Exactly. The point I was beating around is that processing of sensory input is learned.

I think defending your position requires a universal attractive form? But there's a fundamental bootstrapping problem. How can an organism encode attraction specifically enough that evolution can occur? You're requiring genetics to encode both your own form and the form of your mates. Genetic health requires a "sloppy" learned attraction. Have you considered blind people? Do they find the same people attractive that normal vision people do?

When you post on multiple sides of a drama vortex (i.e. commenting both here and on TRP and on TBP) the reddit software marks you as a troublemaker (i.e. the software predicts controversy to follow you) and starts heavily fuzzing your karma to mess with your motivation and the motivation of the drama surfers (somewhat funnily, it's actually an anti-spam feature and works best in the large main subs but causes collateral damage in small subs). Basically don't trust anything you see within +2/-2 i…

If you're interested, you should watch The Grugq's talk "OPSEC: Because Jail is for wuftpd". Reddit is not a safe platform for political activism. Particularly if neither party is going to protect you. Also... reminds me that I forgot about IRC. I think whinemoreplease referenced IRC conversations a few times and I'm pretty sure cis was on there. Not sure about Cad, though.

That only protects against SJWs/agitators/trolls who have the same public access to reddit as anyone else. It's completely irrelevant if you have access to server logs. You must have perfect OPSEC. FYI I looked into reddit's HTTP headers once and I saw it sending a list of accounts I've switched between in the same browser session. It only takes once to log that link on the backend. Hell, even using something as crude as snoopsnoo tells a lot (and that's just using the general public API). Imagi…

Conspiracy theory time. It's about The_Donald. I'm pretty sure they were active over there (along with CisWhiteMaelstrom et al, also gone). whinemoreplease and theultmatecad would often banter about Trump over here. The_Donald is currently undergoing an admin-backed purge of TRP (GLO has been demodded etc). GLO is troll enough that he thinks he's been playing safe. There are also links between The_Donald and r / european, which was quarantined yesterday. Beyond that... The_Donald obviously draws…

helping my wife with a hemorrhoid Look into getting a bidet attachment. Those things are amazing. We've had one for a few months now. Toilet paper use plummets (you just dab your hole dry after the rinse) so you don't have to rage about the price of the expensive soft stuff she likes. Lately I've discovered that if you get the stream just right you can also give yourself a mini enema cleanse as well. Best joke Christmas gift ever. I didn't consider actually installing until I saw some thread whe…

Nice post. It's brave to take the first plunge so I applaud you for that. Do you have any questions, or is this more of a testimonial? IMHO it could use some narrative and integration to understand how to generalize these teachings and fit them into the praxis. As written it comes across as somewhat bravado driven (presumably in anticipation of anti-marriage assaults we've seen in other threads thus far--so understandable). Not that there's anything inherently wrong with that, it just limits its…

She's seeing my boundaries, and just won't get it. Are you absolutely certain about that? I used to think that I was very explicit and it wasn't until I read WISNIFG that it became very clear to me that my communication style was actually too ambiguous and lacked focus. Women often operate on covert language so if you're not extremely explicit and clear with a history of being extremely explicit and clear, they can misread and think you're trying to say something else. Hell, they want to misread…

That's the difference between theory and implementation. Works of abstract theory stand on their own. It's the handling of unexpected and unanticipated details when translating theory to the real-world that makes the difference. The history of science proves this all the time. It's pretty much taken for granted that the best theoreticians make lousy experimentalists (and the reverse is true as well). Ivory tower theoreticians don't need flair. Do you think RPW flair should be abolished?

This is a great start! Are there any plans to add RPW style user flair? For example my RPW flair is "Late 30s, Married 12 years, Together 18, Male". It might be useful to include children. I think this is helpful for evaluating advice. I know priorities can be quite different particularly after kids and after many years. Often on MRP I see a lot of advice and think back to how that used to make sense before kids or in the first few years. Edit: removed link to r / RedPillWomen / wiki / flairs

You can't effectively work as a team if you're split on something absolutely fundamental. Views on marriage are pretty irrelevant in the operation of MRP aren't they? It's not fundamental at all to a community that is already married. It's just crying over spilled milk and isn't relevant to anything.

MRP is full of a lot of military men (and that mod is one). Marriage in the military is very structurally encouraged (both in terms of financial incentives, benefits and promotion). Married men are easier to motivate as soldiers and socially easier to control.

I can see how we've gone a little astray from the discussion with the sidetrack into the bible. IMHO the bible is no better than a Disney fairy tale in many parts--there are some good themes mixed with a lot of fantasy and motivated moralizing. The issue that brought us to this point was the necessity of defining "whatever is reasonable" in terms of meshing the husband's and wife's sexual agency. Reviewing: You interpret modern marriage as a purely sexual contract where the husband and wife are …

Ok, that doesn't surprise me and I remember passages to that effect are discussed in your book (possibly the same ones). Again I'm not well versed on scripture, maybe you know whether the bible similarly obligates the husband to perform sex "whenever the wife wants"? "whenever the husband wants" is fundamentally subjective, relativist and NOT objective, though. We would have to consider the authenticity of the hustband's external behavior (authenticity of this sort is not observable--for example…

Sex is part of the calculus for women as well. Did your wife marry you expecting financial advantages? Saving a Low Sex Marriage doesn't tell that story.

objectively reasonable Ok, one quick question before I go back to my pondering... what does objectively reasonable mean and who should be an authority for evaluating that? vs "subjectively reasonable" I suppose? Subjectively reasonable would seem to cover contextual / mutually negotiated. Objectively reasonable to me has an aspect of external quantifiablity and is not really open for negotiation. Is it based on comparison to societal expectations? If so, what are those? Surveys? FOMO? Is there s…

Right. Those are all religious sources or modern interpretations (similar to the original meaning vs living document constitutional debates). That first hit you quoted doesn't appear to me but it's very similar to the other religious discussion points I found (Google search ranks aren't necessarily translatable because Google customizes results based on your browsing history... and you read a lot more Dalrock-space than I do). I have tried to find legal support for your claim that "to have and to hold" means what you say and I've only found support for that interpretation in religious sermons as their interpretation of historical legal terminology. Please feel free to provide an authoritative reference.

