 18-21 year olds are sexually attractive to him.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 12:37 PM
6

This is the third thread about this post. You guys seem pressed and obsessed.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 12:28 PM
2

Ooh my comment made you mad 😉
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 12:00 PM
3

Normal, well-adjusted people find people around their own age attractive and will eventually see 18-21 year olds as practically children. I wouldn’t worry too much about what men here say.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 12:48 AM
0

This is how a normal, well-adjusted person experiences attraction.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 12:40 AM
1

I’m not talking about that though. I’m talking about everyone in general and, in this case specifically, liberals of either gender. They will get a little mad for awhile and forget it as usual and nothing actually changes for the better.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/22 06:36 PM
3

Can’t wait for everyone to act outraged for a bit again and then continue doing nothing about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/22 06:17 PM
5

Oh boy, good luck to you with this mindset.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/22 12:46 PM

Vaginal orgasms aren’t even that important to most women.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/22 08:03 AM

Wow, my husband passed out with his phone almost dead. I put it on the charger for him after seeing his low charge level. I think I might be the perfect wife.

The idea of getting rid of a perfectly good ICE car to replace it with an electric car so someone else can just keep driving the ICE car cracks me up.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/22 07:23 AM
2

Yep, my husband and I are fully committed to a hybrid or full on electric for our next car. But based on how the Honda has held up and how little we drive, that shouldn’t be for 5-10 years. We drive our stuff into the ground.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/22 07:16 AM
1

It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been driving an automatic tbh. Once you figure out a stick you are golden. You can drive any car.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/22 07:14 AM
2

I’m in a city with stop and go traffic so it makes sense. But I dunno why my mechanic was so confused because he’s a city mechanic. He did have a bit of his guessing that I’m the one who did it and not my husband (and I am guilty).
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/22 07:11 AM
1

I drove automatics for about 2 years before I learned stick.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/22 07:10 AM

Thoughts and prayers. My mechanic was like “this should have lasted till 100k, WHAT DID YOU DO??!” 😂

All I can think of is David Bowie in Labyrinth singing “Dance Magic Dance”…

Some white wine. We also did some snow which contributes to my late night shenanigans.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/22 07:04 AM

This is good advice I might utilize because I still struggle with steep hills. It’s not a usual route for me anyway but when it rarely happens I sometimes slip too much and hate it. I replaced my clutch around 90k miles and I’m not trying to replace it anytime soon.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/22 07:03 AM
2

My 5 speed Honda Fit was manufactured a couple years before hill assist was added. Still love that car. It is like a tank, I am amazed what it’s been through with minimal work. That hand trick is a good one. Never even knew it.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/22 06:56 AM
2

YES Isn’t that all it really is?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/22 06:54 AM
1

It is kinda terrifying but once you master it you will be able to feel out any clutch. My husband tried to get me to use to parking brake trick on hills but I never bother. I like to raw dog that hill. 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/22 06:50 AM
1

Yes, make him let you start in a parking lot. You will panic if you stall at a light with people behind you. It will happen to you eventually but with practice you won’t panic as much. My husband (then boyfriend) convinced me to buy a manual car then taught me in a parking lot. I felt comfortable on the road after only a few hours.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/22 06:41 AM
1

This is a great explanation. It’s hard to explain without feeling it though. But you can feel the point where the clutch meets the engine.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/22 06:39 AM

No you are highly unlikely to ruin a clutch by stalling a few times. Don’t sweat it.

That’s an unfortunate side effect of biology and our appreciation of privacy. The only other option is to force women to name fathers which can be dangerous for herself or men in some situations.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/22 05:48 PM
3

I’m pretty sure safe haven laws apply to either parent in most places.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/22 05:42 PM
1

True. And focusing on those other things while having an average size is perfect for most women. Which means that a man caring about his penis size is definitely barely about female pleasure, it’s ego.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/22 05:26 PM
2

I’ve personally never known a woman who admits to using one of those comically big dildoes. And they come in all different sizes according to preference. Some women use nothing but a little pocket size vibrator.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/22 05:24 PM
6

Well this is a good example of how men might care but fundamentally don’t understand women’s pleasure. Bigger dick doesn’t automatically equate to more pleasure.

