The over the top love and support victims receive from domestic violence shelters leads to more false accusationsEh, i kinda agree with you here. I’m trans too, ftm. I was sexually assaulted at a young age by a woman. At this point i was living my life as a young teenage girl (who by that stage already knew she wasnt really a girl) and it took me a good few months to actually talk about it. I hope this doesnt get misinterpreted but just in case it does: my transness has nothing to do with the fact that i was sexually assaulted. I was a very stereotypical case of a trans guy who grew up only ever making fri… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 11/12/22 08:56 AM
Finding validation in positive masculinity as a young transguyDude i’m so fucking excited too. Theres nothing sweeter than seeing other trans men growing facial hair for the first time and getting this look that is halfway between embarrasment and sheer joy. And I’m fucking hyped to experience that if i’m honest | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 11/12/22 08:38 AM

Finding validation in positive masculinity as a young transguyPeople also largely dont really give a shit about trans men. We arent depicted in media, whereas trans women are and often as violent and dangerous sexual predators. We are normally shorter than cis men and pass pretty well so. We arent viewed as a threat. I dont even know the percentage of sexual criminals who are trans men, again, because people largely dont really care. Which im admittedly kinda fine with lmao i would rather be ignored than viewed as a rapist waiting to pounce. Then again bei… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 11/12/22 08:32 AM
Finding validation in positive masculinity as a young transguyEh, I think you’re referring more specifically to terf feminism, but then again, that ideology has penetrated intersectional feminism too even if its more subtle. Body positivity often excludes fat men for example and regardless of your thoughts surrounding the body pos movement (i myself am pretty critical of it normally, but to my understanding it started out in good faith) its still something of s double standard. Masculinity is also heavily antagonized in some feminist spaces. Theres a view … | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 11/12/22 08:29 AM
Finding validation in positive masculinity as a young transguyThanks man, yeah its less of a case of trans people experiencing different levels of transphobia and more like just experiencing different kinds of it. Transwomen get the brunt of violent hate crimes obviously, but tbh people largely just dont really care about transmen in the discussion of trans people. Theres a huge debate about the “trans people in sports” thing and never once are trans men brought up, in large part because we aren’t seen as a threat to cis men since we’re normally at a perci… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 11/12/22 08:18 AM
transandrophobia, misandry against trans men, and finding joy in positive masculinity as a young trans boyThanks man. I’m surprised by the support this post has gotten actually. I’ve been extremely busy and havent had the time to check on it. But I think youre onto something there. Listen, I’m so for equal rights, obviously. And for women, cis or trans, talking about their experiences with shitty men. But I think there are some serious dangers with demonizing all expressions of masculinity and of manhood. You’ll see many feminists say “trans rights” and in the same breath claim healthy expressions o… | /r/EverydayMisandry | 21/11/22 07:50 AM
It’s time to talk about the social outcasting that is done to autistic boys.I understand this heavily, man. Im an autistic trans guy, so I can provide a unique perspective on this. I feel like in recent years, a lot of the autism positivity movement has mostly had white women advocates. Which is totally cool, I’m all for any autistic person of any demographic feeling more confident and secure in themselves and I’m happy that “female-presenting” autism is getting more rep since AFABS are typically either undiagnosed or only diagnosed later in life. I think it partly stem… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 01/11/22 09:26 AM
