Fortunately free will exists. Men can be whatever they want. And they don’t have to pay on dates if they don’t want to.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 02:27 AM

There was definitely some initial interest since there was a match there, but you’re essentially a stranger afterall. How much interest could someone have in a stranger?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 12:39 AM

For a woman to lose interest that quickly (without any glaring dealbreakers), there likely wasn’t that much interest in the first place. Or perhaps someone else caught their interest.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 12:02 AM

Genuinely didn’t even know there was such a social media bubble lol Generally, no. I don’t think men in shorts are less attractive provided the outfit is appropriate for the occasion and venue. If he were to wear that to a fine dining restaurant, then yea it’s unattractive because he lacks awareness and judgement. Beyond that, things like the fit and style matter. But at that point, it’s really just personal taste.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 11:45 PM

It’s no use, they won’t believe anything else other than “women only like tall men”
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 08:16 PM

That’s based off your logic LOL
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 04:07 PM

So… men don’t wish to do those things because they want to be lazy?

Lol what exactly is of good value? I don’t watch his shit but he reminds me of those YouTube ads where self-proclaimed MiLliOnAiRe InVeStOrS try to sell courses to help others be as successful as them 🤡

Cool that as a man, you know those women better than they know themselves 👌🏻
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 09:35 PM

There, thanks for providing the middle man of the “men who struggle are just low value” claim lol I personally don’t agree with those claims but since we’re taking leaps here then… 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also, women generally don’t dislike sex or have a low libido. They like sex and have a drive with men they’re attracted to.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 09:25 PM

You made a claim that women who have difficulties dating are just low value as sexual partners. So similarly I can just as easily make the claim the men who have difficulties dating are just low value partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 08:57 PM

Going by your kind of logic, then it must mean that men who are unsuccessful are just low value.

If love means being with someone who makes your life worse than it is, then yea I'm not for it lol Nothing can convince me that it's ideal. But hey, you do you

As already mentioned by many others, entitlement encompasses beliefs. Example: (IF) I’m a woman who believes men owe me and should always pay for all the dates, pay for my hair nails makeup etc because I spend time looking nice to go on the date. I get irked when he doesn’t but I don’t lash out calling him a broke loser. I either decline the date respectfully or refuse to meet him for any further dates. Would you not think I’m entitled?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 03:13 PM

A lot of those men want to be Chads. And in their book, chads = asshole. Because they can’t fathom how a man who’s tall, rich, successful, charismatic etc can ever be good to a woman or be capable of a loving relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 11:03 AM

Clearly, you’re someone who doesn’t believe in platonic friendships and that men befriend women with ulterior motives. I do have plenty of male friends and my male friends have female friends too. I guarantee none of had to ever disclaim that we’re not looking for sex. If you’re THAT kind of man, then sure lol. It’s pointless to even debate it
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 09:51 AM

Question: If I prefer not to date a man above 5”10, am I thrown into the “height matters” category?

Men who hate women usually have reasons they believe justify those feelings. Likewise, women who hate men often have experiences or reasons they see as justification. Personally, I’ve always had a positive view of men, regardless of whether I found them attractive as partners. It was only after spending time on subs like this that I’ve admittedly grown to disdain a certain subset of men and become less sympathetic toward them in general. It’s the first time I’ve ever “looked” at a man (not you b…

Him being a provider has never been a priority. Him being financially secure enough and viewing money in similar ways re spending habits, quality of life is an important aspect. Whether or not they’re providers is entirely up to them. I don’t know what to tell you, some men just like it. People often reduce money to “buying luxury goods” but that’s a shallow view. Money has a much bigger impact on lifestyle than most people realize. It doesn’t just determine what you can buy… it shapes the choic…

Personal autonomy. They can continue pursuing relations, or they can choose singlehood. There’s no debate about this.

There are relationships which do exist without emotional support, sex (which you seek but disguise it as just part of “chemistry). It is somewhat transactional because you will not be doing your part or continuing with the relationship if they aren’t giving you what you seek. - I don’t demand. Being attracted to and demanding are two very different things - People seek different values from their partner. Clearly, my partner sees the value I bring thus we coupled up.Not everyone sees value in do…

This is regarding a completely different issue. You were specifically referring to women being violent after getting rejected. You pulled out data of domestic violence between couples. Your claim was that women tend to be react more negatively/violently than men. Even if this “study” you provided was applicable to this hypothesis, where’s the data on women? If there’s only stats on one side, how do you even do a comparison? 1 in 10 men like apples 1 in 9 men like oranges Ergo, women hate fruit S…

Companionship is a form of value btw. There are almost no voluntary ongoing relationships where either party isn’t getting value from the other. So is sex, security, emotional support and a whole long list of others. To say you don’t extract value from relationships is disingenuous. Who said I’d leave my partner if he was low-income? Not sure if you read my earlier comment where I mentioned genuine feelings, emotional connection etc. are part of what makes a romantic relationship. Example: I wou…

So meaning you’ll date pretty much any woman who’s willing to date you? Since they just have to exist and not bring anything to the table. If so, fair enough and good for you. Should be easy. Financial expectations are often criticised, but money is actually a significant part of any long-term relationship. Love doesn’t pay the bills. Income, or more importantly, how much someone earns, views, and manages money often reflects whether two people are compatible in terms of lifestyle, priorities, a…

No, I don’t look at romantic relationships as purely transactional. However, I also don’t think it’s honest to deny that there’s an element of value exchange. People choose partners who add value/meaning to their lives, whether that’s love, companionship, emotional support, financial provision, stability, shared goals etc But value exchange alone isn’t enough. A romantic relationship also needs genuine feelings, emotional connection, trust, compatibility, and aligned values. That’s what makes it…

Literally no one has an answer for that, because it is something that has never happened. "What ifs" are pointless, it's just making up an imaginary scenario and assuming a narrative. What matters is reality.

There is a difference of course Not denying that. It could be based on women’s subjective standards or simply just “factual”. And it would largely depend on where you are as well. Look around you, what do you think? That’s what I personally observe on a day to day basis. Not saying this counts as research, but when I’ve done a simple online poll before asking if there were more good looking women or more good looking men in the country, 90+% had the same stance as me. As much as online dating and social media can be toxic, they’ve also expanded my social capital. I prefer keeping my social and dating circles separate. Online dating has introduced me to people from vastly different backgrounds, offering perspectives and opportunities I wouldn’t otherwise have access to. Ah yes, women bad men good 🤷🏻‍♀️ I still stand by it. Since we’re playing the sweeping assumptions game, right? Clearly, 70% are loved. To think 30% not being chosen means “women don’t love men” is quite ridiculous. People (both men & women) should quit blaming others for not loving them when they make it so damned hard for them to be loved.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 09:38 PM
3

What a sweeping assumption to make as someone who’s clearly not a woman and someone who’s never lived in other parts of the world. All that kind of woe-is-me mindset kinda explains why 30% of men are single whereas the other 70% are coupled up.

True, but even discounting their artificially inflated looks, there is still a huge imbalance. Perhaps its where you're from... but where I'm from, men and women would both come to a consensus that women are generally more attractive and they tend to date down in terms of looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 06:04 PM

Fair While everyone deserves love and support growing up, I don’t think it’s on others to love someone until they’re capable of being loving themselves. At some point, we’re all responsible for developing empathy, kindness, and emotional maturity, regardless of how we were raised.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 07:24 AM

I find this framing a little contradictory. “To create loving men, we must love males” seems to imply that men become loving because someone else first loves them. But why is that expectation framed as though it’s unique to men? If boys need to be loved in order to become loving adults, wouldn’t the exact same principle apply to girls? Otherwise it starts to sound as though women are simply expected to naturally grow into loving, emotionally supportive adults while men require others to first cu…

There is some truth in what you’re saying but you’re treating the loudest people on social media as if they’re the representative of women generally. It would be akin to me generalizing men based on the inane red/black pill ideologies that get pushed in spaces like this. But in reality (or at least my reality/ what I see offline), neither group is representative of their gender. Men and women have historically tended to value somewhat different things in long-term partners. That’s not some new p…

Honestly, 90% of men I’ve met in real life are very normal and well-adjusted. Even the remaining 10% weren’t thaaat bad either. So despite some not-so-pleasant encounters, I generally have a positive view of men. It wasn’t until I started spending time on Reddit (especially subs like this) that I realized how small my own bubble was. It almost seems like the ratio is flipped online- 10% normal & well-adjusted, 90% not. There really are some men with incredibly extreme, illogical, and detached-fr…

If he hadn’t been present at all, it must mean he REAAALLY loves her. So yea she totally would’ve chosen him because women are mind-readers. We know what’s in people’s minds and sometimes things even they themselves don’t realize.

So are women supposed to assume men who are indifferent are actually secretly interested in them? Ah yes let’s all pick the guy who doesn’t care and shows up once in a while as opposed to the one who shows he cares and shows up consistently. Are women who don’t give a shit about you/ ignoring you secretly in love with you? Do you not see how this doesn’t make sense in the real world? Not sure if you’re trolling…….

