I'm not sure what I just read but I can assure you your family will be fine and frankly your pops will probably be proud of you. Do you even have children with this person?

"Very few of our old friends contact me" This. People in general put way to much stock in to friends... they blowing in the wind.. you clearly have a good heart man.. wish you the best.

They are extra dangerous but also extra tempting because they will say everything that you want to hear and pull every trick out of the book to make you believe

Sorry og poster -- guys this yet another shining example of the extreme importance of a prenuptial agreement that is drawn up in the right way because no one should be rewarded with this amount of money simply for being married man or woman.

Give it a year maybe two and lawyers, cpa's, hell everyone will be better off subverting most professions w ai but you could do it now.. Hell you could represent yourself pro se and probably do just as good unless your case is really serious

Friend, you're going to want to shift to 'in the best interest of the child' from here on & if you're able to get a fair-ish deal.. Spite be gone, get it done and move on.

I'm one of the anti meds if it is going to lead to you being on ssri's srni's for the next decade.. For a month or two or three.. Go for it.. That's my take regarding that.

Not enough info--- how many days a year do you have w the kids vs her? What is her income? Yours? Child support is rarely negotiable it is a cut and dry formula primarily centered around each ones income and amount of time shared.

Sure, adult children that treat parents like crap --- teenage children that miss a bday.. That's a YOU problem if you're writing them out over that.

If no one on the dating apps is hotter than your ex wife well you should know.. Never marry a 10 --- I'll take a 5.5 to 6.5 over a baddie in terms of a real relationship any day of the week but I'm also not really interested in a real relationship post divorce

that's insane. I think I understand where she gets here flip flop from and sadly it appears to be ... YOU. Cutting her out of your will because you didn't get a bday or xmas call from a teenager? c'mon.

You need to have options and you need to move on to other options. Sounds like she is more of a friend than a lover. also.. ensure you're not on any sssri's
/r/Divorce_Men13/02/25 03:42 AM

I don't how dumb you are or aren't but as a general rule of thumb dating back to middle school "promise rings" are a kiss of death.
/r/askMRP08/02/25 09:38 PM

You have oneitus and need options --- you're 26 --- the only way to maintain an ounce of dignity and respect and high value is to say fuck off b**** and download Hinge and get some options lined up.

Friends are overrated. All a man needs is two maybe three really close best friends. Just keep doing you, growing your empire and things will fall in to place.

"I make about 3x her salary. " that's not good. If she really agreed to 500 a month you should consider yourself one lucky bastard. I wouldn't be on the apps until that is finalized because you could be paying A LOT more.

og poster's ex may in fact be a narcissist but I agree it is funny how predictable it is that once a divorce starts both sides start using terms like narcissist or covert narcissist to describe the other person.
/r/Divorce_Men19/01/25 05:27 PM

be nice but don't be too nice don't be overly beta chivalrous --- you want to operate as though YOU have options -- be a nice guy but don't be so nice you come off as desperate. Coffee is a good idea, good vibe check although I never feel comfortable in coffee shops especially meeting someone for the first time, crowded and awkward.. small talk is easier over drinks or a hike around the park.
/r/Divorce_Men19/01/25 05:21 PM

You Scorpios... Always watching behind those sunglasses.. Totally agree w you being alone is the best. Takes a few years to get your mojo back typically but once it returns you're back in control of your life. Freedom.

Yes you meet them but not necessarily one on one... it's as awkward of a situation for you as it is them ... feel threatened? sure, on a subconscious level but as a former child w a "step dad" they're not shit no matter how many toys and and instagram photos of so called happiness are given/posted. They're not DAD and never will be save widow type situations. Anger? Sad? Sure. Natural. Jealous? Naw.

Enjoy. Don't worry to much about does this person match "who I want to date" but do always keep that in mind... Have fun! Do be careful though cause they will post about you in their Facebook groups and if you develop a real connection and then back out... Well... Hell hath no fury and you'll find your picture and outlandish bs posted about you

The only thing that is going to make your mental health worse is giving her everything she asks I she records you and your copitulation that you're losing your mind. Stop talking to her. Start fighting for more time.

"How long does this empty and lost feeling last?" it can last a very long time . . . 3 years it lasted for me. If you have to smoke something please know that vaping (love it or hate it) is miles better than cigarettes. nicotine patches work. zyn works.

