TRP accountability lesson: And how is the red pill relevant to me? That's not my religion. I don't believe in blaming people for what others do to them. That's how narcissists think. "It's your fault I did this." Is the exact kind of thinking I'm talking about. That isn’t what happy wife happy life means. It means different things at different times. You're right that that is how it works...in healthy relationships with women who are worth investing time into.

Because being a shitty partner usually ends in shitty relationships and that is an accountable consequence. If you're the reason why the relationship is shitty, the one facing the consequences is your partner. Can you be specific? She asked a vague, broad question, so she got a general answer. There's nothing to be specific about. If you want me to tell a sob story about my cheating ex making excuses for herself, you'll have to catch me on a different day. People who can't handle responsibility …

Who do women owe accountability to? What exactly are they being accountable for? The people around them. Their actions and how they affect others. What is the expected outcome of this accountability? Less dysfunctional relationships, more self-reflective people, less social cover for narcissists.

There are other ways to contribute to society than having kids. But go off, since you want to be offended. Maturity simply means willingness to suffer and live your life with the least amount of pleasure and personal enjoyment possible. It means finding a balance that doesn't leave everything you valued in life to rot after you're dead. There's a balance between enjoying your life and abandoning the world. we need to have more children Or become immortal, or learn some way to convince the people…

In the US context, Progressive entails a lot more than just broad social outlook, it's also about what you do about it. What your ideal modes of action are. I'm not a peaceful protest and coffee kind of guy. Still funny that the religious zealots keep having much more healthy attitudes though, right? I don't think they're more healthy, just more sustainable. You can live a lot longer if you drink the dirty water you're given rather than go thirsty looking for something perfect. Religious people …

You might be huffing paint if you think secular progressives control society. Books are getting banned, public libraries are getting privatized, public health officials are being banned from collecting data about covid. If you can't tell when you're winning, you might be losing the plot. Progressives don't have children because your values just don't fit very well with making those kinds of sacrifices. The fact that conservatives are the ones having families should make you wonder if something i…

TERF code detected... Hypergamy is about seeking what is above you. Men do not only find women who are more attractive than them to be attractive. Plenty of men are in relationships where they're the pretty one.

There will always be people with a fundamental difference of values and opinions. There will always be people fighting for more power. There will always be people with zero qualms taking what they want by force and deceit. No peace is permanent. No gains can't be lost. On this, we very much agree. Good luck to you too.

they're politicized by others. Politics is other people. And to other people, you are other people. There's no such thing as an apolitical decision. And believing that there is, is the worst political decision you can make. I made a decision to not smoke crack. A crack-less life is a decision. Just because you don't think about something doesn't mean that it wasn't a choice. it's just not something I have any reason to ever consider or think about doing. That's a reflection of your subjective ex…

Why the assumption that everyone will follow the values of their parents? Because broadly speaking, that is the case. If you adopt and raise kids of your own it has the same political benefit as having kids. Most people aren't opting out of having biological children, they're opting out of child-rearing period. Besides, there are always more natural-born children than adopted ones no matter how you slice it. At the heart of it, I just don't think education and nurture is a solution to the politi…

No, they don't. But if you are at all invested in the future of the society around you, someone is going to have to have the kids. The most sensible way to handle that is to have pro-social incentivizes for having kids. (Not punishing women who don't have them, instead making the decision to have children appealing to enough people that your population is stable or retracting in a manageable way) Likewise, people should have an understanding of what the personal and social costs are to not havin…

specialized education is never a scam If you end up working as a barista with 5 figure debt, yes it is a scam. men especially seem to be susceptible to getting lured in by this anti-education glamorized vision of hyper individualism because of how it gets marketed as masculinity. Men are susceptible to being lured in by the promise of results. Male social viability is tied to their wealth, and to the degree that education is a factor it's as an extension of that wealth. A broke man with a master…

We all benefit socially and economically when we all get to participate fully. That's the kicker, in a system which justifies its distribution of resources on the scarcity of participation and a discriminate means of compensating it, there is no full participation. We don't have full employment and there are not enough places for everyone with a degree to be paid and employed at the level and security that an education is traditionally assumed to provide. We live in a rat race. It demonstrably a…

I think people in my age range and younger are generally dispossessed of the things which older generations were able to ground their self-esteem and sense of self in. Many are living with their parents, most are missing what used to be considered normal milestones, so many are under socialized (and the cost to engage socially has risen financially, making this even worse). They're launching late if they're launching at all and all around there's more consequences in life than benefits. People t…

That's because most of the ideas around why things happen that get circulated are rationalizations, not reason. If there's an explanation for something that's easily repeated and spreads around like a virus, it's usually an oversimplification, if not just a convincing excuse. The thing about most socially liberal people is that they lead with ideals and they interpret reality in a way that either aligns with their ideals or at least in a way which salvages the moral superiority of their position…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/24 05:33 PM

Solidarity must be based on shared intellectual understanding, not just shared oppression. You need to read Rosa Luxembourg's essay "Reform or Revolution". Because you're treading old ground. The foundation of socialist organization is to build exactly that. Solidarity is not a metaphysical phenomenon, it's a shared understanding which comes from working people who have been politically educated to understand their social condition in relationship to one another. It's not a spontaneous feeling t…

It's a code word not just for coward but vicious coward, I'd say. I said I wouldn't quibble, but you said the c-word. So now I'm talking. I think you might want to interrogate why the label of socialist doesn't appeal to you, but that's something to do in your own time. But if you want a theme for all that I'm about to write: if you want anything you do and want as a normal person to last, you are going to encounter the same road blocks and dead ends that socialists have historically. Whether yo…

It takes time to grow and it takes dedication to maintain. I think his point is that women have no dedication to anything which does not feed her ego or materially benefit her position in society.