I think many of us would share the same sentiment. As an educated woman myself, I would never be attracted to someone like that. It’s quite amusing though because generally people with genuinely high IQs don’t go around starting sentences with “As someone with a very high IQ…” 😶 I feel a little secondhand embarrassment here
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 09:47 PM
6

This is a much stronger argument to encourage women to also take initiative in dating generally instead of always expecting men to make first moves. Instead of going the other extreme of "Women should be the ones approaching because it benefits them and makes men feel good"
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:46 PM
4

I think OP was actually quoting himself (but paraphrased), not a woman... this is what he said in another comment here: "as someone with a very high IQ that always did very well in school, me being a blue collar worker would feel like a waste of my potential. I know I was put in this world to share my ideas. I wouldn’t be compatible with a blue collar woman off of that alone"
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:31 PM
16

If those women shame them, that's one thing. But if they don't wish to date them because of their occupation, they're essentially taking the same stance as you. If you don't wish to date down, don't be surprised when women don't either
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:24 PM
18

Can you show us the research that reveals women tend to get high paying jobs over men because of their gender? I’d like to take a read. Frankly, you yourself seem to look down on garbage men. So why would it come as a surprise to you if someone else does too?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 07:43 PM
5

OP cares about women’s comfort so much. It’s only fair for us to care about men’s safety too.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 07:24 PM
5

As with everything there are always some who agree and some who don’t. Generally, women don’t find men a nuisance if they learn how to take “no” as a valid answer and back off. It becomes a nuisance when they don’t. So the problem isn’t that women finding men approaching annoying. It’s their behavior when given an answer.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 07:20 PM
6

So... its safer for men if they approach women instead right? Wouldn't want a man to get beat if a woman approaches him and he rejects her
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 07:13 PM

Accurate. Since he sees me like once a month or smth lol
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 06:58 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 05:58 PM

As a woman, I respectfully disagree. But well… I guess as a man you definitely know women and how we feel better than we know ourselves eh 🤷🏻‍♀️ LOL Me: I like burgers. You: No, you hate them cuz they’re messy Me: I don’t like the mess but I like the burgers You: No you don’t. This is what it sounds like
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 04:16 PM
1

Back then, men were also the ones approaching. In fact they largely took the lead in dating and relationships. So how is it that the amount of singles increase because women don’t approach lol. The norm is the same, the numbers differ. So it’s likely a different issue that’s the cause
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 04:06 PM
7

If it’s a nuisance it’s because they’re likely sleazy or creepy. In that case, you can easily tell them to stop being creeps to solve the problem. (Since your solution is to dictate people’s behaviours afterall)
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 03:56 PM
3

That’s a different argument. You claimed it would be better for everyone, whereas I’m pointing out a sizable group of women who don’t obviously benefit. When you say women benefit, you’re only referring to those who dislike being approached. Women who already receive the amount of attention they want aren’t necessarily better off if they’re expected to initiate more. For them, it’s simply shifting effort from men to women, not creating additional value. Sure it’s a norm but not universal rule. P…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 03:52 PM
4

Doesn’t seem much safer than how OP claims it to be lol But he’ll likely counter argue and say you’re just the exception or perhaps to “choose better” 🤷🏻‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 03:11 PM
3

So essentially you would like women to approach men whom they aren’t attracted to?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 03:07 PM
5

“Better for everyone” is definitely quite a leap. How would women who already get approached benefit from this? Making the first move has always been an option for everyone, it’s not like there was a rule stating that men have to do it and that women can’t. If people thought it would be better for them and wanted to, they would’ve done so already. As a woman who has approached men before, logic is simple. I do it when I see a man I’m attracted to.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 03:05 PM

You’re basically negating everyone’s exception in a feeble attempt to prove your argument right. If there are so many exceptions then… maybe they’re not really exceptions anymore. At some point, they stop being outliers and start showing that your rule isn’t as universal as you’re claiming.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 02:54 PM

Feminism in one thing. Sexism is another. It seems like what you’re upset about is sexism disguised as feminism, not actual feminism itself
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 01:26 PM
12

Funnily enough, a lot of men who couldn’t get women end up over-subscribing to the more extreme red pill ideologies. And guess what? Most of them still can’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 12:41 PM

It’s largely dependent on the disqualifying factor whether it’s viewed as something negative or not. The why is important. I won’t date men who work out a lot or are too outdoorsy. Do I think it’s a negative? Not at all. In fact, I kinda wish I could be like that. But I solely disqualify them because I physically can’t keep up with that lifestyle. Not every rejection is a value judgment. Sometimes it’s just an acknowledgment that two people are likely incompatible.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 11:37 AM
3

Fair.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 09:49 PM
2

Well, but the fact is men still are doing the initiating. So perhaps they do feel that they have more to gain and less to lose.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 09:44 PM
3

Thus I didn’t say I disagree but that I don’t know if I can. I mean as people here like to say… “men/women aren’t a monolith” So what a person personally thinks or feels isn’t quite the objective truth. It’s always some do, some don’t. Just like with almost anything else
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 09:41 PM

I don’t know if I can agree with you on this. I’ve dated what would be considered top 1% men, including my current partner. Alot of those successful confident men genuinely enjoy pursuing a woman they’re interested in. Perhaps it’s more common in that group. Reciprocity is important, but taking the initiative to approach isn’t. Sure they’d be flattered if a woman approached them. But it doesn’t make the woman come off more attractive. Many of these men are used to being proactive in every area o…

Just my opinion, but I think women generally have slightly more leverage in the early stages of modern dating. The reason isn’t that women are inherently more valuable or that men are doing something wrong. It’s that on average, men are more willing to initiate than women are. When one side is more willing to compete for attention, the other side naturally has more choice and can afford to be more passive. Another factor is that women generally seem more comfortable remaining single if they don’…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 09:17 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 04:25 PM

That advice is way better than them wanting the women who are fine with the way things to lower their standards instead.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 04:22 PM

Ah I see. So it’s not quite a debate or controversial take then. Because I’d have thought it’s pretty much common ground that some people do bad things, and that not everyone who does them is fully aware they’re doing something wrong
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 04:16 PM

So meaning to say they’re likely aiming for 6s & above this they struggle with dating/finding a match. But if they can casually sleep with a 3 and get some confidence (or whatever skills gained from casual sex), they can possibly get into a relationship with a 4 or 5. But yea I agree it’s typically harder for a man to casually sleep with a woman than to get into a relationship with them. Unless they go for the “undesirables” who happen to think the man in question is subjectively attractive. Str…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 04:11 PM

My bad then. So just to clarify, the gist of your post is that men and women both manipulate each other and both are douches who don’t know what they want.

The same way you only see super obvious cases of men manipulating women I guess…?

OP is just a troll, right? Almost everyday I see some inane beliefs and think that it can’t get any worse. But people never fail to surprise
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 03:48 PM

Lol way too convenient to say men who manipulate women are just "douches who have no idea what they want" but women who do that are "calculated sociopaths" Do you think men are that stupid or that women are too smart for men?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 03:46 PM
2

Some fair points here too. Maybe I’m thinking from my personal perspective and it doesn’t apply to those men. I would only match or go on dates with men who meet my standards, but I won’t necessarily sleep with them. Because a 2hr date to me is a lot more casual than even casual sex. I’m all for people having standards and believe that attraction can’t be forced. Hmm I do think having a healthy and fulfilling sex life can improve someone’s overall well-being and confidence levels. But I think this advice falls apart in practice. Most men who struggle with relationships are already struggling to get dates, let alone casual sex. Unless you’re referring to paid sex. As for suggesting they sleep with uggos, I don’t think that’s a realistic solution either. I’m a woman, so I can’t speak for men with certainty, but my impression is that many men are willing to…

OP, I don’t mean this in a gotcha way or that you’re fishing for compliments… But I hope you know you’re not ugly at all. Ok sure you can have your way since you clearly assign your own meaning to certain terms. Call the police on me then since I’m a criminal 🤷🏻‍♀️ We can say that you’re a rapist then since you make women sleep with you even though they think you’re unattractive. Two can play at that game.

