hey thanks for responding to me! I liked your reply, it's funny you mentioned letting a man fix something for you, lol, it seems so obvious now, but I've 100% done this before. You bring up some great points. sorry for my delay in response, life has been so busy!

This will be something I do more of, thanks /u/Proverbs-31 He already does this in some circumstances(our landlord) but I feel like this just works best. It will avoid any and all issues in the future. That's the answer I needed to my second part. Thanks again :)

Okay so I literally said this word for word: "Hey, you know that guy that was helping with jobs? He tried to get flirty with me, so I cut contact with him." his reactions was surprised and his first question was, "well, what did he say?" and so I told him everything and he just listened, and then he praised me! So you were right, we he was just happy I cut off said dude. He actually told me that he feels like he can completely trust me, and that he wouldn't mind if I told him that we can just be…

"Hey, you know that guy that was helping with jobs? He tried to get flirty with me, so I cut contact with him." Answer whatever questions he might have, but more than likely he'll just be glad you stopped it in its tracks. yes! this is perfect. thanks.

And his response was, verbatim, "Yeah, it's just physical for me." now you know, and you got some fun date experience. this is a success in my opinion. Totally messed up he was driving that intoxicated though, shows a lack of maturity, I think.

you seem to be conflating progressing a relationship with showing interest. men show interest to women they want, plain and simple, a relationship can't progress if both parties aren't doing their part, but they aren't the same thing.

if you work on your pectoral muscles it will help lift your boobs/make them perkier. we're almost the same height/weight and so when doing yoga I will specifically make sure that my upper body also gets work too! along with butt/core, a few months of this will make your hourglass just better, and if you're not an hourglass it will make whatever shape you are better :D

Terry Crews <3 but really, how is this not RP? he holds frame, he's a leader, he's level, he inspires others, he's a committed husbands, a devoted farther, a hard worker and provider, he's well dressed, physically fit, masculine, confident, I mean, that's attractive to me as a woman, I think those qualities are going to be attracted to any woman

"are you married?" questions are only awkward if you make them, best to understand that's a perfectly normal questions, similar to, "what do you think of the weather today?", "do you have kids?", "what did you do this weekend?", etc.

upvote, I 100% know what you mean, and I actually personally identify with a lot of what you wrote in your second paragraph, I feel the same way about my guy too :) I feel like no matter what the advice, or no matter how perfect it seems, it's never one size fits all, and part of being RPW means knowing what you have to do for yourself and your relationship. hindsight is 20/20(cliche') but with that said, if I had been in your situation with my SO I would have done the same thing because I knew …

are dominant men really willing to do so without having had sex with a woman? if you're worth it, he will... and it's not worth it to give it up if he wont... Cooking is very near and dear to my heart, but I don't want him to get the wrong idea with the "romantic dinner at my place" thing. so make some snacks that you two can munch on while hiking :) you can never go wrong making him some food. Don't be alarmed if you meet a man who doesn't trust you. Don't be alarmed if a man never wants to marry, or doesn't want to commit. this resonates with me a lot. when dating I met a depressingly high amount of men(25-30) who decided they "didn't want to get married. don't see the point. just a legal thing." and after reading your post it just makes me feel that these are men who are being described in your article. it's worth mentioning that I didn't get the level of commitment from a man until…

such a great post I completely understand the feel for "I should reciprocate" but I'll just give you a little insight here that maybe, as a woman, you've never come to even think about before. Women have enough ways to reciprocate in a relationship that are non-financial and every... single... one of those ways is covered in the codex of RPW behaviour/lifestyle(i.e. giving space, respecting him(time, space, silence when needed), letting him take the lead, being feminine & embracing your feminini…

well, if my man was working 50-90 hours a week, providing for our kids and I, I would have no problem with him coming home to have a drink, making him dinner, and cleaning up after him. it's not like cleaning the dishes and making a meal is "hard work" I also wouldn't consider it "mothering" to your man either, it's supporting him, the man's tired he's been working non-stop! if taking care of your man is "mothering" then i think you have a low opinion of your man

my SO is three years older than me, this is perfect for me, we're from the same generation, we work well together, I love him dearly.... I wouldn't date a man that was younger than me though. I wouldn't want to be with a man that was a lot older than me either, say 10 years.