“Emphasize their sexuality” is something separate from being sexual though. The original comment seems to be implying that cheating is a reflection of how sexual a person is. And it isn’t. Cheating is only a reflection of that person’s moral compass and their emotional and mental state.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/22 10:31 PM
-2

You can be a sexual person without cheating and you can be a person with a low libido who cheats for validation more than the sex. So whatever you’re saying doesn’t really make sense.

Cheating isn’t being sexual.

I have ethical concerns about it’s production mostly. But regardless of the criticism, anyone who responds to it basically saying “but how will I masturbate?!” is telling on themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/22 08:14 PM

I’m trolling. Riffing on how any time I criticize porn use a bunch of (mostly) dudes will tell me that I just don’t want men to masturbate.

You said women have a “20% chance of men spontaneously divorcing them”. The “spontaneous” part is pretty important here. The statistic on divorce filing doesn’t reveal it being spontaneous at all. Most couples discuss it for months or even years before filing.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/22 06:20 PM

I think whatever it is must reflect poorly on him. He’d probably reveal it if it was more about her.

/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/22 08:10 PM

Wait, you guys don’t stick a soapy finger up your ass in the shower? 👀
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/22 08:03 PM

Men (well, people in general) who haven’t settled down by 35 almost always have severe issues.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/22 07:58 PM

I really do not believe a gyno ever said this. It sounds like someone misunderstanding what a gyno said.

No

I think that it’s funny that the first thing about feminists that many people will criticize is their looks, when that is the last criticism that most feminists will ever give a shit about.

But what do you mean by a light finger?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/22 06:54 PM

Well that’s the next issue with the situation: his self esteem problem, which he should have been working on in therapy,
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/22 10:39 AM

If you are paying it directly, maybe not. The therapist would be billed to our insurance though and a fraction of the actual cost.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/22 10:02 AM

Well since my husband and I are working adults with insurance, the therapist would be a fraction of that out of our pockets. Can’t bill a sex worker to your insurance currently.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/22 10:01 AM

Better food, beach, Sagrada Familia.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/22 11:23 PM

Were you the one who said you couldn’t be bothered to tell your friend who anally raped a woman that he is a rapist?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/22 01:43 AM

It was someone I was dating. Think we had been together about 2 months then dated for about 2-3 years.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 08:20 PM

For me yes. I would prefer not to know such intimate details about a person’s pash that quickly. The red flag doesn’t make them a bad person for the sharing, but just not the person for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 06:50 PM

For me, the red flag would be that much oversharing on a second date, not the cheating itself.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 06:33 PM

This sounds like someone doing the exact same thing and expecting different results. Crazy. I think any woman who wants to be married should dump a boyfriend who hasn’t proposed in the 2-3 year mark and then mark sure the wedding is actually being planned. I have known someone who was engaged for 10 years before it finally imploded. That is embarrassing.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 05:53 PM

Yeah sounds stupid right? Who is advocating for an abusive teacher hanging out with underage students at bars after school?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 05:09 PM

Just reverse the argument: I can’t believe that conservatives care so much about 2A when there are priests and pastors abusing children! There we are.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 04:53 PM

You really didn’t give me anything to work with so here we are.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 04:52 PM

So you agree, if we are going to equate the two as equal rights that means that if we have financial abortion available then it cannot be reversed, much like biological abortion.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 04:48 PM

Glad you agree that the notion of a financial abortion for men is only fair since women have access to abortion is pretty dumb.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 04:46 PM

Is that for a week?

/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 02:15 PM
2

In the immediate scenario or generally? In the immediate scenario, north parent should explain that they need to talk to their legal parent before going forward. Generally, that’s up to the parent and child.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 02:10 PM

It is the original question though. The birth parent should say “I need to get in contact with your parent to talk about this first.”
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 02:09 PM

I think that if a birth mother circumvents the wishes of the parent of a minor child, there should be some kind of consequence, yes. Parents have the right to decide who their minor children have relationships with. Ideally, I would want financial abortion to operate like closed adoptions and have sealed records until the child reaches 18.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 01:59 PM
2

I think that the parent or legal guardian has the right to allow their minor child to talk to whoever they choose. If they don’t allow it and it happens anyway, that’s voided the contract.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 01:56 PM
5

You don’t get to have relationships with other people’s children without parental consent. Parental rights and responsibilities can’t be separated, you terminate all of it or nothing.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 01:37 PM
5

Okay, you’re jumping to extreme situations now. Sure, people will always try to manipulate something to their benefit. Not really the point here though.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 01:26 PM
5

