PSA: Only do this with women who are both A) Self-Confident and B) Someone you are legit willing to lose. People love to throw around AWALT around here, but dread can backfire very easily.

I feel like it should be stressed that you clearly had an extreme caloric restriction and that is the only reason that you lost weight. Because that is the only way you can burn substantial amounts of fat. Focusing on protein is important for maintaining lean mass, though. That much is legit.

If there was one valuable thing I took away from my brief foray with formal "kink", it was the idea that, if a woman wants me to "rape" her, then she has to give me explicit consent to do so, either written or texted - preferably both, followed by confirmation after the fact. The more I've participated in this, the more formal I've gotten with it - and I am not afraid to lay it the fuck out. Seriously, if you are ever going to participate in a rape fantasy, then you should be able to show in cou…

Can you point out, exactly where you clarify nose rings are okay? You just say "or multiple piercings", which implies semantically that you are stating multiple piercings as a singular example of a "red flag". Yes, I am arguing semantics, but this is written word and semantics is pretty important here. This example becomes especially troubling since virtually every post on this sub regarding red flags mentions, as independent points on bulleted lists, each of the things you mention in one form o…

Any time I see a post that starts mentioning red flags on here, I throw up a little in my mouth. Here are some fun ones, starting with the ones mentioned on here: Bisexual Multiple/Unusual Piercings Short Hair Tattoos (apparently, even one is a hard-stop red flag) This is all complete, unfiltered horse shit. Here's my experience: Women tend to be bisexual more often than not. I'm not saying all of them are, but what the fuck is this supposed to imply, anyway? The implication that the count or po…

The only specific examples here are generic nonsense bullshit. I mean, yeah, you should have a firm handshake. That has nothing to do with TRP. That's "Shaking Hands 101". Setting your shit on a desk to somehow symbolize that you own it? What? I mean, don't get me wrong - it's good that you could go in there calm and confident, and it's cool you feel like TRP helped you achieve this, but the extent of useful or interesting information in this post is "TRP turned me from a snivvling girl-boy who …

If we, collectively, are nature, then you are the same as everyone here and you are throwing a fit about yourself. I mean, are you really here to bitch about other people bitching about things, and then following that up with saying that we should just do what's natural? Kind of lame. I mean, seriously, I agree with a lot of your post. I post here quite a bit and I've read a lot of the material, but I think that people who approach it with dogmatism are pretty far off the mark. This happened to me once, back in college. I met a girl who had the same faculty advisor/mentor for her capstone project as me. I was one of his honors students, she was one of the non honors group. She had dropped a report off with the professor, and she and I somehow got started talking about my research and ended up chatting for several hours. Super intelligent, super foxy, sweet-seeming girl. A solid 8+ in my book. I'd never met her before, and kicked myself for not getting her number (I was…

I'll PM you sometime today if so get a chance, but let's get this out of the way, first: The idea that metabolism goes down during calorie restriction is mostly founded on starvation studies like the Minnesota starvation experiment. A bunch of people at their ideal weight were put on a strict, regulated diet of very specific foods, at about 50% of their TDEE, for several months. And their metabolism went down. By less than 30%. The big takeaway from literally every caloric restriction study I've…

I did, actually - I'm 6 feet tall and had 186lbs of lean mass when I started. I lost one by the time I was done doing cardio and switched back to lifting. There is a big difference between a sedentary, obese person and a lifter who is trying to cut, absolutely. The main idea is that your body prefers to use fat to fuel your daily activity, but the leaner you get, the more your body has to turn to other things (like your muscles) to get what it needs. If you take a guy who is 300lbs overweight, a…

That is more or less true, in the sense that yes - less efficient methods of ambulation will definitely burn more calories. The main reason I would suggest higher intensity exercise over lower intensity is for the cardiovascular benefits, though. And I don't just mean the heart. Fitness is reflected in so many parts of your body.