Looking for things to attack her? No. My friend, you're not in a good position. Your wife is VERY likely projecting and you need to figure it out.

To old without kids but still "wants kids" is a red flag. It is a tough situation too because I actually find it much easier to connect w women that do have children but also I despise them because likely they broke up their family for new hotdogs.

Strange. I wish mine had been more conspiratorial minded. I suppose there is a balance to both sides... One can be to hive minded and one can be to Looney.

I always recommend paying for the full premium version of hinge ... I swear man.. just throw endless likes around and comment on a few you really like.. things will get lined up and you'll have a date every weekend if you want it. At least that was my experience.

The shit's stupid easy --- barbell work -- deadlifts, hang cleans, rdl's, barbell rows, bench press and every now and again back squat then just do some dumbbell work on a bench for your chest and maybe some Bulgarian split squats for legs -- jump rope and run a few sprints on occasion boom you're golden.

I think part of me felt like that phrase was a bit hypocritical in light of you spearheading the filing but at the same time I know it is important for men to move first in filing if the abuse is substantial and irreparable
/r/Divorce_Men22/07/24 01:24 PM

One of the best things I did for myself was avoiding ssri's or srni's during my divorce. The shit was hard, I was depressed but I got through it and am fine now.. Just have to man up and bear it unfortunately rhodiola rosea is much more powerful than ashwaganda too so I'd consider that as a basic supplement
/r/Divorce_Men04/05/24 04:47 PM
2

Went thru divorce in Nashville, rose Palermo is good for sure (you can just see the evil persona from a quick google pic) so I'd be onguard. I'd recommend my ex wife's attorney but I think he might be part of her firm haha. William K Lane iii did a great job for me.
/r/Divorce_Men23/03/24 02:45 PM

Ahh well it's noble and all you're fighting for her but it's a two way street. No children? Thank god. Life goes on, you're gonna be alright champ.

4

Buddy I've got some great news for you. She is the primary bread winner.
/r/Divorce_Men21/02/24 02:36 AM
7

This is usually because the man wants to make the woman (or vice versa) jealous. Or it is often rooted in a general spirit of "f### you" but rarely is it beneficial for the children.
/r/Divorce_Men20/02/24 01:17 AM
2

I mean she has been with the man for 3 years. If you children are basically adults or already adults I'd stop torturing yourself. If you insist. You could anonymously mail the arrest record to her.
/r/Divorce_Men15/02/24 07:19 PM

With all do respect. Not your problem. How old are your kids? If over 15.. Not your problem.
/r/Divorce_Men15/02/24 07:09 PM

100 percent agree. That said, if you had 50/50 on the table I wouldn't mess w that aspect, that is extremely fair and might be tough to regain.
/r/Divorce_Men12/02/24 02:44 AM
6

It is very important to be able to get along together on certain days for your children. If you have an ex that is relatively reasonable then you should view this as a very good thing even though it inevitably stirs up some emotions.

I avoided antidepressant medication thank god. I stopped drinking and began drinking a shit ton of non alcoholic beer. I worked for a small company for two years and went out on my own and spent another year building it to a six figure business. I then after 3 years went on dating apps and met up w ladies and did my thing but I'm not interested in any real meaningful relationship ever again. I coach my kids sports teams. Basically, the shit just takes time and being willfully selfish, no more mr…
/r/Divorce_Men05/02/24 01:21 AM

Married a medical doctor. Never again. Frankly there is a lot of nice things I can say about her but ultimately, I I think her lack of emotion was a function of her career training. Use to have her little doctor friends over multiple times a week and I'd cook for them so we could all watch their trash tv shows.
/r/Divorce_Men28/01/24 12:46 AM
2

If that works for you then great, definitely wouldn't have done it for me but each there own. I stopped drinking for two years and it was great. That said, I didn't date for two years which was also great, it would have been virtually impossible to cease from all alcohol if I was on the dating apps and courting various babes which I now am and consequently have began drinking again.
/r/Divorce_Men14/01/24 05:10 PM
6

One great way to help mitigate the drinking is w non alcoholic beers. Not the shitty budzero but find some quality non alcoholic and just drink the everliving shit out of them at night. Anything to stay away from the alcohol will pay dividends during this difficult time.
/r/Divorce_Men14/01/24 05:02 PM

That is actually true, as it stands I pay 23 dollars a month. Hell, I'll take it and view it as a victory of biblical proportion but yes I agree
/r/Divorce_Men09/01/24 04:53 AM

Made 60 grand minus 10 grand in legal fees. Benefits of marrying a high earner plus no child support. Let's just say... Very lucky.