Sure kids won’t be looking for money. How do you explain “I never wanted to take care of you or pay for you to survive and thrive so I terminated my responsibilities” without a head fuck? It’s all going to be official record anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 01:25 PM
8

Explain to me how it would be beneficial for a kid to chat with the sperm donor who abandoned them, possibly getting their hopes up that the man will want to care for them at last? Most people with absent parents will tell you that the push and pull of in and out of their life was worse than if they had just been gone all together.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 01:11 PM

No, I’d question who failed them to let them find their father in public at all. Seems like multiple adults not holding up the terms of the contract. And I’d say it’s acceptable for the sperm donor to briefly explain that they have no relationship and to not reach out in the future.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 01:07 PM

If you choose to talk to your child and have a relationship, you have chosen to null the financial abortion. If you do not want to pay up then yes, do not engage with the child you donated sperm to. You think it’s good for a kid to build a relationship with a person who legally made it clear they wanted nothing to do with them?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 01:04 PM

I always thought one moral for traditional men was to do right by and take care of your children.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 12:47 PM

I exaggerated it for fun but here is the comment I was thinking of: https://www.reddit.com/r/PurplePillDebate/comments/vbtxs2/do_you_agree_with_the_right_to_have_financial/icbgu1m/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 12:44 PM

Men will be like “we should have the right to financial abortions if women have the right to biological abortions!” “Okay, so financial abortions should also be irreversible” Men: “That’s ridiculous! I should be allowed to talk to my child!” 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 12:39 PM

How is this nonsense? Women can’t reserve a biological abortion so men should not be able to reverse a financial one. Isn’t this about equal rights?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 12:24 PM

Oh 100%. It’s a perspective thing. I thought 23-25 year olds were so grown up when I was 18ish.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/22 11:25 PM

If you’re that same age yeah you’re basically a baby to me at 35. It’s not meant to be taken literally, it’s a figure of speech. You are still of age and entitled to be in charge of your life but yeah, college age people are very young to me and usually have different priorities. Don’t take it so personally.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/22 11:19 PM

Sounds like these frats probably have the good booze and drugs. We’re talking about people fresh out of childhood who are basically still babies (18-22). That’s what matters to them more right now.

I was being cheeky mostly. If I was dating I would wonder though what would motivate someone to put that in their profile. I feel like you’re just asking to be taken advantage of in this economy.

True. Could be an inheritance though. Gotta put whether you have a mortgage and what percentage of your income it is. Housepoor dudes get nexted.

Are transwomen more likely to be on apps? They’re such a small part of the population so this fear seems more emotional than rational. But I don’t use the apps and don’t know what’s out there admittedly.

That was a reasonable decision. What do you need to get over really? There is nothing wrong with not wanting to be with a 24 year old who has slept with 50 people. Now if you feel you couldn’t have handled it if she’d only slept with a couple people, you might need to work on that.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/22 06:06 PM

I guess I just can’t imagine caring unless she was extracting money and gifts from these guys or something. If that happened, I’ll eat my words. Otherwise, these dudes are doing it to themselves if they’re getting invested in someone who is being too flirty on this sub.

I should clarify I don’t think most recruits are pretending they are doing something noble, they believe it. But they are young and swayed by propaganda. There are so many jobs that do way more for the citizens of this country. Our troops have at best an abstract effect on our quality of life but get most of the credit. Justice for garbage men.

You know if the existence of r/DeuxMoi. They have multiple posts discussing the case but here is a megathread debunking myths about Depp, Heard, and the case. I doubt that some magazine covers if fat girls is going to lead to people calling Freddy Krueger beautiful. Would be pretty funny though.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/22 12:22 PM

And then what happens? We see beauty everywhere in life? Yeah, that sounds like a terrible time.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/22 12:12 PM

I can’t assume why you are so protective of the concept of beauty. How does someone else valuing something different erode what you value?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/22 12:08 PM
1

This is a pívot. So fat people on magazines is undermining capitalism now? I guess the market will decide.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/22 11:54 AM
2

If your concept of beauty is based on what is on magazine covers then it’s pretty weak and way too reliant on social pressure.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/22 11:42 AM
1

If we shouldn’t insist that everyone is beautiful then why should it matter that the woman on a magazine isn’t?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/22 11:34 AM

That doesn’t answer the question.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/22 11:30 AM

Absolutely.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/22 11:15 AM

Isn’t that essentially meaningless though? If they felt invisible despite the fact that men they didn’t want noticed them, they won’t feel much less invisible because they committed to a guy they didn’t want.

