A quote from Nietzsche which I've always been fond of: Is the irony of Socrates an expression of revolt? Of plebeian ressentiment? Does he, as one oppressed, enjoy his own ferocity in the knife-thrusts of his syllogisms? Does he avenge himself on the noble people whom he fascinates? As a dialectician, one holds a merciless tool in one's hand; one can become a tyrant by means of it; one compromises those one conquers. The dialectician leaves it to his opponent to prove that he is no idiot: he mak…

Aren't we overlooking something here? How much time spent in school, residency, etc., before those salaries materialize? How about debt-load accumulated along the way? What about the opportunity cost in terms of lost wages for all those extra years in school, residency? On the other hand, if you are a motivated autodidact then you could probably train yourself to the point where you could pass the algorithm and design pattern questions thrown your way during a developer interview. Even if you go…

I'm starting to see this topic come up more often (could be selection bias rearing its ugly head), so I'm just going to provide a Google search term in case it hasn't been brought up before: Sapir-Whorf. The following link provides a decent primer, including recent(ish) relevant research: http://www.blutner.de/color/Sapir-Whorf.pdf

I was a Marine for just under 10 years, 6 of them in S1 (paperwork bitch). I can confirm that every word of this is true. This post really should be made into a pamphlet and handed out to every recruit as soon as he gets off the bus in P.I. and takes his place on the yellow footprints.

While I certainly don't speak for the mods here (or any other RP hub), I appreciate your open mind. That is really all TRP requires, at first. Evaluate the claims based on your own experiences and see if they don't have the ring of truth. I think you'll find that they do.

vapid moron that wrote this masterpiece of inanity. This is going in the vault. I.can't.wait. until I come across an opportunity to use this. Thanks for that.

Even trying to get them to remember any of it. I imagine that must be one of the most infuriating/heartbreaking things for guys going through a divorce.

I don't recall where I read it (although I have a vague sense it was in an article critical of The Chive), but I think the Meetups are typically sausage fests. In the one or two galleries that I've looked at of a recent (as of its posting) Meetup, it looked suspiciously like the only chicks were in tight, close-up shots with the founders. I don't think I saw any wide-shots panned over a bar full of hot, laughing, chicks and the guys trying to chat them up. Maybe I'm wrong; it's not like I'm a fo…

It is also, unfortunately, a "friend verifier" as well. It hasn't happened often, but when a "good friend" whose claimed he's "got your back" suddenly evaporates when shit goes down, it's really disappointing. It sucks that friendships are difficult to verify without the crucible of violence, but it's true. And for the record, I'm making no claim to internet tough guy status. For trivial shit (a spilt drink, difference of opinion, etc...), I'll be the first t0 apologize in an attempt to de-escel…

This. Right NOW the OP is angry and determined; two or three weeks from now the "what ifs" start fucking with his head. Unless the OP makes a heroic effort to bang any potential slam piece that even looks in his direction (i.e. preoccupied enough to keep the what ifs at bay), he's gonna have to deal with them. Knowing 100% that the sloot was dirty makes that process much less painful.

Reading this reminded me of something I read over at Wall Street Oasis a couple years back. Honestly, the tips in the link I've provided are more geared for ultra-high net worth individuals, but it is definitely worth a read and might inspire you to get creative when the time comes for you to monkeywrench your ex'es frivorce-rape proceedings. http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/divorces-beating-the-courts A sample (these paragraphs are why I copy-pasted this thing into a word doc in case it ev…

This could just be me in full-on douche mode, but I LOVE not holding the door open for women. I'll hold it open for another guy, because the chances are he'd do it for me. Recently (within the last 6 months or so), I've even started making girls open the door for me when we are walking together. By "making" I just mean I pause, look at the door, look at her (maybe toss her an expectant shrug if she is especially dense), and wait for her to open it.

