Sad. That doesn’t sound like her fault. Didn’t you swear to love in health and sickness? 🤷‍♂️

My ex was smoking hot. And was somehow getting hotter as she aged.

My ex-wife’s friends who convinced her she would never be happy if she didn’t explore her sexuality with a ton of men. Broke apart a 10 year marriage that did have it up and down but two amazing kids similar life goals built each other up and had the whole world about to be at our fingertips.

I worked nights slept while the kids were in school and spent afternoons with them and got them ready for bed before going to work. My kids were my preferred social fun time. Was with them or with groups of kids and other adults at parks, or other child friendly activities.

No. But pull ups got easier. 😅

What do you mean. I have my kids 50-60% of the time. Had them 100% of the time before the divorce. It’s the time without them that’s frustrating for me. Sure the house is a little messier when they are home. But the little noises of my boys playing makes it all feel like home instead of a ghost of the family I once had.

Mine fucked me for about 9 months after. Best sex I’d ever had up that point too. Used it as a way to get me to do what she wanted all about control.

At least yours took told you. I had to find out mine was fucking other guys and then coming home to fuck me because she liked sleeping with multiple guys in the same 30 minutes and I could make her cum and other guys couldn’t.

I’m at 5 months at this point. She’s perfect for me. I’d be a complete idiot to mess it up. But it’s fighting every protective instinct not to run.

It’s been two years. Found love again. But I still don’t trust it. I just have this little thing in the back of my mind that I’m just waiting for her to leave.

I was so hyper aware of the things I didn’t want in a new partner. One hint of reminding me of my ex and I ended things so fast till I found someone who is so much like me sometimes is frightening. Best relationship I’ve ever been in.

My kids a year later still haven’t fully recovered. Don’t know if they ever will. Eating issues, had potty training issues for almost 6 months after even though he had been trained for 2 years. Still won’t wipe his own ass anymore when he did before. I’m honestly happier with my new girlfriend than I ever was with my ex wife. But that is just because she is a sweet amazing person who actually loves me and my ex hated me. 😅 got her to admit I was just the safe choice. But I only left because she …

Took me 10 years. I finally bought a business after getting paid off with zero job prospects and first month business was doing like 25% of the sales it was supposed to do. 😅 I was the most stressed I’d ever been in my whole life. And her response was to start talking with another man instead of giving me any support. Saying I’d turned down sex. Which I had for the first time ever. If the business didn’t work out we would lose everything. Bank had required rights to everything we owned and god I…

I did it once. Then only dated with intention. I would be upfront about wanting to build something real. If they weren’t on the same page I simply moved on. There are countless options just filter through what isn’t right for you. It’s worth it in the end.

It really is. My own mom was fully in the my kids come before anyone category and I’m still shocked that I’m lucky in that regard as I thought all parents would be.

My ex’s mom was a piece of shit. She found out her daughter was being molested by her husband the step dad and blamed the daughter. They are still married. Worst part is I have a very difficult time after the divorce because I can’t stop my kids being around her anymore like I could when we are married. And it scares the shit out of me.

I went from 196 lbs to 155lbs in about 45 days after finding out my ex wife was cheating. I’m 6ft tall for reference. Took months of therapy and a long time to heal but now I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been. And dating someone that is more compatible with me than anyone else including my ex ever was. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Just keep pushing.

No. Opposite for me. I care way more about who they are and how they treat me now. Wanting a true partner and best friend.

There is no going back. A woman who’s decided they don’t love you is determined. They have thought about it for years before telling you.

You know. I stopped looking and I found the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. More kind than anyone I’ve ever met. It was instant vibes and good chemistry. Similar lifestyle and hobbies. In fact she’s actually more financially successful than I am. And I consider myself doing pretty well. Now instead of worrying about if they want me for the lifestyle I could provide I’m focused on making sure I’m the best possible version of myself because she deserves the best possible version of me.

I used a moderator. It was cheap. But god. The dumb shit that’s in the default documents. From tiny holidays that you need to swap making it not actually 50/50 most years. Also have it in writing how you will celebrate holidays. Very important if they are important to you. You won’t even think of the issue till it’s too late.

She tried but it was more of i’m sorry I got caught not sorry for what she did. I have done a lot of therapy, but it’s a slow process. I still can’t emotionally attached to new girls. I date no matter how sweet and wonderful they are. So I’m just focused on trying to be the best dad possible for my kids I just know that every time I see her or have to spend even more than a moment with her. It takes me weeks to get back on track.