Here's a hilarious bit - 100% of excess lipids in the blood are either converted into glucose (very efficiently), or stuffed immediately into fat cells, but Keto is all about eating fat, you know, because we need fatty acids for our brains to not die. But all the Keto diet does is skip the insulin/glucose feedback loop and drops the fuel directly into the mouth of fatty acid synthesis and gluconeogenesis. The point, though, is that it burns more calories and more grams of sugar to convert carbs …

Wait, what? Do you know what calories are? I mean, I don't like to be rude, but your post there is so ridiculous I almost just walked away... but I can't. I can't do it. I can't let this stand. First, let me get this out of the way before there is any misunderstanding - the key to losing weight/burning fat is to maintain a calorie deficit. I'm not going to say that there are no mitigating factors and that calorie deficit is 100%, but I'm talking a solid 90%. If you are, in fact, maintaining a ca…

Haha I definitely didn't mean to imply that an obese guy would be rocking 1000 calories per hour. I just threw out an approximate number I was pretty familiar with for the 1 hour of good cardio ~= 1000 calories. My point was in response to Sepean's comment: Look, exercise doesn't help you much in losing weight, if at all Even if a person can only muster the enthusiasm to burn 300 calories - That's more than you will likely ever be able to increase your TDEE by any means, so saying that exercise …

That's a good point, but I think it's irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Obviously, in the course of going from the 12%BF I was in 2011 to needing to lose 80lbs in the first place involved me getting very out of shape. But brisk walking every day turns in to something reminiscent of Couch to 5K (Walk a minute or two, run a minute or two, walk a minute or two, lather, rinse, repeat), and a few months later you are running three miles and burning well over 500 calories each time. That's not…

So, first of all, I'm not here to say that Keto isn't a good way to lose weight, because for many people it is. I'm not convinced that it's the biochemistry of Keto itself more than the fact that most people on Keto eat fewer calories than they did before, but it definitely helps many people lose weight, so more power to them. But allow me to provide some comments: A: More than controlling the pH of your blood, and more than counting macros, and more than any shit like that, the primary factor i…

Look, exercise doesn't help you much in losing weight, if at all. You lift while cutting so you don't lose muscle mass. Never cut without lifting. An hour of good cardio can burn 1000 calories, so bullshit exercise doesn't help. Also, an obese person doesn't need to lift while cutting to retain muscle mass unless they are doing way, way too much cardio. Your body burns fat and sugar preferentially to protein and the only way to shift that balance involves fucking with your glycogen stores (which…

Oregon. The tickets were municipal courts (I believe) in two different counties, and the restraining order (It was a "FAPA - Family Abuse Protection Act" protective order) was circuit court. The same event that lead to the FAPA order (I defended myself against her boyfriend when I was trying to see the child my ex and I raised together) also lead to some misdemeanor criminal charges against me, because of course they did, which I ended up having dismissed via civil compromise. The general gist of this may be true to some extent, this is some balls-to-the-wall, Grade A exaggeration here. I say this as a guy who - 1: Has defeated two speeding tickets in front of a judge, once with the issuing officer in attendance. Both were cases where I asked the officer to see the radar lock, which he was unable to provide (both times they said they had already cleared it). 2: Defeated a domestic violence protective order in family court with two witnesses against me, representing my…

Let me just say this: Me as a regular masturbator: Great sex drive, reliable and raging hard erections during sex, and nearly incapable of getting off from a pussy. I had to be finished with a mouth + hand, or I did it myself. Basically, I was approaching sex god status for most women I was with. Me as a no-fap: Low sex drive, weaker/unreliable erections, and if I didn't watch it I could finish in 10 seconds flat. NoFap basically ruined me. I think that what you are getting at here may be true for many people, but I don't think it's as universal as you are implying. Of course, I appreciate the idea of generalization in moderation, but there are some strange assumptions here, and I can use myself as a (biased) example - seeing as how I lost my virginity when I was 26 or 27 (I don't exactly remember...). Thanks for this comment - I agree completely. The main thing I dislike about these kinds of posts is that they don't come with adequate disclaimers that, in this case, AWALT doesn't ring true, and as always - dread/ghosting has to be handled with precision and skill. I'm also not sure I agree with idea of pre-emptively ghosting/dread-gaming... any women. I definitely like the idea that, in a lot of ways, just listening to yourself is the key to success in these things. You need to observe what is happening, explain it to yourself, and do better next time. The affirmations and mantras bit has been especially useful to me, especially with the recognition that sometimes bullshitting yourself is the key to pursuing self-actualization, so to speak. I picked this up from a post quite some time ago on here, but one of my main go-tos when I'm talking to…

