Noticed seddit has a new mod. Any chance you can share some info on the new guy?

Most of the comments here are giving you one-liners, but the underlying idea behind these is the same: Agree and amplify. You can check out some more examples/discussion about this from your fellow sedditors by using the search bar

Things will get better man, I'm pulling for you dude. Remember to internalize the sidebar material, get out frequently, and step outside your comfort zone. I'm going to looking forward in seeing your one year followup post. Don't let me down

The easiest way to get good at anything is to go out and try it yourself. You can read all the stuff you want about what not do, but I guarantee you will forget almost all of it when you go out in the field. But if you go out and just try something and it fails, you will most definitely remember what not to do the next time around. Learn from it and make changes as you see fit. Now try again. I have an easier time getting better when I’m the one involved in the social interaction, not someone el…

What do you do? Be a man and decide whether you want to have sex with her and risk breaking up the group, or move on and find another woman to sleep with. We can't make that decision for you because it depends on whether this is congruent with who you are and what you value. Not only that, but we don't even know anything about your social circle or the boyfriend. These kinds of details play a part in deciding what to do as well Also, specific questions like these belong in /r/askseddit

I know that feel dude. When I’m sober and I feel that I’m out of energy, I remind myself of my long-term goal: To bring out the good vibes to as many people as possible. Reminding myself that I’m doing this for a reason puts me back in a good state. Or a 5-hour energy. Maybe both. To not eat yourself up on how obnoxious all the drunk people are being, realize the world is your playground. So play in it. Entertain yourself. For example, I might say/do some dumb shit to my drunken friends just to …

In scenarios like these, it’s generally a good idea to first talk about something you both have in common because you need to build comfort. So talk about your class, professor, homework assignment, upcoming campus events, etc. Ask her what she thinks about it and include your own input. Make sure you smile, make eye contact, crack some jokes, and stray away from negative things. This will frame you as the person who brings in the good vibes. Better yet, involve your other classmates into the co…

Personally, I would just end it and suggest you stick with high school girls. You can always hook up with 21 year olds when you're older, but your time is pretty limited in hooking up with high schoolers. Also, the web of lies is going to bite you in the ass one way or another With that said, your question wasn’t whether this is right or wrong. So here’s what I would suggest: lead the interaction. For example, if you’re worried about alcoholic drinks, strongly suggest going to non-alcoholic plac…

Definitely, dude. Being a host is such an easy way to build up that social proof I remember reading a post on here where this guy was just talking to his women friends at a bar. This caught the eye of a female across the room. Long story short, the guy and stranger do the deed in the parking lot and she makes a comment about how the girls must be all over him. The guy goes what do you mean? She tells him about those girls he was talking to earlier and he laughs, saying those are just his friends…

I agree with ThrowawayPUA. If you want a subreddit with quality content, making it a default is one of the worst things you can do to ruin that. Unless you have heavy moderation like r/askscience, your subreddit will be littered with memes, valueless comments, and more people who don’t read the FAQs. Check out the default subreddits and see it for yourself, dude. I mean just imagine the huge influx of females and white knights with their “just be yourself!” advice. Feels bad, man Even having a p…

To add on to your post, I've gotten hypertrophic and discolored scars from acne and little scars from other shenanigans. What I’ve found to fix these up were these silicone sheets called ScarAway. I just slapped it on my scars all day and now they're pretty much gone. It’s a slow process so you’ll have to use it for several months, but to me it’s worth it. It’s like 27 bucks on amazon and you get 12 weeks worth of sheets (assuming you use one sheet per week). You can also pick it up at Walgreens…

Hey, I’m glad you’ve gotten some value out of this subreddit, but I’m going to have to downvote this post for the following reason: I don’t see any value in these kinds of posts. One could argue that this is meant for inspiration, but when you read many of the inspirational posts on here, you can tell some effort was taken in writing the post. You, on the other hand, posted an image of a facebook message. The image doesn't really provoke a good discussion either. We really don’t need this kind o…

Good tip. Just to add on to your post, here's a pdf by toastmasters that gives some good info on how to add strength and authority to your voice: link One of the things I've done to improve my speech was take a video of myself talking about something that I'm interested in. At first, watching and hearing yourself on video is incredibly awkward, but after awhile you'll get over it and instead will pay more attention to improving your tonality and body language.

