Because generally jokes are made as actual commentary or criticism delivered with levity, or they are used to bring levity to a serious situation. If you tell jokes that disparage others at the wrong time, people might not be receptive because they think you're trying to make commentary about them or they think you are unserious in a situation or about a topic they think you should be serious about.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 03:56 AM

Tbh those jokes aren't funny because they were told 20 years ago. Old news. Good comedy comes from the unexpected. Joking about women being bad drivers doesn't have the shock value it used to, lol nor is it even true given that young men have the highest car insurance rates.

Yes because, get this, women can also have red flags.

Yeah if you started dating someone the week they got pregnant or had a one night stand, that would be reasonable cause to question if the child is yours. Many of these pregnancies occur well into a long term monogamous relationship.

Exactly. Feels good for 10 seconds and then it feels like nothing. I guess it's over stimulating.

The only problem is if she chooses someone without a big dick. Now there's a tiny elephant in the room that she settled on something she was vocal about.

Love is mutual giving, an earnest desire to make your partner happy, but your condition shows that is it still transactional. someone else willing to give. They have to be worthy of it and reciprical, which requires continual assessment of them. Love over time means you can deal with uneven give and take, but everyone has a limit to where it starts to eat away at the feeling of love.

Probably because people are getting married 10-15 years later than they used to. So as the older gen dies off, the rate has lost a 10 year spanning group to inflate it, and that's probably even more disproportionate since there are more boomers than gen-z and alpha, right?

Depends on your kid, but I'd say kids are a 'headache' up until they are old enough to be left alone in the house while you go to the store. Anything short of that, the need for 100% supervision is a 'headache' IMO.

Even though it's statistically few men, the consequences are dire if you let your guard down with the wrong stranger.

Forgiving someone multiple times for cheating is a sign of being a beta tbh. I understand why people do it, generally because they are not willing to deal with the loss and fallout, but the optics are still what they are.

Those women might also be assholes...
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 03:47 PM

The "just be yourself" mantra really just comes from sustainability. And it generally ties into your interests and how you express yourself. Faking too much of yourself could backfire and result in a lifestyle you don't enjoy with a partner you don't even like being around.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 03:45 PM

Which problem for women is the same as the 'male loneliness epidemic'? From what I am thinking of, women's rights, wage gap, etc, of course men had to fix it because they were the ones in positions of power legislatively.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/26 03:24 PM

Nah they aren't going to be alone, they just don't get as much, if any, casual sex. But maybe that's what you meant by screwed.

As long as their skin looks good and doesn't look leathery, yeah. I could be interested. It's highly contextual though and has to do with more than just appearance for whether I'd be attracted to an older man. In truth, they are almost always downgrades from their younger selves. It's an extreme outlier for young women to be interested in an older man who is also poor. There is always an undercurrent that dating someone older means you get access to more status, money, opportunity vs just dating…

Lmao that's gotta be environmental. I only dust like twice a year and I have not noticed any chronic cough or sneeze. Probably depends a lot on where you live and what dust producing materials are in your house.

God I hate when managers are like "Yeah you can be really good at your job, but what else can you do?" Maybe I don't have it in me to climb the corporate ladder because I feel no compulsion to go above and beyond. I just want to do good work and have a nice time.

I think you’re collapsing a lot of very different behaviors into one bucket and calling all of it abuse. Lying to test your partner or setting traps like “I shouldn’t have to tell you” is absolutely unhealthy. No disagreement there. But not wanting sex because you feel hurt or disconnected isn’t 'withholding affection.' It’s just having a boundary.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 08:29 PM
3

It’s not punishment. If your partner feels disappointed or upset, it’s possible they don’t feel connected, and to them, sex is the last thing they want when that connection is missing. And it's vicious cycle because sex the only thing the other partner wants to feel connected.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 07:17 PM
7

Get in a fight because you didn't bring your spouse the fast food they said they didn't want? Congratulations, you get a little punishment called denial of connection. Lol, I’ll bite. If your partner’s love language is gifts and you had a clear opportunity to connect with them by doing that, then a denial of connection already happened. It just wasn’t the kind you weight most heavily. Not every absence of sex after conflict is control. Sometimes two people who already feel disconnected and one i…

It is not antithetical to men feeling love and care for someone. I just don't believe they are expressing love through sex. The drive is much personal than interpersonal.

slut encouragement is more common than slut shaming. One could argue this is an attempt at mutually assured destruction. "If everyone is a slut, then no one is, and then maybe I'll feel safe and secure about my choices." And it's also very concerted efforts to change society faster than it changes organically, which is why there's people who engage in it but possibly feel listless after their choices.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 03:47 PM

Sex is a very emotional process to men, it does have to do with self worth, but it has little to do with the person they are having sex with. It's about hierarchy and feeling worthy in the world, not a connection to that person. That person is merely a vessel for a man to try to actualize and emotionally regulate.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 03:45 PM
6

A huge part of that is, despite some people's wishes for sex to be devalued in society and culture, there are still puritanical views on sex. Not everywhere all at once, but it persists. Even I feel them in my own sense of worth about sex. So external forces are a big part of the emotional feeling or regret or being used, but it could very well be cognitive dissonance that someone wants to be more... free-spirited, yet emotionally and physiologically deals has a negative reaction to the choice.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 03:35 PM

If sex were truly 'just carnal' or purely physical, it wouldn’t carry so much emotional weight. It would be something optional, enjoyable, but not something a person’s mood, self-worth, or emotional stability depends on.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 03:19 PM
46

It is interesting that some men maintain that sex is 'just pleasure' or 'just carnal' while also placing so much worth, emotional security, and sense of identity onto it. Sex is very emotional for men, but it's not actually about connecting with someone else.

To be magnetic, charismatic and attractive enough to earn a reputation for it? Pretty rare. You already need to be pretty attractive. Can't think of any fat, bald men that have that reputation. I only know tall fun-loving, low anxiety fit guys who have had such a reputation.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/26 05:00 PM

Those aren't friends, those are mutuals.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/26 08:44 PM

When I think about how many people I'd invite to a party... the list isn't that long. Anyone I wouldn't invite to spend time with in my home is not a friend.

The way my boss emphasizes how important my choice to refer her is... it makes me think that there will be some implicit blame. So I've been trying to avoid overselling her at all. I didn't want to sabotage her, but I did not want to make it seem like she's my own pet project to take on.

Lmao that gal that I referred to my team and asked for the same starting pay as me apparently asked 3 separate times how big the annual bonus is. The girl has money on the mind. This girl is getting a $25k salary increase and still doesn't seem satisfied lol. Guess I don't want that reflected on me if she is fairweather and leaves the team for more money.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/26 04:01 PM

That specific line is a meme.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/26 02:18 PM

To be frank, to care enough to post anything here means you give some kind of a fuck.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/26 02:16 PM

You could say something like "I'd like you to be you to be more than just a warm body." Maybe that's too earnest, but it's true and kind of meaningful. And if you think they need their ego stroked and not come across as dismissive you can add "I'm sure you're SUPER warm."
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/26 09:28 PM

Well uh... are you sexually interested in them in any way? Seems like quite the uphill battle if flirty banter already gives you the ick.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/26 09:16 PM

Tbh people still flirt and create sexual tension even if their goal is a serious relationship. Since committed relationships also involve sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/26 09:14 PM
2

Maybe, but those who do just treat you as an object often behave in ways that disrespectful, crosses boundaries, or is dehumanizing. You personally may have very few boundaries and wouldn't experience that friction.

