I happened to meet a very successful guy online, but that was 20yrs ago. And he ended up being married so there's that.

Other than that... Every guy I've met that was on the level has been in person. All by chance. One I met at the gas station in a wealthy neighborhood. Another while out for dinner at a high end restaurant with friends. Another at a jazz performance at a museum...

Best I can say is... run in the social circles you want to live in. Don't just eyeball the men, be friendly to everyone. I've met some awesome women at events who invited me to get togethers where I ended up meeting a guy. And having women as friends who like to do things I like, like jazz clubs, wine tastings, dining out has led to not only situations where I met men, but also have a wing woman who know who's who and will do personal introductions or tell me who to avoid.

I'm not afraid to go out alone, and the most I'll go out with is one woman so that I have company but still approachable. But she has to be one that doesn't mind going to upscale lounges/restaurants. I'm willing to spend that money on myself, and want a guy who that's just his lifestyle, not just something he does to impress a woman. What you're doing when you meet a man sets the tone for what you expect. Set the bar and go where guys have the same bar set for themselves as well.

You’ll probably have to go to upscale bars and hope some successful/educated man drags his decent but introverted friend/cousin/brother out with him on the night you happen to be there. If they’re educated, handsome and successful and they go out a lot they’ve most likely been snatched up by this point unless they’re fresh out of a relationship/marriage. That said I meet guys all the time in bars that aren’t huge partiers but got drug out to the bar with relatives or friends. A couple times I suspected they were on OLD meetups that didn’t go well.

Networking, happy hours, business conferences, coffee shops in college neighborhoods and business districts. Also try to go to events in your city. Meetup and Eventbrite are good places to start.

Friends parties, social circles, conferences, at random. I've also met them though dating apps, but they usually don't pursue you further when you meet them through tinder. That's why I think OLD is toxic. It just makes you one in his deck of cards and he won't take you seriously. I just find men have a dream woman who they imagine meeting in a special way

I've met mine on tinder, he's an engineer of somesort (Can't go into too much detail). With tinder, I never talked long to people who didn't have a decent job. I'm looking to settle down, not to date loads of people.

It's just the case of finding someone who has the same ideology as you, and as we all know it can take forever! Just don't give up, there is someone for everyone!

I hear you, sister. It’s been a difficult 2 years being single and I’m tired of being frustrated. So I took a hard look at my approach and am making tweaks to try to turn things around. Here’s my 2 cents.

I’m astute enough to know that while I’m not a head-turning Classic beauty, I think I’m reasonably attractive. So in OLD I’m not getting the matches I think I deserve. Once I have a conversation with someone in person, I seem to surprise guys with my personality and other positive attributes once they get to know me. I do really well in conversations on dates, but still have a bit of awkwardness in cold conversations with strangers (especially people I perceive as HVM).

With OLD you’re casting a wide net into a sea of people who will judge you solely on what they see on the screen. But my guess is many who might be a great fit aren’t even taking a chance . With that in mind, I made a commitment to myself this year to do more activities IRL that might lead to meeting someone that meets my standards, and who lives a reasonable distance for a potential LTR.

First thing I’ve done is attend Meetup events. Original goal was one/month, but I’ve already gone to 2 and signed up for one more this week. It definitely forces me out of my comfort zone and I think will have the added benefit of widening my social circle. Meetup is great because you can target groups that cater to your interests and see the attendee list to gauge what kind of crowd will be there. 80% women for a singles meetup (or a bunch of too-young or too-old men)? Might stay away from those. Meetup is also great because you can view people’s profiles to get a glimpse of what they bring to the table. That being said, I don’t steer away from women-only groups. You never know who might have a friend, cousin, son who’s single!

The second thing is a little unconventional, but I started driving for Uber in my free time. Again, I feel like this is forcing me to up my conversation skill game with strangers...and while I might not meet the love of my life in my backseat, you never know what chance encounters might come of it!

The third thing I want to do is figure out how to leverage my friend circle. My BFFs know I’m looking and I’d like to think will have my back, so I’m talking about the next tier of friends/acquaintances whom I only see occasionally. There are many of these who are well-connected and know what I bring to the table. My goal is to find a few of them and let them know I’m serious about dating and I’d appreciate their keeping me in mind when they come across HVM that might be a good fit. For example, my realtor is very successful in selling high value homes in my area of town. Next time I see her I plan to let her know to keep me in mind when she has a client who’s new in town or newly single who might be a good match. She also has sons my age who might have single friends. I think these type of connections it’s easy to assume they know you’re looking, but in many cases they won’t so it’s important to have that intentional conversation.

Only shop in areas wealthy people live. I take myself to rich areas when I run my errands so I can really only bump into high value people. Even a Walmart/target in a better neighborhood works wonders. Look beautiful when you do this.

Law school, dental school, med school, places nearby. Many of my friends from law school fell head over heels for women who were pretty clearly seeking them out.