Nope, sex isn’t necessarily a part of sugar dating. As you said, it’s a norm. Norm meaning it’s typical and happens most of the time, but not all the time. Otherwise it would be called a universal rule. When he willingly gave money, he thanked me for my time and meeting him. Ergo he was paying for my time and companionship. I’m honestly glad you struggle in sugar dating. It’s good that there’s a lower chance of women meeting men like you who have such a warped sense of things & will cry robbery …

Nahhh he’s crashing out like a crazy person. I actually shared brief experience with sugar dating (Granted I did it out of curiosity lol) and OP claims I’m a scammer. Guy never mentioned sex as part of the deal I never said I’d have sex with him I didn’t even ask for money or payment or any sort After the dinner date, guy gave me an amount of money on his own accord and thanked me for my time And OP classifies this as a scam. Not explicitly. Mainly I expressed how I was exploring out of curiosity, I didn't know how I feel about whole sugar daddy thing and that I don't think it would lead to anywhere for me. On his end, he said it was fine because he enjoyed my companionship. I'm pretty sure he would be hoping for sex at some point, but idk maybe during that brief period I filled the social lack in his life albeit not the sexual lack As for second guy, because he mentioned sex, I straight up told him I'm not looking f…

Allow me to share my experience on sugar dating as a woman. Granted I didn't have the full experience because I did it for a short while more so out of curiosity as an experiment. (no sex involved, just dates) What I knew of sugar daddies was what I've seen on screens so it was definitely a shock my first day on the app. Obviously most men were old, fat or ugly, married. I was naive to think that sugar daddies wanted some sort of a part-time relationship with women (dates, travel, mentorship, se…

Interesting. You called me shallow without hesitation, but the moment I said your assumption was shallow, it suddenly became "shaming." Do you impose different judgement when it comes to your words vs someone else's? I don't necessarily think having weight or height preferences is inherently shallow. To some extent, everyone has preferences when it comes to physical attributes. It becomes shallow when those preferences are so extreme that they completely overshadow qualities like character, valu…

Honestly, from someone who wants me to label myself as shallow, that’s a pretty shallow assumption from you that my preferences are physical attributes. But no can do, I will not want people to think setting standards for themselves is shallow. I agree that preferences don't exist in a vacuum. They're shaped by a combination of biology, culture, upbringing and personal experience. Speaking of personal experience... in my early days of dating my standards were pretty average. The dates I went on though were h o r r i b l e. And before anyone says it's because they're Chads, no they don't look even remotely close to a Chad. So I started being more selective and set high standards (admittedly my standards are those I reckon people here wo…

Now that you say it, yea kinda true. I do see that in my circles as well, where women can have quite differing views on what they find physically attractive. Nope. I don't think the problem is that men and women have preferences. What I do think causes a the divide is when every disappointment gets externalised into "the other gender is the problem." Men blaming women for their struggles, women blaming men for theirs, and both sides framing personal frustrations as evidence of a systemic failure. That mindset breeds resentment rather than understanding. People are allowed to have preferences, standards and dealbreakers. The issue isn't that those pre…

My bad I accidentally added in the word universal. I meant to say it’s just a NORM. It literally is the textbook version of modern dating. You ask someone out whether or not you’re friends or strangers or met through school whatever. You live in India, so yea maybe it’s not the norm. But almost anywhere else especially western countries, IT IS. And you’re talking about western culture. Crazy how you don’t live this reality but claim things about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 03:18 PM

Sure an individual can’t solve a societal level problem. Collectively, possible depending on the nature and scale of problem. But even collective change has to start somewhere, an individual needs to get the ball rolling. Having a bunch of people echoing something doesn’t magically create change. There is also a distinction between the examples in my OC. One is someone identifying an issue to seek advice, explore ways to move forward, raise awareness, or invite an objective discussion. The other…

Dude, you can pick whichever approach you want. Plenty of people have dated their friends and coupled up. Plenty of people have dated strangers and coupled up. Asking people out is the norm in dating (because otherwise, dates would never happen), not quite a universal standard. So essentially the point of this essay is that asking someone out should not be treated as the universal standard or ultimate measure of confidence and romance. There’s actually no argument here because it’s quite a unive…

You do know that people ask others out on dates in order to get to know them right…? Pretty sure this is a universal norm in dating. One person asks the other person out and they go on a date. Hey get my imaginary naked body out of your mind! Lol I said you can assume not visualise it 😂 My perspective: Hupothetically, if I man doesn’t pick swipe right or go on a date with me because I don’t match his standards, he wont be able to hurt me at all. Unless he lowers his standards and decides to give me a shot, ends up being resentful and mean because I’m not what he truly desires. Is this what you’re referring to?

This post is kinda strange… How are people supposed to go on dates if they don’t ask people out? What should be the universal standard then? Just show up to a restaurant and plop down at a random person’s table? Or are you arguing that people should just be dating their friend group?

Oh? Debate over? Doesn’t hit anywhere close to home. But you can assume I’m a cum dumpster if it makes you feel better about everything, I don’t mind. I’m just being objective here wanting to see different perspectives since you claim people having high standards is traumatizing you.

Yes, agreed that there is something wrong. It could be a personality "flaw", could be the approach, could be a mental illness or disability etc I'm not denying that. But the argument was that it doesn't equate to moral or character failing. If they're the type who play the blame game and constantly hate on the opposite gender, then yea I have zero empathy. I have to strongly disagree. We’re saying that not be chosen or wanted does not equate to being a bad person. But being chosen doesn’t automatically mean you are a good person. Desirability doesn’t necessarily define a person’s character as desirability can stem from other factors like looks, benefits etc It may be unusual and sure it makes people wonder what’s the issue with them, but until you know why, you can’t claim with certainty that it’s a moral or character failing. I would see it as a red flag if a man is incapable of forming genuine friendships with women because of that mindset. I have a close group of male friends, and we’ve been friends for well over a decade. A common sentiment I see on Reddit is that “all women want is a 6ft Chad.” Whenever someone points out that qualities like confidence, status, ambition or financial stability also matter, there’s always a group insisting women overwhelmingly prioritize height and looks. Depends on their ages perhaps. A quick google search showed that majority of adult women are actually partnered up. For those who can't get men that meet their cartoonishly high standards, well... it's a self-imposed outcome. If they're not happy about it, too bad deal with it. If they're happier staying single than settling, I'm happy for them. They live with the consequences of their actions. Why should anyone else have to feel so triggered over it?

I barely know anything about pills or what they stand for exactly, but that is something I definitely don't agree with. Even if I don't find someone attractive or there are things about them I dislike, it doesn't speak for his morals and character (barring something being actually morally wrong). It's simply a compatibility/preference mismatch. Certain types of personalities aren't well received by majority, doesn't make them inherently bad people either.

People in poor countries are largely uneducated, lack resources and access to birth control etc, they lack informed knowledge. Nothing wrong with that objectively, but I personally don’t like it because it’s not something I conform to. When it comes to relationships, I still think of women in a more deferential role and the man leads. Ah we’re cherry picking now huh. Learn to read. “This principle applies equally to men and women” I made sure to include that because I knew some butthurt people would automatically go on the defensive lol My stance (last para) is not directed any gender specifically or rather for both genders. You going on some rant reeking of bitterness without actually digesting the post speaks for itself…….

My post was BASED ON OBSERVATIONS (so saying I didn’t look is just inane argument haha) and doesn’t include anything I claimed to be facts. That’s the beauty of opinions, they don’t have to be researched or be proven right. Opinions by definition is not based on absolute proof thus the word. Or they would be called facts instead. If I were to say my friends experienced certain things with men, do I have to research them? No, it’s merely an observation. If every opinion expressed here are taken a…

Usually, both are ugly. And poor. Pardon my bluntness. I mean to a point where I am sometimes genuinely baffled how they even managed to knock someone up. Then I tell myself maybe they have one helluva charming personality idk

Bro, there’s a significant number of rich(er) men who tower over your nerdy Asian friends. As another commenter said, rich doesn’t equate to automatically getting women. Likewise, there are also extremely beautiful women who are single. That doesn’t mean men suddenly aren’t visual creatures who place importance on looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 06:48 AM

Everything people say here is a generalization. We’re talking population-level trends, not absolutes. Look at the wealthy men around, most are honestly either average or below-average in the looks department. They not only have an abundance of women throwing themselves at them, they tend to end up with those who are conventionally attractive. Because what they have is money and power which are things sought after by almost everyone regardless of gender. Men want that and women want men who have …

Almost as radical as the world ending because women don’t wish to be with men they’re not attracted to. Yes I do think men (somehow feel the need to disclaim I don’t mean alll men) have become less attractive. Not necessarily physically, but in terms of outlook and behavior. Decades ago, black/red/whatever pill, incel rhetoric, endless 50/50 discourse weren’t nearly as mainstream. Now, a noticeable number of men have adopted those worldviews, build entire identities around them, reinforce one an…

Errr ok guess the only outcome of people having standards is that the world will end. Sure. Or… in desperate times people could attempt a journey of self-improvement to make themselves just better people overall and more appealing to the opposite sex for natural continuation of humanity. Instead of pressuring people who don’t like each other to consummate and reproduce. Why do people have to go to such extremes or make it a life/death situation lol
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 05:47 AM

Huh? From what I see, this whole “women have unrealistically high standards” thing stem from some outrightly stating they want 6ft 6figs men. Why would people lie about that? Do they secretly want 5ft 5figs?? Isn’t that why so many women are labeled as shallow/gold-diggers? Lol You’re claiming 80yo grandmas have as much power on the dating market as the top 1% men? Granted I don’t do statistical research, but the rest of it are just my opinions and I don’t see how it isn’t in good faith. After some googling, indeed the rates of people being partnered up has decreased although majority are still partnered up. Childlessness is a whole other issue. Plenty of couples are partnered up but childless too and it largely has to do with lifestyle and high cost of living, not for lack of partner. My original viewpoint still stands, I’m all for people having their sta…

