I'm uncomfortable with the demonisation of 'straight white men' that you see in some corners of the internet (lookin' at you, Tumblr), and I absolutely sympathise with the backlash against that rhetoric. I also agree that in a micro sense, people shouldn't be reduced to and analysed based on their physical attributes - it's not right to assume that one person's problems are less valid because of the colour of their skin. I can't say I really see it happening out in the 'real world', however. Fro…

Logic dictates that for every single mother there's a 'single father' (whether or not he participates in the child rearing) who impregnated her. The argument you present against single mothers (special bond) could equally apply to them. A baby is supposed to be a special connection between man and wife. Sure, if you're into that shit. But there are lots of ways to structure the raising of children; just because you personally favour one way doesn't mean that it's 'supposed to be' that way. Not e…

That's not the same at all. When you "come across" those men, do you experience arousal such that, if possible, you would fuck them? If I were single and I felt so inclined? Possibly, yes. I'm not quite sure what you're getting at here. The only difference I perceive for men and women in the scenario you set out is intensity of frustration (which I concede) - and I don't see how that relates to the question of male vs female hypergamy, which you originally seemed to be getting at. On the whole, …

I've never met a woman who passes men she wants to fuck more than her bf every single day. How could you possibly know this? From my own experience, I frequently come across men who could objectively be considered more physically attractive than my SO (don't get me wrong, subjectively they got nothin' on my SO, but I'm obviously biased there). 'Wanting to' doesn't mean you 'will' go there with someone, though - for both men and women. They just don't seem to care much about finding other guys to…

Nowadays they've expanded the definition so much that you could easily accidentally rape someone. This is such a problem with the modern rhetoric surrounding the issue of rape. The discourse has become somewhat irrational. While I think it's important to have an open dialogue about these things, we need to make sure that the law in practice is equitable to both parties, and that we're judging a situation based on hard facts and not what one person eventually comes to feel about something.

How would your response change if this comment had come from a woman? It's not like women in general don't share such a sentiment.

Your first two points against anorexic models can be equally applied to obese models. Both anorexia and obesity are physically and psychologically damaging. Neither condition is one we should be promoting, period. Although obesity is unhealthy, I believe that being 280 pounds is nowhere near as unhealthy as having anorexia To be honest, seeing 280 pounds written on paper doesn't mean much to me, but when I look at Tess Munster, I know instinctively that she's unhealthy. I'm seeing numerous heart…

Don't reckon they would. Approaching the 'overweight' threshold maybe, but not obese. But of course, the BMI scale is the devil as far as fat acceptance activists are concerned.

One, you live near grocery stores and 2, you know you have access to food so you don't need to eat shitty fast food. This is such a tired and lazy excuse. Fair enough, you might not be able to afford a gold-plated, ready-to-eat bag of organic wheatgrass at your local Wholefoods, but it's not that difficult to eat the right foods on a tight budget. Fast food vs cheap cuts of basic meat and frozen veg - that's a choice people make, and it doesn't come down to cost.

Reasonable feminists aren't trying to force everyone to lust after fat women. They just want fat women and the men who do like them to be left in peace. As a feminist, I don't identify with the fat acceptance movement at all. I don't buy that the aims of the fat acceptance faction are as innocuous as you claim. What I take issue with is the notion that it's discriminatory to call out obesity as harmful. I've quite often seen very valid objections to - for example - models like Tess Munster being…

I can see what you're getting at with the idea of being supportive, but I don't think unconditional submission is the way to make a man feel 'competent and needed'. There are other ways to show respect to your partner.

Working together to come to decisions doesn't have to cause disharmony. Setting aside the need to be 'right', if both parties approach a decision in a mature way and are willing to look at each option objectively, it's entirely possible to have your relationship work this way.

... I don't really understand the point you're trying to make here. What's your beef, exactly? I didn't claim that I was presenting anything other than my opinion. And at that, my opinion doesn't mean any less than the people who do consider it a big event. Their opposite opinion doesn't trump mine, and I'm not suggesting my own trumps theirs - that's not how 'opinion' works. There IS no single objective answer to a question like this. It's inherently subjective, and what I did above was present…

The other men do not represent sexual objectives. But why are women more culpable than men for what you see as a lie they both engage in? No. I don't see how it differs. I'm going to assume you don't have a counterargument. Can't see how you manage that one. It's not a "misunderstanding", it's propagated through culture by a variety of means, and academia with fallacious social science nonsense. Well can you cite an example of this intentional 'lie' in active action? This is all very abstract.

