I read this in an article today and it spoke right to me. Can anyone else relate?

That was pretty good. It only belittled men a little bit. And I liked the part about men being more attached.

Men do better when they have adequate income is a strange way to say "if you don't have to live on the streets, divorce is easier."

It’s a lightweight over view but still one of the better ones. Where as most advice is catered for women even though traditionally their support network is more established than mens. Funny you should point out that men are more attached. I experience quite the opposite but perhaps that’s a reflection of mine and STBXW relationship. Not living with my two small girls is painful and I think it’s a matter of me becoming stronger rather than the pain reducing. I’m finding comfort in Stoic quotes at the moment. Does anyone else have a quote or saying that they recite when the weight starts to crush?

There is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will.

This too shall pass. Say it when things are down. Say it when things are up. Helps keep me grounded.

And I liked the part about men being more attached.

From having seen a few messy separations on either side, it's generally one spouse that initiates the divorce. In that case, they likely have thought over and reconciled it over a long period of time, so it appears like they "got over" it much faster than the other spouse.

This generally catches the other spouse by surprise or they might have pushed away/suppressed ideas that separation is likely so it's going to take them a while to reconcile/get over it after they get the news and separation.

Getting over a divorce can be difficult for anyone, but research studies have shown that men have a harder time getting over a divorce than women in many cases.

Probably because men aren't the ones who usually file and then they get divorce raped on top of that.

In addition to these hurdles, men are often more emotionally attached in their marriage than women.

See above.

Men also must face more emotional adjustment challenges than women, primarily because of the loss of intimacy, social connections, and reduced finances.

Ah, there it is!

Men may also face more challenges when managing custody and visitation, depending on the divorce circumstances and the nature of the relationship. In some of these cases, men must also cope with losing time with their children.

Because men are usually the hard-working bread winners who bust their asses for their families and then get punished with huge alimony and child support payments that they then have to continue busting their asses for - but SURPRISE!!! When you work that much you can't be available for your kids anymore. Want to take a less demanding and lower paying job to be more available for your kids?? FUCK YOU! PAY UP MOTHERFUCKER!

Income level affects divorce in a big way. If you are financially stable and make enough income to support a household on your own, you are much more likely to move on from divorce quickly.

It's ok, the courts will see to it that this will never happen.

Im sure ill be sad a liitle but man.....She makes everything in life actively worse. Any issues I have with life she piles on, its exhausting. Cant help but know it will be so much better once free. She has no feelings at all. Like no happiness or love or empathy she just plays a role in front of others and goes on with her miserable existence....all while blaming me for her miserable existence.

Never had problems with women although it will be harder at my age than it was in my 20s and 30s but Im fit, good job, own my home. I made sure to focus on me and not HER. Alot of men get swept up in demands and then are left with nothing when a bitch slips and falls on a new cock.

Always you first fellas. Always