Sometimes people want to be loved and appreciated in their entirety, and if you are consistently objectified, you may not experience people caring about anything else.

It's a feature, not a bug, because they are legitimately okay with non-conservatives being killed. No one buys this kind of rhetoic from the left since Charlie Kirk. Yes, eye for an eye. It's only fair. Except now it's secret police sanctioned by the administration doing the murders.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/26 05:50 AM

Women are attractive to me the way nature or architecture is attractive to me. I don't know if you can call that physical attraction. But in the same way I'd want to be in a beautiful space, I'd want to bask in beautiful people.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/26 04:28 AM

Nah. Their constituents vote them in because of this immigration policy. There’s no incentive for them to stop it. The conservative tradeoff has always been collective punishment. If harming 100 innocent people means 1 “bad” person gets caught, that’s considered acceptable to them. That's their entire MO of taking away social programs, deporting hard working immigrants. It's a feature, not a bug, because they are legitimately okay with non-conservatives being killed.

Women didn't intimidate to earn the right, they disrupted and argued. Men do value women, so when they are going on hunger strikes as a protest, it affects men.

BoogeyMAN See? Patriarchy in action.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/26 02:39 PM

Yup, my salary before compensation, because I referred her before the raises were announced. To add, I told her what what tools we use (which we used at the company she is currently at) and she is like "I don't want to make those. I just want to make powerpoints." And it's like I have to spoonfeed her, when she should be showing waaaay more eagerness to fulfill needs of this new role. So I think I'm comparing her to myself when I started. I was extremely grateful, and she's just jaded and alread…
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/26 09:38 PM

I just don't want to feel responsible for her or her work ethic. I gave the referral, but if she's a slacker, I don't want to feel like I have to manage her, despite being her equal in position... and salary. Somehow I was more amenable to 'managing' her if there was a clear difference between us.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/26 09:29 PM

Man I referred a former coworker to my team and she asked for the same salary I make.. as of the raise I just got. I'm surprised at how much that bugs me. And I'm like... she can do the job, sure, but she has not proven she is as good as I am. I guess it stings because that would have been great leverage for a bigger raise for me but they literally just announced compensation this week. So it'll be almost a year before that conversation happens again. So now I feel this urge to sort of distance …

I'm interested in interesting debate. I don't necessarily feel like I am defending my identity here, whereas I think people get triggered because that is the case for them. I also think people treat it as a team sport and that's how they derive satisfaction out of participating, which, fair enough. I think it's interesting to deconstruct and find parallels in the way the world operates, to think critically about why systems and biases exist, and to consider how that affects the world as a whole.…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/26 03:55 PM

If someone didn't ACTUALLY value those aesthetics in themselves and wanted to be loved with their average body, I do think they will resent the amount of work required for a Greek god body. They will also feel insecure and vain because if they ever slip and regress, they might get abandoned. I don't think most people can sustain that unless they want it for themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/26 02:16 PM

I don't think they are considering long term relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/26 02:07 PM

Being someone you are not will lead to an eventual identity crisis. And make you extra resentful because you are doing things for someone else instead of yourself. And at a certain point if you are fully LARPing as something you can't actually sustain, then at some point the mask is going to drop and the reveal is going to completely put off the person you were trying to attract. Like if you are a furry and it would completely sadden you to never be a furry again, then... don't hide it from peop…

There is a spectrum, including very low-risk boundary crossings that can be shut down with little more harm than annoyance or discomfort. My point is that persistent boundary crossing is structurally baked into the male sexual role. It is often evaluated as “worse” because it is more likely to involve engaging people who did not consent to that interaction, to varying degrees. By contrast, the female sexual role is far more likely to be expressed in contexts where consent already exists, which i…

My point is that taking risks that involve crossing boundaries is by definition non-consensual. The risk that comes from acting without knowing whether the other person wants it.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 10:52 PM

Yes, consent is not essential to the creation of life, as seen in the animal kingdom.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 10:10 PM

On an individual level, they are mutable. Huge variance is possible. But historically and at scale, men and women fall into different gendered expressions of risk taking, personality, socalization. It's probably still an endless nature vs nurture debate, but the end result still persists of genders falling in statistical categories.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 05:37 PM
2

I'm not framing all male sexual desire as rape. It's on a huge spectrum, and on a portion of the spectrum is taking risks and crossing boundaries because it can result in sex. And only because of that, is women's sexuality seen as comparatively 'good', because it has a much smaller expression of crossing boundaries. This is just statistical. And as they say, statistics mean nothing to the individual.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 05:33 PM

Actually, I've been seeing quite a bit of horseshoe ideology as feminism grabbles with transgenderism's reinforcement of gender roles. Definitely a lot of divides in feminism when it comes to intersectionality vs performative gender vs gender critical.

/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 05:04 PM

Well gender roles have existed for a long time, and definitely inform a lot of perceptions and societal morals. It's not absolute, but it has been the status quo.

Male desire is more often expressed through initiation, persistence, and escalation, even in the face of ambiguity or soft rejection. Female desire is more often expressed through selectivity and signaling IOIs. Because of that asymmetry, male desire is statistically more likely to be directed at someone who is not interested, while female desire is more likely to be directed at someone who already is, especially if you are in agreement that men have higher libidos in general. That difference sh…

No one said “man wants sex = rape.” That's just a strawman. The actual point is that male desire is more often socially rewarded for persistence, while female desire is more often shaped around filtering and safety. That difference affects how identical behaviors are interpreted. And yes, persistent male sexual desire is a spectrum that INCLUDES rape, but there's a lot of other morally 'gray' things prior to that, LMR, cat calling, not taking no for an answer, hoping to get a woman to relent. For sure, or the dad didn't really want to be a dad, and so they both resent each other, him for being trapped, and her for making a huge bodily sacrifice and being unsupported. Scenarios like that create /r/regretfulparents
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 04:45 PM

Pfft, bird erasure. Them birds gotta sing a beautiful serenade to attract females on top of having pretty feather.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 04:42 PM

Sucks for people who thought they were an investment lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 04:41 PM

This is taking some of the mental load. A lot of people get decision fatigue from the household and job decisions, so something taking authorship of a small but persistent task like dinner is a relief. Assuming your choice doesn't cause more problems than it solves, i.e. a mess she's gotta clean up, or food that is consistently unhealthy, making her fat lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 04:38 PM
4

Yes because male sexual desire is often forcing it, persistently, on an unwanted recipient. But given the disparity of desire, whenever women want sex, the odds are it's with a willing recipient. Does that make sense? There's a reason that there's a moral perception of male vs female desire. It's abundance and scarcity.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 04:34 PM

I guess as men became less masculine and less honorable, women had to pick up the traits to provide and protect themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 04:28 PM