/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/22 03:08 PM
1

I definitely agree. There are a lot of valid and compelling reasons to want to date people who didn’t engage in casual sex. But sometimes they channel that desire into hatred of women with different lifestyles and it makes them look petty and drowning in their jealousy.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/22 02:44 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/22 02:10 PM

I don’t really know. It kinda just all comes down to emotion and ego. I think find it hilarious that anyone would claim that men would act any differently when presented the same choice. They wouldn’t. A lot of these debates come down to jealousy. Men are furious that women can do exactly what they wish they could do themselves.

The only way I could see a revolution winning is if most of the US citizens agree with it. And that is highly unlikely. But let’s say it happened. All people would have to do is…nothing (national strike) and they’d bring this country to its knees. Your Bundy example is a poor one though since it was small and eventually completed. If Bundy comes back with a bigger movement that succeeds we can talk about it though.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/22 04:04 PM
1

I am not against the right to bear arms actually. But you guys are hilarious comparing foreign nations to the US with established surveillance and control of supply chains.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/22 03:29 PM
2

The US military did not have a widespread surveillance network and east control of supply lines as they would in the U.S. In fact, surveillance alone would probably prevent any serious insurgency in the first place. I don’t even think Bundy is worth discussing here since it was so isolated and didn’t lead to anything bigger.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/22 03:27 PM
1

Can you expand on that?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/22 03:11 PM

I cannot imagine an armed populace even with assault weapons having a chance against the U.S. military in 2022.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/22 03:02 PM

Yep. The issue becomes did this person hate women before their rejections or did the rejections cause then to hate women. And I tend to think the latter is too simplistic of an explanation especially when misogyny is so commonplace.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/22 02:51 PM
7

But they do often hate women as well. Does not prove the argument that it has anything to do with a lack of sex though. It may just be another piece of their hatred of the “other”.

I wore my fat ass pants today and got hollered at twice in a two block walk from the train to my house. I am a 34 year old slightly chubby woman who hasn’t heard this in a awhile. I don’t know whether to be disturbed or excited. Is this a PPD study?

I don’t see it. I see someone who got beat around and started to normalize the abuse within her relationship to the point that she became a party to it. And I feel confident in that since she has no significant abuse history before Depp (one single situation which her ex girlfriend has explained was a total misunderstanding) while he has assault arrests, trashing hotel rooms, and giving interviews when she was only a child talking about not hesitating to hit people.

So your position is that she wasn’t being abused and not the previous position that she was taunting her abuser because she liked to get in fights with him? I’m not not sure where you’re coming from here. I think that there is plenty of evidence considering it is a private crime that usually has very little evidence.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/22 09:52 PM

No, I don’t think someone who has been abused always cowers to their abuser. Usually there are still explosive toxic fights.

I slept with a pro-life guy once without realizing it at first. When he told me I just kinda inwardly thought yeah, if I somehow get pregnant (unlikely due to precautions), I’ll def just abort it and not tell him.

It’s also possible that it’s pedestal-izing women by assuming they wouldn’t do anything deemed wrong which is another fallacy.

If they are that into a religion which puts them second to men, I don’t think they worry about it much.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/22 02:12 PM

Yeah, you may have two peasants, one male and one female. They essentially struggle with the same things which is to remain housed and fed. But in the unlikely case that they can pull themselves out of poverty, one is allowed to own property and possibly vote and one doesn’t have those options if they somehow come into money. Also, side note, but being born and dying on your own farm sounds like a pretty nice life in 1779.

This isn’t an issue unique to gender. Whenever we think about the past, we think of it in terms of the people who were able to document their lives or had their lives documented by others. And they were usually the privileged.

Thanks for the first link. It’s generally interesting. But it doesn’t really fit the claim that there are women who cum from vaginal penetration and can’t cum from toys. There are also toys designed for g-spot stimulation.

In some sense yes. But we’re talking about the orgasm gap here. Most men will orgasm from sex with women, but porn is simpler and quicker. And while toys are also simpler and quicker, the guarantee of an orgasm makes it a better prospect than casual sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/22 05:57 PM

I think a lot do by realizing that toys are better than the majority of men.