Are you asking if you can get out of an imposed friendzone? Yes, but if involves fucking lots of other women, and not giving a fuck if you get out of the friend zone. That's pretty much the trick.

No, not really. The trick is to not fucking try. Got friendzoned? Go out and fuck other women. Let her see that you are a desirable, valuable man. Don't put her on a pedestal. Basically, let her see you exhibiting alpha behavior without it necessarily being directed at her. Alphas don't get put in the friend zone. I guess the only hard part is being receptive enough to IOIs that you can tell when that switch has been sufficiently switched, and claim your prize. Granted, I've only been able to te…

If you remove the word "shaming" from this post, then it is an interesting, if flawed, read. Otherwise, it's almost laughably off-base, but I must digress and recognize that you are basing this assertion off of a very flawed assumption: That fat shaming will actually make a difference. Sadly, fat shaming doesn't do shit to encourage people to lose weight. In fact, fat shaming only makes people fatter: Perceived Weight Discrimination and Changes in Weight, Waist Circumference, and Weight Status T…

Haha, that study is actually pretty up-front about its selection bias. But, you're right, and I don't necessarily mean to be argumentative. I have a tendancy to get fired up about biology topics. My degree and all. Let me clarify a few points, though: 1: I am definitely not suggesting that finasteride isn't effective, or a good option for many people. 2: I am well aware of the fact that the risks are small My main argument is that the risks, while small statistically, are not small in terms of p…

I probably should have clarified - I looked for studies discussing finasteride's effects on estrogen, and thus far I haven't found any thing but evidence of side-effects that are signs of high estrogen/prolactin. This study is old, but they state that the most common side-effect of finasteride was gynocomastia - development of breast tissue. I wear a beard. It's a fine beard. I oil this beard daily. This is critical to my beardly lifestyle. I make my own beard oil, because shit's unnecessarily expensive. I use a base of Sweet Almond and Argan Oils with Vitamin E. To this I add clary sage, tonka bean, blood orange, rosemary, amber, bourbon, sandalwood and mahogany oils. I give great beard.

I think the side-effects of finasteride would be... something that would pop up after long-term use, simply based on the way it works. I can't imagine taking it without regular blood tests and extreme caution. Male pattern baldness is caused, in large part by DHT, which is a form of testosterone. Finasteride is a DHT blocker, which keeps testosterone from being converted into DHT. That itself is fine. DHT is responsible for development of secondary sexual characteristics in men, but as we age th…

You actually mentioned the source of the consensus (derived from studies I've read) - the casein doesn't actually last long enough to make it through the night. When you first go to sleep, your body is still mostly in "anabolic mode", and while some casein may help keep your liver glycogen up for an extra hour or two, it is only slightly delaying the inevitable and expected. Hehe, and after having spent three days in the hospital and having as many units of blood transfused, I have spoken to man…