Of course there is also the scenario where she just is not into you and you are a free meal. That possibility exists in literally every dating interaction and does not magically explain all delayed sex as low desire or deception. "Pretending to be something she isn't" is obtuse, because we act differently with different people in our lives. We act differently with our parents, our bosses, our friends, strangers, lovers. It's not manipulative, it's a form of code switching.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 04:23 PM

It's not that she finds them sexier, it's that she's actually less attached to the guy she sleeps with fast and cares less about his judgment of her. For men she is both sexually AND romantically interested in, she doesn't want to fuck it up by acting desperate or easy. I think in many ways restraining oneself from sex shows poise and is demure, thus a more feminine, attractive trait to men.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 04:03 PM

The way I see it, there's a limiting threshold to how much someone can value you for being their best sex ever. But there is no such limit on how much someone can love you for making them feel loved, seen, valued, respected, special etc. Being the best partner scratches an itch much higher on the hierarchy of needs. Both are fallible though, if someone takes you for granted or treats you as an object. Plus people don't know you are their best, only the best so far. So they can still think the gr…

I am quite sure men fall victim to the "grass is greener" and leave relationships. If anyone was unhappy in a relationship and truly believed there was a better option out there or right in front of them, they will be tempted to take it. It's just not usually that black and white and there are other inhibitors like sunk cost, fear of destitution, fear of loss and loneliness etc.

I prefer some build up. A single date isn't nearly enough anticipation. I want to be squirming over how much I want that person. That and, one date just feels like a convenience, a second date feels intentional. So uh... at least the second. Unless it was someone I knew for weeks or months prior to the first date, and I already was in deep limerence for them.

It's not a reward for men, women want to have sex with men they are attracted to. They just want security that the dude won't fuck off after they have sex, that they want the same things beyond sex, and they don't want him to turn out to be someone they regret having met at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/26 03:18 AM

It probably does if a guy is working full time with a demanding schedule and takes a more passive approach to dating at that point in his life. He might be too busy to be cold messaging on OLD all the time, doing first dates over and over, and thus doesn't mind the courting period for awhile because it gives that girlfriend-lite experience in between seeing each other.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/26 03:14 AM

It's catering to generations of patriarchal views on women and sex. Puritanical culture did not evaporate, and it ebbs and flows with each generation, but there is always a prevailing sentiment that a woman having sex quickly or frequently is a whore, slut, "not one you take home to mama." Some people ignore it, and ultimately it doesn't infringe on their lifestyle and majority of relationships, but they still experience the judgment.

Doesn't mean I'm not sexually attracted. It means that I see more cons than pros to having sex on the first date. And most of that is fear of regret, fear of optics and judgment, fear of being too easy and desperate. I'm sure the exception is if I had a first date with someone, but I had known them for months and months prior to that.

People don't change easily. This is what I said. There is a difference between expecting someone to transform their hobbies, personality or lifestyle vs honoring the most basic element of monogamy, which is not having sex with other people. Everything beyond that becomes a push and pull to reshape someone into a version of themselves they never claimed to be, even though you chose to date them based on who they already were. Boundaries are about the structure of the relationship. Trying to redes…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/25 05:50 PM

What relationship did you ask for and they agreed to? Monogamy? Are all promisciuous women also liars and cheaters? Or do they have a history of having sex without betraying long term partners?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/25 05:42 PM
1

Yes that's the one thing that defines monogamy. Exclusivity. Everyone has different degrees to which they expect exclusivity, the only one 'by default' is to not have romantic and sexual relationships with other people.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/25 05:40 PM
2

It's not about fairness. If you date someone because you want them to change, you're just taking a risk. People don't change easily. You date them for potential, then you could end up disappointed. You gotta be clear what you want from them, and it's up to them to rise to that or not.

You're talking about baseline attraction. But baseline attraction isn't lust. Lust for women is reactive to more than just whether a guy is their type. It's the flirting, confidence, scent, fitted clothes, competence, the way he carries himself, the way he touches her, the way he looks at her, the timing, the energy he brings into the room. It's not a binary for women. A lot of women have experienced a guy going from mildly interesting to intensely desirable because of how he interacts with them…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/25 05:29 PM
1

Everyone wants to feel special, no one wants to be judged. But everyone gets defensive when they are afraid of being abandoned. And men's lust can seem so indiscriminate that of course it doesn't make women feel special, and it makes women feel like they could be abandoned on account of the indiscriminate lust men have. I don't know if women's desire for love inspires the same kind of fear of abandonment that men's lust does for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/25 05:21 PM
2

I think you're imagining a woman 'begging' you to lust after her. Mobjack is talking about implicit behaviors and intentional efforts on your part to make yourself as appealing as possible. You're gonna lust after a woman who takes care of herself, dresses nice, isn't fat etc, isn't annoying or disgusting... That same woman, but with the veneer of homelessness and meth would probably not inspire lust.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/25 05:19 PM

It would be so baffling and incongruent with their character that I'd doubt everything I knew about them. We'd need some couples therapy or radical honesty to have any hope in saving the marriage. My gut reaction is that I'd want a hall pass to make it even, not out of revenge but for parity. But I'm sure that never helps. Now I'm really curious to read about stories on reddit where people tried that after their partner cheated.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/25 04:19 PM

You might think this, but from the woman's perspective, having NSA sex means she doesn't care what your opinion of her is. The courting process is her trying to be as appealing as possible (which for many men means... not acting loose.) The other element is that women also enjoy the anticipation, the sexual tension, the build up. So savoring each step is a more enjoyable experience vs just getting to PIV as soon as possible.

When it comes to cold approaching or sending IOIs, I'd say the majority of women are very risk averse. Think of all the things women do on tinder dates to make sure they are safe. Sharing locations, neutral meeting places.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/10/25 01:18 PM

It's a Schrodinger's cat situation. They could be, but being around another woman suggests they are not.

I don't think you'd care about her if she 'looked' 58 either.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/10/25 01:08 PM

You're perceived as safer to approach and less desperate if you're around women. You also can get incidentally acknowledged by people who were originally interacting with the women around you. Especially if those women are attractive, they could be the ones turning heads first.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/10/25 01:04 PM

I have no sympathy for him. Cheating is social suicide, and this reaction of people seeing malice in all your past actions is a consequence of that.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/25 10:26 PM

Ah if she wasn't there, then those girls were just doing it for their own validations, trying to prove they had the right intuition about him etc. Which I also find somewhat understandable. If someone gets exposed for doing selfish asshole betrayal shit, you start looking to see if there were patterns or motivations.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/25 10:09 PM

Imagine how much they talked behind his back and already looked down on him before he cheated in the first place. They probably didn't. You probably would have heard it. Right now they are venting and disparaging him to try to make it hurt less. Makes perfect sense. Not gonna feel as much loss if you convince yourself you were settling.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/25 10:00 PM

Cooperation is. We are incentivized to do so because we interact with each other over and over again.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/25 08:21 PM

If you're not confident in getting hookups, it's gonna be hard to cheat. Plus, if you're with a paranoid girl, she's gonna suspect you and be rifling through your shit and expose you before you ever get a change to secure a hook up. I just find the emotional turmoil and reputation risk too great to be a serial cheater. And of course, things don't go as you plan, so there could be a number of financial and social entanglements that make all of this much messier.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/25 07:35 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/25 07:30 PM

It's just not long term thinking. So what even is the end goal here? Date women for a month or two, cheat on her, ad nauseum? Until you feel satisfied and find a woman that you... will marry and not cheat on? Hoping no one in your life found out about your behavior and could compromise this desired relationship? Just seems like bad OPSEC. You don't even know what 'experience' you are getting. Sounds very abstract and goalless. More over, it sounds like by doing this you are actually getting an a…

When it of course comes out that he's a conservative, it won't give pause because the right can point to the left's reaction to his death and say "Look how many leftists reveled in his death or reveled in their own apathy." That was a massive L that millions and millions of people needed to project their glee or disdain for empathy for the situation and lash out instead of STFU for a few days until the shooter was caught.