Her response to me telling her no. Like I don’t get it. But 🤷‍♂️ You’re slowly destroying any kind of hope of having a healthy coparenting relationship . Then years down the line I’ll be resentful and you’ll of course spin it on me and never take accountability for how you’ve carefully crafted this toxic coparenting relationshiph throughout the years. Sounds like me. But I was lucky to discover the affairs after 10 years. She’s now with a guys who’s family thinks it’s normal to do drugs with kids in the house. And I’m also very broken. I honestly can’t give you advice but I’ll tell you that you aren’t alone. I just focus on my kids, building my businesses. And I’ve become obsessed with the gym and pickleball. This isn’t the way. Only way you shouldn’t have to have alimony is if she cheats or is abusive. Other than that whoever leaves should pay the other one.

Plan is to expand my business this year. Hoping to double with some leverage. I had mostly retired so I could spend all my time with my kids. And had structured my whole life around being able to be there for them. So this adjusting period has been rough. Even going back to work is different. And I still hit the gym and pickleball almost every day.

So there is a lot here. And I will say. I have enough on my ex that if I took it to court I could get 100%. Problem is I don’t think that would be good for my kids and even though I want them 100% I want what is best for them over my wants. In fact my kids have mentioned how nice it is that she spends time with now. Even though my oldest has always mentioned he knows he’s not his mom’s number 1 priority.

I think the problem is I liked the dad identity more than anything else. I love being a dad. My ex didn’t even want kids. I’ve gotten back to some old hobbies and picked up a few more. I stay busy when I don’t have my kids. I just don’t like this version of me as much.

I took 3 months off work. Did therapy twice a week during that time and still do it once a month. Went and traveled a lot this last year. Actually won a small lotto a month after my divorce finalized which i spent mostly on growing but a lot on travel with my kids. It was like a little here you go from the universe after getting hit so hard.

Took me about a year after to get back to mostly normal. Still have to feel safe with a new woman or I can’t get hard. But I have pills I take on dates with new woman so I don’t have to worry about it. If nothing happens I just jack off and life is good. 😌

One of her parents or siblings cheated. Turns out she thought it was normal and I don’t want to know how often or how many times before I caught her. 😔

I tried to take my ex wife back after she cheated on me. She never stopped cheating just got better at hiding it. Maybe some people change. But I too thought i wad the exception. Good luck man. And get the dna test.

Fuck divorce. My ex cheated and stole half of my children’s childhoods from me and i still have to pay her for the privilege.

Depends. I no longer care about the cheating. And I’m glad she’s gone. But waking up to a quiet house knowing I am losing out on 50% of my kids life pisses me off. She stole that time from me. She stole it from my children. I set up my whole life so i could have all of the time outside of school with them and now i only get every other week. 😔

Stayed in the house. But she wouldn’t let me buy her out. So she still owns half. Freaking frustrating. But plan on moving asap. I just became self employed like right before I caught her cheating so have to wait for two years of taxes so I can get a loan.

I get it. My ex introduced my kids last week to her new boyfriend. Moved out after I caught her cheating. We tried again. She kept fucking around. And was at least talking with her current boyfriend when I told her I wouldn’t keep trying when she obviously didn’t love me. Fucking hurts when it happens. The cheaters seem to move on so quickly but I really wonder if they knew what they were getting into if they would be there.

When I first got divorced I couldn’t get up for months. Got some pills to fix that. Then couldn’t finish for a long time. It’s only about a year later that I can finally be consistent without pills.

I was left after I found out about an affair. Flat out told she wouldn’t have left if I hadn’t found out. But she said she had been completely out of love for years and just kept up appearances. While we were going to counseling and such about why she was so distant she never bothered to actually bring up anything real and that could have actually helped.

As long as there is a record of payment it should just be some paperwork. Me and my ex just Venmo all expenses and email receipts to one another so that we have a record. It’s only an issue if someone doesn’t pay.

Should have been able to recalculate when she got remarried. I know my divorce decree accounts for household income regardless of source. Which I did on purpose since I plan on making her pay me once she’s done with residency.

I get it man. Caught my ex of 10 years cheating. She didn’t want to work on anything. Just told me she was glad I finally caught her cause she didn’t know how to leave me.