A social script is a broad set of expected behaviors and attitudes that people have for themselves and others. It's not a literal script. Mothers feeding their kids and keeping them safe is social script, it is the broad expectations placed on a parent.

yet women are beating you guys in higher education and home ownership, and quickly approaching in salary income. It sounds like cope. You don't need to be a morally developed human being to thrive in capitalism. It's quite literally to your detriment to have a conscience and values beyond what gets you the most individual comfort and wealth. A woman's ability to pull in more resources than she shares or gives out is not a mark of superiority. Certainly not on its own. Being supremely self-intere…

Dating women as a woman is fundamentally different. Your appeal is different, their trust of you is different, there are fewer risks to worry about (no pregnancy). So long as you don't have an STI and seem broadly trustworthy, there's not a lot to hold against you.

This is sad if this has been your experience. It's been a mixed bag. Most women I've known haven't been out to make me feel like chopped liver and I've had good friends over the years. It's just been very obvious time and again that they have no clue what to do with me and it usually results in me being sidelined or left out. And they're usually not very reflective on this. In my experience, women will do anything to a man so long as it makes her feel comfortable and the guy lets her do it. And …

I think you shouldn't expect loyalty or a deep bond because you gave someone dating advice once. With the way the guy is talking in the post, I don't think he means anything that heavy. Most times I see the word loyalty in the post it's interchangeable with reliable or dependable. This is what he brings up as examples of how men reciprocate: reaching out to hang out / paying for dinner/drinks after venting All I'm seeing is an expectation to take turns on initiating socializing, or at least bein…

I don't think it's a hardwired difference. My take on it is that women are more dependent on social scripts than men (not that men don't follow them too, it's just that most scripts men have to follow when it comes to women include improvising and being flexible, after a certain point we're all flying blind anyway) and that the available scripts that the average woman has for men are incompatible for a mutually beneficial friendship specifically with a man who is socialized as such. They genuine…

Why should the actions you've described result in loyalty? Because the recipient of these actions relies on the loyalty (read as reliability because that's appropriate to what OP is describing) of the source of the actions. Why shouldn't that be memoryless, as you put it, and affect your relationship only a little bit? I see this a lot on this sub, but being obtuse about common sense and basic decency is not a good approach to conversation. If you want to live in a world where no one owes anyone…

What do you consider overly attractive?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 09:37 PM

No desire to evolve.... No desire to evolve, for a man's benefit. Women are willing to make a lot of changes, work very hard, learn whatever they have to for their own ends. It's romance that inspires the rigidity. I'm known to ramble so I'll just say this: most of the issues that men face from women comes down to them just not liking us enough to try. Whether that dislike is just a lack of attraction or is a deeper kind of antipathy, that's the magic bullet. If women liked men more, we wouldn't…

I definitely wrote too much, but it's the only way I know how to make a coherent point. . But for Europe vs. U.S. I think it’s also a difference in regard for and attitudes toward one another that’s causing the women to distance I agree, but I don't think that it's unique to us or even that the Europeans are somehow immune. I think that in Europe, there's a stronger sense of in-group identity among the white Europeans for their co-nationals. French women may not fear French men in the ways that …

It's a mismatch in desire, in my humblest opinion. I don't think dating apps would be half as lopsided if the women genuinely wanted the same things but just had more options. It's the mix of both having way more than they could ever handle and barely wanting to date in the first place that creates the worst of the problems. Edit: An analogy that came to me. And I think you might be making assumptions as someone that either doesn't really watch it, or only watches the flashy stuff.

This isn't much a debate, more of a vent. But I think this is another one of those topics where conflating different groups of women is the source of most of the contradictions. There are a women who are genuinely looking for a connection with someone that values them. There are women who are grasping for the most impressive men they can find and they will absolutely jump ship if they find a better match. And there are women who genuinely can't get a date, there is a basement for women's attract…

The Beatles craze would have sent you into a sanitarium. I genuinely think that's a part of why men tend to dislike boybands and why things that teenage/young girls like tend to be more maligned. Unfiltered, consistent and mass scale female interest is kind of disturbing and probably upsetting on some gut level to a fair number of guys. Do you choose to jerk off to plain Jane's, or the hottest woman or cartoon you can find on the internet. I think you vastly overestimate how much gets it done fo…

Having female friends will red pill you more than the actual red pill content itself. In the sense of making guys more cynical, I have to back this up. It seems like women tend to think of themselves as a moderating force on the men in their lives when it comes to gendered stuff. And that is not a given. It really depends on how they treat men, and most women do not treat men well.

The problem that comes in when you attach basic social viability to economic mobility is that more people will drop out of than drop in. If you have a society where a working poor man cannot find a partner, your society is going to blow up at some point. Social connections are the glue of society, putting a premium on those things is just going to make things fall apart faster. Yeah, on a personal level, it's probably best to date when you've got some money. But will that necessarily change thin…

The first date is for a fantastic kiss that leaves you wanting more. Is that so? I've never had a relationship that went anywhere that didn't start off with more than that. Edit: Now that I think about it, if a woman just wanted to kiss and nothing else, I'd be suspicious.

I understand what you're saying and I agree. But, OP was talking about women saying their dates weren't "interested in long term". Which is a very different claim to make after multiple dates than just after one, or maybe even just words said before any dates take place. I'd like to know if they were jumping to conclusions early, or if they were dating men who had proven that they were uninterested in long-term.