For the millionth time… A bunch of people constantly whining on Reddit about this issue isn’t evidence of mass hysteria. The majority of adults are still partnered, so calling this an “unprecedented cultural shift” is quite the leap. It’s also a stretch to assume that people who stand by their standards are acting irrationally simply because they make different trade-offs than some other would. Societies do have a vested interest in maintaining fertility and social stability. But if birth rates are the concern, the appropriate response is to address why people aren’t having children. Mostly due to high cost of living, economic security, work life balance etc. It would take A LOT to incentivise people who don’t want kids to change their minds. And whatever policy has to be standardised across the board which would likely cost a ton of money. It’s also difficult to limit people’s freedom…

Likewise, you can say that if OP doesn’t have the desire and expectation to be married, he should bring that up. Precisely because that marriage is still the default outcome and societal norm. Whether it should or shouldn’t be is another issue on its own. Seems to be a communication problem on OP’s end. Like how he expects women to put out for him because he atomically assumes they could be fuck buddies. It’s not on women to go around telling men who talk to them saying “hey just to let you know…

Who gets pregnant to ensure continuation of humankind then? Cuz I’m pretty sure most men wouldn’t want to carry or birth a child. And since there are no gender roles, many women wouldn’t want to go through that either.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 02:22 AM
8

Yea fuck buddies are normal but did those girls know they were entering into a fuck buddy situation? If so then yea you’d get some sort of sympathy since they led you on. But if not, I can see why people would shit on you for expecting sex just because you interacted with them. Men interact with women ever so often. Should women be giving out sex like Halloween candy?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 02:17 AM

Not ideal for sure, but better than trying to force people who aren’t compatible/ don’t like each other to be in relationships and raise families. That wouldn’t end up well either

Not even comparable. Entering a relationship (which most people do with the intention of it potentially leading to marriage) and then acting surprised when your partner expects that outcome is fundamentally different from expecting sex simply because you’ve spent a lot of time interacting with women. One expectation arises from the nature of relationships while the other arises from entitlement. Pretty clear cut I’d say

Oh and here I thought something big was gonna happen What are you claiming women don’t take responsibility for btw? I agree sometimes we don’t take responsibility. Like how we don’t take responsibility for men being single
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 01:28 AM

I’d suggest you google discrimination instead of going by your own definition/ your reality. Copy pasted from Google. Discrimination is the unfair or prejudicial treatment of individuals or groups based on characteristics such as race, gender, age, religion, or sexual orientation. It occurs when someone is denied equal rights, opportunities, or fair treatment due to their identity rather than their individual merit. 1) Not being attracted to someone does not equate to treating said person badly …
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 01:23 AM
4

Fair. I won’t dispute that studies show different rating distributions on dating apps. Ngl, I don’t do research. Everything is based on observations from this sub and from others’ experiences in real life. Even if 80% of women rate a man below average on a dating app, that still doesn’t establish an objective “true rating.” It establishes a statistical preference among a particular sample. My point was never that there are no patterns in attraction. It’s that people treat concepts like “looksmat…

/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 01:01 AM

Oh yea for sure top men do sleep down, won’t deny that. And it is observed in my country that mid men lie and cheat as well when they’re given a chance. Equal odds. I mean… I look at the single moms and their exes… honestly they mostly aren’t lookers and don’t have much to their name either.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 12:59 AM
4

I think its fair to say I’ve not chosen to best choice of term
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 12:45 AM

By your definition, everyone is guilty of discrimination then. Because I’m pretty sure every single person has someone they’re not attracted to. Yea?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 12:44 AM
8

Stop lying about what their high standards are? Or lying that they don’t have standards? I highly doubt lying about standards we have will get us what we want. I mean, I myself admittedly have high standards which I’m proud of and it has gotten me to a good place. Let’s get real, manipulation, abuse etc is not gender-specific. Happens on both sides real often. You made those claims first so isn’t onus on you to substantiate them?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 12:43 AM
7

Well, first step on the road to marriage is at least dating. Lol I find it funny how people automatically assume the men who get women to be bad Chads while the rest of the single ones are good guys. Like if a woman has high standards and finds a man = he’s a player who only looks to sleep around But if she goes for what society dictates to be a below average man = he’s a good guy and is interested in a genuine relationship
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 12:37 AM
2

Oh absolutely no complaints on my end lol 🤷🏻‍♀️ But yea which is why I mentioned if someone is happier not settling for less, it’s perfectly fine. Perhaps it’s the demographic on Reddit, but yea I definitely do see more men than women complaining

Which I mentioned right after
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 12:27 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 12:24 AM
6

A lie? Lmao literally see people on Reddit harping on the whole “women have high standards” thing wayyy too often. Oh I would agree both men and women are equally superficial. The rest of your response just sounds a lot like projection to be honest
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 12:22 AM

You’re going into a debate about the semantics of the term since we interpret merit differently
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 12:19 AM

That’s a completely false equivalence. Not being attracted to someone isn’t discrimination. Men also have equal rights to not be with women they aren’t attracted to

Personally I don’t think everyone can become attractive
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 11:59 PM

Water is wet yea but weirdly enough some men still won’t stop harping on women having standards being the reason they can’t find a partner 🤷🏻‍♀️ Almost akin to applying for a job and getting mad that they didn’t get hired because they don’t hit the company’s criteria and feel it should be lowered
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 11:50 PM

Help with solutions by giving advice? Sure. Provided those men are even open to it because some of them do think they know women better than we know ourselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 05:27 PM

Personally, yea I'm not into casual sex. Sex for me requires a level of emotional, mental and physical connection/attraction. Also, wouldn't wanna gamble on 50% chance of bad sex + risk of catching STDs from randos.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 05:17 PM
32

I empathise with people who bring up issues and actively work on solutions. What I find repulsive is when people repeatedly whine about the same issues, make no effort to change their circumstances, and instead blame everyone else.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 04:15 PM
9

Your argument boils down to hindsight bias. Furries eventually found their people Great, they weren’t the problem after all. But for those who have yet to find their people? Then “you must be the problem.” The difference between those two groups is timing, yet you’re assigning them completely different character judgments. That’s not evidence, it’s just assuming the conclusion. Also, just fyi, obnoxiousness and charisma aren’t mutually exclusive traits.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 09:30 PM
14

You’re presenting a false dichotomy. Either it’s entirely their fault, or they’re making excuses. Reality is that social outcomes are probabilistic. A funny, kind person in the wrong environment can struggle socially. An obnoxious but charismatic person in the right environment can thrive. Saying “if nobody wants to know you, you’re the problem” ignores the role of circumstance, compatibility, and chance.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 08:48 PM
10

There’s a difference between saying “your first impression matters” and “if nobody gets to know you, you’re the problem.” The first is generally true. The second ignores that people are judged on appearance, confidence, status, social context, and countless other factors before their personality ever comes into play. Personality isn’t always the first filter.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 08:11 PM
23

Exactly. OP acting like you can't have double standards for age gaps when there's a difference between 17&37 vs 30&50
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 05:28 PM
36

The age gap and actual ages are important in this context or this is basically a whole load of nothing post.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 04:16 PM

Spoken like a true lonely man. Funny how it’s always the one who has nothing to offer/ the undesired ones that love throwing out the whole “what do you bring to the table” thing Dude, it’s fine if you can’t see what others bring to the table it doesn’t matter either when you’re not even at the table and no one’s inviting you to sit down.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 09:32 AM

Carnage? Lol So people not being attracted to certain qualities is baaad? How so? 😂 I’d argue that being with incompatible partners and in unhappy relationships is worse and causes cArNaGe Your comment isn’t even logical.

/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 03:16 AM

They’d rather women have no preferences. Or perhaps just preferences which don’t exclude them. It baffles me why people like to diss others’ preferences/ standards or try to dictate them. I mean personally if a man were to exclude me from his dating pool because I’m not curvy enough or whatever, wouldn’t bother me at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 03:09 AM
2

I have always been well provided for by my partner. Which to me is a norm but apparently on Reddit you come to find that it’s not as common as we think. You should make a post about that actually to let your fellow men know because it’s quite apparent that most men here are all about 50/50
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/26 11:48 AM
1

The example you brought up is the exception, not the rule. Most people just get annoyed and disturbed if someone they’ve rejected keeps pestering them.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/26 09:31 AM
5

I mean... you made up excuses for why they can't even have friendships with females. In that case, they really are doomed. They'd really need some miracle magical hypothetical woman to magically appear in their lives and offer herself up to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 04:39 PM
7

Aaand that's the problem there. If one isn't even capable of basuc friendship, how could they be ready for relationships?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 04:27 PM
8

Doubt it. When I say friendships, I mean going into them with the intention of a platonic one, not secretly hoping they can shoot their shot. As a woman, why would I bother if I can vibe with someone as a friend even tho he struggles with dating?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 04:18 PM
8

They are indeed different branches but many of those below average men are lacking in general social skills/ etiquette. Also, friendships can blossom into relationships too.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 03:44 PM
14

Unfortunately, reality is such. People would hardly give anyone a chance if they’re not attracted to and don’t see much redeeming qualities in the other party. Social skills can also be trained up by having friends and socialising/ having friends who are adept in the dating department. Everyone starts out with zero experience afterall
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 03:38 PM
4

Errr so if men feel repulsed by the idea of financially providing for women like a daddy, is it also conclusive proof that men don’t love women for who they are?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/26 02:53 PM

Fair. There are plenty of single people who lead rich fulfilling lives too without a partner. Perhaps they could look into that.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 04:00 PM

Food and water are both essentials for survival. Romantic relationships aren’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 03:51 PM
6

There isn’t much of a discussion to be had. It’s basically a boy whining about how a partner deciding to draw sexual boundaries or having a change of sexual preferences is oh so unfair and punishment to him.