I'm not sure the legality of it but as a locksmith owner these can be some of my least favorite and most awkward calls. I'd keep it a secret and don't mention details to the individual if you hire someone.

Damn pregnant from infidelity is truly next level fucked up. Sorry man.
/r/Divorce_Men20/12/23 03:45 AM

You should feel discarded because you were. You should get off antidepressants too when the time is right. You should focus on building yourself back from the ground up so you're okay with the demise of your marriage and are able to experience love again. I personally loved being married as well, I was not ecstatic to be single but it happened. I don't have anything scathing to say about my ex.. That said, it is vital you move on at somepoint soon.
/r/Divorce_Men18/12/23 02:56 PM

If I can get his # I might just.. Maybe a burner phone call.. I don't want my name coming up in any divorce proceedings that might be public record
/r/Divorce_Men17/12/23 05:28 AM

Yeah brother it's a real mind fuck for me because I was that husband doing the same things he is now. And this girl is a total slut though you wouldn't suspect it. She's hooked up w many! And they're just separated due to her affair! Two young kids too! Just sick. I want to tell him but honestly I also was fooled and thought she was divorced.. I feel bad.
/r/Divorce_Men17/12/23 05:10 AM

I'm not sure what the motivation is but I think for some that is definitely true

Haha what would be your first adjective?
/r/Divorce_Men17/12/23 03:32 AM

You dodged a bullet because she isn't all in on flu inoculations? I kept reading this like okay when are we going to get to the serious stuff. Yawn.
/r/Divorce_Men01/12/23 05:55 PM

I experienced this too. Family -- gone, totally silent and excluded me for awhile. Friends -- ha no where to be found except one. Family will come back around in time when the dust settles but friends are largely overrated, make sure you have one or two that you closely confide in and are for real.
/r/Divorce_Men30/11/23 02:45 AM

Curious what the early stages of your marriage were like to someone like that? Like the initial good ole days before shit got real crazy but kind of interested in the whole story. Best of luck.

/r/Divorce_Men26/11/23 06:18 AM

Same, of course, I never got the same courtesy from her or it was a very rare occasion.
/r/Divorce_Men26/11/23 01:32 AM

Yeah I think it is probably time to fully move in that direction it's just part of me is like "hell the kids are only young for so long maybe I should just do it and get the fuck out of there afterwards".
/r/Divorce_Men26/11/23 01:19 AM
9

Okay thanks, I'm on the fence. The war is over between us but now that it's clear she is seeing another person I sort of just want to gracefully bow out. I get my own tree w my kids too.
/r/Divorce_Men26/11/23 01:10 AM

I appreciate the response, she definitely is not bpd and I view it as just a good thing to do with the kids to give them a little more sense of normalcy.
/r/Divorce_Men26/11/23 01:06 AM

It sounds like you have an issue with a specific commenter or two and are now broadly generalizing the entirety of this sub. 🤷
/r/Divorce_Men24/11/23 11:00 PM
12

That's it boys, we just needed to compliment our wives more. My gosh that is astoundingly insightful. Look lady, divorce is almost ALWAYS a two way street. Issues on both sides and both sides need to reflect inwardly anytime the nuclear button is pressed.
/r/Divorce_Men24/11/23 10:45 PM
6

I'm sorry man.
/r/Divorce_Men23/11/23 04:31 PM

"monkey branching" she is probably swiping right right now on the apps or her girlfriends are bringing man after man to her because "you go girl!"
/r/Divorce_Men23/11/23 04:01 PM
13

I think many of us wish she saw on days like this that family is worth fighting for but in reality she is likely in the jungle swinging from branch to branch at an ever increasingly frantic pace seeing if any might hold up to the weight of her monkey ways.
/r/Divorce_Men23/11/23 03:43 PM
27

I am sorry to hear that. I also reflect upon my parents and my childhood. Divorce w young children is easily the most traumatizing experience any human can go through short of losing a child in my opinion.
/r/Divorce_Men22/11/23 02:39 AM
8