It’s annoying how “cancelled” has become synonymous with “public perception turned negative.” Very few famous people have actually been full-on cancelled. Even Kevin Spacey just got a role in some crappy European film, though that may change now that he’s been criminally charged.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/22 02:30 PM

Well your logical leap from “feminists say believe women” to “feminists support men brutally murdering a boy because a woman said he whistled at her” is fucked.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/22 01:47 PM

Where is “believe all women” in her statements?

/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/22 04:21 AM
1

Ah yes the super mainstream “kill all men” feminist movement.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/22 04:17 AM
1

I wasn’t talking about that case, I was talking about “believe all women” which is a misleading mischaracterization of the movement. Just google it and you won’t find a single source of feminists pushing “believe all women” in the major search results, but only conservative commentators claiming that’s what feminists said.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/22 04:12 AM
1

They don’t push it. In fact, the only people I heard talking about “believe all women” (which has evolved form the origin of “believe women”) are the ant-SJW crowd.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/22 04:03 AM
2

Thats…not the basis of 4th wave feminism. I can guarantee almost all of them think the Emmitt Till murder was horrible. They are supposed to stop fighting for what they believe in because this happened though? Your point of view is confusing.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/22 04:00 AM

So what exactly do you want 4th wave feminists to do? You said “wtf is new?”. What do 4th wave feminists claim is new?

I think the difference is you dated other people too So I do think you’re absolutely right that the guy was insecure that he didn’t get a new girl as quickly as she replaced him. But I also tend to think that if you mourn a relationship enough to want it back you wouldn’t tend to jump into bed with someone within 24 hours.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/22 03:22 AM
3

If you wanted to get back together and he came to you, would the new girl not affect your decision at all?

/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/22 02:51 AM

I did it with my first serious boyfriend when I was 19-22. It was emotionally abusive so it was like you’d have the heightened negative emotions and end it then you’d mourn the similarly heightened positive emotions and go back to it. But I was young and dumb and manipulated. No one should be doing this shit in their 30s or 40s god forbid.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/22 02:50 AM

Did it? Took them a long time to get over that one lol

She should recognize that she torpedoed the relationship doing that and cut ties for good. But he is fucked up for highlighting that her hookup was black. Is that supposed to make it “worse” or something?

/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/22 11:38 PM

It could be that he revealed a point of view or a life goal that isn’t aligned with hers. That also doesn’t always mean he did anything wrong, only that she realized their relationship would be a negative in her life and took the initiative to end it.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/22 07:08 PM
6

It’s how it comes across when you dismiss that women usually have a good personal reason to stop seeing a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/22 06:42 PM
10

If a woman rejects me, its because she’s irrational and has no reason. And if she has a reason, I won’t like it. If I don’t like it, it’s irrational and invalid. Women are fickle.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/22 06:39 PM
1

I think there is actually a lot of LGBT content, especially for gay and lesbian. I’m guessing some of the people who complain would like to see characters who are acknowledged as gay but it isn’t the focus of the plot. The only recent example of this kind of “character is casually gay and then we move on” I can think of was Eternals, although I didn’t really like the movie.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/22 06:09 PM
1

I don’t know, I watch a lot of media and I don’t think this is true these days. The diversity seems pretty decent across the board.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/22 05:53 PM
1

Yeah, I know you were trying to point out irony. And it’s a bad example.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/22 05:47 PM
1

Or I’m pointing out that your call example is a poor one if you want to defend the police as useful since most of the time what happens after that call will not be preventing any crime or doing anything that will be a meaningful improvement for the victim.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/22 05:42 PM
1

I’m not against a law enforcement system at all. I just think your example of a person in an emergency situation who needs cops to save them is total BS. It almost never works that way.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/22 05:34 PM
1

Cops almost never arrive in time or stop any crimes. Their main purpose is writing a report your insurance might ask for.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/22 05:25 PM
7

Does it happen that people just fall out of interest organically? I’m sure it has. Is it typical for women to do so? Not at all. Something has usually happened to turn her view sour. Most people recognize this. It’s why we universally laugh at the “it’s not you, it’s me” breakup line.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/22 05:13 PM
27

If a woman was interested for awhile and falls out of interest, that means something happened that created a negative association for her with that man. Simplifying it to “women be fickle” can be construed as an attempt to avoid scrutinizing your own actions.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/22 05:04 PM

Why is Depp’s lawyer asking if the expert will testify that EVERY photo is authentic when he can obviously only testify to the ones he has seen?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/22 04:07 AM

Lemme just live chat haha. I think Heard’s team came in hot on rebuttal with the computer science expert explaining how photos will go through “editing” apps automatically. And he validates that the photos he saw which she submitted are authentic.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/22 04:03 AM

Depp’s side gave up a lot of their time. I don’t know that it means anything but it’s odd if they had a lot on Heard.