It's weird to me that Trump's announcement of his death emphasizes that Kirk has a BEAUTIFUL wife. Like there's a tone deafness to being like, "The man is dead, but hoo boy what a nice piece of ass."
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/25 09:49 PM

It's crazy that Minnesota politicians were assassinated earlier this year, yet no doubt this will have WAY more impact because it was done in the light of day, in a crowd, with multiple video angles. I am usually not very dramatic about the state of the country, but this shooting is going to cause more violence. We are already in a fucked up state with the national guard being deployed to our own cities, people being kidnapped in unmarked vans and shipped out of the country... The president is i…

That would result in more children then they can realistically care for. So biologically it makes sense for women to have limits.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/25 08:54 PM

Because if they cheat they feel like they can explore and scratch that itch without destabilizing their entire life to do it. Having their cake and eating it too. And leaving your wife or husband of 18 years to try out some strange doesn't often leave the door open for reconciliation. There's a lot of resentment to being abandoned.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/25 08:50 PM

Other men do manage to form and sustain deep friendships, both with other men and sometimes women, and even if they lack the depth of some female-female relationships, the breadth and larger network of male-male relationships compensates. That shows it’s possible within the same societal conditions. I think there is a deficiency there, because there's a level of showing up and being attentive as a friend that allows many men to have flourishing friendships.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/25 08:46 PM
2

Eh fair enough. It's never that clean of a break though. People feel compelled to stay longer because they don't like the optics of ending a long relationship just because they want to try something new. So people cheat. But they also do that well before the kids move out.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/25 08:39 PM

Some women want kids and a nuclear family. The women who enjoy their lives without a man either already have kids, and got divorced, or don't want kids. Financially it is easier to live with someone. As far as why you'd choose living with a partner instead of just roommates, It's convenient to live with someone you love, and are attracted to, and get your emotional needs fulfilled by. It sounds reductive, but I'm trying to break it down so that it makes more sense to someone who doesn't already …

Because in your scenario there is no more status to get from a man. You purported that the woman is a supreme empress. In reality, a lot of women have a lot of security to gain by choosing a man with status, influence or wealth. And even though that is the case for many women, not all women have a prime operative of finding a man with status. Some women are self sufficient and don't need the extra security.

If I'm a supreme empress, I don't need to marry or date someone for more power. So I'd just be choosing someone I enjoy the company of. Probably someone who is exceptionally charismatic. I'm sure if you are a supreme anything you start to think everyone is beneath you... Kind of in the name. And people tend to reinforce the dynamic because they will twist themselves into whatever you want because they want to benefit from your power and influence. So the goal would be to find a partner who is no…

I have no idea what kind of man that would result in. Maybe I'd pay for a therapist to vet men. They have to go through like a dozen sessions with a therapist so then I know exactly what their deep seated flaws are that usually come out a year or two into a relationship. I don't expect perfection, but I would filter to find men whose flaws don't deeply conflict with my own.

I already explained a downside. Encouraging women into the workforce without rebalancing domestic expectations created the double burden of paid and unpaid labor. That's capitalism, consumerism, feminism, recessions, wage stagnation, inflation, all bundled up.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/25 01:23 AM
8

Industrialization, automation, urbanization, capitalism, economies of scale, consumerism, wage stagnation, inflation, wars, globalization, individualism, medical advancement, recessions, depressions, the internet, social media, cell phones... All this contributes to the negative outcomes you are trying to identify.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/25 10:14 PM
10

It's a wary choice. I don't think stay-at-home moms plan for their husband to divorce them in the future thus requiring them to work to support themselves. Yet divorce happens. The feminist agenda is saying that it is a huge risk to depend on someone financially and forsake your own ability to support yourself. People will gamble, but it should be done with eyes wide open.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/25 10:07 PM
3

Women being empowered to enter the workforce didn't come with restructuring household expectations. Women still do more housework. Not sure if that's because of feminism empowering women to do it all or because of sexist thinking that it's women's work. Any other 'negative' outcomes can't be reduced to feminism alone as the cause. Too many things have changed in the last 100 years.

/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/25 04:05 PM

I definitely lean more sex negative. It's both the physical disgust of higher STD risks and just the sheer volume of flesh being exchanged as well as the objectification and desperation that goes along with needing to pay for sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/25 12:39 PM
3

No, not equally, because civilian women haven't rubbed genitals with as many people at the prostitutes Johns visit. But I certainly still think a fuckboy is gross in his own right, but not to the same degree as a John.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/25 04:12 AM
1

People aren’t pulling this reaction out of thin air. It comes from seeing how often age gaps are tied to exploitation, unhealthy obsession, and a loss of innocence. It comes from their own experiences with all of it. When people then appeal to biology or fertility, it just reinforces the idea that women are being reduced to vessels. It makes sense that this sparks a deep, subconscious disgust.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/25 08:45 PM
2

Sounds like gen Z too
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/25 03:41 PM

No the prostitution and Johns is just another visceral disgust thing. Dipping your wick in that well is just gross. And men should understand this well because they too have a visceral reaction to the town bike.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/25 03:37 PM
3

Nah it could just be the case that they go after mid but young women who see it as an opportunity to skip ahead in life by having a wealthier partner. Very little to do with looks. I mean look at all the bald fat 40 year olds who still pull younger women. It's money.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/25 03:34 PM
1

I'm realizing the visceral disgust women feel at age gaps is probably similar to the visceral disgust men feel at women's high body count. The rest is just spinning the hamster wheel to see if logic can justify the feeling you already had. And then there's probably people who are disgusted by both. Puritans unite.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/25 02:25 AM
7

Yeah you're absolutely correct, and that does kind of prove my point... because the biology argument goes a lot younger than 29...
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/25 02:19 AM

Ugh and the other thing is skin. Older men get wrinkly chest skin from not using sunscreen, and it reminds me of my dad and gives me crazy ick. the girl is mid and can’t compete with the more attractive girls her own age, This is an interesting thought as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/25 02:16 AM
11

Visceral disgust isn’t the exact same as logical reasoning. It’s a reflex, not an argument. What’s really being reacted to isn’t the person’s actual age, it’s the idea of youth itself being sought out. So you're trying to logic your way into people's approval when generally the only 'logic' being applied is that if someone likes them young... they'll like them even younger... and so forth.