My ex is a neonatal physician, I wouldn't consider myself antivax and definitely not her but we both opted to avoid the covid Vax for the children so no big argument there nor would there have been one either way.
/r/Divorce_Men11/11/23 07:31 PM

Then she'll likely get her way unless you want to go to war over something akin to the flu in which case she may still get her way.
/r/Divorce_Men11/11/23 07:22 PM
0

You need to stfu about that and get it together. She does not deserve full custody of your children. We all make mistakes but don't further hurt your children with that mentality. Go buy a shit ton of non alcoholic beer and do not drink alcohol for a long time.
/r/Divorce_Men23/10/23 12:14 AM

Everytime I see a married couple with kids and the wife is a stay at home my heart just sinks for the man. Never let them do that!
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 04:19 PM
1

I am sorry to hear that. I wouldn't say things are better than when we were married, we actually had a great marriage our issues just stemmed from arguments about moving back home to the city her parents lived in and sort of spiraled from there w me not wanting to move. I lucked out big time with the income difference otherwise if I was having to pay her a ton I imagine I would be extremely bitter but things are better, it took a long time and a lot of work on my part to get my business built up…
/r/Divorce_Men22/09/23 05:21 PM

Have y'all divorced? It is the worst isn't it? Not in all cases but in mine it was just so sad and really hard on the family, children and was just hands down the heaviest darkest thing I've ever experienced.
/r/Divorce_Men22/09/23 01:02 PM

We did divorce, I don't think it was my belief in various conspiracies but more along the lines of like you said "just two different people" and honestly she made significantly more money than I and I never had any real frame or authority in the relationship but it was hard, I fought like hell, highschool sweethearts. My theories aren't really crazy, right, like "oh yeah it's a big club they're all Freemasons or members of societies burning edificaces to Moloch at bohemian grove and hanging out …

All I can say is, load your refrigerator up with non alcoholic beer immediately and do not drink another fucking drop of alcohol. Get a job or maintain a job immediately. Eat pb and j's and save your money to obtain a nicer roomier place for you and your children asap if you want 50 50 and begin being as active as possible in their lives. Do not worry about finding another partner whatsoever. You have not leveled up and won't be able to for at least two years.

Some people put a lot of stock in friends, I have like two really close friends and that's it (no enemies but not many friends). 100 percent once you have children neither party should be investing a ton of time and vacations with any group of friends except maybe once a year, it is a massive red flag if she would rather travel to Napa valley than dig her toes in the sand while junior builds sand castles. Her friends are NOT your friends, they do NOT give a shit about your family dynamic. When m…

Of course it is, this is typically what women try and do to men. Children need both parents as much as possible provided both parents have their shit relatively together within a certain spectrum.
/r/Divorce_Men30/08/23 11:16 PM
4

Sole custody is rarely good for the children and rarely given to either parent unless there are VERY substantial circumanstes of neglect, abuse, heavy drug use. I am sure you know this.
/r/Divorce_Men30/08/23 10:56 PM

What state? In mine it is very much a detached process that the judge likely doesn't even consider in any variable way other than to say "what does the calculator say based on gross income vs cost of child vs time the kids are with each parent". It's likely not going to go well for you tbh but I am not super knowledgeable w this stuff.

Yeah I'm not saying it is advisable but the whole premise of this thread is questionable legally. That said, it is something a lot of us think about when it comes to child support but once a good lawyer gets involved, runs discovery, holds depositions and brings in a forensic accountant the whole scheme can quickly unravel and cost one dearly.
/r/Divorce_Men21/05/23 05:27 PM
3

I am not an expert at this but this kind of play isn't the first ploy to avoid child support, believe me I tried it too and my accountant basically said no it won't work and will cost you more in the long run. They will absolutely look in to the business like an irs audit if they have to. The best bet would be to have someone else open the llc and receive a small fee so it is all on their tax return and you're essentially an employee but able to buy w the business checking / credit accounts.
/r/Divorce_Men21/05/23 01:41 PM
3

Yes Edit: it will go on your personal tax return so if there is ever any kind of legitimate legal action for increased support petitioning they will see it and will adjust accordingly
/r/Divorce_Men21/05/23 01:33 PM