/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/24 03:47 PM

I think the discourse over 4B will be a more potent social force than people actually doing it. More people are willing to talk and stress over the idea than are actually willing to put it into practice. But yes, hypothetically speaking, should a 4B movement get off the ground it would have a negligible effect on men. I think there are good reasons for women to practice 4B: organization (obviously class and economics doesn't move Americans on an effective level, not in our present politics, so i…

Nobody judges women for caution. What they're judged for is disparaging the people they're cautious of and then judging the people they disparage for being offended they they're being grouped in with rapists, sex pests, and murderers. It's not a good look and it breeds resentment.

I hope to date someone with compatible values. US politics are a mess, and only a fraction of the population even understands what's happening. So long as the woman I'm with has broadly similar commitments then there's not much more I can ask for, personally. Looking for a carbon copy of myself just seems unreasonable. Why go to the effort of finding a partner just to look for someone who repeats everything you already think back to you. I want compliment and contrast.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/24 03:29 PM

Full-on 24/7 hater? None. I've distanced myself from the women I've known who shit talked men around the clock. The first girl I had been with was like that. With self-respect comes peace. I don't need it. Some of the women I know might say something a little close for comfort, but they don't go that far and it's usually about being harassed, so I don't hold it against them.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/24 07:46 AM

I haven't seen anyone advocating to cater to conservatives. But yeah, I agree that liberal/progressive/left of center women should be building more common ground with men who are likeminded. Should be a no-brainer. I don't believe that will translate into electoral wins necessarily, but it will create more robust civil society and capacity for community resistance. Horizontal organization is the only real remedy to social rifts we have. Women need unions, rifles, wages and lots and lots of frien…

Holding me accountable? It's not a secret that I post here. Digging through people's comments to make your point is weird. This isn't Twitter. It makes sense for one simple reason. You are not safe to talk to. Whoever is more likely to blow up the friendship over feelings being expressed is the one who has to make it their responsibility to keep the relationship the way they like it. Because if you turn basic attraction into a relationship ending condition, you've put your guy friend in an unspoken ultimatum if they ever develop feelings. I think in actual life, the guys have more to go on than just being used. There are hints of interest or at least reciprocal friendship that make it seem unfair, premature, or unreasonable to just cut them off completely. I've had a lot of women as friends. The only way to know that there's a shot at a long term relationship is if you want him in the first place. Women are too avoidant most of the time to hold back on sexual interest because they're more likely to get bored with you than think it's a sign of commitment or respect.

Just a hunch. But considering the massive differences in dating culture between just the US and Europe, it's probably more about culture and overall physical/mental health. There's very little room socially for men to do anything but assess women as potential partners, if said man does not have potential or actual partners. That doesn't mean that men only do that, they don't, I don't. But that is what we are incentivized to do by our social position. Women: Fate will not deliver happiness to you. Stop praying and start looking. You can deserve everything in this life or the next, but manifesting without working toward your goals is just going to break your heart. And I really don't want to see you hurt because you trusted the cards more than your lying eyes. If you're alone, you have to go where the people are. It's that simple. Men: Don't forget to cultivate a philosophy while you're hustling, a rich man with no soul is everybody's problem …

Sorry for not getting what you’re saying. The being repulsed by food thing. I also honor my Scandinavian heritage by putting ketchup on my omelettes 😂 Ooooh, you just reminded me, hashbrowns go great with omelets and the ketchup just brings it all together. You know what, I'm done on reddit today, I'm gonna go eat.

In the south mushrooms don’t belong in omelettes? I meant that more as a "I'm not going to tell you how to diet". Mushrooms can absolutely go in an omelet, but it's not usual. At least I don't think it is. I'm more of a chicken, spinach and a Mexican blend for the cheese. (which includes the cheddar, I just like a mix) Sometimes I'll throw on some mozzarella cause it burns nice. Most of the flavor in my eggs comes from the seasonings and spices, any hard ingredients I add are kind of an aftertho…

sea salt dark chocolate covered almonds Ahh, I got you, the salt would even out the bitterness. Protein shakes are bc I HATE eating before like 2pm lol which is really bad for you so protein shakes mitigate that cause I can drink one right away in the am. Why do you hate it? Does it mess with your energy levels? Is it a work flow thing? You don't like breakfast food? Cause I can understand the first two, I'm the same way but my love of breakfast food balances things out.

But you don’t want a girl you’re dating to ASSUME lifelong commitment and then be shocked when you aren’t on the same page. You know what, fair. And depending on what the situation was with that woman with the trip, there should have been a conversation about expectations. No way to know if there was or if there wasn't, but you're right that it's necessary. Milk chocolate is so nasty. It's unhealthy. But that's why it's goood. I mean it’s not even her husband. Not to psychoanalyze you or anybody else, but a rigid approach to titles usually goes hand in hand with those attitudes I mentioned. If you need a title to determine how you treat someone, then you undermine the entire point of the title. I can only speak for me. But the woman I marry will be the woman who treats me like her husband, not the woman I hope will change overnight with a ring and a ceremony. That's just me. I remember a thread on here once upon a time about a woman who had gone on a trip without her boyfriend and absolutely refused to pay for him or wait for him to save up the money to go on the trip. Thinking that you're above generosity or reasonable obligations to your partner is a good example. Also, the women I've known have tended to tie a lot of their self-worth to their degrees and education. They genuinely feel like it makes them different people and they're worth more because of a piece o…

it really comes across as though he doesn’t care about a woman’s accomplishments and experiences. Any guy that actually respects his partner cares about these things in the sense of valuing the efforts of their partner. What guys mean by "they don't care" is that women do not need to have an arbitrary measure of social success to be considered worth their time. In reality, most men do have some broad standards and expectations. But even so, from what I've seen in others and know about my own sta…

The hell's a Janny. But in all seriousness, the only reason I replied to you is because I'm trying to meet you where you're at and hopefully change your idea of what you're missing out on. Men are not having female orgasms. Many of them are dull, the most consistent feeling I could probably ascribe to orgasming is relief and a clear head, and even that isn't all the time. It's not a profound experience, not all the time anyway.