TL;DR: This is true anywhere you go in the world, and transcends all language barriers. Some years ago, while doing some D.Dept. contracting work in S. Korea, me and this other dude went to a Korean pool hall (they call it something different and the rules aren't the same, but who cares) and met these two Korean chicks. One spoke English well and worked at Prudential (who knew they had an office there?) and the other one hadn't spoke of word of English since University and I never found out what…

I don't doubt that some percentage of hoes are introduced to "the life" without their consent, but as other commenters have noted, feminists refuse to acknowledge that any woman can freely make that choice. They are wrong. Some years ago, for a class I had to watch a PBS documentary on sex trafficking in Eastern Europe--which, predictably, was heavily pushing the "girls are 'tricked' into sex work" angle--and write a short response paper on it. I wasn't fully aware yet of the academic consequenc…

Edit 2: Disclaimer: In case it somehow isn't clear, I linked this in support of the "wage gap" as a myth. Put another way, if it were actually still true then someone would be exploiting the cheap labor. Say whatever you want about the consequences of his policies during his last years at the Fed, but I don't think anyone is going to argue that Alan Greenspan isn't a dyed-in-the-wool capitalist. Why am I bringing him up in this comment thread? I remember from one of my Econ courses my professor …

My only regret is that I have but one upvote to give. The tone perfectly captures the 10:30-a.m.-brunch-with-the-betchez hamster echo-chamber that they mistake for rational thought.

Without meaning to place too much emphasis on this, I will say that there is something about your writing style that (clearly) makes it difficult--for myself if not for others--to identify your point. In light of the comments you have made here to clarify your point, I would suggest greater care in the future when choosing a title for your post. This one, I'm starting to think, is looking like a poor attempt at comment-bait.

If you are trying to claim that low SMV men who are banking on the eligible-male-shortage as a pussy-feeder once they hit their 30's are deluding themselves, I might be inclined to agree with you. We are nowhere near the levels of scarcity required for the average woman to overcome her natural disgust toward betas (or however you want to break down the non-alpha population of males). Without some self-improvement (gym, higher-SMV friends, professional advancement, game), the best they can hope f…

Offtopic, but now that I know what beta-fry sounds like, and that annoying "question" lilt applied to phrases which are not questions, it was difficult not to be distracted by how much of I heard in that broadcast. I know I could have stopped listening at any time, but I thought the material was worth some annoyance felt on my part. Guys, don't talk like that.

+1 for the reminder about trickle truth. Not a new Red Pill concept, I know, and I've seen it before, but it had been long enough that I needed this story as a reminder.

I think a lot of Red Pill comes down to heuristics; it isn't a replacement for active thinking but will result in more correctly predicted outcomes than not if simply used as a set of rules. The problem is, we often don't have our full reasoning capabilities available to us. Especially in those unfortunate cases when we've contracted Oneitas or are lying to ourselves about the obvious (to others) signs of a failing relationship, etc.. All these examples, field-reports, essays, and so on are serv…

I don't, typically. However, sometimes I meet people that I think might be worth saving. Ultimately, it is so I can claim the statement as something I derived from looking at numbers instead of (probably true) hearsay from some guy on reddit.

Could I get a link to a report or some data confirming this? I'm not doubting you (anymore than I would doubt anything which I hope is true but haven't actually yet confirmed), but I'd really just like to have my ass covered by being able to cite the research, before I start using this in my arsenal.

Without fail, every woman I have ever asked (or been present in a conversation where the topic came up) this question overrates herself. Even after making it clear that the things they think make them attractive (personality traits, style of clothing, whatever) can't be factored into the assessment they STILL overrate themselves. I used to be at a loss to explain it, but the deluge of validation from FB, Instagram, etc... has cleared up some of the confusion for me.

While I agree that this realization is most profitable the earlier you have it, I'm going to disagree that mid-life is way too late to have it. Yes, mistakes were made and opportunities pissed away, but if some guy wakes up at 45 and realizes half (at a minimum) his life is over and has nothing to show for it then NOW is the best time to have the realization. The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second best time is today.

I've been out for a long time, so I couldn't comment on the state of affairs now. It used to be the case that a typical generic beta would get through boot camp and MOS School and fall for the first land-whale that batted it's eyes at him in the Enlisted Club. Having not gotten much (or any) play where he came from, he was pretty much defenseless after getting a little taste of the cat. I'm sure you are already familiar with the scandalous behavior of military wives while the husbands are deploy…

I usually lurk, but I logged in just to comment on this. Many years ago as a young NCO in the Marine Corps, I had to attend a day-long workshop that was heavily based on Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Now, without looking them up, the only one that I remember is 'Sharpen the Saw', which I understood to mean periodically refreshing ourselves with the concepts that we shouldn't forget (as well as getting exposure to new ones) so we can maintain a level of excellence over the long ter…
