What bothers me about the WNBA/NBA argument is that any argument you make could easily be applied to integrating sports during civil rights, and then it just sounds dirty. Like how allowing African Americans into baseball would have them dominating the sport. Or with track and field. There are many places here that exclusively hire Eagle Scouts. It's gotten me many a job offer in my field, music education. For the record though, yes, I am now currently employed as a climbing instructor.

Still, universal white male suffrage came about in the Jacksonian Era for the US. Women's suffrage came about in the early 20th century that's nearly 70 years of female oppression. Race oppression is in there as well, but women's suffrage was way late to the game. On rare occasion, women could vote, but it was very rare, and the women had to be land-owning widows.