Its more so that they, will often play nice to get along, even with women they dont like, so as not to be ostracized from the group. Oh absolutely. I think any given group of women does actually have a broad base of things they have common ground on, but so much of the public front of agreeableness is just them managing conflict by not instigating it. The conformity is a tension reducer, not a reflection of agreement.

If you are uncomfortable with the position your sexuality puts you in, that's a personal problem. It's no one's job to cleanse your mind of every fear you might have about someone. Transwomen don't transition because they believe being a man is hard That's not a hard rule. I'm trying to find the video where I learned about this but there actually is a subset of men who transition to escape manhood. They usually start as incels. It's not common, but it is definitely a thing. They don't have dysphoria so much as they feel trapped by being men so, they seek to transition in order to attain female value because they think they'll be seen as worthless as men.

I think the simplest way to put it is that we need more morals, but that understates the scale of the problem. We're too used to other people being cheap or worthless. The attitudes we have towards other people's humanity are downstream from our politics and economic structure so, we're incentivized for practical and ideological reasons to be quick to dehumanize others and prioritize ourselves. I think it's the nature of the economic system we live in. If dating platforms were non-profit, more optimized to actually give people tools to find a partner quickly and get off the platform, I don't think it would be nearly this bad. There's no way to take out the need to present yourself well, but the algorithms make it into a rat race for attention. could it change of users were put over profit incentives? Absolutely. No, women's disposition makes them more picky and men adjust to women's scarcity by maximizing their ability to contact multiple women. In an environment where you're not guaranteed to even be perceived when you attempt to make contact, you lower your threshold for engagement or you give up, those are the only reactions that make sense in that environment. All it does is put some better options in circulation for what is still a largely random process for them. They're gambling either way. Why work to just filter more trash. That's what they see most of what they get as. Why would they change themselves to add more work, to get more people in their DMs that they don't want. They're kind of in a double-bind where they have the incentive to be…

How can someone even live without interacting with 50% of the population ? I don't understand It's easy when that half of the population doesn't want to talk to them. I talk to women. And whether it comes from a place of prejudice or disinterest, I've never met a woman that wanted to speak to a man she didn't already know.

I think many conventional and attractive women (that's who that kind of content is for) understand on an instinctive level that they don't have to change for men. They should, and it might help their lives, romantically or otherwise, but whatever is wrong with them is not a fundamental dealbreaker. In an environment where you have as many options as you are willing to engage with, there's no incentive to self improve. Improvement doesn't have as much of a tangible effect on your prospects as it …

because a relationship shouldn't be about business, it should be about actually caring for one another. This is a philosophical claim. Material reality doesn't conform to philosophy. In reality, women sought out financially stable partners because love connections could leave you in a state of poverty. And their families sought them out for them as well. It's not that simple. Women and their needs (emotional, material, social, etc.) have always been the biggest driver of dating culture, such tha…

The rampant alcoholism and spousal abuse that occurred because of it is just a known historical fact. It's a big reason why the temperance movement lasted for so long and got so big, because it was addressing a fairly ubiquitous social ill that had real social costs on the women and children of the alcoholics they were dependent on for their livelihoods. It's one thing to call out hypocrisy in household obligations, it's another to pretend that history didn't happen. Even today, most violence wo…

I don't think there's much you can do to make up for it, but the quicker you can get some experience under your belt, the better off you'll be. I don't think this applies to women the same way as it does to guys. For women, not having a partner when they're a teenager is just a test of their social aptitude and maybe their libido. Neither of these are needed for them for them to find a relationship, though at least one of them is needed to find a good one I'd think. You can't say the same for me…

Most virgin woman I think I would agree for women who are decidedly virgins as a conscious choice, but for women who are just too anxious to take the lead in their sex lives, I don't think they're in line with that. most men get laid Perhaps if you're counting every man in existence at this current time, sure. But most dating discussions are concerned with the people who are unspoken for, the unmarried, the moderately young, and the stats don't bear this out last I checked. That idea is that "surplus men" are a socially volatile demographic, not that men will explicitly rise up because they're not getting laid. You're good, just making sure you know where I stand. I think people are more complicated than this. Edit: I don't think reactions to cheating take place in a rational way. Some people cling to what they don't want to lose, some people reject what they feel has rejected them. Some end relationships they're not in a position to leave and others hold onto them when they have every means to leave. Trying to systematize volatile emotional decisions is a bad idea.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 03:33 PM

Don't let it make you believe though that one woman finding you average means that every woman will find you average. Yeah, I think men allow the level of consensus women have around how they talk about certain traits/ideas to convince themselves that how women see those traits is the same. There's broad alignment on how things like height, dressing nice, etc. are discussed. But what that actually means in practice can vary wildly. Personally, I think it's weird, but what can I do.

It's not preposterous, just a large undertaking with a lot of emotional risk. I personally think it's unwise. There's a difference between being reckless and indiscriminate, and stifling intimacy at the foundation of what's meant to be a lifelong relationship. If you find a man that's willing to go potentially years without sex, don't be surprised if he doesn't want to touch you much once the rings come out. But if that's to you liking, do what you will.

I honestly feel like most men are more evolved when it comes to this stuff. Women's stagnation on matters of gender equality is dependent on the myth of the backward, sex-crazed, and common, woman-hating male. So long as they can convince themselves that men are terrible and unworthy of moral consideration, the gloves are off and they're free to be as unreasonable as they please, demand anything, use men to whatever degree they can get away with. It's very anti-social.

