Yep. Most dating coaches speak thru a white lens and fail to acknowledge it. Little discussion has been dedicated to intersectionality and I think it’s time.

Because it’s a catch-22; beautiful women know men approach them because they’re beautiful, which lowers their interest in the men. Men have to override this reasoning with something else, which is like asking a fish to not intake water. Anxiety ensues.

Hey that’s cool that she texted and did not ghost. Points for humanity. But it sounds like you’re intuitive and on the right track. Keep dating and learning along the way.

Not very often that I see a woman from a distance and approach. Usually they’re next to me and when I see them I say something top of mind. There have been times when I see a woman ahead of me and I approach her. But for the most part it’s spontaneous due to close proximity.

I went to the merch table and bought a vinyl record. I think that’s the area where I crossed paths with her. She then invited me to sit down with her at the bar. We’ve been on two dates since.

Hotel bar (two women invited me to another hotel bar), rooftop bar (woman asked me out to coffee), bar where I had to pay $10 to watch a band play (woman asked what I was doing next and I invited her to another bar), sidewalk outside of bar next to small club venue (invited me to after hours spot), whisky bar (went back to my place), private club bar (planning drinks). So bars it seems. All within the last few months.

40s here, LA. Apps have gotten harder (though I don’t make an effort with professional photos), but in person way easier. It usually begins with me initiating, then they suggest the next spot - becoming more common (and I tend to go out alone to meet women). They’re 20s - 40s. If I were to analyze improvement, I’d say it’s due to having female friends, leadership positions at work and volunteer, and good health - all factor in with how I carry myself these days.

I take it you haven’t experienced what it’s like when a woman doesn’t respect your boundaries. It’s a terrible feeling. The dehumanizing you’re applying to them now by making them a bad girl fantasy will turn back on you. But I suppose experiencing ego deaths is how one matures.

I actually found older women more attractive the older I got. I didn’t expect that. The best way I can describe it is that it’s like the personality of the woman shapes how her body evolves, and the curves of her body bring to light her personal strengths.
/r/seduction04/04/26 10:03 PM

This is a good point. Much of the seduction subreddit understandably focuses on approach by younger people, whereas older people operate within a different framework. Expectations are different, and so is risk tolerance as personal/professional responsibilities increase. In the same breath, the experimentation we once leaned into becomes more selective as we better understand what works for us and what doesn’t. What we used to see as potential opportunities, we now recognize as non-opportunities…

/r/seduction18/03/26 08:57 PM

Yeah, I agree. I tend to view things through the lens of owner and laborer. Just be yourself can sound empowering, but can also function as a core value within a system that gives the impression of control while subtly reinforcing a laborer role.

Eh. Confidence is a modern commercial term. People sold books and classes about obtaining it. There’s more nuance to it that explores one’s relationship with authority and status.

Interesting. I like the practicality of it. I have extra towels and packaged toothbrushes, as I want to be a good host. Same with having a decently stocked kitchen with organic foods in case we want to snack on something healthy.

Are bad boys really bad? Are nice guys really nice? It depends on how much of their behavior is a coping mechanism. That is what women are tuning into. As a culture, men have focused on the surface contrast of bad versus nice in seduction, which misreads the whole dynamic.

You’re still not listening to him. You’re placing your framework onto his. Maybe there are gaps in the current philosophy of approach, and maybe we should recognize that they exist and perhaps try to evolve it. We’re quick to shut guys down if their frameworks don’t match ours.

From my experience, ability to afford transportation costs (road and flights; preferably business class) and dinners, would be the minimum - and this wouldn’t necessarily apply to physical attraction, but those also with high level jobs, like CEO. One woman wanted me to pay for her childcare for the night, so she could be fully present with intention. I’d say 150k, if being conservative.

Upon my last visit two years ago, Syria (Damascus) is much more liberal than represented in media; ie, women wearing strap tops. Also less rigid structures, foreigners can share a dance floor with the locals (unlike, say, Egypt, where from my experience staff made it clear that there are boundaries). Damascus’ independence felt culturally ingrained, whereas places like Dubai and Doha allow freedom of expression, but still appear to remain fundamentally conservative to me. Could be because Damasc…

Great question. I think understanding frameworks from the past help us understand and navigate current frameworks. Historically, marriages were arranged for wealth, status, and survival. Men were expected to marry for resource allocation, duty, and heirs, while physical attraction often played out elsewhere through mistresses, affairs, or later marriages. Attraction mattered, but it was kept separate from marriage itself. As society became more stable and women gained economic independence, marr…

I thought this post was going to be more meta as it relates to cockblocking, because I do wonder if a small percentage of men want to influence what other men think, so they can control them and have the majority of women to themselves. Almost like wealth accumulating at the top in late-stage capitalism.