I'm wondering what you find in women that is enjoyable to be around. Are you clinging to traditional gender roles?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/25 07:22 PM

You want someone to enjoy your company. That's the whole point of romantic relationships. So... be enjoyable. That's it. I don't know what you feel compelled to mask, but if you aren't fun to be around... that's really all there is to it.

I don't think it's misanthropy. I think society has shifted towards individualism and agency of expression in a culture that no longer demands constant propriety and politeness. People aren’t sent to finishing school to learn how to entertain and appease anymore. There's less pressure to keep up appearances for the sake of fitting into rigid social roles. That doesn’t mean people hate each other more, it means they’re prioritizing authenticity and boundaries over forced pleasantries. In fact, I'…

how women wish men understood the "you can't win" feeling coming from that. It's really just this. In recent history, men felt much more entitled to a woman's attention and politeness, and society reinforced that. become the dominant sex. Do all animals have a dominance hierarchy? Why do we assume if strength is equal that women will then dominate men? Because of thirst? lol

they'd admit that the ready-for-commitment guys aren't as attractive as the noncommittal guys I don't think anyone, man or woman, wants to hear their partner tell them how much more attractive their previous partners were.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 11:59 PM

Ok, so what if they were chasing regular ass attractive dudes with jobs and no personality disorders who simply were non-committal, and then when those relationships don't work out the 'settle' for the nice stable ready-for-commitment provider male?

Why are bad boys bad? Who is casting that judgment?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 11:40 PM

Problem is conservatives believe they are all temporarily embarrassed billionaires, so they continue to fight for the interests of the elite because they think that's their future. How do you break that illusion? The American Dream was a powerful motivator.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 03:26 PM

Anti-Intellectualism You could argue the same for wokeism though. Suppression of debate, ideological purity testing to enforce conformity, appealing to lived experience over evidence, cancel culture, language policing, tone policing.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 03:20 PM

Lol I think it's an emotional buzzword, because promiscuity elicits an emotional response. Disgust is an emotion. Would you prefer to date a woman with N=1, but her partner was a 10/10 attractive man, or would you prefer do date a woman who has N=50, but the men were between 3/10 and 6/10 in looks? Is it the N count that persuades you, or the SMV of her sex partners?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/25 08:45 PM

It's interesting to see men dismiss a 19 year old woman talking about sex in the same way that women dismiss an incel posting about relationship dynamics.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/25 08:38 PM

Bruh most women won't even meet 10/10 men. Even with the power of social media and dating apps, the men they have logistical access to are still probably max 7/10 men. The Chad narrative is just the amorphous, intangible goal post that keeps moving around.

Already got it then. 8 years.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/25 03:32 AM

That's crazy to me too. Pans are huge, it's a waste of space to put them in the dishwasher. Blew my mind people ALSO put the pans directly in the fridge.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/25 10:49 PM

I'm learning that the majority of people ruin their non-stick pans in 1-2 years. I have had mine for 8 years now, tf is everybody doing? Do none of them know you don't use metal utensils on it?

/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/25 02:32 PM

When men say sex is a need, it's a way to justify the desperate behaviors to get it.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/25 02:29 PM

Nothing is guaranteed. But the continuance of the relationship is contingent of fidelity, just as the continuance of a relationship can be contingent on sex. Lots of people in /r/DeadBedrooms eventually divorce. It's just not as instantaneous of a catalyst as cheating.

I was arguing with a guy who think you should bring your own water to a first date... because there should be no expectation of going somewhere to hydrate or do anything. Yeah, I consider that to be 'unfun'. The bar is on the floor for what 'fun' is being had. You do not have to be performative to show that you are a fun-lover.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/25 02:17 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/25 12:41 AM

That's not something you tell your partner. I don't care if it's true, but I don't want to feel like my partner is pining for other people and other lives with other people he could have led. If I get to the point to even ask if I am a first choice, I must feel quite neglected and unappreciated. So yes, if at that point my partner affirms that there are other people he wishes he was with, I am gonna be upset. If the relationship is good, that's one of those questions you shouldn't ask.

No one said men never experience unprovoked violence. When women fear men, it's often rooted in the threat of being preyed on, stalked, assaulted, controlled, or raped. It’s personal, targeted, and hard to predict or avoid. That hits differently than random street violence or getting jumped in a fight. And yeah, let’s not ignore how men are raised. You're not exactly rewarded for saying “I’m scared of other men.” It's seen as weak, so most stay quiet. This isn’t about saying male victims 'deserv…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/25 06:36 PM

Your question was why don't men share this fear of men. And now you are leaning in on men being victims? What point are you trying to make?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/25 06:28 PM
28

When men are violent toward other men, it’s the context of bar fights, disputes, gang violence, etc. And not usually tied to the same underlying fear women have of being preyed upon or dominated. The other component could be a inflated machismo sense of self. More men feel like they could defend themselves than women do.

Calling something "selfish" doesn’t automatically make it bad. The word loses its sting when you realize it just means “motivated by something internal,” which applies to literally everyone, including people who die for what they believe in.

Those motivations are emotionally driven. Again, motivated by how your values of love and duty make you feel.

Turkey has all them street cats that people care for.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/25 05:47 PM

Yes, to the point where it's a complete nothing burger because everything is selfish. If literally all human action stems from self-interest, then calling something "selfish" loses all meaning as a critique. It’s just stating the obvious. Wanting to have a kid because it brings you joy or fulfillment isn’t some moral failure. It’s the same root drive behind any decision people make, from volunteering to eating breakfast.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/25 05:46 PM

Everything you do in this life is selfish. Because even 'selfless' acts are motivated by how it will make you feel to be selfless. Altruism does not exist.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/25 05:42 PM

Nah. Might be an unpopular opinion, but I think men with vehicle enthusiast hobbies are probably neglectful parents and partners. That's an expensive, time consuming, and kid-unfriendly hobby to get into.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/25 05:33 PM

Lmao I'm reading this 'Why do people have kids?' post and it is wild how much people are lambasting the responses. "Oh you want to have a kid because it feels good to love someone and watch them grow? SELFISH!"

/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/25 04:48 PM

I agree, but men have always devalued it. From women, it's new.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/25 09:17 PM

A lot of women’s complaints in dating aren’t about genetics. They're about emotional maturity, competency, communication, ambition... things men can work on.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/25 09:15 PM

Idk, it's kind of the norm to look people up before you meet them in this age of information. Just think of that person as more... neurotic and data driven than average. If that's a problem, so be it, but some people just like information.

/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/25 07:04 PM

People don't give two shits. Women don't understand that, they care too much about what others think so they need something to save face Yeah this willingness to burn bridges and tank your reputation amongst peers is probably why men have worse support systems than women.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/25 06:58 PM

Among women under 35 today, 30% already have children, 41% say they want to have children, 15% are not sure, and only 14% say they don’t wish to have children, according to a new Institute for Family Studies/YouGov survey of 2,000 young adults conducted in May to June of 2024. It's still certainly the majority.