The original example was that women will cut off men who are judgmental and negative towards them. What is wrong with that and how is that not leaving room for men to be people? This is a general dynamic that goes beyond this one topic. I'm not talking about promiscuous women here, and I'm not quite sure why you think that I am. I'm speaking more about opening up about mild life struggles, hopes, dreams, etc. The fullness of a man's humanity is pretty stifled when dating the average single woman…

Lying will always be easier. I think that this is true in a broad way, but I think that women could make it a bit easier for guys to be honest. Men's biggest incentive to change their presentation is women's low tolerance of anything but the most curated experience of a man. If men had more room to be people, less women would be getting manipulated or surprised. Because men could actually think representing themselves honestly wouldn't be shooting themselves in the foot.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/24 08:47 PM

With all due respect, it seems like women accept this on a general level, but don't change much of how they interact with particular men. If they like what they hear, they're happy. And they'll keep on the pressure for the guys to stay under the radar.

I think it is more common for men to avoid and be cautious of promiscuity in women than to outright hate. From what I've seen, it's more of a "touch at your own risk" principle. Women who have been with a lot of men signal in multiple ways that they are a poor investment of energy and time. They might get you sick, might fuck up your mental health, might get you beat up, might disrupt your life. It doesn't have to come from a place of hatred, just self-preservation. I think guys who hate promisc…

I think examples like that don't help women understand because they need to feel invested in someone for their rejection to matter. Without the investment they'll just go "So? Why would I care?" The only women who'll get it are women who have the first hand experience of being unwanted by someone they wanted themselves and are willing to connect that real experience to what men go through.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/24 06:50 PM

And to piggy back off of this, the exceptions to this do not stay single for long. Any woman in a position to be attractive and wants a relationship can find one. Anything that is denied to you that you want and others get will have value ascribed to it. When the reasons that such things are denied to you are given as "you're not good enough" then it will be understood that your lack of this thing is a reflection of your value. Look around you, a lot of bad or ugly men have sex. That doesn't much matter. Sex will be important to people who feel it is important. You don't feel it's important. If you're looking for me to tell you something that's going to c…

Yup. Men can only be as proactive as women allow them to be. The myth of male agency is built on the idea that the average man is broadly viable with women and that those women even want men. The average guy is near completely dislocated from women and has none of the social capital needed to bridge that gap, nor are the women in any rush to do it from their end. Being in women's place means most of the things you are critically judged on as a man are now optional. You don't have to be a down th…

The unspoken assumption that artistry is what they look for in a partner. A partner that demonstrates the bare minimum of artistry, basic photography, that is settling. What if the photographer is also an artist but doesn’t make money doing it? This is like asking what store little Suzie bought her dozen apples at after reading a math problem. You're expanding a purposefully limited example. With the information given, all that can be said is that Person A likes artists and Person B barely count…

But you have your sanity and mental health intact. No, you don't. Being chronically single drives far too many men into despair for this to be the case. Some guys can hack it, but it's not a generalizable experience. Is this where misogyny originates from? Misogyny like most forms of antagonism, stems from a contradiction between opposing forces. So long as there are people who want different things from one another, the frustration of their mutual goals and expectations will create resentments.

Nature has no obligation to accommodate your philosophy, interpretation or morals. Nature doesn't care if you get your needs met, they still exist. At which point there would be no natural selection. It's not that women aren't easy to approach, it's that we live in a society in which most men are categorically rejected by the people they would be approaching. ...I gotta get laid. Like…. Ok I get it but it’s frustrating. I genuinely think so much of sexual incompatibility just comes back to these rhythm and sensitivity differences. Like, I don't know how many times I've read stories of women saying "don't stop, right there, keep doing that" and they're confused when the guy speeds up. Cause to a guy, those words mean "give me more of what's working, faster and harder". And I'm sure you know this. I'm just saying it seems like such an easy miscommunica…

No wonder they organsm easily. The secret has always been taking control of your own pleasure, so yeah. But it should be more collaborative. I think the issue is that a lot of women get with men that don't respect their self-advocacy or aren't willing to adjust. I don't know what's up with that. I've never been the type that wasn't willing to take feedback and I don't know where women find these guys that just do whatever they want like it's okay.

Are you coming up high and letting it slip out when this happens or is it even when it's securely in? Cause I do this, but I'm just trying to avoid a fracture from the woman not paying attention.

There's an entire cultural expectation that being raped is part of justice for criminals. "Don't drop the soap." There is no general rape taboo in our culture. There are sensitivities to it happening to certain kinds of victims, but that doesn't even include all women. It's quite easy to sweep under the rug in a lot of cases.

Here's my two cents on it. In the language of my people, here's a wall of text. This is true in a political environment in which these tendencies genuinely reflect a difference of position on material politics that we are capable of enacting. At this point in time, at least in the United States, all these different tendencies do is provide cleavage lines for splitting, infiltrations, and petty disagreements. Especially if we're not even organizing an actual political party. I understand criticis…

I think the core of it is that a lot of them are just fundamentally opposed to a worldview which isn't about maximizing personal comfort and satisfaction. Women don’t “reward” men with anything. Anything that is difficult to acquire and deliberately denied to most is a reward. If you don't like thinking of yourself as a prize or a trophy, I understand that and I agree that people shouldn't be seen that way. But it's disingenuous to act as if sex is just some benign byproduct that happens when it happens. The foundation of sexual relationships is desire. And what women desire doesn't always have anything to do with respect. Mutual respect is a bare…

I understand that. What I'm responding in the OP is the focus on "superior genes", which is a Social Darwinist based around ideas that the traits past on from generation to generation are the best. Ideas, which if played out over the course of human existence would result in much more homogeneity of traits, better health outcomes, etc. I'm arguing against the idea that human mating is inherently Eugenicist. Emotional closeness can exist without sex, but the dynamic would become sort of familial. Casual relationships with people who enjoy your company but don't feel all that strongly either way are different from people who are genuinely concerned with you and your wellbeing.

