If you can’t keep your word, it’s a “no” from meThis is good advice. I am a few weeks into one of the best relationships I’ve had in 3 years of being single. His communication skills are beyond any man I’ve ever dated. He does what he says and has shown me utmost kindness and respect. Yet because of all the sorry ass dudes I put up with for the last 3 years, I am filled with anxiety because I’m constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. Waiting for him to cancel plans, be late with no heads up, back away due to emotional immaturity, or go… | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 19/10/20 01:04 PM
There are no words for how angry this makes me. I also reported him a few months ago when he showed up my my feed.Yeah, I’ve seen that several times on Tinder and always report those. It may not do any good to report, but damn if I’m gonna just let it slide. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 29/05/20 10:39 PM
Emily Gilmore, the original FDS leader 😉My mom had the “no honk” rule, which at the time annoyed me a little as I was just happy to have a guy take me out. Now that I’m older, I truly appreciate this as a lesson in basic manners. Even outside the dating context, I consider honking the horn to summon someone to be extremely rude in most cases. I used to live next door to a woman who sat in the car every morning honking the horn waiting for her kids to come out for the drive to school. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 30/04/20 09:00 PM
Weekly FDS Chat, Check-In, Quick Questions Answered (Feb. 5th 2020)Wild week here. Matched with a guy last Friday whose pics looked kinda cute. Conversations via text proved him to be smart and respectful. Lots of boxes checked. Set a date for Wednesday and I asked for a phone call Tuesday. His voice was very off-putting but I figured his personality might make up for it. He showed up and...ugh. Photos were obviously older and angles selected to mask unattractive facial features. But omg. His teeth. They were awful. Obvious lack of dental care and smoking damag… | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 08/02/20 04:22 PM
Before you say yesSanity saved with KitKat :) Yeah, sometimes people don’t feel it coming or understand the feeling. I kept snacks at the house but he didn’t like to eat a snack close to mealtime because he didn’t want to ruin his appetite and “if we’d eaten when we were supposed to this wouldn’t have happened”. Ugh. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 25/01/20 03:20 PM
Before you say yesI would also add, “See him hungry.” Aside from all of the other stuff in the quote (which was definitely present and I chose to ignore/tolerate for way too long), the hunger thing was one of the worst with my ex. Normal people who know of their sensitivity will keep snacks on hand or step up their game and offer to help with meals. My entitled ex was demanding about regular mealtimes and berated me when the timing was shifted at all due to busy lives. Dated a guy last summer for a brief time and… | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 25/01/20 02:01 PM
Does height really matter? Can a short man be a HVM?I’m almost 6’ which is obviously not common for females. I’ve always been self-conscious about my height, and prefer to date guys who are no more than 1-2” shorter, though taller is always better for me. What I cannot understand for the life of me is the men who lie about their height in their OLD profiles. I’m very upfront about my own height so that a guy knows what he’s getting (and hopefully weed out the dudes with a complex). I’d say easily 50% are shorter than their listed height. Last guy… | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 20/01/20 02:05 PM
Ok seriously where do I find educated successful menI hear you, sister. It’s been a difficult 2 years being single and I’m tired of being frustrated. So I took a hard look at my approach and am making tweaks to try to turn things around. Here’s my 2 cents. I’m astute enough to know that while I’m not a head-turning Classic beauty, I think I’m reasonably attractive. So in OLD I’m not getting the matches I think I deserve. Once I have a conversation with someone in person, I seem to surprise guys with my personality and other positive attributes on… | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 20/01/20 01:48 PM

Sticking to my goals 🤛🏻Going through a divorce, even though it was my choice, really led me to doubt myself and whether I could successfully reinvent myself as a 40-something. Fell into a lot of my 20-something self destructive behaviors for a while even though I was making progress in general. I think I simply got tired of hearing myself talk about repeating same old bullshit behaviors and enduring the (not surprising) outcomes. Finally decided I deserve better than that. I hope you will find that, too! Thinking and … | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 17/01/20 06:20 PM
This is why I always speak over the phone before a date.I’ve had a couple phone calls that quickly weeded out guys with some HUGE red flags that likely wouldn’t have come up in texting or at least until meeting. First dude had serious anger issues and let on that he had some sort of lawsuit going on with a former employer. Quick truthfinder search revealed lots of flags. NOPE. Second one dropped some not-so-subtle racist remarks when speaking about coworkers. Also had anger issues. Also lived in his parents’ basement. NOPE. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 17/01/20 02:30 PM
What do you typically look for in a FWB?Thanks for posting this; I appreciate the feedback that has been put here. I got really frustrated trying to find a decent guy for a relationship and entered into a casual thing with a guy a few weeks ago. He was upfront about his situation and the fact that he wants to enjoy single life due to the emotional toll of his marriage ending. We’ve hooked up twice, and while I originally hoped I could “change his mind” I realize now that we would not make a good LTR match. But he is super sweet, respe… | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 13/01/20 09:00 PM
2020 is no more bullshit! No more excuses!1000 times YES. My trauma was a 2-1/2 year toxic relationship in college that was fraught with arguments. I was just so beat down from trying to be heard. If I’d learned this sooner, I’d likely not have married my ex in the first place. For me, it was easier to be quiet and submissive than speaking up. 20+ years later, I finally found my voice again. Though I’ve had some mis-steps in dating post-divorce, I have vowed to never not use my voice again. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 02/01/20 05:49 PM

Advice for Better Screening and AssertivenessThese are some good tips! I typically stick with many of your filters such as photo rules, no blank profiles, spell check, and other clues of deadbeats. NOPE to guys whose sole photos are in the bathroom or laying in bed. I’ve also found guys with photos solely taken in hotels are likely married and can only snap selfies when they’re not at home. No hate on truck drivers, because we are all consumers, but that’s just not the guy for me. Also NOPE on photos that are all obviously from a 2001 flip… | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 14/10/19 07:29 PM
