This brings me back to my point. We can address issues of unfairness in a system without denying patriarchal elements.

What the flying fuck does not being allowed to drive have to do with the father being the head of the household? It ensures women continue to be dependent upon men.

They may not leave the country. "A woman must have the consent of her husband to leave Iran or, in his absence, must gain the permission of the local prosecutor."

I don't see how that has anything to do with my statement. I said it's moronic to deny that patriarchy exists. People get butt-hurt because it doesn't exist in their family, neighborhood, state, or country.

The fact that women are not allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia. In Iran, women aren't allowed to travel without their husbands or male guardian.

The general consensus was that there are different types of patriarchy. Tell a woman in Saudi Arabia not allowed to drive that there is no patriarchy.

Patriarchy denial is as moronic as holocaust denial and saying we faked the moon landing. There is obvious evidence everywhere. In statistics and in testimonies. Clearly you are very emotional about this subject...

This is why MRM won't take off. There are too many poisonous sects and we need to denounce them more. -The religious "God made men superior to women" nut-jobs. -The patriarchy-deniers are as bad as holocaust deniers. You can bring attention to matriarchal double standards without denying that patriarchy exists. -The discriminatory tactless, racist, sexist, bigots who are just unthinking, unkind people. Edit: thought of another. The generalizer. For every radical feminist with daddy or BF issues,…

Maybe they should get a job after the kid turns 18? There's no reason to have PERMANENT alimony! If you really worry you'll be left in the dust after giving up your career, that's what pre-nups are for... Either way, there is no reason a woman in her 50s-60s etc. still needs alimony payments. She could have gone to school, gotten a career in that time.