Sydney was pretty cool. Girls came up to talk to me a couple times the one night I was there. I get the sense Wales might be the same. Fiji perhaps or other island hopping spots with tourists. Amsterdam, maybe - others would need to weigh in. Would be cool to be in a European country and catch a train or flight to other countries for a few months.

If she has focus and is meaningful, and you’re not being ambiguous or coercive with your intentions, sure. Society will send 18 year olds to war, but can infantilize them when it comes to sex, especially Reddit, to confirm risk frameworks. It depends how comfortable you are separating personal truth from cultural utility.

Dance classes. Improv classes. Gym and diet. Move to a city with options. Dance at bars or after hours, even if by yourself - get really comfortable with it. Make friends. Host people back at your place. Have a clean restroom. Maybe train and get a part time job as a bartender. Traveling is OK, but do it for personal growth, not for seeking out sex. Might up your odds a bit if you meet other travelers who are traveling for escapism, but still requires game that you can learn back home.

My thesis is that culturally in Western society, non-monogamy is slowly becoming more normalized (as opposed to cheating in secret, which has always been wider spread than we think). It’s not so much girls are crazy in this context.

Maybe for two minutes after post nut clarity, but then afterwards the fun returns. It’s knowing the two minutes are going to happen and using that time to express appreciation towards one’s partner, which doesn’t necessarily have to be vocally - just being present with them rather than concerned about one’s own self is enough.

A larger social apparatus is controlling you, keeping you in place. It dangles promises of what you can obtain, but they’re just a carrot on a string, meant to keep you from advancing and seizing the power others hold. You may not realize it, but your frustration is with the carrot for not delivering. Turn your focus to the apparatus holding the string and reclaim your power.

Pure speculation on my part, but this may have been happening for a while - scaled greater in recent years due to dating apps and social media/dms - dating apps in particular where women are competing for a small pool of men; ie the top 10% of desirable men.

I like your thinking. If cold approaches don’t work for many men, then we should listen and help them find other methods that do. Maybe it’s the model that’s outdated -that could be the real issue, not the men. Here’s one solution I recommend: Go to a local bar. Ask to host a singles night. Nerd it up, make it board game based. Religion is definitely one. So are family traditions, economic control, media and cultural promotion of ideals, education (limited sex ed), legal restrictions (reproductive rights, marriage, orientation), patriarchy, and race, each shaping how we’re told to behave and desire. I agree. It’s going to be amazing. In an augmented reality, women who are open to being approached will show green light indicators, along with profile information visible through the interface, so others can know a little about them in advance. This is if one chooses to not let AI be Cupid and facilitate the match and introduction on the street. The dynamics of approach are going to change.

I actually think things are changing. It’s not going to go back to the way older seducers found it successful for them. The new seducers will find ways to make it work in the new ways. If it’s online, gaming, augmented reality, digital twin, whatever…it’s going to work for them and old seducers will be confused and say it’s whining. Let go old men. Stop trying to control.

It’s complicated. Life can throw curveballs; health, finances, events. One could also gain more responsibilities, rarely talked about in this sub, which 1) means reputation matters more, and 2) leads to juggling several spinning plates (as in responsibilities where one is accountable, not multiple partners), making the individual more careful and conservative in their decisions. How confidence plays in all this? Well…one can become more resilient.

