life is better with more adventures than stuff anyway

only the miata is collectible and that's a stretch, though I do expect to keep it until it's the car referenced in Red Barchetta by Rush. My life just has vehicular needs, for adventures and stuff.

I only wanted an na, did not even consider nb or nc. There's something nice about the car feeling analog in a digital world.

Preach! this one has the limited trim from 93, red leather interior still cherry. That drivers seat might be my favorite place to be.

Never was a truck guy. Now I have a GMC Savana to camp in and I get it. I use it like a truck and an rv. It sure is sweet being able to tow, haul, and have tons of torque when you put the hammer down.

You don't understand. One car cannot possibly accomplish what these three do. The Impreza is fuel efficient and gets me to the ski areas that are in the commute distance. The Miata is for learning how to work on cars and is basically a street-legal go-kart. The GMC van is for going on long trips across this continent and it outfitted as a stealth camper. These are good cars you just have blinders on.

I can't help but feel that if I had my mind in a 22 year old female's body I would rule the world. Women have weaknesses that go beyond physical strength that are easily counterbalanced by men's willingness to be manipulated any lure from them. If you had the ability to seduce any man and weren't subjected to the emotional hurricane of the menstrual cycle you could be unstoppable. Maybe that's the lure of the MtF trans-sexual. Not that this theory pans out in practice. Once you start taking estr…

I'm one year ahead of you and I feel the same. I was looking through the past 6 years in pictures last night to find something. While perusing I noticed the shape of my face changed as I age, for the better. Angles sharpened and became more masculine. Who was it that said "A man's face is his autobiography, a woman's face is her fiction"? It rings true.

That's a bit over-the-top, but it's not unreasonable to plan for a SHTF (shit hits the fan) scenario. Things like owning a firearm, teaching yourself to use it competently, and keeping enough ammunition to allow for hunting and protection for at least a year. Also a decent supply of non-perishable food to keep you nutritionally secure in the beginning of a crisis seems like a good idea. More than that, I'd say you have an interesting hobby and may be planning for a fantasy. At least I hope so, n…

I think all these plays for diversification are great if you are already making use of tax advantaged retirement accounts (401k, IRA, Roth IRA). It's a guarantee that the IRS will seek their pound of flesh so shielding your income from taxes is a mandatory play if you ever want to retire. Once you reach the cap on the Roth IRA (5.5k/year) or reach the point of diminishing returns on your 401k (I defer 12% of my pre-tax income) other options become attractive. If you have 25 years there's little …

When people look at this presidential primary season through the rearview mirror of history it will be compared with the 1972 elections. People are sick of being bullied by the SJW intersectional victimology that pervades the public sphere but are afraid to admit it. Three? Listen buddy, as you get closer to 30 the women around you will be closer to three a month while single. You're going to have to figure out how you personally want to value chastity. You get over this by finding your boundary (frame) and holding to it. The "get over this" mindset is a form of male hamster. Decide what you will accept and stick to your guns. That said, don't toss away a good lay for some misguided morality. Just understand you may be overly invested.

Please invest your money in a retirement vehicle (401k, IRA, Roth IRA). When that is maxed out set up a brokerage account and do likewise. Save for an asset like a rentable property. Do not spend excess cash on bar tabs and the like. Pay yourself and live like you did when you were broke. You'll be just as happy. I reread your post. It looks like your priorities are in order. The "only take advice from experts" advice nails it. I've been a skier nearly my entire life. I've been an instructor, racer, coach. Some seasons my technique has increased by bounds, some seasons stagnated. The reason is simple. The only way to get better at skiing is to ski with better skiers. I'm willing to bet this translates to any skill.

You are 100% right. I only post things on facebook that idealize my life. I only show my best self, it's the highlight reel. Everyone does this. When I'm depressed and down I don't post. Sort of. It puts the cart before the horse. Being a man of value makes approaching women easier and natural. The PUA clownshow tries to shortcut real value. In Neil Strauss's book it was clear Mystery and his ilk had real issues and picking up bar sluts was just a sort of self-medication for them. If you put all your effort into pussy instead of yourself you can get a really fucked up perception of the world.

Yes. Even a man who has embraced reason and tries to look at the world objectively has inherent subjectivity due to the nature of being an individual. Objectivity is an unattainable ideal. The key for me is to understand that my views have inherent subjectivity and to reevaluate them as needed. Many women may lack this ability to reevaluate (and thus the hamster spinning metaphor). This is not AWALT. This is severe mental illness and a cry for help. I can see where you tie this woman's deranged fantasies to byproducts of feminist propaganda. But still. This is extreme and sick. This is the advice I give to my suicidal friends in real life. I do not think it's terrible. I have killed myself twice in my life and each time I come back stronger. Of course there is the due diligence to treat mental illness seriously but for fucks sakes man this advice is great. A real dowry is a great idea. My parents spent tens of thousands on my sister's wedding. What tremendous waste that could have been a significant dowry. Our culture and laws lack tangible incentives for men to get married. We put weddings ahead of marriage. Bad deal.

Your post affirms what I've come to believe. Invest in myself first. If I am happy, busy with fulfilling work and hobbies, and building my financial worth I am doing just fine. The upside is that living this lifestyle makes women flock to me, at which point I screen them. I no longer seek validation from women. By pursuing my goals they end up seeking validation from me. The main woman character in the comic is a true to life depiction of what a competent female engineer looks like at a bloated firm. It will require some serious spinning to frame 'Dilbert' as an example of misogyny. Scott Adams has just hit the point in his life where he is prepared for the consequences of just telling it the way he sees it. Good for him.