I thought you couldn't deal on child support, at least not binding legally but only on good faith the other parent won't go after it? How do you know about the strapon info, seems like a good story there haha

Yep, everyone is setting this poor schmuck up for yet another attorney extortion and a flat out ass kicking in court. He has no case whatsoever based off of one instance where the other party didnt respond, a far cry from child abandonment and not only is he asking for something reasonable like that of increased parenting time he wants the full shebang of sole custody. He will get blasted if he goes before a judge with only this one issue.
/r/Divorce_Men24/01/23 01:15 AM
-2

Uh it takes a lot more than someone not responding to one instance via text and can easily fabricate a response as to why that happened. You will spend money and get no where based on what ive read thus far, youre still in the documenting phase and that is just one relatively minor thing to take note of-- just my opinion

Right now your options are very few and next to nothing other than to continue the status quo and document everything if you want to be about that action at a later date. I would try and continue living your best life, being super dad and make an effort to get "unblocked" since you all have children together and this will also show the judge that you made numerous efforts to be able to have free access to communicate about the children with one another.

I would put it more at 3 years to be honest but everyones different. It is dispicable to me when there are two young souls involved and a woman won't buckle down and focus on the family and getting things reconciled but also won't end things at the same time while leaving the family and man in a quasi state of compounding trauma. Good luck, i went through a similar prolonged seperation desperately desiring to have restoration, many of us did and many of us did not achieve it. that's good because frankly it should and is and something I'm also dealing with in terms of fearing is nect for my children. feel free to message me anytime, I'm in a similar position but a bit further in the process then you're .. yeah it's a good question with the worst behind you now -- attornies are necessary but they also play both sides and work together to bill more and it turns in to a shit show by their own design more often than not yet are still needed. it's all very frustrating.

Mine basically moved our family to live 5 min from her mom and dad to appease them and let them raise our children -- it was like, why are we following your parents? They can follow us. A good relationship with dad is good but sometimes it can be too much.
/r/Divorce_Men01/05/22 05:42 PM

They and we always follow our parents upbringing and pattern they layed out almost to a T unless it is recognized and the norms are concertively subverted. It's like a generational curse.

A good attorney would likely characterize it as 'substance abuse' which is ambiguous and could mean cocaine or some serious illicit drug which is what my ex did to me when it was just a little weed at the end of the night -- well played nonetheless I'd advise doing the same
/r/Divorce_Men13/04/22 03:09 AM

I understand and it certainly doesn't hurt to mention it, she'd do the same to you I'm sure. best of luck to you sir -- it's a brutal process even when both parties are relatively rational things can still get sideways pretty quick.
/r/Divorce_Men13/04/22 03:06 AM

weed and CBD aren't really considered "drugs" anymore and will not really go to far in a court room unless she's hot boxing the car w the kids in it
/r/Divorce_Men13/04/22 02:56 AM

you're about to be in a massive custody battle -- your lawyer will whip you in to shape in quick order otherwise you will not get any relevant time w your children and will simealtounesly pay enormous sums of income because your current work schedule isn't great.. I'm not trying to be rude -- he's going to have you switch jobs asap and begin the fight, I wouldn't worry about revenge right now.

haha well when you have children together than the idea of a clean break, never see each other again, both parties choices from divorce forward are just willy nilly whatevs isn't really rooted in reality. that said, it was an observational pondering of why they do it not some panties in a wad kind of thing.

They can still come after you for fraud, embezzlement, deceit regarding finances even if the dollar amount in a crypto account can't be determined. I can honestly say it absolutely makes a difference for me regarding the rosea .. Two capsules on an empty stomach in the morning and I'm able to noticeably handle shit more easily as well as physical stress from lifting weights, like, I can definitely tell it does something and I don't always have that knowing with herbs and things. I'd highly recommend trying it out for a week or two and see if it illicits positive fruit for you.

sorry to hear that but I appreciate the realness of your post. save money try and move closer to a bigger residence to illicit a material change of circumstance and modify the decree if possible especially if you're somehow able to make yourself more available to pick up and care for the kids. on a personal level, take rhodiola rosea in the morning and begin lifting weights and exercising / running sprints in the morning.