I agree that women have internalised some ways of thinking about themselves, but today those things can be quite easily unlearned. I certainly don't think women today are are taught to be dependent on men - unless you're talking about the kind of woman who absorbs herself exclusively in glossy, vapid magazines. I've always had quite a strong awareness that my life was my own. I don't believe the argument can rightfully be made that women today aren't brought up with some degree of this independe…

Yeah, that brand of feminism is doing women more harm than good, IMO. It's a worrying trend. It's not helpful at all to tell people they're victims who aren't able to look out for themselves.

Established thought and its supporters Right, and it also includes plugged in men - the 'before' version of the men we're talking about. If no one's really aware that something is a 'lie' to the point that you yourself are a participator in it, how can you rightfully be angry at everyone else when you change your mind about things? Isn't that a bit like getting viciously angry at people in the 60s for thinking smoking wasn't harmful? They're not, but they're (on the whole) untrustworthy and aber…

Oh. I actually agree with your sentiment then. Perhaps you mean that women are perceived as having a lack of agency, when that's not necessarily the case? If so, I concur. I think that's a huge problem with the kind of feminism that seeks to 'protect' women from any real or imagined harm.

I get that impression, and I think it's doing your community credit, it's set a good tone. The actions of the other faction are speaking louder than their words. I'm glad people seem to have figured out what's up, even if a lot is being left unsaid.

It is co-dependent to value the opinion of someone else above all else Is that the dictionary definition of clinical co-dependence, or just your uninformed opinion? And who said anything about belittling or name-calling? That sounds like a rather desperate and unfair attack tactic. You're making huge logical leaps. Again, I don't even identify as RPW, but I have never seen them advise to accept name calling and abuse. Do you have a link to these allegations? You're fighting a straw man.

Coming from someone who's not RPW, it's by no means 'everyone'. You're making an unfair assessment. It's not 'co-dependent' to have something you value above all else. I share her view - my relationship is of prime importance to me, because it's fulfilling and a large part of my happiness/contentment is derived from it. I pity the person who wouldn't guard that.

I don't know. I wouldn't advise it as a long term goal, but I think 'knowing how to be alone' can be a valuable attribute in relationship. If you know who you are and what you value in life you're less likely to mess other people around.

Who should this anger be directed at, though? Why are particular women responsible for what some see as a collective 'lie' (if that's what you think it is) participated in by the whole of society? Women aren't 'lying' when they say they 'like nice men'; at worst, they're unaware of the subtle differences between 'nice' and 'fuckable' - as are the men getting angry at them. Who and what are they angry at, in precise terms? It seems irrational to me to get angry about a collective societal assumpt…

Doesn't this question depend a great deal on what your frame of reference for 'femininity' is? I try to live by certain ideals, and on the whole I think I'm quite feminine - but probably in a different way to how some of the RPW ladies on here are describing their own femininity. What's the bar? I don't exclusively wear dresses and cook all day. The scope of my caring and nurturing is generally limited to those I care about (i.e., it's not directed at just any rando). The label 'feminist' really is fairly meaningless these days, because what one person thinks of a feminist could be vastly different from anther's interpretation (I imagine this is the case with TRP too). I think it's more that reality posits the (entirely un-radical) idea that women are people, and that's why TRP doesn't like it - because they previously put women up on pedestals only to realise that's not where they belong.

I went over the abortion choice thing in my last comment. You haven't this addressed at all. It should. Again, we're not dealing with 'shoulds'. We're dealing with musts. Ideally, women would pay for raising the child alone; but sometimes women can't afford this, and for the benefit of the CHILD, we need to turn to the other responsible party.

Well, yes. That's the point. It doesn't have to be this way Yes, but. That's what reality is. It IS that way. The law should change. I was referring more to biology when I talked about unfortunate reality. It's an unfortunate reality that unwanted pregnancies sometimes occur. Generally people aren't okay with leaving innocent children to fend for themselves, so the law makes up for that as best it can by mandating that SOMEONE has to help them. It's her choice, not his. He made the choice to hav…

Yes, but at the same time, a lot of women who ARE in work and who ARE otherwise responsible find themselves pregnant unexpectedly. In the vast majority of cases, they're already working to feed their kid and just need a bit of extra help. Don't get me wrong, I don't like welfare bums either. My point is that single mothers aren't universally, and on the whole probably usually aren't, in that category. In any case, let's keep it real here. It's a really, really tricky subject. I'm personally okay with abortion, and I'd get one in that situation without too much distress. But I recognise that other people, men and women alike, are very much against abortion, and it simply wouldn't be an option for them. For them, it's a much more difficult choice than 'do it or don't; easy'. It's a much bigger burden for them, and it's not as simple for them. Again, that's why I think the best rule of thumb is just to use a condom - bypass that pos…

/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/15 04:34 PM

Sure can. What's your point? The point is that if you don't wear one, you're opening yourself up to the possibility of pregnancy, and at that point you need to be held accountable for your actions.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/15 04:30 PM
3

Why? How is a single instance of unprotected sex somehow equal to an 18 year financial burden? They're not equitable at all, I agree. But at the same time, it's just an unfortunate reality. It's a high price to pay, but it's part of taking responsibility for your actions. Yes you can. It's called abortion. Women do it all the time. Yes, they do. But some don't, and then we have a problem.

