Not speaking in absolutes at all. I said “many.” I know sexist men are in long term relationships bc sexism is ingrained in our society, it’s in the air we breathe. But I do think a lot of these men with clear pent up anger, resentment, and disrespect toward women fare poorly overall in the dating scene compared to men with empathy and respect for women.

I think we know misogynistic men who for one night can hide their off-putting behavior and values behind excess alcohol and finesse a woman into bed. I doubt many of these men have ever gotten a woman to come back for more, especially since their worldview likely means they’re also selfish in bed.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/22 05:04 PM

And I’ll put something even more simply: Men who see women as full people, sexual, intellectual, driven, creative people: good for sex and serious dating. Gross, misogynistic asshole men: good for nothing. Good thing is y’all usually wear your baggage all over your face so you’re easy to avoid.

Weird how the consent part is what turns RP men off. Women who like casual sex are devalued, but coercing women into it is perfectly fine. Y’all are so creepy

Sure, I think the advice to not open an OF account stands. I am just saying I think we need to be careful about how we talk about young girls, many who are barely adults, who fall prey to the industry. I think it’s unfair to say they “willingly” put themselves in harm’s way. Seems victim blamey. Yes we should educate young girls to stay away from predatory things like OF, but until we’ve expanded opportunities for women and changed the system that thrives off of their sexualizatiom and brutaliza…

Why is this worded like women are bringing harm on themselves? We’ve established that wages are so low, people become desperate. I think we all understand it’s the patriarchal system and ideology we live in that is putting these girls in harm’s way, not their individual choices. Saying they’re “willing” ignores the context that you can’t really make a choice if you don’t have options.

This is one the lurkers will pass right on by, because it doesn’t serve their confirmation bias. What, high value doesn’t have to mean high earning? Expensive gifts? High value is something any man could achieve if he possessed the will to do so? This will go right over them.

Same. My mother has packed my dad’s lunch for 40 years. She worked 40 hours while making every meal and managing the majority of raising me and my sister. On the flip side my father also worked hard, usually 7 days a week, to provide the life my mom wanted and put me through school. He also hunts and fishes and literally brings home the bacon. It can work if there’s true division of labor, and if each person’s contributions are appreciated and valued by the other. But men just hate women now, it…

I mean, didn’t a lot of us grow up with that? Mothers who were a part of the workforce and also managed all of the household and childcare responsibilities? We’re busy trying to change the lives of women, balance the domestic labor, and get paid what we deserve— they’re trying to hold us in our place. Tale as old as time

I’ll be honest, I don’t want to click that link. That is next level sociopath behavior right there. Raping is one atrocious, depraved act — recruiting and training rapists? He needs to be 1) locked up and 2) made to explore his disgusting, dark mind and find out why he has so much hate for people (bc that’s what women are in case he forgot). If nothing else, his insight can help us profile and ultimately imprison more rapists.

Met a white supremacist myself. Date lasted 20 minutes, tops. We got our drinks, he asked me immediately about my politics. When I said “in short, I’m a feminist,” he went on a tangent about how we have only white men to thank for modern civilization, and that if white men didn’t show up to work every day our society would crumble. I waited until he was done and then said, well you can fuck off. Turned on one heel and found a different table.

I have a friend right now in a relationship with a 43 year old. She's 25! They've been on again off again for going on 4 years. He opened his first bank account when he was 40. He is constantly moving from his own place to his mother's and back again because his job as a bartender is so unstable. The last time she broke up with him, she put it so aptly: "I can't give anymore time to an emotionally unavailable alcoholic who only shows he cares about me when I try to leave." AND THEN SHE WENT BACK…

This happened to me too! Dude walked up to me and my friends (all 27-28) and started hitting on us. He guessed us at 21 and we all laughed and I told him our real ages — and he also turned on his heel and bailed. We were like byeee we don’t want your creepy loser ass anyway.

Another part of this is being the one to "fix" any relationship issue. After a fight, who's drafting up paragraphs of texts to make everything right? Who's looking at next steps to ensure everyone is coming away from the situation with a new perspective and a solution? Even more, who's making the changes after an argument? If it's always you doing this, you're also people pleasing and need to look after yourself first. I am so guilty of this in my relationships, it ain't even funny.

1) Yes, do both of you a favor and break this off. 2) Your next relationship should be with a therapist. You need to address the alcoholism and PTSD in a healthy way before you’re going to be ready for a relationship. Not saying everything needs to be fixed for you to find a partner, but you have to make those steps for yourself, otherwise you’ll find yourself relying on your partner to make you feel better, and that’s not fair for either of you. 3) No matter what you do, talk kinder about yours…

I was at my boyfriend’s MEMORIAL (public venue, so others were there), taking a picture with HIS MOTHER, and some motherfucker comes up and grabs my ass. I shoved him and he said I “didn’t have to be such a bitch.” I said “you have no idea how many people here will gladly beat your ass right now, you best leave.” And he did.

I’m curious how you make sure your soap stays specifically on your vulva. If soap gets anywhere near that area, for me, I am guaranteed a yeast infection.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/04/20 09:20 PM

Your intimate parts have healthy bacteria as well that are harmed by some soaps. This is primarily to debunk the idea that products like Summer’s Eve are necessary to maintain proper hygiene. The key is to avoid scented soaps and gels. By all means, do what works for you. Warm water works best for me, and I’ve also had no problems with odor or infection. By the way you’re coming in these comments HOT. Easy there 😛

99% of abortions are done before 13 weeks (not in the timeline for D&E or D&C), which is why I said the majority of abortions are NBD. Not invalidating anyone’s bad experiences, just saying they’re not the norm and shouldn’t be used as a reason to stigmatize abortion or limit access to abortion.

Just to clarify though, abortion, when done early, is actually a very simple procedure and is 14x safer than childbirth. I would by no means call it demanding or grueling. You could get one on your lunch break and return to work without a problem. Source: I work for Planned Parenthood. Now if we’re talking D&E or D&C, those may be a little harder on someone. But the majority of abortions are NBD.

Women are taught from an early age to anticipate needs and execute a plan to meet them. This doesn’t surprise me at all. Of course men get to skate by — they’ve never been asked to accommodate, why would they think to?

long comment warning I think the thing we’re all saying here is that there very well may be individual women who choose to do porn (over other options) because they enjoy it, profit off of it, and see some kind of overall personal benefit. BUT (and this is a big but) their experience and enjoyment does not exist in a vacuum— it is still set in an overall patriarchal context in which women are exploited, brutalized, and abused for the pleasure of men. So any benefit these individual women may per…

I understand your point. And I disagree with the idea that "porn is porn is porn." The main problem with porn is its commercialization, exploitation of women and children, and enforcement of patriarchal, racist, sexist, transphobic ideas. But anyone can make porn that exists outside of that framework - you're just not gonna find it on PornHub. I think it's hard to have a nuanced conversation about porn here, because on the whole, porn has had a detrimental effect on women and has eroded relation…

Recently dealt with this. Guy made no effort in his appearance for our date, acted impressed/surprised that I’m well read, and couldn’t follow along with a subtitled movie.