Hey man, I graduated a year ago and I was in a similar situation as you. I didn’t feel in control of my life and I didn’t have the faintest idea on how to move forward. If you’re interested in reading my background, you can dig through my submission history to find my post about it. Here are some things that I’ve done and have been doing, which has led me to live an awesome life thus far: Define your purpose, create your goals, write up a plan, and follow through Being in college and going throu…

Hey man, thanks for taking the time to write this post. Don’t let the votes deter you from writing FRs. Meecham123 is right about the many or so lurkers that will benefit from your post, even if the upvotes don’t show it. About a month ago, someone wrote an FR where he just went up to a girl, said hi, and then asked for her number (Major props because it sounded like a big step for him). That’s all he did. That post got almost 400 upvotes and almost 100 comments. Therefore, I don’t believe for a…

You're telling me that from the day of your conception up to now, you have done nothing you have enjoyed, felt passionate about, or even felt curious about? I don't believe you. If you have a genuine interest in yourself, the person you're talking to, or even the world in general, you most definitely have something to say. Karaktor also has the right idea. To add on to his comment, I made a post that can help you get started in asking questions and such: here's the link You got this, man.

The OP posted a link that contained very thought out answers from people in the seddit community. A lot of these answers, in fact, address the issues that these FA posters are bringing up. So, to answer your question, what I have to say is what the seddit posters have already said in that link

Oh definitely, couple that with some eye contact and a smile and that approach is golden. I’ve also experienced what you did to Asian HB9, but they also get in close and lean into my ear saying some sweet nothings to kind of cement their intentions. Works too. Oh the possibilities!

I’m going to have to say it depends here, but to play it safe, one should take asad16’s advice. When I first started out, I got blown out by this really good looking HB. A guy comes up and says how he and a couple other guys have approached, but she wasn’t having any of it all night and then he just walks off. I felt fine with that. Another time I got blown out and this friend of a friend said something that made me feel like fucking Oliver Twist looking for scraps to get by, even though his int…

Definitely sounded like a fun night, nice. You mentioned that this wasn’t an engineered interaction, which is great because this serves as a reminder out there that you don’t need to bury yourself into a lot of theory to have a good time

Awesome that you followed through with your goal. I like that you were forward and let your intentions be known with the Asian HB9. Next time though, try striking up a conversation with him. Entirely possible that he was way too shy to start anything, but you never know unless you try. I don’t think I’ve read an FR from a female since I’ve been here, so thanks for taking the time and initiative.

I’m glad to hear it. Be sure to tell us how the advice plays out when you go out! I really appreciate the compliment, but I came from a very unlikely background. I was the shy kid in high school that watched anime, read books, and played video games. I approached only one girl in high school to be my girlfriend. It did not end well. In college, I did okay. It most definitely was not because of my game though, but more about my looks. I hate having to think about it, but I spent more time fearing…

Thanks for the post. It reminded me of something. Before I started seddit, I had a really hard time making conversations with strangers. I had that mentality where what I said was way too mundane. What a ridiculous mentality that was. We watch TV and play video games and notice all these neat characters having that cool ‘zinger’ or that outlandish conversation. Reality is, a lot of people don’t have those ‘zingers’ or whatever. Most people certainly can’t even think of those on the spot. Don’t s…

Nice, another example of why people here say that it doesn't matter so much as to what is said, but how it's said. Tyler from RSD was able to pick up women by talking about taxes. Anything is possible. Keep up the good work man.

Hey man, thanks for reading this. When I first started out, I just opened up everyone, everywhere. Guy or girl. Guy/Girl at the cash register? Ask how their day’s been and always give them some encouraging words. Standing in a long line for lunch? Make conversation with the person next to you. Make a comment about the line or the restaurant you’re at and then lead in with how their day has been so far. What I like to do when I’m stuck sometimes is go through the 5 W’s (one H): Who, what, where, …

As notlurkinganymoar suggests, accept the compliment with a simple “Thanks.” Also realize she went out of her way to say something nice to you, so return the favor. For example, you can then make a comment about something she’s wearing. Or ask her opinion about something relating to the student event you’re both at. Or even “Thanks. How’s your night been so far?”

You are a great friend because it sounds like you are going out of your way to help him reach his goals. The fact that you continue to endure his presence when he continually is a Debbie Downer in your life, speaks volumes about how much you value this friendship. Much respect. It sounds like he really needs to restructure his mindset here. He’s not taking accountability of his own actions and instead blaming external factors for his shortcomings (ie, blaming the terrible wingman). When he does …

There’s a trick that I use when unproductive ideas, such as social anxiety, pop in my mind: I imagine that this unproductive idea is a person. Not just any person, but the most despicable person I will ever meet. Now whenever that unproductive idea pops in my head, I imagine that despicable person trespassing into my mind and before it opens its mouth at me, I say right to its face, “Shut up and get the fuck out of here. I’m not going to listen to your shit.” Then I go along and continue whateve…

Hey man, it’s good to see that you are interested in improving yourself. The seddit community has given you a bunch of solid information to get you started, which can be found in the sidebar. Don’t spend too much time reading, though. Once you’ve read a couple concepts, start going out and approaching women. When you start approaching women, your mind may play tricks on you. Before going up to that girl, your mind might shout out nonsense like “This isn’t my thing”, “She’s too hot”, “I’m not rea…