And that’s a fair personal feeling/preference. I think making general statements about rape being worse than murder is dangerous for the reasons I mentioned though.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 11:10 AM
8

I really hate this line. I would much rather be alive. And I think saying that rape is worse than murder also a) potentially legitimizes a survivors suicidal feelings and b) lends far too much weight to the idea of being “soiled” I just don’t like it in general.

I’m a feminist and I believe her in general. She may lie about some things (notably, charitable donations) but I have no problem believing Depp abused her based on the evidence.

1

That is such a cool compliment.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/22 09:47 PM

But it makes sense. Amber is at the landing facing Whitney. Whitney is facing Amber with her back to the stairs. Johnny comes up the stairs from downstairs and hits Whitney when he reaches her. Amber then hits him. Both of them are saying this.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/22 09:03 PM
1

I think it’s time. Sometimes I’m still in “save as much money as possible” mode leftover from my 20s and forget that I’m in my 30s and have worked my way up and it’s time to pay to do less 😂 And it’s cat shedding season so everything is extra mess
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/22 09:01 PM
3

I just watched this clip 3 times trying to figure out the inconsistency. Can you be more explicit? It really seems like the only difference is that Whitney says Johnny came up the stairs from behind her but Heard doesn’t say where Depp came from at all. Which isn’t really inconsistent, it just means that Heard’s testimony was less thorough.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/22 08:55 PM

Good luck!

/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/22 08:49 PM

I don’t understand what the inconsistency is. Heard never said that Johnny was facing Whitney when he hit her.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/22 08:47 PM
1

If Depp was close enough to hit Whitney, as they both claim, he would be close enough to push her down the stairs, either accidentally or intentionally. I don’t lend much credence to an entire statement of hearsay which was leaked to the public prematurely by Adam Waldman.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/22 06:36 PM
5

This is stupid. Celebrities are people with autonomy who should be allowed to do whatever they want even if it ruins their lives. Celebrity worship culture is the problem, not the celebrities themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/22 06:19 PM
2

What’s the inconsistency in the Whitney Henriquez story? She says they were standing at the top of the stairs and Depp hit her then Amber hit him. Amber says she saw Johnny strike her sister and was worried he’d push her down the stairs so she hit him in retaliation. It seems like the same story to me told from two perspectives. https://people.com/movies/amber-heard-thought-of-kate-moss-stairs-during-fight-between-sister-johnny-depp/?amp=true https://www.etonline.com/amber-heards-sister-whitney-…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/22 06:03 PM

How did you determine that her testimony to the events you listed are lies? Your post is essentially “she lied because I don’t believe her” at this point. There isn’t much to go off of.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/22 05:44 PM
2

I have seen her give a very clear and concise testimony. Unfortunately, most people don’t hit their SOs in front of witnesses. If that’s or admission is the only way you believe it, then that’s a pretty tall order. It’s interesting that #Justice4Johnny people want us to believe she injuries can be created with makeup but can’t be covered up with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/22 05:39 PM
0

She admits to hitting him. I believe her. And what would it take for you to believe that Johnny Depp hit her? Are the photos, witness testimony to injury, and contemporaneous text messages discussing abuse not enough?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/22 05:21 PM
0

CONGRATULATIONS 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/22 05:18 PM

How did you come up with her lying 91% of the time? Can you outline all these lies for me and how you came up with that number? Depp has been caught in several lies during this trial and the previous one too. But I’m sure he really just drank a glass of champagne and then casually and soberly decided to take a nap on an airplane bathroom floor.

I can’t read the full article. I think that even if the movement seems to die it still brought a cultural shift that isn’t going to slide back. In just the last few months there have been multiple stories in Hollywood of people getting fired or productions getting temporarily shut down for inappropriate behavior. At the very least, it seems that everyone is much more careful about this stuff now.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/22 11:32 PM

I don’t think it’s saying it’s dead necessarily but that this is a backlash which will reverberate. Just based on the two quotes, I don’t know what article this is from.

