it’s the whole “i don’t need a man!” philosophy. they want to show men that they are capable of living a life without someone; whether it be emotionally, financially or mentally. they’re single because they want to be.

I can completely understand where you're coming from in regards to forcing him to spend time with you. BUT you have to understand that he chose you as his wife. He obviously likes spending time with you! I know it might feel like your an obligation at this time, but it's also a very stressful time for both of you with your respective programs. you have to lay down that ground work or your marriage won't last.

You need to communicate this to your husband. He is your partner and your person to lean on. Although it is only temporary situation, that doesn't mean you have to be miserable for the next few months/years for the larger picture. you both need to put in the effort at a relationship. tell him how much you've missed him. let him know that you understand that he's very busy trying to provide for your future but that you miss spending time with him. spend one night a week at the dinner table withou…

I'm very sorry that you're going through this. On contrary to belief, becoming pregnant isn't as easy as they make it out to be. My husband and I are expecting our first, but I went through quite a bit of emotional turmoil to get here. I am in my mid-thirties. I blamed myself for awhile. The whole process was extremely frustrating. Please do not blame yourself. It's not your fault. It's not your husbands fault. No, you didn't wait too long. Unfortunately, these things just happen. hug

OP, there's nothing wrong with that lifestyle, but it's definitely not something that you agreed to when you got involved in this relationship. I am extremely concerned for your safety. This is not just any old red flag. This is THE RED FLAG. The one where you should not be with this person. He does not respect you. And honestly? You don't really respect yourself if you are allowing him to treat you this way. No matter what your n count is, a Captain does not do this to the person that they care…

A plant is a great idea, however, succulents require quite a bit of sunlight.

I found this on Amazon. Personally, I have not read it, but once my husband and I start our own little family, I will have to add it on my reading list.

You mentioned that the two of you have good communication. You should try talking to him. Although it seems that he might have checked out. Maybe it was your fault, maybe he found someone else. But I'm a strong believer that it all comes down to timing. You might be over your ex, but it sounds like you still have a bit to work on. Trusting someone takes time, and maybe he's no longer interested in waiting. I know that you didn't say this so correct me if I'm wrong as there was some implication..…

I think you might be in the wrong subreddit. Most women here are looking to settle down. Why should this guy in your life invest himself in you when you want to "just have fun"? Your definition of having fun is often very different from a guys definition. You might not want to believe this, but he thinks that you want to fuck around with randoms. That you'll settle down with someone when you're used up. So beside the age-gap problem I don't see any reason why he wouldn't date me. That's what he …

The only thing you need to fix is your attitude about not being good enough. Those 3 relationships you were in are not a reflection of you. It is a reflection of how they treated you poorly. I'd say good riddance. You'll find your captain one day. Just keep working on yourself.

Personally, I would ask what his intentions are. Traveling for 2 months is a significant time especially when titles are not established. He might not behave like you're a plate, but you might find him treating you differently upon your return. I'm on mobile, so I cannot see if you have any flair, but your post never mentioned your age. Whether you're in your 30s or even early 20s, I have always believed in making ones intentions known. Do not waste your time on someone that doesn't want the sam…

I'm not able to find many video's on youtube. This is the only decent one I could find. Graceful walking was one of the subjects that were taught in finishing school, including table manners, etc. I personally never attended finishing school (oh, how I wish it were still in existance!) but I remember these young women carrying books atop their heads. This helped the individual to keep a slow and even pace while keeping their head held high. It's incredibly hard. There's a reason why no one reall…

In my experience, most men do not gawk or make inappropriate comments. The ones that do comment, will find ways to say something even if you were wearing a plastic bag. You can ignore them or you can say "thank you". I often go with the former. However, I know of plenty of women that say "thanks", not because they're graciously accepting their praise, but to avoid conflict. As for dressing more femininely, you will become more comfortable in them. Personally, dressing up makes me feel more confi…

I feel the closeness and trust between us has been compromised and I can't help but feeling like he's manipulating me to gain control and ultimately satisfy himself at my expense. Do you really feel this way? Do you believe that you married someone that would manipulate you and put you into harms way? I'm sorry, but it sounds as if you don't trust your husband (even before his RP discovery). So now you have to break it down by asking yourself why you chose to marry someone that you cannot put yo…

I have purchased things from YesStyle, but never clothing. I wasn't entirely ready to order clothing from them. I have often found their clothing to be very cute! So thank you so much for mentioning this.

