Thanks, that's interesting. I guess there's a fundamental problem when discussing these issues with men in North America. Conditions are very different in Australia. Courts are legally obliged to consider 50/50 custody. Ex wives receive no alimony and the average child support here is $50. I live in one of the most expensive cities in the world and my ex husband pays one dollar a day in child support! That would buy an apple. Meanwhile, I wouldn't think of moving closer to family, who are a thou…

Granted it must be a big job, but a lot of us also live in places without snow. How many times a year do you have to fix a faucet? I think it's really important for guys to take on more of the unpaid domestic workload. Sure, this would give women more opportunities to participate in paid work, but it would also give men a better chance at securing custody of children should couples split. Win win. Data

I think we live in an incredibly sexist culture which is hostile to both men and women. The wealth gap between men and women is only increasing, which is directly proportional to the custody gap experienced by fathers. We want rights? Whatever happened to liberation? It is no win for me as a woman, should my son be drafted. It is no win for my son, should his sisters be drafted. We could call it equality, but what sort of equality is that? Feminism has absolutely served its purpose, which was to…

Yes, it was called women's liberation, until the CIA got involved, and redirected it towards the false dilemma of feminism.

What? Yes! I've been treated like shit by campus feminists because like 80% of women I'm 'just a breeder.' Please don't make the mistake of thinking that feminists care about other women. Feminism (not to be confused with women's liberation) has one job, and that's to divide us.

I also read similar articles the same day of a footballer being let off for 'underage sex' with fifteen year old girl, no jail. Men are facing serious issues and the disingenuous presentation of information here is hurting your cause, which of course is the whole point.

That's interesting, do you have a solid source on that? I don't think the hypothetical gender swaps help because they are based on the misconception that the world rallies behind the female victims of sexual assault, and most men and women know this to be untrue.

I am confused by the gender comparisons. Men and women often get away with raping boys and girls. Most get away with it. I feel like Men's rights could be full of shills whose job is to draw people away from reality and waste energy on factually incorrect biases and silly gender fights. Meanwhile, shit stays the same.

I'm not trolling, I'm trying to develop my understanding because I'm confused about feminism. I'm only just starting to get an inkling of how deep the ruse goes. Even in countries like Afghanistan, where women have an incredibly shitty deal, men and boys (arguably) have it even worse. I think it's problematic seeing it this way, and you will have feminists screaming from the hills that women have it worse in Afghanistan. Again, it's the 'his and hers' set of the same type of thinking. I don't th…

I am concerned that MRAs can fall folly to the same bullshit as women's lib. I am worried that you are already being infiltrated, inverted and fed back to the public in a grotesque perversion of your initial intent. I hope you can beat it. I think there are fringe extremists among you, and infiltrators, who claim men don't have rights because women have stolen them all...this is a sham. It is the feminist sham in a nut shell, except with the sexes reversed. You can beat it. Men's rights are inex…

Feminism is not a solution for women's issues either.

When did women's liberation become feminism? I don't want equal rights, there are no rights ordinary men have, which could liberate me as a woman. I want the liberation of my father and son. I want my own liberation. I see these as being the same fight. I want symbiotic rights. I have come to believe that women's lib was infiltrated (just like every other human rights movement), poisoned, repackaged and sold back to us as feminism. This wasn't done to benefit women, but to protect the status quo…

I don't see any suggestions or ideas on your part to deal with the problem in identifying rape. Just more rhetoric of the problem in protecting men from being accused of rape. Nothing to protect men or women from being raped. A shrug of the shoulders. So everyone should just put up with being sexually assaulted? Because we want to protect innocent people. This is so ironic I can't engage on this subject anymore. Have I ever had sex? Fresh, I should be asking if you've ever been raped while uncon…

I very much understand why people may feel threatened by 'yes means yes.' I don't, however, understand why people's response to this perceived threat is to counter with the absurdly baseless claim that there is no rape problem. More so, I don't understand how the same group can advocate for male victims of female rape, when a clear language of consent is the very thing necessary to define such a crime. I don't understand why the threat perceived by "yes means yes' is not being met with a vast di…

/r/MensRights29/08/14 11:00 PM

So I guess we'll just continue with 99% of rapes going unpunished as the satisfactory solution to keep people 'protected'? Because I don't see anyone here coming up with any alternate ideas, just a baseless claim that their is no rape problem. Honestly how does Men's Rights intend to garner compassion for male victims of female rapists, if they want to brush over male on female rape committed in much the same context? You can't have your cake and eat it too. If it's not good enough for the gener…

So, the logical solution to other people raping women, is to sneakily film all women to protect oneself from being accused. I understand the logic but if the logic can be advocated, we're fucked. Surely men, with their low incidence of being rapists, and women, with their low incidence of claiming false rape; can work things out in a more civilized way. Or less sex for everyone in a culture of rife distrust.

I don't think non consensually filming bed partners is going to get someone out of trouble, especially with the efforts being made to close legal loopholes there too. You can't say "oh I just filmed her to prove it was consensual" because informed consent goes out the window when someone is being filmed without their knowledge. Yes film me means yes film me. I hope.