Signals which are obvious to girls, might be impossible for boys to spot. my signal to a boy i've been interested in has always been enthusiasm. making eye contact with him, laughing with him, enjoying his stories, asking him questions to keep him talking, etc. it's not "hey boy, yes, i like you, ask me out" i feel like it sets it up more so he can have fun with our conversation and then decide "hey i would like to talk/hang out with her more" this is also kind of a good time to figure out if he…

Also, is it acceptable as a RPW to initiate the interest? i think taking a more passive approach is best. by looking nice, smiling, throwing your eyes, you should be able to attract a confident man who's willing to approach you. a man that approaches you is a great sign that he's confident, he's a leader, and for me, that's really the first "test" i put a guy through! the next is, he should ask for my number, or a way to contact me. my SO said to me after dating for a while, "why didn't you ask …

Most people have, at some point in their relationship, not been in the mood for sex. really? it is what we're discussing here, seeing as how you're a man I would imagine you'd understand this better, but I guess I'll explain.... it's not exactly uncommon for a man to get aroused when touching his woman, and in that brief moment he'll be ready to go while I'm not. th…

Women are not inferior unless you think that the qualities you think women have are inferior to the qualities men have. exactly this is why I really think the dominate majority of commenters on TBP are dealing with internalized misogyny because being associated with typical feminine qualities is seen as bad. they sneer and use satire to mock RPW for exhibiting those exact feminine traits they reject, which is a product of what you said here: Our society undervalues typically feminine qualities
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/14 05:12 PM
3

women aren't inferior to men, we're different then men, but men and women are complimentary to each other. it has nothing to do with getting women to believe they are inferior, and everything to do with how women can be women while simultaneously letting their men be men. then the relationship flourishes. men and women have different needs, assuming men and women are the same is ignoring reality.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/14 05:05 PM

why do you think those phrases are cringe-worthy? is their something wrong or cringe-worthy in admitting you like feeling like a woman, or enjoying how much stronger your man is than you?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/14 04:57 PM
9

yet we see TBP regularly mock RPW and SAHM's, satirically call RPW "sex slaves" and caricature the C/FM dynamic as "Stockholm syndrome"....

how do you feel about RPW and RP in general discussing this train of thought: "If I cry, I know he'll feel bad for me." as a very common thought/feeling shared by lots of women? I've certainly had this thought too, and in previous relationships used it to my advantage. that makes me emotionally manipulative–but I wouldn't and don't do it now, because i know better. the hardest question though, is a thought like that being shared by so many women indicative of truth in what RP says, that women ar…

I'm very happy now in a committed relationship, but while my guy asked for my "number" I never asked for his... I heard his friends say things so I assume his number is higher than mine, but honestly I care the most about us and how he feels about our relationship and if he is committed to me. I didn't find RPW until after I'd been in this relationship, but a personal rule for me was not having sex until exclusivity. So I guess I care about his commitment more than his history.

When the term feminism turned from being a message of empowerment and gender fairness to basically a list of rules, restrictions, idiosyncrasies, offenses and grievances directed at all things male, I tapped out. i don't know about double standards being a thing... men and women are different, so there's just different standards... anyway, i don't think we exactly get off easy living our lives and bothering no one and interacting amongst each other here. there are entire subreddits with communities three times our size that ridicule us. i also think the dominate narrative on TBP and amongst groups that target our sub specifically, are just hive minded people who sensationalize what's said here. basically…

you shouldn't be afraid of being held accountable for the things you say. but I don't think he was taking credit for the comments OP posted, so it's like you're saying this to him in a sort of "guilt by association" type way. it's comparable to how TRP will criticize all feminists because of the behavior of one very vocal member, when not all feminists are the way they've caricatured.

:( I hate to corroborate this, and of course it's anecdotal, it doesn't mean AWALT, but a friend of my SO and I just had a book published and he was asking me if I'd read it and critique him because he'd like some honest feedback and without really even thinking about it replied "well, i'm not the best at giving critical feedback because I have tendency to be too nice about things like that"

he knows he messed up, you bringing up your frustrations is just going to underline his mistake, he's going to want/need to talk about it anyway and you should be present and attentive and listen. stand with him and show your solidarity by being there for him and helping him pickup and keep improving. i understand about having a BF who is climbing the corporate ladder. it's cut throat, it's competitive, but this gives you a chance to really be there for him and support him, which will help him s…

I totally see what you mean now because if you trust him 100%, then you have nothing to worry about, if you don't trust him 100% then you will have that to worry about AND how he relates to you because of that lack of trust....

sorry, you're right, it's a bad hypothetical. But, /u/TheTerrorSquad I'm confused, because I wouldn't be comfortable with my man doing something like OP is describing her guy is doing. /u/HappyWifeLife I think said it best, what's the point of following a man that does this kind of stuff? I'm not perfect at RPW, I'm still learning, so feel free to tell me I'm wrong haha :D

What about role reversal? I can't imagine a real alpha man with a high SMV being considered unreasonable by telling his woman he doesn't want her inviting a man she previously "fooled around with" to an event where he's meeting her family for the first time... in fact I'm not so sure he would even tolerate being exclusive with a woman who keeps men she's had flings with around and stays in contact with.

