This. This is exactly what I did. After about 3 months of just doing what I want (hitting the gym 4AM every morning, eating healthy, leaving the house without checking in with her, picking up new hobbies, spending more time with friends etc) she started coming around. She started hitting the gym with me, then going on her own. Her mood drastically improved around me and the sex in our relationship slowly but surely started coming back. After about 13 months total, I was making huge gains mentall…

This is a divorced men sub, not a red pill sub. I'm sure there are some women here that can offer advice based on their view of things.

Ok good! 7k isn't the end of the world. I was worried we were talking about $500k or north of that. I just don't like the way that your lawyer let this through....it gives a judge a little too much grey area to interpret to his/her liking. I like to eliminate a judge's discretion as much as possible when it comes to splitting community assets.

All stock granted or possessed prior to November 30, 2020 shall be split 50% HUSBAND and 50% WIFE. That sentence right there implies that the future payment is guaranteed. In law speak this is what they would call an "explicit obligation to deliver" as there are no clauses that give you an out. This would be similar to trying to quit your job and say that you can't afford your alimony payments. A judge is likely to impute the payments anyway. I had a friend in a similar situation. His ex sued fo…

Unfortunately, she has a very solid argument (not saying that she would win) that due to an action taken by you, her future guaranteed payments have been forfeit. I'm very surprised there wasn't a clause written in here that would absolve you of responsibility for the current market value of those shares if you were to quit. You need to get with your lawyer ASAP on this. In the end, the way this is interpreted will be up to the judge.

Sounds like her new husband is gonna have to bust his ass to make up for the vanishing alimony payments. How much do we want to bet that she leaves him within the next 12 months when he cant support her lifestyle.

Imagine receiving $144,000 a year in free money all because you left your spouse. In some parts of the country, you could live like royalty on that kind of allowance. Sorry about your luck, OP. But congrats on making it out the other side and being done with this shit.

I am about 6 months post divorce after a 16 yr relationship / married for 13 yrs. My ex used to do this shit all the time....if we would argue while dating she would threaten to break up, when we would argue when married she would threaten to move back home or threaten divorce. I just started dating again, and this is now one of my many deal breakers. Any threats of leaving will be met with me showing her the door. Full stop. I will not walk on egg shells for a woman again for the rest of my lif…

Look, I get where you're coming from. But I'm going to be real here. Posting shit on social media is a weak man bitch move. All it will do is affirm her lack of respect for you. Thats why you're here in the first place. She didn't have any respect left for you. If you want revenge, work on yourself. Get your ass to the gym, eat right, build your career, get hobbies. My wife left me because she lost all respect for me. And it was deserving. I became a boring fat slob over the years. Now I'm 43, i…

As everyone said keep your mouth shut. And for the love of god, do NOT show off any of your new expensive toys on social media.

"Keeping the family stable for the kids" = "You stay here and make all the money and support the family while I go out and get dicked down by a fucking warlock." Dude, cut and run. ASAP.

I just got a huge post deleted by the mods at survivinginfidelity because it was a "saga" I guess? No shit its a saga. I just found out my wife has been fucking a married dude that lives two blocks away from me. Oh well.

I actually should have known better about a year ago when she gave me the "I love you but I'm not in love with you" speech. The next day she said she didnt mean it and I believed her. If I had known then what I know now....

That's a hack fucking therapist. Sorry man.

There's not a chance in hell that a real therapist would advocate chore play by giving a list to her patient to pass along to her husband. Are you sure she actually went to a therapist or was that a line of bullshit?

Sounds like we are in similar situations. Our house has gone up nearly $1M since we purchased it in 2015. She cant afford to refinance and buy me out...I probably could, but theres not a chance in hell I'm paying her $500k so I can stay in a house that I neither want nor need. Also, I dont think either one of us wants to walk away from a half million dollar payday. Shes very proud and protective of her business, and technically I own half of her half of the company. Knowing her, theres not a fra…

That was actually the first thought that came to mind....like it all makes sense now.

That's my fear. I want her to be amicable, and if I mention the affair she'll likely lawyer up.
/r/Divorce_Men03/05/22 04:05 PM

Understood. I was leaning towards filing now just to get the house on the market before the values tank. Neither one of us can afford to refinance the other out of it, so it should be a simple sell and split. Being nice and amicable should be easy. I'm not even angry about her affair. I'll probably continue to keep the fact that I know about it under my hat until everything is finalized.

The "cash out to crypto and leave the country" is actually a quite viable option. Buddy of mine got divorced last year after 21 years married (married at 22, divorced at 43), with 3 kids over 18 and out of the house. He made very good money working in tech, but unfortunately his wife cheated and monkey branched after his last child moved out. She was a stay at home mom to the kids for the near entirety of the marriage and she was awarded lifetime alimony to the tune of about $5k a month. He cash…

You're right...that's not at all how this works. With $200k equity I'd say fine...take it all, but you get nothing else...no additional payout, no alimony, nothing.

Similar situation for me, but even a bit more so. Ex and I bought our house in 2015, and in that time the area in which we live has gone from rural to super-desireable-tech-hotbed. Since 2015, our house tripled in value....leaving us with over a million dollars in equity. Both us us have decent jobs, but in the end neither one of us wanted to refi cash out half a million dollars to get the other one out of the house. We have no kids and neither of us wanted to stay in a house this large by ourse…

But I've seen people like you do this for a month or two, lose like 20 lbs, and stop, thinking that things are all better when they are not. This is me. I've done this so many times before. Drop 20 lbs...wife becomes more physically attentive...stop doing the work....shit goes back to normal. Let's be honest here. You have to lose 100 lbs. It's going to take you a damn long time. At least 100lbs. I visited with a dietician today. I was given a goal of 110 lb loss. This is why you really need to …