In addition to some of the other comments here, make sure you aren't spending any time in your bed outside of Sex/sleep. Don't kick back in bed to read, or anything like that. That said, I've read studies about eating a ton of protein before you sleep to fight of catabolic muscle breakdown, and it seems the general consensus is that it doesn't really help. I just realized I got double lucky - back when I worked/DJ'd for my college radio station, our female station manager was super chill, and when the campus Women's Resource Center (aka the SJW Corps) tried to me and a buddy fired repeatedly, she derived great pleasure from telling them to go fuck themselves until their sacred genitals caught on fire. Being intimidating/coming across as threatening is antagonistic behavior, which starts fights. Like I touched on before, what you are suggesting would be useful in an environment that is already highly antagonistic, but I am contending that an intelligent individual with his shit together isn't likely to spend a lot of time in those environments as an adult. Nothing you described is necessary, desirable, or responsible for a man who is in control of his shit. If your life is as comparable to high-school as you've described it above, then you need to seriously rethink where you are spending your time, and who you are spending it with, and spend less time being ready to lose frame at the drop of a hat. I think I've been pretty fortunate with my current contract. Most of the women at this organization are pretty worthless (but then again... so are many of the men... they just complain less), but my supervisor here is a woman and she seems to be pretty awesome so far. Man, if you don't like her, the person (women are, after all, humans who can be liked on a personal level) enough to have an LTR with her, then don't. If you want to be with her then man up and do it. If your mindset that you can do better ruins it for you, then own it and don't fuck with her.

I hate it because you cannot create tingles through texting, you can only destroy them. Everything besides this line is pretty solid. You absolutely can generate tingles via text. You can also destroy ASDs via text, and take the air out of LMRs before you've even met the girl. It is even possible to get a girl hooked with a non-sexual dating profile, to making out/sex within minutes of meeting her in person for the first time via text. I think its really only useful as far as metaphors typically are. It's really related to the concept of self-actualization, or the notion that we should strive first that our human needs are fulfilled, and then that we are happy and satisfied. Ultimately, that struggle is ours. Obviously a human can't achieve true omnipotence/omniscience/aseity, but actualization should bring us as close as possible. Human omnipotence is characterized by establishing control over your life, and to some extent, t…

even a negligible amount of muscle burn is unacceptable, when it can be planned around and accounted for. I believe I've actually read that study, and my takeaway was this: Increasing levels of obesity and increasingly sedentary lifestyles are probably to blame. This is an entirely separate problem, though. The study was either the only of its kind, or one of very few, so the phenomenon hasn't been well studied for actual suggested causes beyond the theoretical. Mean testosterone levels, especially in young men, are still not low. It's definitely an interesting look at the issue, though.

Most young men now have no frame and low testosterone. Haha, you lost me here, man. Welcome to the bandwagon. This is absolutely not true. Try this: We did not include men 20-29 years old in the prevalence estimates because so few had low testosterone and the reasons for their low levels are more likely due to congenital hypogonadism rather than due to aging. From here. Fewer than 2% of men in the 20-29 age range have low T. This study looked at almost 1400 men and the mean testosterone level on…

I think you are hitting on the functional different between "being stoic" and "appearing stoic". But you are right, I think, in the sense that the primary goal is to exist above your emotions, so that whatever emotions you may be experience don't affect your behavior/break your frame.

It really depends on the jurisdiction (i.e. the prosecutor), and how much damage you manage to inflict on the other person. You are absolutely right that "two guys got in a fight, and here's the guy who won" doesn't make sense from a criminal justice standpoint, but when you say things like "Doubt such a case is worth any prosecutors time", I think you are sidestepping the reality of the situation a little. People can and do get convicted of assault over petty fights (especially if they have a r…

Haha, we all wish that. It takes practice, I guess. And stoics need not necessarily be apathetic loners. I think that hinges a lot on the efficiency of your ability to internalize shit. Again, it's not about not feeling, it's about not showing how you feel. I definitely feel shit, all the time. Sometimes "hiding" that necessitates retreating somewhat. I probably spend more time in monk mode than most, as I recharge. For me, it's about internalizing my emotions, picking them apart and trying to u…

When I lived in a country where it was legal to pay $50 for a half-hour blowjob, I appreciated the option. Unfortunately, I now live in Oregon, and the risk far outweighs the benefits.

