We don't allow posts focusing on any one race or religion mainly because they have nothing to do with the sub. On top of that, they often devolve into race baiting in the comments which means more work for the mods. While the post isn't the most inflammatory we've had, in the technical sense calling Muslims misogynistic and implying they're indefensible is a form of race baiting.

These types of posts do not encourage quality debate and discussion - they draw in trolls and edgelords and mostly end with insults and incivility from both sides. Apart from that, the title is not neutral and the post does not meet the requirements of posting in good faith. It also has nothing to do with TRP/TBP and would be more appropriately posted to another sub.

Your responses were almost nothing but sarcasm and bad faith arguments ("ftfy", "TIL"), with little to no substance. This is a debate sub, not a place to try and antagonise people. You need to follow the rules and engage, not attack. If you feel that others are breaking the rules, report the comments and we'll handle it. Don't respond in kind.

Your hostility is showing, though. Asking questions is hostile now? And you accuse mods of tone policing comments. Doesn't seem to be going so well for you there. It's going a lot better than anyone who doesn't have access to the mod queue would know about. Though like I said before, we're not god. We mostly rely on people to report content that breaks the rules if we don't happen across it, so by all means, whatever you feel is circlejerking that's being missed or overlooked by us, send it thro…

So it was reported by someone not directly involved in the conversation is what you're saying? Someone who was not a part of the discussion, and who somehow got more offended by my words than the person I was actually talking to reported it, and their opinion is somehow relevant? Makes total sense. What difference does that make? It's a violation of the rules, it doesn't matter who reported it. Action is taken based on the content of the reported comment, not the circumstances under which it was…

We're not god, we're not everywhere on the sub all the time. Yes, this got reported today and I responded when it did. So sorry I didn't catch your rule breaking more promptly, but there's no statute of limitations, so that hardly matters. We don't have the power to see who downvotes, all we can do is disable the option on the sub (which people can get around) and watch for people admitting to it to reprimand them. I get downvotes the majority of the times I take mod action in the sub, like dire…

The post wasn't removed it because I thought there was sinister intent or the comments were inflammatory, but you need to understand that the rules are what they are for a reason. The long and short of it is, this is a debate sub. We don't want threads full of people agreeing with and patting each other on the back. We introduced the rule because these types of titles tend to provoke circlejerking - one side dominating the conversation with nothing but agreement and upvoting each other to the to…

No, /u/Red_pill_junkie, you definitely personally attacked the OP. I'm not going to go through one by one to point out each instance, as quite frankly, I'm sick of playing "but it wasn't really a personal attack!" with every second user that gets pulled up for this, but as one example I'll point to "what colour is the sky in your version of reality?" The comment I responded to was also a personal attack, as you've flat-out stated that only someone with low mental capacity would believe what the …

Referring to the mental capacity of the person you're talking to is considered a personal attack. As well as that, you have consistently attacked the OP in this thread. It could be TOR related... I've no idea if that's a thing that happens automatically, an admin rule or if there's another reason for it altogether. Just thought it was best to let you know so you could deal with it if you wanted to. It was never about the content of the post... if the issue was that you're not allowed to discuss this topic at all, this one would've been removed, too. There's plenty of posts disagreeing with feminism that don't get removed, because they're argued in good faith. Your initial post was nowhere near identical to this one. Just to cite an example, your reply to the one comment that appeared before the post was removed: It's not your job to question her. Everyone should assume every woman is telling the truth. Always. Literally the whole post (apart from the description of the book itself) was the same kind of circlejerking. As mods, yes, we pick and choose what to allow. It's not regardless of the rules, as we've always removed posts calling out individuals and/or personally attacking users. What happened to donated money is not a relevant topic here regardless of what it's being donated for, and it's is a witch-hunt if you go out of your way to link it to a specific user and accuse them of running a scam. You're welcome to message modmail if you're unhappy with this decision and see what the other mods have to say…

We don't allow posts calling out users, and really, this question cannot be phrased in a way that will make it relevant to this sub. PPD is here to discuss RP/BP sexual strategies and general gender politics, not to discuss happenings on TRP that have nothing to do with any of that.

