Second DivorceI’m going through my second divorce now and yes, It feels like a big fail, until I imagine staying where I was and realising I would have had to give up on myself to do so. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/09/22 07:43 AM

Anyone became homeless after their divorce?I’ll be sleeping on my sisters couch for 2 months from this Saturday. I told my boss what was happening and he offered my a relocation package so I took it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/02/22 08:17 AM

Getting over the divorce. A useful guide I came across. It’s a lightweight over view but still one of the better ones. Where as most advice is catered for women even though traditionally their support network is more established than mens. Funny you should point out that men are more attached. I experience quite the opposite but perhaps that’s a reflection of mine and STBXW relationship. Not living with my two small girls is painful and I think it’s a matter of me becoming stronger rather than the pain reducing. I’m finding comfort in Stoic quotes at… | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/02/22 01:56 PM

(29M) - Tired of providing for an ungrateful wife (28F) who raises my blood pressure with every conversation that we have. I don’t possess the confidence to leave, nor the willpower. We have no children, nor any assets. Please guide me before I lose my mindDude, I suspect, like many here, you’ve fantasised about leaving for a long time. You know what to do, look into and plan, WITH DATES, when you’re going to GTFO of there. You’re a good guy who got sucker punched. Get out, leave, go. DO NOT have sex ‘one last time’. Keep your tongue, make a plan, do it. You’re stronger than she thinks you are. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/02/22 11:36 PM

The shit just sneaks up on you - passed "our" restaurant this morning ...The guilt is a real gut punch. It what’s kept me in this marriage longer than I should have been. Together 16 years, married 12. Two daughters 9 and 5 and I’m relocating so that they won’t be used as a way to continue to mindf**k me as much. They will stay with me during holidays. There’s no easy here and a large part of me is actually grateful that it hurts so much because I tells me that I’m not the man my STBXW has treated my like after what she did 5 years ago. Hold tight out there. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/02/22 08:01 AM
What do you guys DO?I run now and it freakin’ rules all over the b.s It started as a stroll, then a walk, a brisk walk, trot and stop, trot, jog run, sprint and each time I tried I got better at it. The pain doesn’t change, you get stronger. Deep down you know what you want to do so get too it brother. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/02/22 07:35 PM

I read this in an article today and it spoke right to me. Can anyone else relate?Apologies ‘gut wrench’. Yeah, the same, I’m not a quitter but you have to know when to. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/02/22 10:19 AM
I read this in an article today and it spoke right to me. Can anyone else relate?Did you feel guilty about the feeling of relief? Followed shortly by the guy wrench? How did you choose to deal with what had to be done afterwards? | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/02/22 09:16 AM
I read this in an article today and it spoke right to me. Can anyone else relate? This describes very well what my situation has been for years. The look of shock and surprise the day I said that I’m done with her bs was comedic. It’s a gut punch to do this (married 16 years, have 2 girls 8,4). My kids cannot see their dad be a sad and bitter man and think that’s ‘normal’ when they find a man. The easiest thing in the short term was just to take the hits but last week, something just broke and it’s dead inside. It was over something pretty trivial but in that moment I knew th… | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/02/22 08:38 AM

Couples therapyIt was useful in an unexpected way. My wife suggested we go to couples therapy with the expectation that ‘I had problems’. The therapist saw us both together and then individually and advised that my wife continue with therapy and not me. That went down like a fart in an elevator. Apparently, it was my fault that the therapist thought that way. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/02/22 11:00 AM
What’s the longest you’ve gone without seeing your kid(s)?You got this mate. The can sometimes be like weather and it will pass. Creating a ‘daughter arc’ that you can pour your thought and feelings into for when she is older would be more than anything you could buy. Good luck brother. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/02/22 08:26 AM
What’s the longest you’ve gone without seeing your kid(s)?Shit bro, I feel this in my guts for you and I want you to know that there’s no easy answer but that we want you to stand firm. Take a breath and message your kids every day, get a book, right down your messages to them ready for the day that you can give it to them. Get a box and place things in there for them , even silly things like shells, shiny stones, receipts and drawings. You WILL see them again but not knowing when cannot be allowed to wound you. Grind your ex down with kindness, do not… | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/02/22 07:40 AM
Hate women after divorceYes, I’m feeling that right now. It feels like when a beaten dog sees the whip, I get real tense and nauseous when I have to converse with women. I know I shouldn’t have to, but Pavlov, you know. I don’t know if it’s going to pass but I just can’t see a day when I’ll ever get close to a woman again. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/02/22 07:02 AM
Divorce and Young KidsI feel you. The weight is crushing but we keep on going for them. There’s no win here. Hoping you have some peace. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/02/22 06:58 AM
Divorce and Young KidsI’m just about to do the same. Two girls 8 and 4 and it’s ripping my guts out. I’ve hung on for the last 3 years but the other day I lost my shot for the first time and was angry at my toxic wife in front of the girls. I don’t want to see a father mad, sad and bitter and grow up thinking that’s normal. So I’m leaving. It hurts already but it is the best outcome as far as I can see. All I have is guilt, anger and heartbreak at what I have to do so at least when they are able to be with me, they s… | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/02/22 09:01 PM