I think a condition of continuing state support should be mandatory birth control, preferably in the form of the implant. It certainly shouldn't be automatic. If the mother wants the baby and for some reason can't support it herself, given that unwilling fathers don't get a say (beyond taking responsibility for their own contraception on the first place - slap a condom on it if you're unsure) in whether they bring a kid into the world, it seems unfair to force them to pay for it. On the other ha…

MFM gang bangs are way more common than FMF gang bangs. I have to disagree. I think female sexuality is a lot more fluid than male sexuality, and allows for more FMF situations. I mentioned before that I've never heard of any MFM gang-bangs occurring among people I know, but I know a number of FMF threesomes have happened. I believe they're actually fairly common. How is this NOT an example of how social constructs work? A social construct is something that's been brought about by societal conditioning. This fits that bill exactly. For one reason or another, it's not seen as the 'norm' for women to do the asking, and hence it doesn't happen as often. If it were down to biology and inherent to maleness, why do so many men also seem to lack the confidence to do the asking?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/15 12:53 AM

You make a really good point - there absolutely is a disconnect between how the different waves of feminism have perceived the importance of female attractiveness. The emphasis now seems to be on highlighting different kinds of beauty, but I don't personally feel that that's a real 'feminist' issue. I don't think women should be valued ONLY by the degree to which their looks match up to some rudimentary, fluctuating ideal (and I think that was the original angle, probably), but the 'big is beaut…

I like our friendship and I was able to find a much more fulfilling romantic relationship with a wonderful guy. The key is to not act like a little bitch about it. Not everyone is going to be attracted to you. Some people need to get over themselves.

Maybe because 'the women of PPD' doesn't represent a single viewpoint? Of course there are going to be different opinions and responses. I'm not quite sure what your point is. TRP doesn't present a united front either. In any case, I've never seen the second kind of response in all my time here. How is it 'disregarding the feelings of women' to suggest that women are also interested in casual sex..? I'm honestly at a loss. If you think I've been inconsistent, please do feel free to point it out.

When does compromise work? Compromise doesn't always have to be a meeting in the middle between two options. More often than not, it's talking things out and realising that one particular option is better. It's that examination of both options and reaching agreement from both parties that counts, not the end result. In theory then, compromise can work with any issue. What does compromise mean to you? Simply put, it's just reaching an outcome that both parties are happy with. Again, that doesn't …

In the realm of casual sex though, often the very point is that you're not looking for a relationship. In fact, conventional advice tells women that they shouldn't sleep with a guy they're into on the first date, and a lot of women adhere to that. There are exceptions to that rule of course, but on the whole with NSA sex I think both parties start out specifically NOT wanting a relationship, and that therefore rules out the idea that there's commitment to be won from the guy in the first place. …

This relies on the assumption that his NSA sex partners are looking for a relationship or commitment from him in the first place. These days, a lot of people just want the sex. It doesn't really count as being the gatekeeper of commitment when there's no question of commitment in the first place.

What is monogamy if it doesn't involve sex? Okay, semantics. I'm talking about monogamy as far as it means being exclusive, i.e. not having sex with other people. Why? I don't want to get a divorce. I want to be married to my wife. I also want to have an intimate/sexual relationship...Because I'm being denied the latter, I also have to give up the former? Well, yes. It sounds harsh, but that's the situation you're in. I'm not saying it's easy. It's not, it's hard - doing the right thing is hard.…

Because marriage is an arrangement that is usually understood to amount to monogamy. If you don't want to be monogamous, or you feel that your sex life would be better with a different partner, your options are to get divorced or not get married in the first place. You agree to either/or when you marry someone (unless of course you've made another agreement).