I think loss aversion and scarcity are still closer to the surface level, and we need to explore deeper roots: the whys and hows of systems and power structures that cause individuals to default to submission, which then leads to loss aversion and scarcity. Ironically, defining a linear value system for individuals to strive for instills submission. That contradiction is where people struggle. Hot take: the concept of high value is what slows individuals’ progress, as it derives from a very spec…

I’m not against AI, especially for Reddit. It cuts through all the rhetoric. In fact, here’s its response: This post makes some valid points about attraction dynamics, but it leans heavily on an oversimplified view of what draws women to men. Here’s a breakdown of what works and what’s flawed: What Works: 1. Emotional Impact Matters – It’s true that attraction often comes from emotional stimulation rather than pure comfort. People generally remember experiences that evoke strong feelings. 2. Pas…

I’ve been to Dubai, and I do believe there’s an unspoken caste system due to the color of your skin. I didn’t get into a club once for this reason, I believe. But I’m successful professionally, so the next time I reached out to a club manager on social media, told him what I did for work and got in VIP. I’m not from Dubai, but I suspect reaching out and developing a network there could help (regardless of work, just look out for one another).

I can offer a suggestion as it relates to approaching. Your instincts are correct, power structures and intersectionality are at play. That said, women also face systemic barriers and may connect with you through this shared experience. Simply approaching a woman and admitting you’re nervous but wanted to say hello acknowledges this common ground. It shows awareness of these dynamics and a willingness to navigate them with humanity, which can also help ease the pressure on you.

I respectfully disagree, especially as technology advances and streamlines communication further. As an aside, the near-futurist in me believes that attractiveness will stem from how individuals adapt to the pace of new technology as it streamlines our lives. Waiting for people to respond to texts will be seen as something old people did back in the day. This doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll be available to respond all the time, but we will acknowledge receipts under new paradigms of communication…

Being nice is misunderstood. Usually it’s defined in seduction as a coping mechanism, which can be detected by potential partners. This is true, but that’s on one end of the spectrum. Media in the 90s was portrayed through a white, patriarchal, boomer lens, which minimized diversity of experiences in favor of conformity, allowing those with power and resources to retain them. However, in recent years, this has been challenged, promoting diversity in self-expression and prioritizing humanization over objectification in how we approach others we’re interested in.

I don’t know. I think the concern is valid for individuals in executive or leadership rolls or have public personas. Depends on the environment. I’m not a chad, but I can travel the world and blend in pretty much everywhere because of my tan skin, dark hair, and medium frame. Anyway, at what point in time are we analyzing the future of humankind? There will be a benchmark where any given person can be multiple genders at the same time.

Trans or not, same message applies. The film could be an allegory on masculinity and how it’s a made up word for men to control the behaviors of other men.

To be honest… masculinity, alpha: just words to me. Boggles my mind how important they are to people.

I mean, therapy is cool. I recommend that. Outside of that, I recommend studying money and finance. Maybe some years from now you can be an Angel investor to your community or companies online. Also travel abroad, maybe take courses at a monastery in Nepal to learn meditation. VR is also great new technology to explore. Also, if you’re concerned about height, I recommend Salsa dancing and taking lessons. Showing skill can really level the playing field for you.

This is arbitrary. For example, I don’t consider The Rock alpha. He’s an entertainer who requires other people’s attention to survive. And the Terminator has been defeated by more women than alpha scripted men (shout out to women, heyyy). It’s all arbitrary and our own worldview. Live by your own, not how others want to provide a template for.
/r/ExRedPill22/08/21 05:26 AM

Alpha can just be numerical. First place is alpha, second is beta, third is theta, etc. We’re not first in everything, so we should be careful of overusing the application of the term.
/r/ExRedPill22/08/21 05:20 AM

Interesting. I was thinking alpha is a specific role for a specific circumstance. We’re not alpha all of the time.
/r/ExRedPill22/08/21 05:18 AM

Or really insecure. We’ve all seen it. Tough guy becomes emotional and unstable when we go against his expectations. Almost like being an alpha is a curse. It’s great for periods of time, but like money, it can mess with your head if leveraging it for too long.
/r/ExRedPill22/08/21 05:17 AM
2

At the end of the day, no. In fact, this may just be your own worldview that you’re interpreting for everyone else. And that’s cool. We all do it, then realize we’re staring at shadows on a wall and see reality is not what it seems, then we can begin asking the real questions, like what else am I seeing that someone else is making me think I see.
/r/ExRedPill22/08/21 05:14 AM

Dude, alpha is just a made up word to form a hierarchy among men, so they can be able to identify and track one another. Same with the term masculinity. It’s how men with greater resources control men with less, so that they can feel secure about their position and their ability to find and maintain partners. It’s how words like red pill, manosphere, and hypergamy are formed in the YouTube-verse. Don’t give a shit about this matrix and just be true to yourself.