10

Agreed. She met you 🤷🏻‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 02:30 PM

People don’t complain about having legs… they complain about having to use them or how tiring it is. It’s a choice how often someone chooses to walk or run. They could choose a sedentary lifestyle like some do. The whining while not wrong, comes across pathetic when done so often.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 01:56 PM
4

Having legs but always complaining about how they have to get up or walk to get to places.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 01:44 PM

This ⬆️ Maybe not as common in real life, but quite a common observation on Reddit that many men expect/want trad wives or women with trad traits but they either make barely enough to support a family or they expect 50/50 financial splits. Baffling, really.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 08:22 AM
2

When you mean genuinely sexually attracted to, are we taking into account personality and other traits?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 10:23 PM
5

I like clarity. If after a certain amount of time he doesn’t make any obvious moves or verbally convey his feelings, I’d make known my stance and also straight up ask him about his. In my experience, when a man likes me he’d make it pretty obvious through words and actions - flowers, date nights, shared experiences, thoughtful gestures & gifts, genuinely curious about what I’m like as a person/my interests/my fam&friends etc
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 12:50 PM
5

I’ve been to quite a few bachelorette parties and none had strippers involved. On the contrary, it has always been very wholesome parties.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/26 06:19 AM

Fair enough! They’re my close friends and we talk about our dating lives a lot…. even in too much detail lol. Also, most have already got married or are in relationships now. Of course dating wasn’t all rainbows and sunshine for them but the challenges they faced were the pretty common ones that almost everyone else faces. Nothing serious like being unable to get matches or score a date for months
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 03:37 AM
1

Bro, if seems like you’re hell bent on changing my entire stance. Hahaha You could give me a thousand “what ifs” but nah. I mean the reality is I look at the men in my social circles and literally all of them don’t struggle with dating. None of them are settling with less-than-desirable women either. So while I believe dating as a man is harder, I don’t think it’s that nightmarish
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 12:34 AM
3

Umm sure little buddy. Way to project your own failures onto everyone else 🤷🏻‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 06:07 PM
2

Yes women can be way more selective. Statistically speaking, I would already fare better than most men in my dating pool just going by on-paper qualities. I myself have high standards for men (as the men would call it, “too picky”) and admittedly I would fall slightly short of my own standards but likely match most average womens’ dating criteria. Those set of social skills, not a problem at all. Even as a woman I’ve cold approached men before, and initiating, planning dates etc isn’t exactly so…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 05:53 PM
2

Because I’m assuming that I’ll be the male equivalent of myself in the sense that I’ll have roughly the same level of attractiveness, intelligence, social skills, earning power etc. Plus, I’ll treat women the way I enjoy being treated. If all that stays comparable, I don’t see why attracting a girlfriend would be impossible.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 05:26 PM
1

Yes, I’m pretty confident I’d have a decently successful dating life as a man. The bar isn’t exactly sky-high. Yes, I know how to treat a woman well. I’d simply treat her the way I’ve been treated in my own relationships. And yes, I think I’d probably be more content than the average man. But no, I don’t think I’d actually be happier as a man than I am as a woman. I genuinely enjoy the perks of being a woman. And honestly, I don’t think either gender is massively disadvantaged in society once yo…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 05:05 PM
7

Wait… so your solution is for women to sleep with men whom they have no attraction towards? Lol I mean… sure, just give your fellow men that same advice - tell them to sleep with anyone regardless if they’re attracted. That would solve their “nobody wants me” issue. 👌🏻
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 11:07 AM
8

If women were to be as shallow and superficial as you and focus purely on looks, then good luck to most men. They’re gonna get laid even less then before. Because let’s get real… a large number of men aren’t conventionally attractive. And many of us take into account their personalities which bump them up on the attractiveness scale.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 09:35 AM
5

Is whatever they’re doing working for those men? Why are they complaining so much about not being able to attract women/ get laid?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 08:39 AM

Huh? I hope you’re not trying to blame women for men choosing to date women who expect them to pay.

/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 02:17 AM

The subject is entirely different - it’s someone accusing an entire gender of absolutely ridiculous things. Btw, you do know that there are men and women above you right? Is that why you’re so resentful? Because you cannot accept that fact? You really think that women spend all their time ridiculing men? I’m pretty sure you’re overestimating how much they actually care about the “low hanging fruit”
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 01:23 AM
36

Bro, as a woman myself who admittedly does have pretty high standards for my partner, I can assure you that the “lonely broken men” barely cross my mind, and I think about those power elite men even less than that. Never once have I even thought of punishing them etc, much less resent them for their power 🤣 You genuinely think we can’t accept the reality that there’s a man above us? There’s literally someone above almost anyone, that ain’t groundbreaking news or something tough to swallow buddy.…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 12:36 AM

I do actually empathise with many of the so called “losers” because a lot of them seem like decent people who simply have no idea what they should be doing differently. But others who do nothing but whine and wallow in self pity and blame everyone else, why should anyone care? You can’t help someone who’s committed to playing victim.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 04:44 PM

Funny how you actually think that’s a gotcha lol I feel secondhand embarrassment for you. You do realize that whole “women are the more sexually valuable gender” is something YOU claim and believe in, right? I’m completely at peace and neutral even if you were to claim men are more sexually valuable. What I’ve learnt from such subs is that it’s generally people who are struggling with dating, struggling with life who love coming up with their own ideologies and spreading their “words of wisdom”.…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 04:13 PM

There will always be idiots pushing for their own “women are superior” or “men are superior” agendas. Would I tell them they’re dense? Probably. Would I truly care? No because all these inane discussions won’t impact my life in any way.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 03:54 PM

Yea sure all types of sexual desires can be reasonable, but that doesn’t make it desirable. Men also have the autonomy to decide what’s desirable to them. It’s not like they’d accept just any woman either.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 02:09 PM

I actually think women are pretty at peace with being the more sexually valuable gender. So what would your solution be? What should women do then? You want us to magically be attracted to most men? You want us to modify our innate preferences? What is it?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 11:40 AM

Nope. In comments you insist that he’s the victim (even though unraveling of the case has shown that he’s more likely not) which would mean that there aren’t false allegations to begin with.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 10:30 AM

You edited your post. Your argument was based on this being a case of false allegations and that she shouldn’t sue for defamation even if she was falsely accused because she’s privileged. Also, isn’t the legal assumption “innocent until proven guilty?”
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 10:21 AM

It’s indeed strange how OP keeps thinking of that guy as the victim 🤔
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 10:04 AM

As you said RARE. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. Also, not as rare as you think. So if people commit “rare” crimes, then they should be given benefit of the doubt and go scot-free? Do you hear what you’re saying? She’s causing harm to the victims? Lmao she IS the victim in this scenario. Someone caused her harm. Also, the dude didn’t need to falsely accuse her but he did. Thus, he gets whatever is coming to him. No one should be let off easy for damaging someone’s life. So what now, people…

“She can take the hit” is such an inane justification. IF she did sexually harass him, she deserves to be held accountable and punished for it. But IF she didn’t, then he deserves to be sued. Being privileged and a millionaire doesn’t entitle others to falsely accuse her of wrongdoings. Why should anyone have to take reputational or financial hit because of someone else’s false allegations? There should be serious consequences for people who knowingly make false allegations. They’re the ones mak…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 09:22 AM

Why not if she’s both fat and dark? Hmm? Then perhaps consider that women don’t want you not only because you’re short. You probably don’t fit the rest of their preferences too 🤷🏻‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 08:00 AM

Would you love someone with a great personality who’s dark skinned and fat (which you claim you don’t like)? Lmao
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 07:53 AM

Everyone is entitled to their own preferences. But if nobody who matches that preference wants you back, you’re shopping outside of your league. That’s the reality check.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 07:47 AM

Yea and then bro shames women for liking tall men. 🙄 What a hypocrite.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 06:16 AM

Because being short is already their greatest "achievement" in life. Because y'all don't have any other redeeming qualities and choose to wallow in self-pity
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 05:26 PM

Ok don’t date then or even attempt to. Since all women hate you anyway 💁🏻‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 05:16 PM

Or that they just allow their height to be their entire personality. Nobody fixates on a short man’s height as much as the short man who’s insecure about it. So short that they can’t see that this victim mentality is the bigger issue.

