Low self esteem/not enough self love. Your friends are comfortable, you're completely your natural self around them. You know they've accepted you for who you are

Around new people you don't have that acceptance yet. You (whether you know it or not) are concerned with their approval and validation. Most people have a fear of rejection, and that doesn't mean just romantically (IE being socially rejected as a whole).

Caring less about what other people think isn't some easy fix either! Figuring out how to love yourself is something a lot of people never manage to do.

Because you care what strangers think of you. Stop that. Who cares. There are more strangers to meet if those you feel shy around are not cutting it

I would honestly take to the time to work this through with a therapist. 10/10, you'll receive better feedback than from a user group or youtube channel.