Yeah it's definitely what I recommend for men going through divorce especially if they're prone to turn too alcohol as a past time which is extremely damaging. I've had to cease blazing during my custody hearing period but honestly it's a thousand times better than anything out there in terms of substances. as long as you relegate it to the end of the day I see it as an extremely positive tool for introspection and reflection. the only down side is that it will take away your ability to dream at night for the most part. former indica user as well here.

thank you for responding. I don't have any kind of mental health issue whatsoever -- we are Seperated and have been for some time. This idea that someone can just seemlessly transfer large funds to a cold crypto wallet is beyond dangerous even if done correctly. I think the only more difficult thing would be losing a child to death. Developed a wicked alcohol addiction for one at least early on but managed to overcome it and am sober now. Down payment came from the sale of our previously owned home which was in both our names and she took the proceeds from. Just saying if it is I could use that to be contentious about ubless I get my simple request of 50/50? Idk, I'd have to talk to the attorney of course. See this is why I'm thinking 12 days which is essentially 60 40 may not be a terrible option but my state is also a 50 / 50 state from what I understand and the attorney keeps telling me I can get that

I mean, she bought a house which would be joint property right? That's not particularly brilliant but see this is why I think maybe the 12 day acceptance is better than a big 50/50 battle

We don't have any temporary custody orders. We just take turns w the kids however I have talked to my attorney about the status quo concern and he said it's not an issue.. You had them for three years she had them for one and you were always still involved so just get some more time off work, start taking them to and from school some more and it will be okay. True, I think it's just frightening going up against a children's doctor when you're a basic lowly Locksmith however I have made 50/50 the primary priority and am still headed that direction I just am skeptical I can get it because I'm subconsciously conditioned to believe the man always gets railroaded however my attorney thinks we will absolutely get it. Perhaps a moment of weakness on my part here today.

Thank you for your response! Yes, we both have different lawyers and we both want to avoid court.. I hope to leverage money to get 50/50. So far we have a really good relationship. Was just at her house unlocking a door the kids had locked on accident, was over there for Xmas morning and we communicate freely to one another about all important things.. (we were high-school sweethearts and our families are all deeply connected so it's unlikely to go super sideways provided I am kind and cordial).…

thank you for response sir, I appreciate that and way to go gaining custody. I'm definitely not a junky, may have smoked to much weed during our marriage but have been totally sober for a year. I'm definitely involved, coach my daughters basketball team, sons tball team and get the kids often during our seperation.. I've just been so scared ever since she filed because I mean, she's a highly specialized doctor and I am a lowly Locksmith so I just keep thinking I'm doomed. It's a no fault divorce…

Im living this right now but a little reversed. Wife's a doctor I was a stay at home w some trust income supporting us during her residency.. I keep telling her I really want 50/50 but she sort of freaked about it the other night and said "well I'd give you 12 days a month.." idk I can just feel it brewing .. I don't even want child support I just want things set up so I have 50/50 even tho I likely will let the kids stay w her disproportionately until a new man is in the house at least. I basic…

What's the deal with that motive wise? Money?

That's a tough one, I wouldn't know what to do in that situation. My stbx is a neonatal doctor and I'm antivax (not all but for some and particularly covid) but it hasn't been an issue for us. I of course don't want or see the need for the kids to be covid vaxxed but apparently she doesn't really either. It hasn't been a big issue between us and I'm thankful for that but I yield to her for all medical choices anyways so whatever.

That's something a woman would do. Don't stoop to such a level man.

I smoked a lot of weed too..definitely a thousand times better than alcohol which I also ended up medicating with but no doubt sobriety is the way to go. That said, if someone had to lean on something I'd advise it to be weed over alcohol or Xanax and so forth

For me 1) use kind words and don't lash out 2) avoid alcohol 3) follow my career path unashamedly even if it means I won't have the most glorious title or make a ton of money For her 1) she needs to not be on snapchat and capable of not Instagramming all night when getting home 2) open honest dialogue and joint decision making 3) needs to recognize that friends are friends, often not "our" friends, won't be w you in the retirement home or by your death bed and don't get to have much input on our…

I'm sorry to hear that. This divorce stuff is so insanely brutal and traumatic for everyone involved and that's the worst when a former spouse is planting seeds in the kids minds about you.

What happened that went so bad to desire in hindsight to give in to most of her demands?

It's in the lawyers interest to keep this stuff going until the client says "no, stand down" Good advice

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