One woman told me, “f* my mouth” when we were having sex. I was confused at the time, but looking back she was so sexy for being confident and expressive in her sexuality. And she was a child therapist, too, which in my limited worldview then, was unexpected.

Talk to a therapist. And I don't mean that condescendingly. You've been through trauma surviving cancer, and you probably utilized the same coping mechanisms from childhood that don't serve in other aspects of your life. That's fine, you're young. Amazing time to wrangle your algorithm now while you have your whole life in front of you. Really, a lot of older guys would be jealous because you can do something about your position so early in your life. Good luck.
/r/seduction19/03/21 06:19 AM
2

For starters, you use the word "now" a lot, as if you're trying to frame and control the dialogue. Stop it. It's a coping mechanism. Let it go. Talk to girls without controlling the situation. Then see what happens.

/r/seduction19/03/21 05:54 AM

Today? It was like that 25 years ago, too. I think there needs to be more emphasis on sex education; not a 2 hour course about condom usage, but whole semesters about sexuality - this will help strengthen communication and promote dialogue about desire, which will find its place in parenting discourse at home.

The PUA industry is about one group of men controlling another group of men by finessing them on the idea that they too can get lots of women. This builds a consumer force for the men in control that puts money in their pocket, increases Instagram followers, and leads to higher SMV and more sex. I suppose women can use the formula to teach other women cuckolding, but it doesn’t necessarily build upon itself for the woman in control to achieve more cuckolding the way the man in control achieves m…

I don’t think this reflects reality; the events are too orderly and there’s an over reliance of happenstance, which oddly are all happening during quarantine. I get what the writer is saying, but the presentation feels selective and manicured. The reality is, like everything else, sometimes the approach works and sometimes it doesn’t. We’ve got to be careful with trying to oversell a narrative that it ends up becoming virtual world building.

I don’t think empathy is a losing strategy unless someone makes it a strategy. I wouldn’t fault anyone who resists empathy from a giver if it’s innately sensed as being a coping mechanism for validation seeking.

Depends on the hot asshole men, but the typical hot men among my circle who are also assholes limit themselves severely because they’re seeking or controlling others to reinforce beliefs that are not trending; ex, doubling down on being an artist and receiving validation for it rather than listening to a friend with applicable financial advice. There are also hot guys who are not assholes and are good leaders and manage responsibilities and energy accordingly.

I agree. We learn about masculinity through recordings, whether through podcasts, YouTube, Reddit, streaming services, internet, written form. It’s just us and recordings. Us. And recordings. We need to look around at our closest mentors (not paid coaches), aside from work or universities where interactions have to follow institutional laws, and engage. This is a viable idea, very next gen (as one example of direct to consumer, bartenders become more empowered to develop their own brand and delivery services). I hear ya on the bar/restaurant taxes; I’m certain a return on investment will be a while, but I’m cool with that. Interesting. I wouldn’t say it’s not going to happen in 3 years, but I think it would apply more to the commercial sector than government (That doesn’t mean the government wouldn’t leverage the sector’s user data). Like people putting their everyday life story and information on social media, users are going to want to do it without ever having to be told to. Of course, we can spin it that it becomes so common place in the commercial sector that we readily accept it when the government eventuall…

Yeah, I myself find it a challenge to see through the lens of another person based on my own experiences and perspectives, which I hold onto dearly. I can only listen at this point and see where the science and data goes, but at the same time be sensitive to another’s belief system. It’s like that line in South Park about Kyle trying to understand what Token goes through as a black child; “I finally get it: I don’t get it.”

Spectrum meaning beyond binary gender preferences. Stigma, well, that’s a big one to elaborate, but ultimately helping individuals feel comfortable about their unique sexual preferences and life styles while contributing to and interacting positively with evolving social norms.

I’m going to go against the grain of many of these comments. I believe efforts to protect one’s identity and personal history online will increase, leading to privacy laws similar to the ones in countries like Germany. I remember reading China has implemented “SCS”, not sure what’s become of it, and it’s an episode of Black Mirror. The Upload series on Amazon kind of uses it when it ranks your date on dating apps. I can see the latter being the case, then the former near term. The former won’t be implemented by the government, rather by app creators and accepted by the populace if it ever comes into existence.