The following may come across as hostile, but it is not intended that way. I tend to be very direct and focused on ideas and exposing inconsistencies which often comes off as aggressive. Be warned. But we're both academics and we're both fans of WISNIFG so I know we can handle this discussion maturely. I encourage you to take some time to clarify these questions as it will help move the discussion forward. With respect to "equal treatment" and fairness, one of the retorts you will often see on T…

I didn't know about UK's role in remaking India's caste system, that's interesting (if tangential). It's often mentioned that one of the best predictors of being a successful developing economy is history as UK colony (for a number of speculated reasons that fill bookshelves).

Maybe you missed the context of the question? If sexual slavery, where wives were compelled to submit sexually to beta husbands, had been explicit in the marriage contract (as described by /u/bluepillprofessor), why then are women today trying to remake and redefine marriage without the sexual slavery? Why isn't "marriage" repulsive to them the same way that "slavery" is repulsive?
/r/TheRedPill03/05/16 01:52 PM

If I can offer an "edgy" analogy... I just don't really see African Americans looking back fondly on their bondage and trying to remake it in a more "pleasant" form? WTF are women thinking?

This seems to raise the question of why on Earth women are so romantically and feverishly invested in preserving, modifying and defending this institution rather than just flat out abolishing it?

IANAL but isn't "to have and to hold" ancient legalese about estate planning? Essentially, she gets to use your property (to have) and then possess it after your death (to hold). Or something like that? http://thelawdictionary.org/to-have-and-to-hold/ Also, congrats on the flair!

TIL you must be married to own real estate, open retirement accounts, author advanced directives, hire attorneys, perform estate planning, equitably distribute shared assets when dissolving, etc. No wonder gay marriage was such a hot button issue.

I think it's ridiculous to assert that the marriage contract is the only thing that can keep couples together long term. I have an aunt and uncle who have been together for 43 years who reject marriage purely on the principle that they feel it's a vestigial remnant of patriarchy.
/r/RedPillWomen26/04/16 10:57 PM

Oh, right! I forgot about that. It has to feel stolen rather than offered. Those would be the guilty memories I have where I don't think the woman had a clue. I can imagine if you're really good at that... yikes.

So for example all of this talk about dressing to allow for accidental indecent exposure and ways to apply The Law of The Forbidden to worm your way into your target's mind so you can manipulate him. I find it very transparent. Men are aware of attraction. True story: When I was a TA, young women would often try this shit on me during office hours and small group and recitation. They'd come to office hours all dolled up to discuss their grades, get help on their homework, review for the test etc…

Wow, what's up with the hostility and defending Whisper from some non-existent attack you concocted in your own head? We both know why you put that book here and it has nothing to do with Whisper. I didn't just happen read the book you suggested because I'm close-minded... The Whisper relevance was just a ridiculous coincidence. :D

/r/RedPillWomen26/04/16 06:05 PM

Well, it's because Whisper's entire and advice is lifted straight out of there? Including the whole "men don't begin to love a women until after they've slept with her" thing? Probably why it resonates with you. I'll give you this: LaVey wrote it better. :)

So, I've read through most of that book now and... yeah, there's a lot of silly cringe and edgy stereotypes and I see how it aligns very well with Whisper's message (hell, I almost think he plagiarized it at this point). But don't you think intelligent men see through this superficial emotional labor crap pretty easily? It reads like the script to a cheap role play to me.

Is it just the "mundane" tactics that have stuck with you or the worldviews and rituals? Some of the rituals are quite interesting to me along the lines of having aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy. I know it's not really RPW relevant but now I'm sort of interested in finding the rituals intended for men to compare them with modern PUA exercises.

FYI, you forgot to mention Reddit Enhancement Suite for the friends hover shortcut in your screenshot so some people may get a little lost. But if you're in RES, tags kicks friends ass to the curb. And of course RES has watch lists and block lists and custom user sort weights... and... you get the picture. Reddit's friends feature is pretty stone age IMHO. The only value is if your mobile client happens to support it.

Happy or relieved? I felt relief after we lost our first even with all the remorse (and I felt guilty about it). I think that's natural--in some respects you get to relax back into known territory whereas particularly the first pregnancy is a whole lot of unknown and new responsibilities coming at you fast. Transitioning to fatherhood is a big change and it's not surprising that it carries huge doses of anxiety. Even when you're planning it. I don't think awareness of the relief is a vice. Exper…

Our first pregnancy ended in miscarriage. We both were messed up by the loss--and consequently during the following three pregnancies sex was too stressful for either of us and it didn't happen often. If OP's wife has a medical condition that makes natural pregnancy nearly impossible and miracle of miracles she happens to become pregnant naturally--it's completely understandable why she wouldn't want to "take risks" if you don't live with your head up your ass.