There's no easy way to start. I read recently on r/xxfitness that it doesn't matter how frequently you go to the gym as long as you manage to go at least once a week. One a week is still better than not going. Start off small. Make small changes to your diet. I'm not a big fan of removing bad food here because that makes me only want it more. I'm doomed to fail. Instead, substitute for healthier options. I'm a bit of a planner. I have chores scheduled into my calendar because it helps me keep tr…

Sure! Someone mentioned in the IRC that they they would also be interested in seeing something come of my post. As I mentioned in my OP, RPW does not require one to wear feminine clothing. Although it's not a requirement, I'm sure quite a few of us do. It's a part of our nature, I think. r/FFA doesn't inspire a lot of feminine wear. There's a lot of sack dresses, and athletic wear. There's nothing wrong if you do wear these, but there's no shortage of that there. Posts about dressing more femini…

I've purchased from modcloth. I haven't had too horrible of an experience, but I've heard that quality can really vary depending on the brand. I had purchase a dress from them from a respectable brand and found that the pleats weren't symmetrical. It drove me nuts!

That's a great question. I guess I really never put too much thought into a specific persons style. I like a lot of styles but also feel like I wouldn't be able to pull it off. so I end up in this never ending cycle of buying stuff that I only sort of like. Classic, sustainable pieces, but never something that I'm in love with. I didn't clarify it in my OP but I'm looking for higher end pieces. I have never gone to a consignment store, but I am always envious of those who end up with great finds…

Thanks for all of your suggestions! I guess that's where my problem is. I used to have a specific store where I could pick out my whole wardrobe from. I'm not big into shopping because I have to deal with other humans. Shopping online is typically my preference. I've never heard of MyHabit so I'll definitely check them out. As for Victoria Secret, they stopped making clothes! Albeit they were cheap quality (like it would be a different size after throwing it in the wash), I was always able to fi…

The smaller ones took about a week. The owl was a much larger project as it was almost twice as large as the other animal friends. With that said, these patterns were all purchased through Etsy.

You're in your prime right now. You're playing with the potential "what if?" scenarios. But "what if" he never comes around or he's not the captain you made him out to be? You've then waisted your time. I personally would move on because he seems to be invested in a lot of other things. A relationship being the last thing on his mind. He has a career that he's focused on. He also has a child that he probably has partial custody. Timing is often everything.

I don't always have that sort of dedication to my hobbies because cuddles need to be had. But, I like baking. I would like to invest more time making the basics like pies, bread and the like. I spend more time making fancier things like 3 layered cakes but I have no idea how to knead bread. I also like to crochet, and knit. I have made a bunch of amigurumi for my friends/coworkers little-uns. I would love to get into paper crafts like quilling and card making. zoo time! Edit: Paper Crafts, not r…

my SO and I "noodle". like canoodle. it's usually this tucking position or we just lie on top of each other (like two spaghetti noodles). edit: we make time every day to take our favorite pasta shape.

I met my SO on OkCupid when we were both 26. I was newly out of a LTR and he had a few plates in his rotation. I like to think that baking him cookies and a cheesecake for our first date won him over ;)

I agree with this whole heartedly. I'm very modest. If I had a body of a 10, I probably wouldn't show it. Especially if my SO isn't around. I'm not looking for people to check me out or to provide me confirmation about my looks. It was more of a question of "how do you not feel like a boy when you're doing boy things?" Because I feel like a boy. It probably has a lot to do with my childhood. I was an ugly duckling that had a boyish haircut.

I don't know about this recipe, but typically oil produces a lot more moisture in a cake. Butter will typically make the cake more dense. I do want to stress the importance of using the right measuring tools especially when measuring out oil. Use a liquid measuring cup. 1 cup of solid is not the same as 1 cup of liquid!

I went through many years of questioning myself these same questions. I stopped questioning his reasoning for not wanting to marry me because I realized that I was lowering my value for doubting him. I trust him. I know that he loves me. I know he wants to spend the rest of his life with me because he choses every day to wake up with me beside him. It's not you whom he doesn't want to be with.