I just think most men don't realize/don't care to study it that much tbh A few months after I first started dating my SO I mentioned I bought mascara and he was like "why? you look better without that anyway" I'd been wearing mascara every time he'd ever seen me!

we like to wake up for sunrise, yummy breakfast, and japanese tea. and then we just play footsies and goof off and talk about dreams and stuff. after that's it's "what do we have to do today, and what do we want to do today"... have to do is usually something I can get done during the week, but honestly stuff just creeps up, so there's always some potential for that. want to do stuff: we drink more tea, we practice our "love language"(which is a language he's really good at and I'm learning), we…

A single woman saying hello to an attractive man is okay. I feel like this is just typical 'girl game', it's putting yourself next to a man you're interested in, saying hello, because maybe he'll find you interesting. I know plenty of women that do this(I've done this) but then are comfortable letting him take the lead with stuff after a first "hello" like on a date, holding hands, or first kiss, you know, etc. On the other hand it could be a slut/attention whore tell by exhibiting sexually aggr…

I'm a crier. I used to be "I'm sorry" when I was bawling my eyes out, SO is like "don't say sorry!", "I wish I could make you feel better!", and he hugs me and holds me and moves my hair out of my face when I blow my snotty wet nose. If you have to cry just cry, you can't stop that kind of stuff it's not healthy. No one likes having puffy eyes or being super emotional but sometimes it just happens. There's nothing worse then crying crying crying and then blaming yourself on top of it. Don't do i…

No one aspires to be talentless and skill-less. Women before likely didn't aspire to be second fiddle. In your scenario anything that isn't high achieving capitalist CEO success is talentless and skill-less and second fiddle(you say that condescendingly) to their SO. That's just not how it is.

Individualism in the west is sacrificial to capitalism, consumerism. "When can we go home?" "When the work is done!" "Well, when's the work done?" "When you're dead."

This is long, but worth reading if you want a huge pat on the back, but in summary, basically yes. Researchers paint a sorry picture of the effect these disruptions have; children suffer emotionally, academically, and financially when they are thrown onto this kind of relationship carousel.10 This isn’t to say that unmarried mothers and fathers are faring much better emotionally than their children. New findings in this report show that unmarried twentysomething parents, both women and men, repo…

Definitely leave him a note and a snack : ) I do this and then I get a text when he gets home like "ah babe! this is great you ___" You can get bonus points if you randomly did something you know he would appreciate, like maybe he had to schedule an appointment and you just went and did it for him, or picked up something of his. Then I'll just put that in the PS of the note letting him know it's taken care of so now he can relax or do his hobbies. Doing this type of stuff gets me the best kind o…

so the OP isn't too long I'm just going to post this recipe in the comments: Here's my absolutely essential Pie Crust recipe, not only can this work for sweet pies, it can be modified for savory pies, fill it with what ever you want, use it in hand pies, it's flakey, it's practical, and it's made from scratch! Sweet Crust(fruit pies, pumpkin pies) / Savory Crust(quiche, meat pies) makes two crusts 250g flour(T55) 25g sugar(castor *or* powdered) 5g salt 125g butter 1 egg 25mL water Method Sieve f…

Since I'm in no way submissive or subservient, I prefer to defer or yield to my husband's decisions. This is such a good point. I was sort of lurking around in TBP yesterday and I noticed that this is huge misconception people have about RPW. They assume that RPW are essentially a dominant-submissive 24/7 dynamic between ourselves and our men. When really it's an extension of trust in the leadership and decision making of our guys. People talk about 'trust' in relationships, but the more common …

I'm still a feminist, I just have perspective. Women in the developing world are being forced into marriage, kidnaped, raped, and sold into human trafficking... So as far as feminism is concerned, that takes my attention. What made me a RPW though was... perspective lol I met my SO and I was falling for him hard, he was doing things that were just so sweet, like on our first date he asked what my favorite Ice Cream(Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia!) was, and a few weeks later surprised me at work o…

Yes! One thing I want to copy is, my grandmother can sew like no big deal. I sewed a button on a pair of jeans for my BF the other day, he was really busy and the button broke and he came to me like frown face jeans in one hand button in the other "please help" lol I managed to sew it on there, he said it worked famously, but I had no idea what I was doing. I really want to be able to hem shirts/pants for him and just make cute stuff. I remember whenever someone new in our family was born my gra…

Milk, bread(flour), eggs : ) it's sounds cliche' but these ingredients are used everywhere. if you learn to use flour and how to make your own muffins, biscuits, pancakes, crêpes, breads, bagels, croissants(which is a laminated dough used in many things...) it takes breakfast to a new place. most of those listed things can be whipped up while bacon is sizzling, or the oven is pre-heating, some of them you can even freeze in large batches, and just lay them out to proof before going to sleep, rea…

I feel like my life and my relationship are really none of anyone else's business, so even if someone did have some objection(like why would anyone even care, really?) to my relationship it would be incredibly presumptuous of them and it just shows that they aren't worth my attention or the depth of kindness I am capable of sharing. I stick to a rule of only speaking positively of my man to friends, co-workers, family, and acquaintances. I fully believe that you get what you put out in the world…

oh I wish I had a sister! growing up I spent lots of time with my father's parents(married 60 years) and when I first started reading RPW I noticed that this was basically everything my grandmother had done for my grandfather.
