Outside of the U.S., asking for a job applicant's Race, Marital Status, Age, Sexual Orientation, and Gender during the Application Process is against the law in many places. It's supposed to be illegal in the US too. The problem is that they ask for the information claiming it's "just for records" (to supposedly prove they don't discriminate on race / gender / age / etc), but you're an idiot if you think they don't use that information to "promote diversity".
