I think when it comes to the last name for certain males who are divorced and pending a divorce. Options will be different. My only thing is if you don’t love me, want me, care about me, not speaking to me, speaking to me with attitude for no reason. Why in the world would you want to keep my last name. That’s my only thing. But every one will have a different opinion

Sounds a lot like my situation I just don’t say shit anymore. I bet she will send you a nice decent size text when she needs you to watch the kids.. ask me how I know? Hopefully you didn’t have to pay 40k out of pocket to sell a house that you didn’t even want. But to make her and the kids happy. Hopefully your mortgage wasn’t 4300 a month with 660 going to the principal for two years. But hey I digress, all water under the bridge

No blame from me there. Whatever is reasonable for you is reasonable for you ma’am. For me, if someone wants to move on by all means move on without my name

It’s not a badge of honor for a man to loose half of everything, get shafted in family court, pa absurd amounts of money in child support. Some men even think about suicide during this process. Plus if the man remarries.. think about your future wife.. who actually wants to be with you and want your last name. Maybe it’s just me. Yeah, I’ll take my last name back. Especially from women who are not being beat on, cheated on, etc. But just leave because their not happy
/r/Divorce_Men06/03/26 01:50 PM

Me personally, no offense to your mom. If i meet a woman in the future which I’m sure I will. Kids or not. I’m looking at a woman side eyed if they keep their husband’s last name. Especially if he was horrible.. and emotionally abusive and all the other stuff they say. Why keep his last name? For men who get married. And their wife dont change their name… I’m from the south here in the states.. that’s a no go for me. But that’s just me

That’s your opinion and it could raise a great Reddit discussion. As a man, I was taught your name, reputation, and work ethic is all you have. Def don’t want it tied to someone who broke my family up. But that’s me. Thanks for your response

Usually if two people have been married atleast 10 years half the pension can be awarded to the spouse. If the courts grant it. The "10/10 rule" (10 years of marriage overlapping 10 years of military service) allows the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) to send a portion of a service member's retirement directly to a former spouse. This is information coming straight from DFAS
/r/Divorce_Men02/03/26 05:02 PM

Unfortunately half of retirement seems to be protocol if you’ve been together for 10 years

She chose a military assignment to Hawaii. I’m a veteran she is serving. December 15th started our separation literally was just a separation email. We’re in Virginia so, we have to separate for 12 months before we can divorce. She chose Hawaii acting as if we’re going as a family …. But deep down she knew that’s not what she wanted. Wasn’t totally surprised seeing every time we had a serious argument she bring up divorce. 3 months here on the 15th of march separated

I’m at the point of disconnecting from everything this upcoming 90 days… I’m supposedly a good father and blah blah blah, but you “choose” to take a military assignment to Hawaii. I feel like I will Cheat my kids every time I FaceTime them or whatever and they think dad is coming to get them or see them when I’m not. My two youngest are 4/8 So, idk

Yeah I grew up in the church. Still a believer, just don’t go as much anymore. However, my wife (in house separation at this point) and my kids have been going strong for the last year. My wife is leaving due to resentment from 9-12 years ago before we married. I ask myself, god is all for marriage I believe. I’ll throw a Caveat in there if physical abuse or cheating is present some feel in religion you can walk. I guess what I’m getting at, is what you answered. Maybe she is making amends with …

I’ll leave my phone wherever i want. She could’ve easily called my brother or sent him a text. She doesn’t say shit to me in the house neither does she text me at all. Have you tried counseling and therapy. I believe if their in no infidelity or physical abuse. And I get it 20 years of issues. But if you two really give it maximum effort do you think things could get better. I’m bitter as fuck these days. But I do believe or want to believe, if two people put the work in they can fix it
/r/Divorce_Men22/02/26 07:15 PM

Tell her to call their dads. That might sound shitty, but oh well. Because as soon as shit hits the fan it will turn into, “ I don’t want you around my sons”. She can do that because they’re not your kids. You might care about them. But what happens when she cuts all contact between you and her boys. Might as well detach now. Just focus on your daughter

We’ve only been married 5 going on 6 years. I’m a 100% disabled veteran for almost a decade now and pull 80k working in IT. If I use a PI and she is cheating on me. I will RUIN HER

This is why I said she could very well be cheating. May need to look into gps. I know she shares her location with our oldest 24/7 to my knowledge. But that’s irrelevant as well. I was looking at a PI at one time. May need to look into it again
/r/Divorce_Men15/02/26 04:32 PM

I will def look into it. What information did you get that stood out
/r/Divorce_Men15/02/26 04:23 PM

Well yeah. I don’t recommend. My begging consist of text messages here and there. Saying hey we should reconcile because of said reason. I’m not in person begging on my knees. Or in her face saying please take me back. But that type of man I am. When trying to get someone to be with you that doesn’t want to is essentially begging still
/r/Divorce_Men15/02/26 04:04 PM
1

She could very well be. But she has a lot to loose. 4 years from a military pension. Adultery would not only ruin her career would send her to jail. I told her maybe a month ago in front of her mom. I said, “ yeah you cheating on me”. That came with a loud scream that I’m not cheating”. I just don’t want to be with you no more. I had a recorded in her car in the living room and her car and I had hours of nothing. But she could very well be cheating
/r/Divorce_Men15/02/26 04:01 PM
2

After your hard work and to top it off an affair. Idk if my wife is having one. I mean things haven’t been great for a long time between us. She’s 4 years from her pension. And UCMJ In the army means you can go to military prison for adultery. But unfortunately in life, and even more so now. I put nothing past anyone

Funny i told her to refinance the home in her name. Im a veteran. Shes active duty. I get the perks she does not. Why, she is still serving , so, she doesn’t qualify. She told me oh, “ i cant afford the funding fee” funding fee is 30k. Guess what we never pay due to my military service. I just looked at her

We met young to 20/22 baby early on. Breaking up getting back together. Now a total of three kids.we are now 36 and 38. Foolish of me to think her and I could make it through anything. I wasn’t perfect by a long shot. However, I always there. Helping with children, financially, supporting her career which mine took a back seat to. She is still serving in the military and I left about a decade ago (we were broken up at the time) It is what it is, at this point

I’m already angry as shit. And the day she speaks to another man in our home. The home I didn’t want. But for her and the kids brought it anyway. The home that has ruined us financially. Still current with the mortgage. But costing us 40k to sell when we’re in the home already 70k and we’ve only been here 18 months. On top of everything. Trust me. These two months have been agony and that’s why today. I’m vowing to not fuss with her or become angry with her. Or ask anything related to this marri…

She got a chance to go have experiences, and apparently the grass wasn’t so green. She was 27 during that time and I was 25. A year later we are back together and been together ever sense