I missed the part where it headlined as wholesome news. When a 12 year old rape victim is pregnant, her health absolutely takes priority over catching the rapist, assuming we have to prioritize one over the other at all.

Do people dismiss the actual terms or do they dismiss their incorrect usage? If it’s the former, they’re stupid. If it’s the latter, I understand. Pop psychology is obnoxious. It’s not the same scenario because in European countries where abortion is legal it is usually legal at their top level of government. And in general, members of the EU have a process to leave if they don’t like what the union is doing, unlike the United States. Not to mention that all of Europe isn’t even in the Union. It’s just a silly comparison on either side. But my real point is that we need to stop looking at Europe as homogenous.

True in some ways. It is a niche term. If I said “incel” to my mom she would think it’s gibberish. But I also think trying to only define the term literally and not accept that it comes with certain connotations and that this ship has already sailed is a mistake.

I think maybe men think a high value man is who they want to be and don’t really think about who women want him to be. And this goes the other way too when women insist that a woman with a good career is high value and men say they don’t care. We want to be the woman with the good career. To me, having all these children with different women signals risky behavior and poor long term thinking which is low value.

Well in the case of church, these evangelical denominations usually have a patriarchal structure. The women probably don’t work and have more time for “grunt work.” Besides church, sometimes women just see things from another angle as well. I’d argue the numbers are skewed by people who don’t really want it or thought it through. 9 out of 10 attempts by firearm are successful and it’s not exactly hard to get a gun in most of the US. It should absolutely not be criminalized though anywhere. We don’t need to charge people already struggling. Gotcha. It’s not much of a binge show for me. Kinda glad it’s been a couple years since the last season.

I think that’s an aspect but you don’t even need hatred of men to make a year without sex easy. Women can use their toys and they get affection and intimacy from friends. It’s just not difficult for us in the way men imagine.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/22 01:23 AM
5

Meh, I only disagree with your middle point. Women could go without sex for a year easily.

Last episode of Atlanta is so fucking good.

What happened two years ago that prevented people from making their own healthcare decisions?

It really doesn’t seem like this was at all an inappropriate discussion for middle school aged children. No one needs to be explicit in school or professional settings but acknowledging sexualities really isn’t explicit at all. There needs to be balance here.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 07:19 PM
1

You’ll find the right balance soon.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 06:00 PM

So you throw your fellow men under the bus so you can own the women. How nice of you.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 05:34 PM
10

Okay, enjoy your child support! ❤️
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 04:55 PM
16

Yeah, making abortion harder to get is a negative for men too.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 04:51 PM
6

Yep, some of these states are certainly not stopping at “you just can’t do it here”. There will be laws criminalizing women for crossing state lines for one.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 04:25 PM
32

“Women can just travel to another state to get an abortion” Plane tickets, gas money, hotel, time off work, then $500-1000 for the procedure. Most people cannot manage this especially in a small window of time. Do people who say this live in the real world?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 04:14 PM
2

You think all women have access to Planned Parenthood? There are so many places where the locals won’t even allow such a clinic to open. Your platform seems to be that women have to live with their mistake. Hope you have the same energy for men with child support payments.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 04:05 PM
2

You seem to think a fetus is a person who should be entitled to rights which we’re going to fundamentally disagree about anyway so I’m not sure this conversation is going anywhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 03:57 PM
2

This is a good summary. Basically, they think that being self-deprecating is a shield against accusations of narcissism. When it can actually be a signal of narcissism. Which is also what I think Welles was getting at.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 03:48 PM
2

And I think abortion needs to be a decision between a person and their doctor, no matter what state they’re in. So far your entire argument hinges on the notion that people have other options they should have exercised. Which is true. But it’s not helpful at the point of pregnancy. I do hope you go this hard pushing for free access to contraceptives everywhere though.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 03:46 PM
5

People being stupid is not a great reason to deny them medical options. I think we should treat someone with lung cancer, even if they did smoke for 50 years.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 03:36 PM
1

That would be ideal. People don’t always act perfectly though for various reasons.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 03:32 PM
2

You have dared to exist in a way that doesn’t please their pee pee.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 03:27 PM
3

Sure, and abortion should be an option in that case.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 03:14 PM

The fact that 90 year old Allen won’t stop constantly making movies barely anyone wants to see tells me he is actually very self-involved. Chaplin was way more talented than Allen is, at least.