Are you mentally ill?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 01:04 PM

I don’t understand why some men love insisting that women only go for top 20% while the other 80% will never find love, and yettttttt they still wanna date and keep whining about it. I mean if you believe that’s the universal truth, then quit dating since it’s a lost cause anyway. Just hate women and go watch tv or something
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 08:37 AM

Here we go again… finding an example that fits your own sweeping belief and then claiming it as some sort of “universal truth” 🤦🏻‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 04:49 AM

Not a problem. There’s hired help for most household chores and as for the other miscellaneous chores, I’m more than happy to do them for my man. It’s a bonus if he can cook but not a big deal if he can’t. When it comes to sexual aspects like his willingness to go down south……. I guess this is something to figure out during the dating stage.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 07:38 PM

Yea yea everyone is convinced that you’re right and Google’s wrong 🤡 Newsflash: Just because you and your friends are virgins, you’re not representative of 50% of the male population. Math doesn’t work that way.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 10:40 PM
1

Dude, you really think people here don’t know how to use google? That’s a blatant lie. Averagely, 5-10% of adult men are virgins. Only 1-2% of men globally remain virgins past the age of 40.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 10:20 PM

How so? I didn’t call you an incel. Lol You were the one who brought up mention of incels. And implied that statistics and all the men you meet are a perfect display of how low value men are incels. So it’s natural to assume that you’re just hanging around incels a lot. No? My argument is simple- there are low value men who aren’t incels.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 10:12 PM
1

Yea I’m sure every man you’ve met makes up the entire male population lol Also, bro… you gotta stop hanging around your group of incels so much then. Somehow you think only the men you meet are real but those others encounter are imaginary 🤷🏻‍♀️

So simply put and highly accurate 😹

Whatever you’re bringing up, is a whole other topic on its own. What I’m getting from you is: Women’s increased freedom is the cause of men’s problems. If a man’s value in the dating market only existed because women had fewer rights, fewer opportunities and fewer alternatives, that’s not evidence the old system was fair. It’s evidence it was dependent on limiting women’s choices. Personally, I have quite a neutral stance on this whole gender war thingum. I’m a trad girl in a happy relationship.…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 04:10 PM
2

False. While I don’t necessarily agree with OP’s post on how men and women face the same amount of rejection, I have to disagree with your statement that low value men are incels. I have seen quite a number of cases of low value men (by societal definition: ugly, short, lowly educated, low-income, toxic) who date, have relationships, have casual sex even (ghosting girls too) and as mean as it sounds, I do wonder how the hell they even managed to get that far.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 04:02 PM
6

I think OP is just bringing across the point that men date up in terms of looks. Conversely, women tend to date up in terms of income, education etc Both genders ain’t going to a cardiologist for a broken foot.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 03:43 PM
2

Yea that’s just you buddy, and your kind of men. Guess your point is that women are generally deeper beings and a lot less shallow than men?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 10:53 AM
1

On the contrary, I'd say women have mid standards for hookups but high standards for LTR. And this is coming from a woman herself, not a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 08:21 AM
1

Ok besides telling everyone you've been having subpar sex with boring girls... this post is kinda pointless. Why would you want to gain power back over something so... unexciting?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 07:52 AM
2

By SOME women. So what, men aren’t a monolith but women are? Lol Funnily enough, this post is a post by a MAN blaming men for not having standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 07:16 AM
3

Exactly, men or women aren’t a monolith. Whatever you said, easily applies to your earlier comment as well. But since you were generalising, I did the same too.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 07:10 AM
3

On the contrary, I believe everyone does and should have certain standards. Just don’t be a hypocrite and pretend that you don’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 07:03 AM
2

You know you’re delusional if you have high standards and consistently fail to attract anyone of those standards. Otherwise, having high standards is perfectly fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 06:58 AM
1

Or… Men: I have no standards. All I want is a nice girl Also men: She’s too fat. She’s too tall for me. She’s kinda ugly. She has leg hair. She has a kid. She’s just a waitress. She doesn’t wanna have sex on the first date. She’s just not my type. Personally I believe everyone should have high standards or at least a set of standards. The question is whether they’re able to attract people of that caliber.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 06:56 AM
1

I’m generally attracted to men who are highly educated, intelligent, articulate, accomplished in their careers, gentlemanly, and have a good sense of humour. I also tend to be drawn to men who naturally take the lead in a relationship. The men I’ve dated have largely fit that description, and they’re also the provider types. Most of my relationships have come through dating apps. Because I have a fairly specific set of non-negotiables and preferences, I’m very selective about who I match with. I…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 06:48 AM
2

You’re right in the sense that by definition, dating pool refers to literally everyone who’s single and available. But going by that logic, everyone’s dating pool is everyone on the apps which renders the term “dating pool” pointless. When people say their dating pool is small, we’re referring to a group of realistic compatible matches, not just every single profile we can swipe on.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/26 02:39 PM
2

I don’t join hobby groups. And I prefer to not date friends of friends to prevent the possibility of relationship drama within cliques. Dating apps has worked out well for me, so why not?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/26 01:50 PM
2

Yea I don’t think you’re even getting the point here
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/26 06:59 AM
1

Yea, by logic the people who consistently lack matches must be the ones being too picky... unless they're swiping right on everyone
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 04:56 PM
3

And how would that test help? Actually the test would be this: If you can get matches, you’re not too picky. If you can’t, you’re too picky.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 04:27 PM
3

To be fair, I don’t think I’ve even gone through 2000 profiles lol But yea 1 out of 100 would possess all those traits + also be someone I’m physically attract to. And I also have to consider that some profiles have preferences that may exclude me from their pool. Btw when I listed those traits, I don’t simply mean “went to high school, works for a living, can speak and write, doesn’t subscribe to a religion”
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 03:28 PM
6

I firmly believe as long as you’re consistently able to attract what you’re looking for, then it’s not considered “too picky”. Let’s get real, swiping people on dating apps is often more shallow than not. Men aren’t sending likes to women they’re not attracted to just because “she seems smart and nice”. Same goes on the other side. Of course connection is important but it’s impossible to deduce or forge from just seeing a profile. Connection would come (or not) only after a match is formed. And …

I mentioned an alignment of lifestyles too. Which is harder to go into details. But yes my lifestyle is not exactly that of the average person. On my own, I travel extensively for leisure up to 8x a year and I won’t do budget travels. So that in itself already narrows my pool a lot “eliminating” people who backpack etc or don’t have the flexibility of time to. Good food is also a big part of my life and I don’t mean head to the diner to grab a bite… that also filters out vegetarians, vegans or a…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 03:04 PM

I would like alll of those traits, not just some. And of course the ones listed are the more basic non-negotiables. There are also others pertaining to lifestyle etc that I haven’t mentioned. So… no there aren’t tons of those profiles. As a woman who actually used the apps, I’d know.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 02:47 PM
1

So long as one consistently gets matches/ are able to attract what they’re looking for, even if their standards are high, they’re not overvaluing themselves. That said, those who have certain standards yet struggle to get matches and struggle with dating are indeed the ones being picky and overvaluing themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 02:38 PM

Superficial aspects: Well-educated, good career, well-written/spoken, religion (I’d prefer atheists or agnostic), pleasant looking (contrary to what most men think, not looking for chads. In fact, conventionally attractive men don’t quite appeal to me) If they have a decently put-together profile and not just unoriginal one-liners, I’d be somewhat able to suss out if we have similar values and lifestyle. True, I’ve heard the same from my friends as well. Even the men tend to turn to us female friends when they need emotional support. In my circles, girlhood is a lot stronger than bro-bro friendships. We check in on each other consistently, share our deepest thoughts and feelings, make the effort to set aside time to meet up in person regularly, and we always make it a point to celebrate each other’s special occasions/ milestones together. For the men groups they generally don’t share too much of…

Fine by me. If the men who feel LTRs aren’t worth their time and effort thus they don’t wish to, sure. Women also wouldn’t want to date men who feel that way. There will always still be men with relatively successful dating lives who don’t share that same sentiment. Women will just date them then. Win-win for both sides, no? 🤷🏻‍♀️

What?? Do you even hear what you’re asking? Why do we feel the need to know who he truly is?? So… we’re not supposed to really know the person we’re dating? Heck, let’s just all date any Tom Dick Harry then

I wouldn’t say 95% of the likes we get are garbage, but I would say most aren’t compatible. Thing is, bill splitting isn’t quite the norm for everyone. (I do know plenty of men who find it appalling to let a woman foot the bill) Different folks, different strokes. It would be more reasonable for both parties to discuss together about how the bill is going to be split while the date is being planned.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/26 11:02 AM
7