/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/25 06:43 PM

The nuclear family is the thing women still 'need' men for. If a woman wants a family, she likely envisions a partner. Yet as we get further and further away from traditional values, women devalue motherhood. The strong pendulum swing away from having kids is an entire discussion in itself. I'm not moralizing any of that, but if a woman values motherhood, she may compromise a lot on her partner in order to make that happen because of her own fertility.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/25 06:39 PM

What are you entitled to? lmao Are you entitled to a job just because you applied?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/25 06:33 PM

Both things can be true. But if you let a negative feedback loop degrade your social skills, that's all strangers and acquaintances see.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/25 06:28 PM

Exactly dating is supposed to be exciting and fun. The anticipation of your own will they/won't they. Women love anticipation like catnip.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/25 05:45 PM

Would you say women are happy with current dating market? I think men and women are complaining about the same issue. Women are complaining that men don't meet their standards, and men are complaining that women have standards lmao. So either men need to strive to meet those standards, or women have to lower their standards. And then it's a battle of attrition. Whose life is more disturbed by this mismatch? Who can endure longer?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/25 05:18 PM

Well the pandemic was 5 years ago, so I imagine that changed the level of socialization of those younger generations. I think people surprised themselves with how content they were in solitude. but today men will get in trouble at work for simply asking a girl for her phone number. This is a failing of the man because god damn no one can engage in flirting and clock indications of interest. Everyone goes autistically hard on the cold approach, extremely hard sell, zero banter. Like men are being…

I think feminists take issue with anything representing a woman being treated as an object. The concern is that having a literal object in the shape of a woman can embolden and further regress men to treat actual women as objects. But I think that's just waxing philosophy, I don't think anyone actually cares enough.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/25 08:59 PM

Women are visual, it's just insufficient. They require more of something else. The content they consume isn't necessarily pure or noble but the premise is that the porn they consume does not affect their perceptions of sex the way it affects men.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/25 05:54 PM

They can, but do they want to?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/25 05:29 PM

What percentage of women have these fetishes? What does reading a romantic fantasy book about sexy shape shifting fairies have to do with women's perception of sex?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/25 05:24 PM
20

Yup the disparity in consumption is likely a factor in how influential it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/25 05:11 PM
26

Women know what bad sex feels like. They learn early that porn isn't real because their bodies tell them that. I think women see porn and erotica as a fantasy, not a blueprint. They aren't as visual of creatures as men, so they are not as keen on recreating exactly what they see.

Boss babe was an over-posturing pendulum swing to appear more independent but people are likely getting burnt out. It also could just be an age thing. I assume millennials were the ones pushing the boss babe mantra and now a decade later they are settled down with kids, likely sacrificing career progress and relying just as much on their husband's salary. Or just just minding their own business and not contributing to those spaces anymore.

I'd guess the majority of women can physically handle and might prefer slightly above average penis size. And I'll hazard a guess that 4'' is the line where it's too small. But once you're at 10'' or higher then it's an issue of discomfort.

Women have more options, it is known. This means they can afford to be more selective. In Buss’s “The Evolution of Desire,” women reported to perceive effort and persistence as signs of genuine interest and long-term potential. I'm surprised you needed proof for this...

Ooh a religious fundie on a video just made a good point, I don't agree with it but I have no idea how to refute it: If we permit homosexuality because it is happening between consenting adults, then we should be allowing incest between consenting adults. And if your argument is that it's bad because of the genetic issues from procreating... well... we don't stop any other couple with near guaranteed genetically transmitted diseases from procreating.

Personality changes perception. Women's arousal is way more about the scenario than the aesthetics. A guy could be meh 5/10 to a girl, but if talking to him makes her feel good, she's gonna feel physical attraction now too. And suddenly he's more like a 7/10 to her. But as people say, if your looks are distractingly unattractive, you're not gonna get your foot in the door.

Started with a meet-cute at the gas station because he can buy her beer. From a 18 year old's perspective, an older man has access to more 'mature' things. He's got more money than the 18 year old men, likely has his own place, women might think since men take longer to be ready for marriage and children, then obviously the older one is the correct choice because she can be married and have kids before she's 25. But it turns out many men who seek younger women don't want equal partnership. They …

The concern comes in when “better partner” = “easier to manage” or “less likely to question me.” Seeking out younger women because they expect them to have fewer boundaries or less life experience suggests a desire for control, not connection. If the appeal of dating someone younger is about shared values, energy, or outlook on life, cool. But as I've pointed out, the reality plays out that the appeal hinged on having fewer expectations placed on the older man. And it takes like a decade for the…

No. Men being 10+ years older is 7.6% of relationships, where women being 10+ years older is 1.3% of relationships. Frankly, when women date younger men they don't make a peep. They spend no time trying to justify it to the masses, so I don't have a profile on their experience.

No one’s denying that most men find women in their late teens to mid-20s physically attractive. That’s not controversial. Some men might say they would never date a teen, but if they did not know the teen's age they would still think she's attractive. Some older men pursue significantly younger women not just because they’re attractive, but because they’re hoping for a dynamic where expectations are different, less pushback, less emotional maturity, or more admiration.

Pretty common pattern in /r/AITA posts or /r/BestofRedditorUpdates that the husband is doing the most controlling or immature shit and there's a 10+ age gap. Seems like men in their late 20s or 30s that pursue a woman 10 years younger than him are hoping she doesn't expect equal partnership.

I think frankly some people lack the abundance of options and patience and time to quit on some relationships. Fear of the unknown keeps them in place, and a 'bird in the hand is worth two in the bush' mentality. Why would they leave the stable relationship to get married? If it was simply about whoever was available, the logical choice is to just marry the one you are with. The starter gf means she was never good enough for marriage in his eyes. She just made his life easier. And it’s not wrong for a male to be sexual It is wrong when he's trying to sexually engage with people non-consensually. Men get villainized because some men do not respect consent.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/25 12:49 AM

Intention vs impact. I'm sure most men do not intend to offend, cause harm, or make women uncomfortable. But that is the impact.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/25 12:39 AM

Even if they understood it, it wouldn't change your situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/25 12:37 AM

Should I go to court and try to fight a speeding ticket? Or should I just pay it so I don't have to pay for parking/pay for their $25 traffic school course and then come back to court a second time? I guess idk how expensive your insurance gets if you have points. That's kind of the deciding factor.

Women's looks are the primary RMV and SMV, whereas men are judged on a more balanced mixture of looks, status, money, and other personality traits. So it's ultimately not to the same degree. Meanwhile, when women express their own standards like wanting financial stability or ambition, they also receive backlash, and get labeled "gold diggers" or "entitled." Social repercussions exist on both sides, but the weight and function of beauty standards are not equal between men and women.

Men may get chastised for being tactless and blunt with stating their preferences, but women still are affected by the reality where they are being constantly scrutinized and judged about their looks.

If there was data on the most unsolicited pictures of all time, it would probably be dick pics. I think the nature in which most dick pics are presented to women influences their disgust.

One thing that is silly to me is cosmetic brands tout themselves as being cruelty free and not tested on animals. But the thing is, all the ingredients they use WERE tested on animals, they just don't have to do the dirty work because they aren't out there inventing new chemicals, they are just reinventing the wheel over and over.