To be honest, no. There needs to be a divide in questions for BP/RP, otherwise we open the floor to circlejerking (ex, here's why I'm here, but here's why I think BPers are here). Even if RPers just include their own answer about why they're here, without commenting on BP, but their comment gets voted to the top, it defeats the purpose of having the flair in the first place. That's why rule 4 was introduced, because it's necessary to stop either RP or BP answering on behalf of the other, or over…

You're welcome to take it to modmail if you like, but I stand by removing it. A post about rape culture is one thing, and has a definite link to the PPD community - you'll notice there's another post about rape culture on the front page of the sub right now which hasn't been removed and won't be. A post asking if one specific religion is a rape culture has little to nothing to do with PPD/TRP/TBP at all, and given the timing of the post, is more about stirring up shit than having any kind of rea…

Mods are not here to tell you exactly what to write, I'm just telling you to follow the guidelines of the sub. However, removing the terms "bloopers" and "gaping hypocrisy" would be a good start. This sub is meant to encourage civil, productive discussion between users of different world views, and antagonising people with inflammatory titles is not the way to do that. This being a "debate" sub, how is somebody supposed to "debate" a comment that they cannot see? People are capable of joining a discussion if they weren't there for the start of it, and are capable of responding to one comment no matter what the parent comment may have said. Essentially if people who are on the approved list make a post, it appears immediately. If anyone who's not on the list makes a post, it would need to be approved by a mod before it appears. It's to cut down on the amount of posts from people who either don't follow the rules or who haven't been here for very long and maybe don't know the guidelines as well. It won't prevent trolling, but it should significantly cut down on troll posts, at least.

But now, the CMV posts that do contribute but don't directly counter the OP get deleted, which is bad. What about a rule-loosening on CMV posts that says that rephrasings of the OP that provide a different perspective on the OP are allowed too? Allowing top level comments in CMV threads that are not challenging the view of the OP can (and will) lead to threads full of people agreeing with/upvoting each other, and stifling any real debate or discussion. If the post is CMV, and it's all just agreement and backslapping, it's not on topic. This isn't the place to post your opinion and have discussion about how right you are. If people aren't here to actually engage with the other side, they don't have reason to be here at all. Sorry if some people don't like the rules, but our focus isn't popularity, it's facilitating discussion and debate.

Who is it really circlejerking though? The people who have had comments removed were circlejerking, OP is not. She's given an indication of what she finds attractive, and asked other women for their opinions. If I said that "Am I the only one here who doesn't like modern, confident women?" and then proceed to list off the traits of a radfem clown, would that mean I can't be corrected? And only RP men can reply as we circlejerk our hatred of "empowered women". Both RP and BP men would be allowed …

Alright, what does it take for someone to be a leader? What qualities must that individual express? It depends on the situation they're attempting to lead. I'm not getting any further into definitions, I've said that I don't want a leader in my personal relationship, not that nobody should ever want that. I find it unnecessary, and I wouldn't want to be a leader in a relationship any more than I'd want to be led. No, but a 7 year live-in relationship is not a marriage. So a government approved r…

Fine. Define "leadership." Saying a "leader" is "one who leads" offers nothing more than a semantic description. Better than "an inspiration". I'm not saying that nobody's experience is as deep or valuable, but I think that being married might better qualify me to discuss a marriage strategy than someone who has never tried to apply marriage strategies. So a 7 year live-in relationship is more similar to a fling than a marriage, or what? You're downplaying other people's lives and experiences to…

You have got to be shitting me. You really just defined your term using the same term (with the addition of one word - "commands")? You really need to think a little more deeply about the words that you are discussing. That's literally what the term means, and the dictionary definition. Sorry it's not good enough for you. TRP likes to redefine things, but I don't. Only agree if the partnership is based on a lifetime commitment. Otherwise, they are not at all the same. I've done both, and they ar…

Sorry, but I've got no interest in having kids, and that's not even remotely what we were discussing. And wow, being unmarried must mean I have no experience with long term relationships at all! I'm not married, I don't have kids, I have my own home and job. I don't see what else I "need" men for, honestly, but that doesn't mean I don't want them around, enjoy their company, or want to have all the sex with them. But note I also said the best things they can provide, not the only things. There's a lot more that draws me into LTRs, but those two really are my favourites. :)

And if that works for you and your wife, fine. TRP idea that men should be the "captain" is what I'm talking about, not the individual choices people make. For me, I don't need a leader - I'm running my own shit just fine. The best things a man can provide for me are sex and laughter. I don't think it's particularly uncommon for women to feel that way, and I think TRP almost reads like a male power fantasy when it talks about "captain" and "first mate" scenarios.