Somehow getting my dick wet hasn't made me indifferent to double standards and inequalities across life. If anything, dealing with this stuff from the women you're closest to in life can make it worse. Sex doesn't change anything on either side of things. Do you think that being hit or raped is on the same level as a girl in high school calling you a loser? I'm not sure why you're going straight to rape when women can and are verbally belittled as well. Having your hopes of good relationship/date/prom/etc. dashed in a cruel way by people who do not care at all about the harm they do to you, in any context is going to leave a lasting mark. Empathy is free, friend.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/24 10:59 PM

Arbeit Macht Frei On a fundamental cultural level, it's naturalized for those who are not successful to suffer. If you're good enough to be happy, then you're just too lazy to get what you want. If you're not good enough, then you need to get good, and also stop being lazy. It goes for romance, goes for economics, anything.

Evolution is not a process of optimization. It's a process of what works. And what we can observe in contemporary human beings is that sexual attraction manifests in a litany of ways, many of which are either complete evolutionary dead-ends, reproduce poor physical and mental outcomes, or are just generally haphazard and unpredictable (congenital diseases that don't present in the parents, etc.). She's your girlfriend, whether or not she's explicitly thinking in these terms, her incentive in this situation is for you to be available only to her and to make sure that you have a high opinion of her. The "girls like guys hugging animal statues" is a virtue signal. Like an actual one. It signals a virtue on her part, that she isn't shallow and is attracted to things that…

Basically males assume this could be possible. Our sexuality and our general perception of people are already separated (they can affect each other, but they can also be compartmented) so, there's nothing odd about the idea. At least not where I'm standing. But, if that isn't how it works for my female partner, then I would have to think about it differently. Just because I'm wired that way doesn't mean she is. You can shame successful men. If you told someone in the 90s that it was possible to make asking someone out in person even slightly controversial, they'd think you were high. Have imagination. And I think you could actually get women to approach more, but it'd take a very heavy handed and long term messaging campaign. Not the most plausible thing, but it can be done.

It is potentially a sign of certain things, but not all of those things are negative. The only thing I'd worry about are STI's and that's a personal risk you either take or don't.

This is true. But if those women are considering their hook-ups in the same terms as their long term relationships, especially in terms of the kind of men they think they can get, then they're making a mistake. We'd all be making a mistake in that situation.

Your "league" is what you can keep. Getting cheated on or dropped after a hookup by whatever your ideal is isn't a reflection of where you stand. It's the people you can date long term, who you live with, who meets your family, who takes you seriously as a life partner. That's where you stand. Whoever takes you seriously and wants you in their life as a full human being, that's your "league".

Why do you take it so personal that strangers don't know your intentions dog? I don't take the fear personally. But I have no illusions about what generalized fear can do. I'm a Black man. It's pure subjectivity, it can't really be measured. It's more useful to speak about perceptions that about who is or isn't attractive. Whether it's true or not, if you're a guy trying to impress a woman, you're in a worse spot than a woman in a comparable position. And that's how it is. The only things that can really help you are enforced scarcity (only guy in the office situation) and even then, that just makes you noticeable, not necessarily more attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 04:48 PM

They are contradictory though. Women, in general, aren't going to have that gun or anything to protect themselves with. Then you need to go to talk to women about self defense, not policing my opinions, brother. Be cautious, but also assume that guys are not going to assault you while you sleep next to them or are alone with them and vulnerable. Like....really? Women get told "you should've taken precautions", but also get told "stop generalizing" constantly These aren't contradictory, but I'd also never blame a woman for what happens to her. How you frame rhetoric is separate from what you have to do to be safe. I have a gun in my glove compartment, cause I know there are situations I might need it. But I don't demonize every "sort of person" that could possibly be the reason for me needing that gun. I just take the precaution, without the added preju…

I am already wary of other men. I'm not objecting to the feeling, but the reality is that you're fine around most people. And if you're going to make a point of generalizing men in accordance to your fears, that's bigotry.

You can have a paternalist outlook on women without hating them. "No hitting, be charitable, be kind, treat them as if they were your own daughter. It's always women's fault men do anything. In dating? I wouldn't say always, but why wouldn't you be part of it? Women's actions have consequences. There's no imaginary perfect man that never lies and simultaneously cares what you think. It's a tradeoff You want a man that wants to make you happy? Then you want a man that will lie if that's what you want from him.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 08:47 AM

It's turn-offs all the way down. You'll get a lot farther trying to get men to be honest for their peace of mind/sense of self than for them do so on women's behalf. They will never trust this position that you're putting forth because women largely do not reward honesty, forthrightness, etc. And we see it constantly, always. If you want an honest man, you have to show and be consistent about the fact that friction in your relationship isn't a dealbreaker. You have to get a special case made for…

If women make this kind of protector role a prerequisite, it's not on men to dismantle that expectation, it's on women. The guys are just trying to be attractive. Not every woman wants that and not every man wants to be that. But it's not a conspiracy. Yes exactly! To men with that worldview, the only “logical” solution is to roll back women’s rights. Because ma…

How can she be treated as a man when she was so obviously playing a game of pretend? Because many men, maybe most, are playing a game of pretend, that's how being a man works for them and for men that feel stuck in a box her experience resonates. You're going to have to define bad men and explain what connection you're drawing here, if you want me to understand what you mean (lol). From where I'm standing, you're creating a dialectic where there isn't a relationship. Women are wary of men regardless of how much men understand them, vice versa.