I was going 32 mph in a school zone which is 20 mph. They used the ole laser so it's not like I can argue my speed. No, because our first date was in a group to watch a movie in the theater, and my teenage social anxiety freaked tf out and I was convinced I was not attracted to him. A few months later he tried to set me up with his friend, so the three of us went to a high school football game, and getting a good look at him in that scenario I was attracted to him. I can still remember that first time I really stared him down under those stadium lights.

It depends who makes more money. When my partner made almost double what I did, he picked up 80% of the bills. Now that I make more money it has inverted. But that's still 10+ years of him paying more. Ultimately, we are married now, both of our money goes towards things that benefit both of us. If we have kids, and I keep my high paying job, it might reach more 50/50 parity. But if I have to quit, it'll go back to him paying most, if not all if I lack an income.

I can tell when amused mastery and negging is being used. But I'm also honest enough to admit that it has some level of success. Challenging or goading a woman into proving herself reframes interactions to be more about her ego than whether she even likes you. And even me, I have to take a step back and realize I'm being goaded. So that's definitely good to keep the conversation going at least.

90% of the men complaining about being unsuccessful are complaining anonymously on the internet, the volume of incels is too high to attribute it squarely and solely on looks. I feel like dating apps should introduce more randomness and anonymity to get more unique interactions. There should be opportunities to connect with people in ways that don't involve swiping first and foremost on their picture. Like every dating app should have basically a Whisper mode or a ChatRoulette, where you can chat anonymously, either publicly on boards or in DMs, video based or text based. /r/PurplePillDebate23/02/25 02:52 AM

This argument falls apart under scrutiny. If women were truly 'loved for who they are,' there wouldn’t be complaints about men who don’t find them attractive. The reality is that men, like women, have preferences, and attraction isn’t unconditional. The moralizing comes in because the implicit thing being said here is 'being loved for who you are is good, being loved conditionally is bad."

/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/25 08:30 PM

That's probably because gender critical would likely title their posts to with reeally strong divisive opinions that reached the front page. Something here nestled away in a daily thread ain't gonna reach the front page.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/25 08:30 PM

Yeah I see that point too, that some conservatives just lose their god damn mind and really are just looking for a group to subjugate and other. And classes of people are protected against hate speech, it's really a question then if something like misgendering is considered hate speech.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/25 08:28 PM

Yeah it's weird we as a society want to subscribe to ideology that just makes us look and sound dumber. It makes sense that if you like someone and respect them or if you just want to be polite in general, of course you're gonna call them by their preferred pronouns and new name. But on a societal level, it's strange to expect everyone to pretend all the time and ignore the reality.

For me it's the RNG aspect. Letting some amount of randomness decide what path Sims are going to take and then making it become a reality. It's just a virtual dollhouse with extreme creative freedom and life simulation control. For some, it's just a dress up game and a interior design and architecture simulator. It's creating drama without consequences. And for many, it's a game they played as a child that still holds up and is nostalgic.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/25 05:02 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/25 10:17 PM

Because of the ways black pill and red pill are the same. Some red pill consumers go beyond self-improvement and into blaming or resenting women. A lot of the generalizations of women are so reductive and negative that it sparks outrage. Red Pill is chalk full of grifters who profit out of demonizing women to make men feel better, and demonizing women to generate outrage for views. And of course, Red Pill existed before Black Pill. Basically anyone who considers themselves black pill now, was wa…

he might not be able to navigate a relationship or how to act in one . If he can't figure out how to act in a relationship, yes that is a turn off. I'm suss of anyone who can't. If you like someone, love someone, then your goal should be to make them happy, because you like being with them. If you struggle with that in concept, then you are prioritizing something else more.

The one that always resonates with me is when a husband can't find ketchup in the fridge, insists that it's not there. The wife walks up to the fridge and points right to it. Why is that so pervasive?

No incompetence at it's face is not malicious. But refusing to learn after multiple attempt is willfully incompetent. And whether or not that will negatively affect the relationship depends on the dynamics and expectations of shared responsibility.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/25 07:14 PM
1

It is incompetent up until the point where you learn the knowledge.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/25 07:05 PM
1

Nobody just manifests competence without any input so by your definition everyone is incompetent. 100%. Everyone starts out that way, they learn.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/25 07:02 PM
1

Yeah I think there is a lot of bitterness stemming from women having a zero tolerance for their partner learning how to do a task properly after failing or making mistakes.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/25 07:01 PM
2

The reason it takes longer for you to do it is because you are lacking competency. Imagine if you never learned how to read what time it is because your mom was always better and faster. Now every time you need to know what time it is, you have to call your mom because of course it's faster than figuring out how to read a clock.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/25 07:00 PM
2

That's a competency in delegating the tasks to someone else. Competency for the task at hand would be the ability to do it successfully or efficiently yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/25 06:47 PM
1

It is by definition. The goal of asking for help is that you learn, and therefore become competent at the task yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/25 06:39 PM
1

It's not always malicious, but if it's a pattern of behavior with an unwillingness to improve yourself, now it's just willfully incompetent. And that depends entirely on the relationship dynamic if that's permissible. But if things are meant to be a shared chore, and you consistently fail to complete the task on your own, it's likely an issue that needs addressed.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/25 06:36 PM
2

It's incompetent for you to not be able to figure it out without help from someone else. Not all incompetence is nefarious, you just asked how they were different, and they aren't, it just has a different effect because as you said, it's the clerk's job to help you in the store, but not your partner's.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/25 06:18 PM
2

Both are incompetent. But with weaponized incompetence, you are trying to direct the incompetence towards your own partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/25 06:08 PM
4

It's an incomplete task. You are saying because it's a 'favor' you will not complete the steps necessary to complete the task as you would for yourself. That's willful incompetence.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/25 06:06 PM

It's simply incompetent, which is the root of this entire subject.

I think for private companies, censorship is their tool to cultivate the experience that will garner the most users. If the overwhelming majority of users are put off by certain things, it will be censored. For death threats, permitted them across the board definitely risks inciting actual violence. Mob mentality can grow, and people egg on the right person to carry out the violence, whereas if it was censored no one would have been emboldened to engage in real violence due to the internet's rea…

I never realized how little down payment you actually need to buy a house. You can get a mortgage with as little as 3% down! I wonder if that's essentially a loan shark dynamic. I know that it requires mortgage insurance until you reach 20% equity, so obviously the lower the down payment, the more you ultimately pay to insurance. Maybe since it's such a seller's market, mortgage loaners refuse to do less than 20%.

Well said. There is wisdom to be gained from the manner in which you approached, the words that were said, and the place and person that you approached. But it is also the nature of escalating a situation to a implicitly sexual one, that people can just have an adverse reaction. What was once a neutral moment is now met with the pretense of pressure and sexual assessment, and that is bound to cause friction sometimes.

And so they don't get a win from it, and now neither does the platonic angle because the fervent shipping just reinforces societal expectations of male intimacy as being gay.