Are you suggesting that people don't get convicted of assault literally all the fucking time?
/r/TheRedPill29/02/16 11:12 PM

That may be true, but the one that does could damn near ruin your life. I say this as a guy who was charged with assault because of a fight with a guy who was manacing and disrespecting me. I got lucky and it only cost me $4000 to get it thrown out.

This is why I prefer classical stoicism to the IDGAF moniker. A stoic is "a person who can endure pain or hardship without showing their feelings or complaining." Note that it says nothing about not having a good time or pursuing the things you want, nor does it say anything about being an unfeeling, stone-cold shit. It means that when shit doesn't go your way, even if it bother the fuck out of you, you don't show it. When a girl tells you to go fuck yourself, you don't turn into a bitch about i…

I'm growing a little weary of post after post asserting that human alpha males are somehow genetically superhumans. Of course, these posts are usually speckled with praise for Dark Triad men (who are, generally speaking, the closest thing to actual evil that humanity can muster). The truth is, many scientists argue that there is no such thing as human alpha males, which, if true, makes all of this discussion absolute bullshit. I think you touch on this a bit, which is great. Human social hierarc…

I like this for the most part, but I wanted to point something out: If cardio is causing you to lose muscle, then you are either: A. Doing too much cardio. or B. Not getting adequate nutrition. Your body substantially using catabolic processes on your muscles is an indicator of malnutrition. Remember that running for an hour can easily burn 1000 calories. If you are running an hour every day and that 1000 calories isn't enough to replace the glycogen you burned the day before, then you will even…

This is why you need to know your body and pay attention to it. If you are packing on extra fat when "bulking", then cut 50 calories at a time until you stop gaining fat and that squishy bit on your hip goes back down. There's no reason to pack on 10 lbs of fat intentionally.

Fist off, I have to ask - did you seriously just suggest that autism is caused by feminization of western society? Really? Otherwise, I think you make some good points - but I don't think we should be took quick to put Goku on an alpha pedestal since Chi Chi has him pretty pussy whipped. It's definitely a great example of continually improving yourself, not matter how much you are defeated. Defeat should never lead to you giving up. Obviously it's ridiculously over the top fantasy, but we are ta…

All of that is certainly true (I mean, hey, we still have that 30-36% to work with), but studies on heritability are specifically designed to control for exactly what you are describing to single out the genetic factor. As far as I know, all personality disorders are this way (NPD just happens to be the most genetically based) - You may have been made a psychopath by your upbringing, but you may have just been born that way. You may have been born on the borderline, but your upbringing drove you…

While you are correct that there is a spectrum of narcissism from none to "Healthy Narcissism" to disordered/pathological narcissism, the following statement is problematic: The narcopath is effectively a synthetic psychopath, narcopathy >is always socialised. So, I think this misses something: "Being Alpha" is a learned behavior (with a special exception - read on). You can be tall and ripped with a chiseled jaw and a juvenile hairline and be otherwise be a genetically perfect Adonis but still be a beta bitch. On the other hand, you could be a Dark Triad type with Prader-villi. The possible exception to this is true Dark Triad types. Dark Triad traits have been found to have a strong genetic factor. This kind of thing really can work. When I lived in Japan and was learning the language, at one point I started something of a hobby with a buddy of mine - we would go to clubs/bars that we don't usually frequent, approach random Japanese women (well, somewhat random - we specifically targeted attractive women), and fumble through our broken Japanese to find new, more and more suggestive or direct pick-up lines. Inappropriate was key. We called it "Perapera Nanpa Renshuu" or "Fluent Smooth-talki…

In my experience, Stacked > Skinny > "Average"/"Dad-Bod" > Fat. Definitely lift, but remember that there are far, far more women out there who are attracted to skinny men than average or fat men. You are on the right side of the spectrum, and you should be able to derive confidence from that. My last LTR preferred skinny pale guys with long hair to built, bearded/bald guys like me. She was certainly attracted to me, but I know for a fact that she would have preferred fewer muscles. This definite…

There was a post on here a while back that basically asserted that, if you think anything about yourself in relation to a woman, it should be "I'm more attractive than her". I find this is actually helpful, once you actually integrate it seamlessly. Why the hell shouldn't I be talking to that 9 over there? I'm more attractive than her. Fake it 'till you make it, whatever. It works for me.