Agreed. I think people often conflate social expectations with a lack of choice. Someone else’s expectation doesn’t obligate you to act accordingly. If a man chooses to pay despite disagreeing with the expectation, that is still ultimately his decision. And if the motivation is to make a good impression or increase the chances of a second date, then it becomes a strategic choice rather than something imposed on him. There’s nothing wrong with paying or splitting. But resentment tends to arise wh…

How does men being sexually attracted to women make their lives easier?? Men are only sexually attracted and passionate towards women they find attractive. Ah, how silly of me. When you made a sweeping statement about “men,” I should’ve known you were actually referring to a carefully selected subset that only gets revealed once your original claim starts taking on water. Funny thing is, that’s not how language works. If I say “dogs bark,” people assume I’m describing dogs generally, not some niche subgroup of dogs that bark only on Tuesdays. So after all that, your argument boils down to: a few women make things harder for some men, a few men make…

See, judging a woman for having an abortion which jsnt even objectively bad, it’s just you having a negative view on it. Which is perfectly fine, to each his own. Just don’t be a hypocrite and complain when women have their supposed “high” standards too.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/26 11:05 PM

I think that’s a separate issue entirely. Standards determine who you attract/choose. Relationship skills determine whether you can keep them. You can have perfectly reasonable standards and still be a terrible partner. Likewise, you can have very high standards and be great at maintaining a healthy relationship. As for men being less picky, I’d argue that they’re often picky in different ways rather than less picky.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/26 08:13 AM

True there are women like that but frankly, just as many men are the same. I’ve seen/heard those chronically online men whine about how all they want is a nice girl but they also shun those girls for being “eew too ugly” “kinda fat” “had an abortion before” “has leg hair” “too tall for me”. Yea there’s always a possibility of lovebombing. Men who don’t spoil women can also end up being an asshole. In fact are many possible outcomes to any relationship. You can’t control how a man chooses to act… there will always be good and bad eggs but you should have a certain level of discernment in how you pick a partner.

Your post literally doesn’t mention anything about education. You barely even mentioned looks LOL In fact you mentioned men go for ambition… which I can assure you most of my female friends and I have NONE. I don’t even believe in having a job. I literally could be an average looking cashier now and it wouldn’t bother my partner. Who cares what my prior resume looks like? Essentially your post is just a pointless mishmash rant of how you feel men are assholes. Wonder why you’re so bitter…….
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/26 06:29 AM

As mentioned, it’s about the men you encounter and interact with. What I know, is what is evident in my reality. I don’t think badly about men in general just because some other woman says so. If you’re one of those who goes “all men are scum”, “men are the same” then it really would be hard for a man to love you for who you are.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/26 06:22 AM

Your point? Lol Fyi, I was/am unemployed (for a long time) and had zero income when I met my partner. None of my partners have ever cared if I even made money, much less good money. So if anything, it’s the complete opposite of proving your point.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/26 06:18 AM

How “rare” they are is dependent on the world you live in. Culturally, or even the social circles you keep. Naturally if you’re around assholes or 50/50 men (not saying it’s a bad thing, to each his own) all the time, then yea to you such men would be considered a rare breed. Errr… what a strange take. Some do, some don’t. My partner, exes, and almost all the men in my social group don’t care about a woman’s income. And contrary to what you believe, they don’t expect women to cook and clean either. Oh and they’re farrr from broke or being assholes. Some men just simply adore their partner and have the means to spoil them. Yes yes it’s hard to believe but men like them do exist even if rare.

You want the same things women have, then go find a way to make your genitals bleed a week every month. Then you can have that same supposed menstruation party you claim society celebrates for women. Newsflash: celebrating any age is a birthday… whether 8, 18 or 80. And people already do that.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 03:35 PM

Celebrated by society for what? For reaching adulthood? Turning 18? Just so you know, that’s called a birthday. It’s common to celebrate those for both men and women. But I highly doubt you can convince the majority population to celebrate random guys having their first wank.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 03:24 PM

Ok, then just tell your parents you’d like a party thrown for you when you grow your first pube. As an Asian, I literally don’t know anyone who was celebrated for starting menstruation. What in the world 🙄

I'm confused. Aren't they already self-serving? Why are we acting like one gender is being noble and selfless here? Men/women already can and do what they want. And women/men can choose how they wish to respond. No obligations on either side.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/26 06:57 PM
1

I could ask the mirror question then- Is a woman wanting a hot guy a lot to ask for? The answer should be the same. Also, if men think they have to do a ton of RiDiCuLoUs shit to be considered as a partner, don't do it. No one's forcing 'em.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/26 03:44 PM

They literally talk about how they always get ghosted once a man finds out how they look like. Those men dm them in the hopes that they’re pretty girls who are simply insecure lmao

So essentially you’re saying women end up the lonely miserable ones. Tell that to OP 🙃
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/26 10:10 AM
5

It’s stupid equating lack of sex with loneliness. If that’s the case, then go hit on a woman who’s short, obese and ugly. Or go pay for a prostitute. Loneliness solved. No? The “problem” with “lonely men like you” is that you can’t get the pretty girl who goes 50/50 but takes care of you, births your kids and does chores for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/26 09:55 AM

Yknow what I find amusing? People who claim to dislike the opposite sex while making them the subject of every second thought. If women are so terrible, why is your entire online presence a running commentary on them? If men are so awful, why are they occupying so much of your mental real estate? At a certain point, it stops looking like hatred and starts looking like fixation. Hatred isn’t the opposite of obsession, indifference is. Women can become very irrational when we’re in love. We ignore obvious red flags and justify things we’d normally question. We often see what we want to see and downplay things that don’t fit the narrative we’ve built. Blind to our own patterns in dating and relationships. We can also be very quick to label men’s behaviors as red flags but slower to reflect on our own patterns or inconsistencies in what we say versus how we respond in real relationships.

This I would agree with. Both men and women are superficial in different aspects.

Hmm interesting take. At least where I’m from, men value physical appearances more than women do. It’s also quite the norm to see a pretty girl with an average or below-average looking guy.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 09:04 PM

So they claim to want attractive girls but would be willing to settle for someone they’re not physically attracted to?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 08:56 PM

Pretty sure majority of men would rather be labeled as a “simp” by you than forgo a wonderful love/sex life cuz frankly, it wouldn’t make a difference what a random Redditor thinks of them.

Nooo thank you for sharing this much! Honestly, dating is already hard for most people even under “normal” circumstances, so I can only imagine how much harder it feels when you’re also dealing with social anxiety on top of that. Props to you for still trying anyway for as long as you did. That kind of persistence in itself isn’t small, even if it doesn’t feel like it’s paid off the way you wanted. I don’t think I can sit here and tell you I know what the future looks like for you, but I also do…

I'm from Asia, so it's an eye-opener to know what it's like for others on the other side of the globe! Yes, genuine/physical attraction cannot be negotiated. But do you think they can be grown into?

I can’t fully understand what it must feel like to go through that for so long, but I’m genuinely sorry you’ve been carrying all of this and feeling this alone. At the same time, I think it might help to separate what’s happened to you from the conclusions you’ve had to make about yourself and about women in general. When you’ve had a lot of negative experiences in a row, it’s really easy for the mind to start turning that into a fixed explanation like “this is just how it is for me” or “people …

Man, sorry for your horrible experiences. Do you think it’s possible that it’s not just about “attracting a certain type of woman,” but also that there’s a kind of familiarity in the dynamic you’ve described so without realising it, it might feel more natural or understandable to connect with women who have certain emotional patterns, even if those patterns aren’t actually good for you long-term? It makes sense that changing your lifestyle and becoming fitter would shift how people respond to you socially... those first impressions definitely matter more than people like to admit. I do agree with your point about there being a line between practical, helpful advice and some of the more extreme systems or ideologies people get pulled into online. Ngl, appearance definitely plays a part in dating, whether man or woman. Based on my own experience, I have definitely been attracted to conventionally "unattractive" men because of their personalities, humor etc but yes it is difficult to get to that stage when the physical traits itself prevent you from getting in that door

I think you're off to a good start in the sense that you do put yourself out there and that people enjoy talking to you! I honestly think I look average. Defo there will be people who think I'm ugly but thankfully to most men I'm decently attractive. To …

While I don't like the idea of rating people's looks... Do you think these issues arise because 5/10 men want 8/10 women while 5/10 women are also aiming for 8/10 men? And both genders struggle because everyone (of course I'm using the term everyone loosely) only want to date the top percentile. From my observations, yes both men are women are superficial to an extent. But men tend to focus more on physical appearances than women. I may be wrong idk... curious what your take it.

Gotta be honest... I'm still not versed in what redpill/mgtow really encompasses. Curious... Do you detest women or are you just indifferent to them? I can understand why you'd feel frustrated. Reading this, what stands out isn't a lack of effort, but how much effort you've actually put in over the years. I'm sorry that despite your best efforts, people still make comments that come across as dismissive. I also think a lot of dating advice comes from survivorship bias. Would you think it's fair for the unattractive girls not to be attracted to you the same way you're not attracted to the ugly girls? Like I do see how many men complain that women are superficial and only want to date the handsome tall ones. But those men themselves don't wish to date the unattractive girls either. Is there a double standard there? Btw I don't mean for this to come across offensive or anything, just objective.