You may not know a condom has failed until you have missed a period.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 02:43 PM

A lot of men think they are totally logical and unemotional while nearly everything they say and do has an undercurrent of anger.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 01:07 PM
2

It does when that life requires my body for sustenance.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 01:39 AM
2

Because that’s where the conversation was heading? As I said in this other comment thread, from the moral perspective I believe that the quality of life of a born girl or woman takes precedence over a fetus.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 01:33 AM
3

Why are you and the other guy assuming I think morality and legality are the same. You asked who has determined the rights of fetuses and I answered. If you want to ask what I believe morally that’s fine. I think that the quality of life of a born girl or woman take precedence over a fetus.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 01:25 AM
2

I didn’t say legality and morality are the same. If you think fetuses should have the same legal rights as a born human, that is going to get quite complicated. How are we issuing SSNs and passports for the fetus? That means the fetus is entitled to child support from conception. We would have to prosecute women for any action that could harm the fetus such as drinking coffee.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 01:23 AM
4

The legal system, for one. For instance, we don’t grant citizenship to a fetus.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/22 01:12 AM
3

Life starts at conception. Full rights of a human don’t though.

Doesn’t surprise me that the Depp defenders can’t tell a funny joke.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 06:11 PM

I think there are too many contemporaneous text messages and photos corroborating her story for me to doubt it. Exaggerating may be the case but I’m pretty confident he abused her. She has not been organizing some sort of Gone Girl situation for the last 10 years. I doubt she is that smart.

/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 05:39 PM

The Johnny Depp propaganda machine and his parasocialite groupies must be getting desperate. “She’s quoting movies in her testimony!” Not even close. “She’s doing coke on the stand!” Are you fucking stupid or something?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 05:36 PM
1

True. Just a propaganda machine that gets passed off between parties.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 04:20 PM
2

Sure, you can and others do as well I’m sure. But generally speaking, most pro-life people also support a political party which is anti-social safety nets.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 02:43 PM
3

Yeah I don’t see the issue either. Disinformation is rampant and the internet has caused the problem to explode.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 02:35 PM
1

People who are making those statistics primarily about race are misreading it or deliberately misrepresenting what it means. It is true that black children are more likely to grow up in poverty but that isn’t what the statistic is about. It would be great if most pro-life people cared as much as you do about the quality of life of the children once they’re born. But it is apparent that they do not.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/22 02:33 PM
5

It’s not about race though? It’s about more babies being born into poverty. The reason it’s brought up is because there was a noticeable decrease in crime in the 18-20 years after Roe v Wade. https://law.stanford.edu/publications/the-impact-of-legalized-abortion-on-crime-over-the-last-two-decades/

Oh I am 100% opposed to banning the book. I just find the comparison jarring. Shakespeare va a modern children’s book.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/22 05:12 PM

Are you just being intentionally dense? It’s not normal to ask for intimate pictures from someone who has simply said “hey, I think I like you”. That is distasteful and a faux pas no matter how much you argue.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/22 03:33 PM
3

Where does it say she likes him for his pics? And that they are underwear pics?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/22 03:23 PM

You really think the next logical step after someone says they like you is demanding underwear photos? Romance is dead.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/22 03:18 PM

I dunno why this is such a funny image to me. Just her slowly opening your wallet but staring you down like “do something about it”
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/22 02:14 PM

The point of the tale is that they never would have done this if it weren’t for their family’s idiotic feud. I do think they shouldn’t be romanticized but I also don’t think the story is saying that they are wrong or stupid to fall in love. Comparing this to I Am Jazz in an educational context makes 0 sense though. They are not even for the same age range.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/22 02:02 PM

The cautionary tale of R&J isn’t that they shouldn’t fall in love, it’s that the families shouldn’t feud.

Yeah, I was exaggerating for effect. But also the post’s OP said they beat that person for a long time and my husband said he’d do the same. Do you actually need to keep beating someone a lot after they’ve kicked a cat once? Not always. But I’d sure want to. Animals are defenseless.

Not having a sex drive like a man’s doesn’t equate to not having a sexuality. This only makes sense to people who think man is default.

Not really, I don’t think I explained myself well. I more mean that I wish the Dems would play as well as Repubs seem to. It doesn’t seem that much of what they do works at all comparatively.