Notice that the word empathy hasn't been used. Men are always trying to understand women, and that knowledge can be used in a lot of ways. Some of which are negative, some positive, and some ways that aren't consequential to women in any direction. Empathizing with women can come from understanding, it can also be lost with understanding. Depends on the guy and what he's trying to understand.

Women don't have to jump through many hurdles to justify their presence in a guy's life, at least initially. There's a low barrier to entry. Not my point. It's degrading so long as women both retain the privilege not to approach and also to reject those approach them whatever way they want. There have to be standards, rules and mutuality. So long as approaching women has this level of baggage, then it will be a humiliation ritual for most men that do it. Cause most women don't like most men, and many of them are quite cruel about how they make that understood. When it doesn't work out, it's a kind of hazing. If practices change, then…

As a fellow human being in this world we share, I have a right to criticize the dysfunctional behavior of any person that I please. She will do what she wants. And I will criticize it at my leisure. Cause that's just... that's just not right. Especially if those are biological kids.

Considering how many women consider men to be easy for being interested in them, it's implicitly degrading, depending on the woman you're speaking to. Surrendering yourself to the judgment and likely mistreatment of another person because you're attracted to them, it puts you at a social disadvantage.

He's saying the opposite of that. The part that makes the woman settling downward so bad in this line of thinking is the difference in treatment that their partner gets from them, not that there are other people more attractive in their eyes. Men do not expect women to only have eyes for them. Being with someone and giving them your best is not settling even if you think other people may be more attractive than them. What's "settling" is when you partner with someone out of convenience and phone…

It's easier to just accept that then fight it. I'm not fighting anything. I have a hard time giving grace to any human being that cannot articulate their own experience. It's what language is for. If you can't tell me about what is going on within your own mind, your heart, then what the hell can you tell me about? That's how I think about this. And that makes it very hard to respect any position that boils down to consummate ignorance. "I don't know, you don't need to know, nothing is gained fr…

Women not cultivating mindsets that harm their ability to be open to healthy relationships with men. People say men watch too much porn to have healthy sex lives, it's the same principle. If everything you expose yourself builds prejudice against men (not just bigotry but also hyperselectivity) then that's on you. I don't think it would either. Not necessarily. It's just that women are largely living a markedly different experience in life, so they're even less help. It's more that being around men, plural, helps. The more comfortable you are around other men, the better you'll get a feel for what the do's and don'ts are. And you can't get that if you're only comfortable around women and only talk to them.

In an environment where wanting serious relationships are punished, it's bad for the people that want them. Modern dating is pretty much noncommittal and/or spontaneous, in my experience. The girls/women don't know how to bond with anyone that isn't another woman, want sex sporadically on a whim, and generally make a mess of things. If you're a guy that wants anything more structured and formal than that, you're fighting the tide.

Not much to debate here. Your post is right. The idea quoted in the title is a false dichotomy. A lot of people have this tendency to split an issue to create a binary point. Maybe it's a cultural thing (Manichaean worldviews), maybe it just sounds more poetic that way. But you're right that both are dealing with external and internal pressures. I think women tend to understand rejection as simply not being wanted by a particular person. It's a benign thing that everybody goes through and shouldn't think much of. They don't understand how much cruelty and rudeness and general dismissiveness is entailed in rejection for men. A lot of the time, approaching is just an invitation to be humiliat…

It's kind of the age that makes or breaks your patterns in life I'd say. Sure, things might get better later on, but there's social consequences for young people that, to be blunt, don't know how to be young. These are supposed to be the people who are making the next generation, marrying, graduating, starting careers, but instead they're dropping out, not getting laid, have no aim in life. This is fodder for sensationalizing through media and pop studies, and also a real existential problem.

You do realize everything in society doesn't have an accompanying study to go with them right? If your prerequisite to discussing anything in life is dependent on journal articles, you're never going to talk about anything important until you're years past its relevance.

"Oh, you're here to meet new people too?" Actually not that bad as an icebreaker. If she's worth talking to, the meta-conversation is probably a good way to start things off. If she's capable of being conscious of what you're both doing as awkward lonely people in a public place, she's probably sharp. /r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 03:56 PM

The thing about pressure is that it comes with a consequence. Just because people want you to do things that you don't want to do doesn't mean you're under pressure. There has to be a cost to you. Most women, don't want any of the men that espouse these ideas in the first place. The greatest issue that it makes for you is your peace of mind.

Meanspirited women are everywhere, so of course women walk around insulting men. For some it's part of how they people watch. Making fun of people you don't care about is a minor pastime. It's not true. End thread. Modern dating has a number of underlying conceits that allow people to swallow a very cutthroat and chaotic process that enables a whole lot more misery than it prevents. Acting as if prison abolition is a universal tenet of feminism is overblown. TERFS are not Angela Davis and they don't give two shits about prison reform unless it involves forcing transwomen to go to a men's prison. And on it goes. Women weaponizing legal systems and law enforcement against men should not be a foreign concept to you. And whether or not it's true or not, feminists claim to represent women. So there's gender-based baggage around the concept of women accusing men of things they di…

Technically all parties of a case do have a right to perform their own cross examinations in the same way they technically have the right to represent themselves. It's considered poor form and the judge will probably hold it against you, but it can happen.