Thanks for sharing so much. I find your case quite interesting and out of the norm- going to a homeless shelter finding someone who is with you for the life that you can provide them. Are people like you able to read? I stated that as ONE of the possible reasons. The other possibility also being they have not met many good people. As mentioned in my other comments, everything we've all stated here aren't cold hard facts. They're beliefs based on personal experiences and what we've observed in our individual worlds. Sure there are men like you who may have gotten bullied for your looks and I'm not invalidating that but that doesn't make it the universal truth.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 08:22 PM

Then those short guys you mentioned are the wrong ones to back up your argument. Because it’s unlikely that women hate them. I’m 156. 175 is indeed average. Character, personality, morals, intellect on point though. I’ve dated men below average, in the 1.6+ bracket but I’m not with them not because they’re short, but as mentioned, due to issues in their character. I’m not going to date a short man (with questionable personality) just to prove my belief that women don’t hate short men.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 02:53 PM
2

So we’re shifting goal-posts now eh, saying women hate short men then saying short guys can also be hot (which no one has assumed otherwise btw) And nowww your “theory”applies only to college aged people. My partner is 1.75m. You gotta understand that such “truths” aren’t universal. They’re not facts, they’re personal beliefs. Just like how what I feel overall about this topic is a belief, not the cold hard truth

Ok then, let’s change it to “ugly” women. And yes, they were short LOL Also, all my short male friends are either married or happily attached. So yea perhaps we’ve witnessed vastly different experiences. On this subreddit, more than shortmen-“haters”, I see plenty more men who hate on women for all sorts of reasons and think that the only reason for their struggles/failures is their lack of height.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/26 11:18 AM
2

As much as men “hate” women who are fat. I personally don’t think they hate though. They’re all just personal preferences but I’d think most women would be with a good man as opposed to one who’s tall. Idk. I’ve dated men who are, by societal standards, average/ below average on paper. And turned out to be the worst experiences cuz they came with pretty subpar character as well.

I think people would be open to be sensitive to the “weak men” without having to date them. Just as much as they (straight people) are sensitive to the LGBT community without wanting to be in a “gay” relationship. Those “weak men” you’re referring to perhaps have certain traits that are undesirable to many. You claim they shouldn’t have to change who they are, sure. At the same time you shouldn’t also expect people to change what they find desirable.

If effort had no effect on attraction, then there’d be no difference between someone who is attentive, thoughtful, and engaged versus someone who barely replies and never makes time. Looks and sociability can influence initial attraction, sure. But attraction isn’t a static switch that flips on day one and never changes. I don’t think putting in less effort is what attracts women. In many cases, we women are able to discern between men who are performing in an attempt to impress versus men who are simply being genuine. Almost everything people do while pursuing someone can technically be categorised as “trying to impress”… whether that’s planning dates, sending good morning texts, buying flowers, or making time despite a busy schedule. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that. The difference is whether those a…

Given the not-so-pleasant experience you went through, I’d think you would have more reason to be against such dynamics. Your perspective is all the more intriguing. Exactly. Even men who have a thing for young girls would not want their daughters dating a much older man. Probably because they know what men in that position of power and authority are capable of. While not every one of those huge age gap relationships is unhealthy, more often than not, it is. And we tend to err on the side of caution. That’s a false equivalence though. Society doesn’t grant rights based on someone being perfectly mature or never naive… otherwise plenty of adults wouldn’t qualify either. I don’t think people really frown upon 40yo men dating 30yos so exactly how large is the age gap you’re referring to? It’s not really a test. Offering is good manners and also respecting that not every man is happy to cover his date’s share of the bill. To be upfront may lead to more pretense on the guy’s end. He may feel pressured to pay for the date or subsequent ones even if he’s the 50/50 type just because he’s attracted to her.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/26 11:53 PM

Yup, this. Thought people would be open-minded enough to know there isn’t just one right way to live life

That’s true! They don’t want financial contributions cuz they have an abundance of money but I’ve noticed that they’re really quite simple men. In the sense that all they want is someone loving to come home to, who dotes on them instead of always being critical and naggy, and just being supportive of them and what they do

Haha yea I would think no one cares but you should see the tirades some people go on with regards to this 😂

Yea I have no interest in his assets or joint accounts. If we do break up, it’ll just be like any other breakup. Because we have dynamics that are pretty much like any other relationships (aside from the fact that he pays for everything), it’s other people who tend to view it very differently because of amount of finances involved.

Damn... sorry you went through such an ordeal :/ And it's really cool that you shared so much with me, I like knowing bits about people's life stories and how it got them to a certain state of mind. Fully with you on this. In all these scenarios, people immediately zoom in on money like its the core foundation of relationships etc. when money is just the additional perk. I may regret many things in life but I don't think I'll ever regret not having a job and taking years off to do things I love …

Oooh legitimately never knew that. In fact I hardly ever hear the word mistress being thrown around anymore.

If you're not and they expect it, then they simply aren't the right one for you. Misaligned expectations right there. And it's kinda good to know from the get-go, no? Like the norm is for women to birth children and so many men expect their women to bear their kids. My dating pool thus becomes smaller because I cannot be with those who do. Just regular dating problems we all have to deal with.

I have my own money so all good. But no, they don't give me money just to stay afloat, they know I don't need it either. Them providing is not some sort of requirement... it's what they like to do for someone they're together with

I'm not here to post pictures or share my instagram just to convince anyone this is real. If you think it's fake then sure, move along. I do these only late at night (yes it's past midnight where I am) when I don't feel like sleeping but pretty much everyone else around me is fast asleep. Defo have better things to do in the day LOL. Plus, I enjoy having thoughtful conversations with people and there are actually a hanful of people on reddit who are capable of that. If nOoNe believes me then wel…

That's true, sometimes people are fixated on their own paths that they can't begin to fathom why others would choose something different. I once had a high-paying corporate job and hated every minute of work. I do acknowledge that due to my family background and past endeavours, and also being a woman, I do have the privilege of taking the time instead to do things I enjoy instead of hustling. To me, working is means to an end. I worked in order to be able to afford to do things I love and have …

So... because I choose not to get a job I suddenly evolve from girlfriend to mistress? Hmm, interesting.

Oh? Pls explain, I'd love to hear how you define it. In every almost every relationship, there is an "exchange" of financial things and sex. By your logic, doesn't it mean every girl in a relationship is a prostitute just in different price tiers?

Not a big believer in marriage. So in that case, guess it's a win-win aye

Well frankly, my partner doesn't work much per se. He owns a company and we spend most days doing things together. When it comes to chores, we have hired help to do them.

I have considered that and tried it out for a month and as spoiled as I'm going to come across, money-wise, it really wasn't worth the hours I was putting in. I may consider re-entering the workforce in a couple years though

😹 love what you said to her, it’s funny. Also love your reminder of not leading life to please others, it’s something many of us forget at times.

True, could never deny this possibility. People usually just come at this with the prostitution angle instead lol

Ngl, I do like being taken care of. And if the man likes doing so too, we have no complaints.

Ok your point about power dynamics is something that I’d see as a logical concern. Like it occurs not overtly but more subtly

Maybe where I’m from, relationships involving more money get criticised harshly. Like if I were with a financially average man and he gets me a gift, people would be “awww so sweet” and no one bats my eyelid. But if random people were to know my man got me an expensive gift, they’d be quick to jump in with assumptions that I’m being bought or that he’d leave me when a hotter girl comes along. Not my personal experiences per se, but just some observations I’ve noticed in the dating scene

Ooof ok I guess when it comes to bigger financial decisions then perhaps more in-depth discussion should be had

Hmm, personally I’ve never really thought about contributions in such tangible or transactional terms, though I understand why people do. I tend to see relationships as more complementary than strictly equal in categories. A small example, my partner is a much more serious, structured person, especially in his work life, whereas I bring a different sort of energy- more lightheartedness, emotional support, and balance. To me, not all contributions are easily measurable, which is probably why I st…

I think I have to also disclaim that whilst I’m being fully provided for + receiving allowance as well, I’m not financially dependent on him in the sense that if the relationships end, I can survive just fine. Sold off a business, have passive income from investments, and a growing portfolio. The part that is perplexing is that all relationships are transactional in a sense (finances are always a part of it) but once the amount of money is larger, that’s when the authenticity of relationship is …

Neither of us intend on having kids, so that’s out of the question. Yes I’ve read some concerns that intellectual degradation would be a problem. But that’s based on the assumption on one just stays home and sloths all day which is far from reality. I would think that vast majority of employment consist of rote tasks rather than intellectual engagement. People gain way more growth by reading widely or diverse life experiences

Logically speaking, why though? Does a relationship with a larger bank balance and more “perks” automatically make it that much different from the others at its core?