Pretend you are concealing a large caliber revolver. Would you keep your cool? I would. Nothing has ever made me avoid more fights and keep my cool better than concealed firearm training. I have the ability to address real threats and the confidence to brush aside a small slight.

I think that while there may be very powerful people who have major influence on world events it really isn't my concern. The red pill focuses me on what I can change. I can't topple a conspiracy of power brokers. I can, however, train my body and mind to be the best version of myself. Locus of control. Know that I am the master of my own destiny.

I reread my post after your reply. We share a spirit but our terms are mixed. Perhaps instead of modernism I should have put existentialism. We are having an existential crisis where we realize all we do is pointless. If nihilism enters, what is the point? The awakening is when I shout into the the void, "fuck you! I will create my own meaning". I like that we can have different starting philosophy and even definitions but still engage in some discussion. Still great to get outside my headspace …

What your describing is postmodernism versus modernism. Fuck postmodernism, I am a man, a human being with individual hopes, fears, and dreams. The red pill is a form of return to modernism where man realized he has the capacity to shape his own life. We can be nietzschean ubermensch if we reject the nihilism of consumer culture.

But this post isn't written for the feminists. It was written for me, a man. I'm a man who is starting to see some improvement in my life and dispelling these myths keeps me from backsliding. We all have doubts sometimes. This post was good for me as it confirmed that I'm not becoming a monster. I'm becoming a better man.

You sound like you have a strong sense of self. That's awesome. More importantly it's that strong sense of self that's attractive to the right kind of girls anyway. You do you, man. And keep it up.

This guy gets it. Also doing a cash business with any decent size revenue is just asking to get reamed by the IRS. They don't fuck around. Also, involved in some petty crime? Yep, the cops will seize your cash. If you play the incentives, capitalism is a game that can be won.

I use a credit card and keep an excellent history so I can have the lowest possible interest on loans. I think having a couple hundred in cash isn't a bad idea. Thousands? Yeah that's stupid. I don't want to work for money, I want my money to work for me. Invest, get returns. Compound that interest and become financially independent. Yeah, that's the ticket.

That's a damn good question. Here's my answer. History swings like a pendulum. We are reaching the zenith of feminism and a nadir of masculinity. All things being equal the pendulum should swing back. But this is not the case. Through technology and the civil infrastructure we have built with it we have made traditional male roles less necessary than in the past. For the pendulum to swing back we need a new form of masculinity. The arrow of time only goes in one direction. We will either adapt o…

I'm doing my part! The right to vote is sacrosanct in this country. The suffragettes of the late 19th century won a real, tough battle. I've heard it suggested that people who, on net, are taxpayers should have the vote. But given how Mitt Romney's 47% comment was received this would fly like a brick airplane.

The problem is guys love sluts. I love sluts. I just want her to be my slut. I can fool myself into thinking she is my slut. And it feels great, for a while. In the end she isn't mine, it was just my turn. And that bitter truth was a tough one to swallow.

Uphold my social status? These words don't even mean anything to me. I do absolutely nothing to hold status of any kind. Maybe there are things I do for myself that may be perceived as status by others but it's mostly irrelevant. The point is to not give a flying fuck about what others think.

I find it peculiar how much 'Fight Club' has struck a nerve in modernity. As for your call for 'project mayhem' style ideas I have one piece of advice. Subterfuge and subtlety. This isn't a social club or a gang. I'm not going to wear colors or advertise anything red pill. What I will do is be subversive. I will subvert the SJW paradigm by offering a positive model of masculinity. I will deny them the confrontation they so desperately seek. We are men. Ignore trollbait and go enjoy your life to …

It all comes down to locus of control. On this sub the message is that every individual has the power to improve his own life. That's an internal locus of control and it's a powerful thing. If I take responsibility for my own failures and successes I can become a better man.

I find it especially ridiculous to point fingers here. This place has helped me get over my anger and depression by giving concrete goals to achieve. By displaying a reachable model of positive masculinity the contributors here have helped me turn my anger into fuel for self-improvement. If anything the world is safer with this sub.

I don't think it's short-sighted so much as practical. Think of it like philanthropy. I cannot help others achieve their goals until I achieve my own. Through selfishness I can do the most good.

"Can I pee in your butt?" Can just asking this get you arrested? I know some types call the police for less. I'm amused and dig the theory as someone who has overcome many social anxiety hurdles but still has a ways to go. I've got to write a post of the mixed-up muddled-up gynocracy that is burning man sometime soon. You've inspired me. Without getting too deep into details she moved out and then plated herself. The ball is in my court for what to do with her. We share "custody" of a dog we adopted together 2 years ago. So the time I spend with the dog dovetails into a fwb scenario. Of course this situation benefits me most if I still date other women, hit the gym, and focus on my career above all else. It's amazing how the tingles return after a while once she stops being the focus of my life.

I agree with Rollo and he has a strong point here. Once the hypergamy is revealed there is no going back. I have been in a sticky situation in a 5 year ltr that is past its expiration date. There is no fix for my relationship, only damage control, improving myself, and getting a fresh start.