If they're not in the top 20% looks-wise, nothing else means anything and even love is basically worthless. I think the men here are grappling with a sort of fundamental insecurity that comes with being a man. I don't think it's in a healthy way and they tend to articulate it in very vulgar terms, but I get why they fixate on the mythical man that can get damn near any woman. As men, in this time period especially, if we don't get everything right in romance very early on or get quite lucky we w…

I... I disagree. This is one of those things where people reflexively both-sides the point because it feels fair. I don't see men assuming women's priorities are their own like I see women do. I see men warp women's priorities, I even see them make them up from scratch, but never assume they're the same. This is a woman thing through and through. And I don't mean that in a meanspirited way.

If I called a man as "marriage material" that means i find him so physically attractive that i want to be with him and want him forever. why is that supposedly a bad thing? Do men want to be uhh "pumped and dumped" or smth instead? Most men's primary anxiety about marriage is being used by a woman for stability while not actually being desired. It's not that men want to be used for sex, it's that sex (early and passionate) is the only sign of desire that can be believed. Accepting a marriage pro…

I don't think it's that hard to just say "I'm not attracted to you". It's neutral and can still be polite. It's not hard at all. But I think the issue with a lot of girls/women/etc. is that that neutral "I just don't like you like that message" isn't true to their feelings. A lot of women process their lack of attraction through disgust and offense and so their feelings on the subject are a lot closer to "Get the fuck away from me, gross!" than it is to just acknowledging a lack of chemistry. An…

You're taking that truism very literally. It's conveying an idea about women that men will generally find to be true, not 100% of the time, just enough to take the gist of it to heart; that above all else you have to be stimulating to keep a woman around. That doesn't mean abusers have a free ride or that women are being put down. It's just that's the way things go is that you will last longer as an interesting train wreck than as put-together and boring.

I think that's why it's important to vet what kind of person you're building a life with. There's a difference between a woman who leaves because you gained 100 pounds and became an alcoholic and a woman who leaves because you're not rich enough to bankroll her dreams. Reasonable women exist. And not every woman's desires are that hard to meet. You'll just never know for sure.

And some men would do well to remember divorce courts are filled with men who thought they had happy marriages. There's a medium between being so full of self-loathing that you can't believe a woman wants you, and being naive enough not to silently question a big mismatch of looks. People second-guess their long term decisions, that's life. And sometimes you're the long term decision that gets a second guess. I don't think there is one. Your particular relationship will have its own dynamics, but there is no universal thing that men can give and take away at leisure to get what they want. Everything men offer can and likely will be denied by most women. Everything men offer won't necessarily get most women to stay. And honestly, I think even your example of sex is slightly overblown. Sex is important to men, but if it was this important, no man would ever break up with a woman, there'd be no relation…

A few individual men are not an equivalent to a culture of millions of people who think being shorter than 5'7 makes you equivalent to being ugly as sin. It's not. /r/PurplePillDebate12/08/24 11:35 AM

It's not the same dynamic. Men tend to look for partners who are desirable both socially and physically for long term relationships. You're trying to prove a contradiction on something that men aren't claiming. You're looking for hypocrisy in an argument that starts with an assumption of fundamental differences between you and them. The answer to your question would likely be a no for most men, and that has no baring in their minds on how women are attracted to men for different reasons.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/24 11:34 AM

I would be more interested in seeing the 20-39 year old's stats. Below 30 it's about 66% single. I don't remember the below 40 stats well enough to quote it.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/24 11:29 AM

Why would men extend that understanding when in their experience women's preferences are more rigid and exclusive than their own. There is no male equivalent to the heigh requirements. It doesn't matter whether every woman has it or not, for those that have it, it's practical disqualifier for anyone that has that trait. Men, far more than women, make exceptions. Just because you feel like you do that as an individual doesn't change the general culture we live in where that is not the case.

I dont know where you got the idea that men care about what other men think... They project their social dynamics onto us because they think it's part of the general human experience, not something that's predominantly done by women. /r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 06:47 PM

The person who responded to me is not the person I asked. And I didn't ignore what they said. They drew an equivalence between men attracted to their female friends to opportunists. If you choose to see people that value you and want you in their life like they're pests, then that's more of a reflection of how you see them than how they see you. Men are not at liberty to complain about anything women do to them, especially not something about sexual satisfaction. When men aren't happy with the sex they have or get, they are called entitled. Yet somehow because you're not getting off, it's a matter of justice? It's hypocritical. Me, personally? I think it's worthwhile to talk about and women do need their needs met. It's a correction of a thing they're doing. And they will react like it's criticism. It's to the point that I don't even like foreplay on my end that much. Cause it's a minefield. I'd rather just focus on them so they can feel good about themselves and we can just do other things.

I'm saying that if I were to answer from experience, I would say absolutely. But I'm just a reflection of myself, and at most the current dating environment. Women are scarce, and if you're the type to take no for an answer, the only time sex happens is when the rare woman shows up that wants sex. I don't think data would reflect this experience, I don't think it's anything that'd have good data regardless.

The same way I did - learning about anatomy and applying intuition. Seems like the root to a lot dating problems have to do with selecting the best partner to have children with. I think any idea that revolves around "picking the best mate" is more of a eugenicist euphemism than a genuine thought people have. No, because it only protects from men that already respect boundaries. It's always a good excuse to blame the sex pests and predators, but women would still be like this if they were completely safe. They just don't like men. When women like men, they take risks, they get closer to the dangerous men when they like them. It's not a protective measure, it's an exclusionary measure.

The foundation of society is not in individual people spontaneously deciding to do the right thing. People generally respond to what they're taught and what they see work. If what they're taught fails them, they look for alternatives. You can think what you want, but it won't change that. What would change it is a change in culture that has to start with women, because women don't listen to men.
