I just read The Wager by David Gran, a true story about a shipwreck in the 18th century and am currently reading Blindness by Jose Saramago.

Good luck to you as well brother. It’s tough. Someone on here mentioned reading as a way to occupy your mind, I’d highly recommend it. Started reading when I had down time and instead of dwelling on my situation it at least has provided an escape.

I’ve had this little voice in my head telling me it’s just master manipulation

Thanks brother. Reading has helped for sure. It doesn’t help that it’s a cold, bleak winter here in the northeast as well.

I’ve told her how I felt. But, she’s told me what she needs so many times and I’ve promised change so many times it rings hollow

Thanks. I’ve started therapy and thought I’d prepared myself to deal with the regret and the guilt in anticipation of this moment. But now that it’s here it’s like I never even tried to prepare. It’s like I built a dirt mound to stop a tsunami.

Thank you for this. I hate myself right now and don’t know how to change that. It’s so hard to be kind to myself.

Just the sense that I could have had a happy, healthy partnership with this person who was so eager to have one with me and I ruined it. I always build walls when people get close and this time it’s ruined me. It really is unbearable. Every minute feels like hours

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