I look at Alpha/Beta as a spectrum, and believe that not only is it acceptable to shift along this spectrum, but that being too far to either end is where the danger lies. I don't believe it's possible to be all alpha, all the time, and still find satisfaction and happiness any more than it is to do so as "a beta". There are times when success lies on one side of the middle, and times when it lies on the other. That's why, generally, I dislike aspiring to be "alpha". I prefer to say that I aspir…

Hey man, you could use a chill pill, or a nice swift kick of stoicism to your ass. There are approx. 150,000,000,000 posts here that say "Don't get married". It is an accepted, common theme here to: ...judge what any other man does or doesn't do in regards to his reproductive rights What does it add to the community? It opens up discussion about something that is basically dogmatically insisted upon here. Will other guys benefit from it? Maybe they will, maybe they won't. Your reply is nothing b…

I think that if I knew her as a heroin addict or someone who loved drunken gangbangs at parties, that would be an issue for me, but my eyes work well enough to update my dick on the current situation. As for a hot girl letting herself go a little, I think you are right but the way I see it - if you knock 1-2 points off of a 7-9 (the "hotness range" on my arbitrary, personal rating system), then you are left with a 5-7, which is either still technically hot or, at very least, fuckable. Normally I would agree with you, and from a philosophical standpoint, I actively do agree with you, but from a perspective of pragmatic reality, this is the approach that has worked best for me with this girl. I've tried to go cold-turkey, after our first break up, but she found her way back into my life after two months and it was a disaster. It was like I was trying to build an emotional damn to reclaim my stoicism, her coming back two months later was akin to testing it with a tsunami. I fold…

I disagree that genetics contributes much the way that you are implying. If you are 6 feet tall and 210 lbs @ 8% bodyfat and carry yourself like a fucking alpha, you could be missing an eye or have a poorly corrected cleft palate, acne scars, and a nose that looks like a porpoise and you could probably still get that pussy. I have concluded from experience that as long as you are visibly very fit and you carry yourself well (ie show high SMV/confidence), then women will find you attractive. I ha…

If you knew that she posted pictures of her exes all the time, then you would have something to measure against. Without that info, there is nothing to say here beyond pure speculation. Some women will plaster their facebook with pictures of their boyfriend, especially the two of them together, but these tend to also be the clingy, crazy women. Others just don't, or do only very rarely or after the relationship is "stable" and long term (they can potentially lose face if they post a bunch of pic…

I'm not so sure it's universal. I was a virgin until my late twenties and by now, in my mid thirties, I've fucked 3 girls who I knew in my early twenties. That said, most of the reason I was a virgin for so long was because I set up mental walls and was, realistically, beta as fuck when it came to the idea of sex, and not because I was a fat, awkward gamer (gamer, yes, 'till death and fuck you, too). Too many people here seem to be of the opinion that being stoic means you can't be a goofy guy who has fun all the time. But being stoic means being in control of your emotions and being immune to the bullshit the world throws at you. It means being immune to misfortune because you accept the natural order of things. Nothing about that says you can't spontaneously practice backflips in the freezer section at safeway. It just means you have to accept it when you break your tailbone, and not compl…

I have a picture of myself that I ran through one of those make-over apps. I look a little bit like Tim Minchin in it, but it is a great way to include myself in things to a ridiculous degree. Plus, if a girl jokingly tells me I'm fucking hot in the picture, I can playfully lightly slap them, point my finger at their nose, and command them to behave themselves. I've never been banned, though.

I made it a goal of mine to compliment a person I didn't know about something at least once every day.