Yes I think the way we fail to prosecute or even recognize female on male rape, is the exact way we fail to prosecute most rapes of females. She must have wanted it because: a) she's a slut and b)she didn't scream no. He must have wanted it because: a)he's a guy and b)he didn't scream no. Yeah that's silly. Unconscious is not a yes. Scared and frozen is not a yes. Manipulation is not a yes. Yeah baby is yes!

NAH! You're wrong, dead wrong if you think that paternity leave is taking away something from women. It's a gift to us all. Women were raised in the same classes as you, with the same dreams and aspirations as you. But then you marry someone. Then comes baby and all your pipedreams of sharing child care 50/50 fly out the window when Dad can't get paternity leave, and most the parenting subsidies go to mum. It's systematic so that dad goes to work and mum stays home. Boobs have a lot to do with i…

Guys. Maybe you're missing what's going on here because you're not the sort to go around drugging girls, or looking for the most shit faced girl to set your pack on, film and distribute. I don't know if you get that this has been happening a lot, and I feel like you don't get it cos you're mostly not a bunch of creeps who would do this sort of thing. More relevant; this is exactly the sort of language of consent that people need in order to be able to define female on male rape. We must move pas…

It's the first meta analysis to gather research which specifically controls for the disproportionate stigma women receive for having sex, ya know, the slut/stud paradigm. Once we control for the stigma, which is cultural, we discover that women are biologically just as horny as men, if not more so. I just thought it was amazing that researchers have finally been controlling for the stigma, as apposed to blindly accepting our differences in sexual appetite as innate.

I think if feminism is inherently sexist, as many MRAs claim it to be, then the inverse must also be true. Separatist agendas which draw a line down the middle between men and women aren't going to push us all together towards the never-before-seen cornucopia of indelible human rights, which either side claim to aspire to. The separatism marginalizes both sides, United we stand, divided we bitch and moan. What concerns me is that the rights of men, women and children are being sucked out from un…

I can't agree that the 'collateral damage' is not intended. I'm actually personally disgusted that opportunists (of various persuasions) are using trafficking as a new bout of ammo to undermine sex work as a legitimate trade. I believe the industry needs to be made much safer for sex workers, and these laws will only make things worse. Framing all clients (men) as abusers prevents us from encouraging respectful behavior of clients (because under this law there could be no such thing). Framing al…

Don't play into the stereotype for the chance at a cheap shot. This is not about punishing men to save women. This is about rehashing the age old stereotype of victim/abuser. It sweeps all trafficking victims up with with all sex workers, all rapists up with all clients. It's probably opportunistic on the part of territorial females who would prefer not to deal with the competition from sex workers, and is so done under the guise of 'rescuing' all sex workers (from their husband's money). Elizabeth Warren suggests that we spread the cost of child raising amongst the wider population, so that children don't end up bankrupt at 11 times the rate of single men, and her research is actually evidence based. So you've justified women's poverty as both non concerning and voluntary. Now imagine you tried to explain to me, an issue that gravely effects men, and I just rattled off a bunch of excuses and justifications. Kind of like if I said; Men chose jobs where they'll likely die, they ch…

Your conjecture that women voluntarily choose to do the nations housework is based on what? Again, no mention of a quarter of the nations families who are doing the whole lot. Cos 1 in 4 is an insignificant number? All I see is excuses.
/r/MensRights18/11/13 03:48 AM

Um, women aren't cleaning houses cos they like it, they're doing it so the nations children don't grow up in squalor. It's hard for single people to understand that. Which partners are paying women for their housework? This isn't the 1960s. Must we disregard at least a quarter of sole parented families in your analogies? And when women earn more than men and still do most the housework? Didn't the aerobics link cheer you up?

Real issues? What would they be? The worst case scenario for MRAs is that you actually believe feminists have been successful, and by being as actively hostile, disinformative, prejudice, and sexist, you'll get the same ultimate victory. It never worked for feminists and it won't work for you. But to understand that, you'd have to be aware that women are still facing real issues, all of which, if identified, are glossed over with excuses as you have done just now. Women die poor? All throughout history women have been the protected class? Upvoting disinformation may feed confirmation bias but it won't make truth out of falsehood. It'll just make you think it's the truth. I feel like I'd be hardpressed to find an MRA who is aware that females still have any gendered tribulations, but that may just be my own confirmation bias getting in the way. Look at any magazine cover? You mean cosmo telling me to put wasabi on your dick to spice things up? Or you mean girly mags with all the liberated titties? Tony Abbot is the minister for women's affairs in my country and I'll be damned if him or you could list even three of the top issues affecting women (that you've heard so much about). Bub, that's where you're wrong. I strongly believe that if men where taken better care of by our society that would have immense knock on benefits for women, and vice versa. If there's one type of activist I can't stand more than a divisive, vitriolic MRA, it's the equivalent in feminists. Nobody has ever devalued me with more open misogyny than young extreme pseudo-feminists. I'm one of those breeders and I think men have fuck all rights; which make me the enemy. If you scroll down on the link I provided, it pans out that men and women are working about as much as each other, just that women are doing more unpaid work, which reflects in their earning potential. Unfortunately, once people reproduce, equal pay flies out the window. There are no worker rights for primary caregivers.

Little bro, I don't expect my comment to be welcome here, but you seem humble and genuine. Women retire with far less than men on average, due to the far greater portion of unpaid labor taken up by women. Everyone other than the women doing that unpaid work will tell you it's their 'choice'. Here you go.