It certainly isn't always fair. But people have a right to define their boundaries. Social interaction isn’t just about intent, it’s also about impact. Maybe women's boundaries have changed. Maybe women have always thought men were creepy but would fawn instead of fight. It just comes with the territory of basically interjecting yourself into someone else's life. You could come across as too aggressive, persistent, invasive, or entitled.

Oh what's up lil homie? I have you tagged as someone who agrees that Jayce and Viktor from Arcane are not gay lovers lmfao. Had to separate the wheat from the chaff on that subreddit.

Ugh why don't more smart watches make tiny watch faces like the Fitbit Luxe? I don't need to do much on that screen, just view some vitals. It just seems like Google is going to let Fitbit die slowly, and I fear there will be no skinny dainty fitness watch to take its place.

My sister in law does this thing where she says disturbing shit with a sing-song voice and laughs, and I genuinely cannot tell when it's a cry for help because she does this all the time. There were 14 year old parents in my middle school, doesn't mean it was seen as normal. Kids having sex in middle school was still considered to be precocious and promisciuous. Like if you have an n=1 in middle school people think of you as a slut. But once you are in high school it's all normalized.

Everyone already covered the extreme end of this of parents mistreating their children in favor of their romantic life. But I suppose the actual moderate take is that some people sabotage their relationships with their romantic partners because they have not established boundaries with their kids.

Be attractive, maintain your looks, be social, be independent, establish and maintain boundaries. Passive dread is really just about being reminded that your partner is desirable and CHOOSES to be with you, and can leave at any time. It's not a societal injustice, but a pattern of male loneliness does have societal impacts. Like with the election. I know incels like to throw it around as a bargaining chip, that if they can't get sex/intimacy/family, then men will check out of society or do things to spite it. But if it becomes a trend, it becomes a trend. And now it's a societal issue.

What a priviledged thing to say, as your emotional needs are met and you know what it is like to feel mutual desire. It would negatively effect your well being if every man you wanted to be with rejected you.

I've said it's similar to saying a mother's love is a 'need'. You won't die without it, but neglect will create psychological disfunction. The same can be said with persistent rejection of intimacy and sex.

I'm thinking they just have some AI scrubbing our accounts to gather data and it made an oopsie.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 02:30 PM

Probably relates to the origins of this subreddit to begin with. /r/TheRedPill basically banned and removed any women contributing in earnest or defending their beliefs. /r/TheBluePill was a satirical circlejerk with no earnest engagement. So this place came to exist as a way to merge the two. But for any one person who wants to debate in earnest, there is another who just wants to circlejerk the way TBP did.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 02:26 PM

In what world would they think using that is a good idea instead of my real name, which they already have?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 02:22 PM

I didn't actively seek it out, it was something I stumbled upon because I had older siblings and my dad had the black cable box for pay-per-view. Even still, it had a pretty net neutral effect on me. Took a lot of the shock and awe away from sex, and took a lot of the confusion away from all the implications of sex in all forms of media.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 02:20 PM

Yeah I think it had worse effects on my older brothers though. It didn't make me precocious, but it did for them.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 02:14 PM

Amazon is calling me by my username. This is the only account I own with this name. WHY
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 02:12 PM

Hah, I watched porn when I was 4 years old, and I understood that sex is how you get pregnant, and I was super bummed because I thought I'd never get to try it because I didn't know there was a way to NOT get pregnant. Makes me wonder if sex education at a young age would be comprehensible to most kids, and if it would have a better turn out for safe sex vs waiting until they are going through puberty.

Depends on your socio economic status. If you go to country clubs and own multiple properties, the relative 'societal' expectation of the engagement ring price will be much much higher, easily in 5 figures. I think it should definitely be one of the most expensive pieces of jewelry you give to your partner. It's meant to last a lifetime. So I'm thinking a quality ring has to be at least $300 or more. Everything after that is just about aesthetics and customization, and whether you want the value…

Porn existed well before feminism was pro-sex worker. Many men consume porn without becoming incels. Incels always existed, or at least the same conditions that would make someone an incel today always existed. The difference is they didn't congregate on the basis of being involuntarily celibate and unloved. Only through the anonymity of the internet is it not shameful for them to gather and complain.

Yes it can be reduced to that, but in reality people are inhibited by metabolism, hormones that affect appetite, habits, mental health. So they aren't just 'not doing something'. Yeah I've seen clips of that. It's a gooner game. It's okay to like smut. It's not okay to like smut and then turn around and judge men for cranking it to porn.

Lol I wonder if you'd feel that way if you saw wealthy people enjoying caviar on a yacht next to you. Would you resent that you'll never have the money and lifestyle they have?

If incels reject or refuse to pursue sex with women they aren't attracted to... Then you've proven that sex isn't a need lol.

My point was that it's the ego of men who you reject or avoid that is the issue. If people of a different race thought you were avoiding them due to their race and wanted to 'punish' you for it in some way, then yes, it would be similar.

Lol it's fresh in the mind because I recently got stuck in a loop with a user trying to get the same gotcha over and over, unable to compute any other response other than the exact one they had laid out in their mind.

Have you had to turn down a bunch of women because of their tattoos and piercings?

Bad faith basically means you have no intention to debate a topic in earnest. Instead you engage by feigning ignorance, being obtuse, deliberately misunderstanding the other person with strawmen, shifting goalposts, or otherwise manipulating the conversation to avoid genuine engagement. Some people can only get a 'gotcha' by trying to force you into binary answers. So they will repeat a yes or no question over and over and dismiss any nuance you would present. They are unable to rephrase or refr…

True, it's very much twofold, because the original art is just superior. I told my husband of my discovery and he said he wouldn't mind if I bought the originals, but he seems gutted that he was deliberating between the two and chose wrong.

Hah yep in May of last year lmao. Funny enough, one of his best friends is getting married this year on the exact same date.

No idea. I could definitely contact the seller and be like "Yo this is plagiarized, if you don't refund me I'll be reporting you to Etsy." I don't know if I just skip the seller and go straight to Etsy if they will refund my husband.

Aw man. My husband bought me some wall art for a present, and he said he was deliberating between two with the same character art but with different backgrounds and borders. And upon closer inspection, the one he didn't buy was the original artist, and the one he bought was a fraudulent copy where they erased and cut off several pieces of the character and fucked up the line weight across the art. So damn. Now when I look at it I just see the poor photoshop job and shitty scribbles of whoever tr…

I think people being systemically fat is a bigger issue than people being individually fat. Like the difference in obesity between the US and European countries is astounding. And most of that is because of the abundance of high volume processed foods and lack of logistically walkable cities. We need better blends suburbs and amenities. Being able to walk to do your errands would cut down on a lot of obesity. Ironically reducing the amount of space needed for parking lots would allow room for am…

Inflation spiked globally due to COVID fucking up the supply chain. If countries didn't mint more money, they were going into recessions. AI helped, but inflation was already going down by the time AI boomed. ChatGPT wasn't even widely available to the public until November/December 2022. The Fed’s rate hikes and energy price stabilization also brought inflation down.

What amount of women do you think get humbled with their dating standards eventually, and what amount of women do you think never have to lower their standards?