Women need to remember the reality that if they're looking hot, some men are going to take notice. Equally, those men taking notice need to realise and accept the fact that it's probably not a choice that was made for their benefit, and shouldn't try to make it about themselves. I don't have time to go trawling through old threads on Reddit right now, but a lot of the TRPers I've come across tend do be very, very dismissive of any study or report that doesn't corroborate their worldview, and at the same time overly reliant on the smallest glean of anything that would seem to confirm it. Interesting question. My usual stance on abortion is that it's ultimately an individual's decision what happens with their body. In this case however, the individual forfeits that right because she took it away from someone else; it would be somewhat hypocritical to defend her right to bodily autonomy here. On top of that, it's probably not the best environment for a child to be born into anyway. So yes, I'd say that forced abortion might be an option here, if that's what the victim wants to hap…

Except it isn't because I'm hardly the only man who thinks so. This also doesn't make it an ad hominen. Excuse me? Says who? You think that just because I'm rejecting your irrelevant bullshit that means I've conceded your accusations? I seem to remember you saying as much before. You honestly think that the expectation of men to be more stoic and "tough" compared to women I absolutely don't deny this - but it still doesn't amount to 'men should never how emotion around women'. All TRPers have is also 'only claims'. I have never seen an instance of a woman leaving a man because he showed x emotion - what I have seen and personally experienced are instances where almost the exact opposite happens. All we have is each others' word around here, and all I can say is that my SO has shown various emotions on numerous occasions and it's had nothing close to the effect described by TRP. Oddly enough (or perhaps not) the debates mostly seem to be between women saying, as I am, …

Hah. Did you just pick that phrase up in a philosophy book? Because I don't think you know what it means - it's not an ad hominen when it's directly relevant to the discussion. You've had no relationship experience and yet you're trying to tell people how relationships work. It's kind of like an English grad trying to tell a physicist 'hey actually you're wrong about the speed of light. Trust me I read it somewhere'. I think the original goals of feminism have now largely been achieved in western society; there are choices for those who want to take them, and being born female will no longer mean that being a wife and mother while the rest of the world is 'run by men' is the only option. Women aren't oppressed in our society and have pretty much the same opportunities men do. I don't think we need to achieve 50/50 representation in every field - the whole point of feminism for me is that women can also choos…

Says the guy with... how much relationship experience, exactly? Because from someone who's actually in a LTR, this isn't how it works. My SO has been emotional in front of me tons of times and it's only made me admire him more. I'm not saying it wound be a good idea to be super emotional all the time, but it's definitely not as extreme as you're making it out to be.

I don't know. I see what you're saying but your model would suggest that people develop their personalities solely with reference to interaction with/attention from the opposite sex. I don't think this is the case.

Debates aside, I really wouldn't advise bringing this kind of stuff up in casual conversation outside these subs. It's a bit of a 'deep' topic for every day life. A bit like religion, not everyone is prepared to discuss these things off the bat. People need to be open to and in the mindset for having their beliefs challenged, and most people are on 'just get through the day' mode most of the time and therefore won't want it or be receptive to it. I would never enter a relationship with someone who remained 'detached and calculating'. Otherwise, what's the point in even being in the relationship in the first place? The concept of Nationhood in the sense you're using is defined by literal lines in the sand - what does it matter if those lines now have a name? The natives who inhabited the area before thought of the land in a different way, but it doesn't change the fact that the place they called home became a space they shared with people from foreign lands. It's not even like the modern day US is culturally united; it's just a name and a legal system slapped over a rudimentary land mass, like all nations.…

This doesn't contradict anything I said. I stated before that slim people can get sick; I am aware that it's possible to be slim and still develop diabetes. However, this is much rarer in slim people than it is in fat people - fat people will almost certainly develop type 2 diabetes or some other illness related to their weight, whereas someone who is the correct weight will only develop diabetes if they eat crap food and don't exercise. Minimal effect. Marriage rates are already on the decline - it would be a bit of a leap for people to marry more than one person when so many people are opting to marry none in the first place. There might be a bit of an uptake by both genders, but I think it would still be fairly rare. Outside of marriage, the modern casual dating scene pretty much amounts to open polygamy anyway, so I don't think it would have much of an impact.

Health risks does not mean they have anything actually wrong, it just means they could. This is simply untrue, and it's frankly despicable that HAES is promoting this. You suggested before that you weren't trying to downplay the risks associated with being overweight - but you're doing it right now. ANYONE can get sick; what the facts say is that you are more at risk of various illnesses if you're overweight, and statistics are quite clear on that. When did I ever say that? You were arguing in favour of HAES, who play down the effect of weight on health. This is not in line with what doctors say. Doctors will still tell you to try to lose the weight. That's all I'm saying.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/15 05:02 PM

Health IS the conventional wisdom. That isn't a HAES thing. We both know fine well what stes HAES apart. their doctor. Most doctors are in agreement here - your weight will cause problems for you. I don't care about the opinion of fat-acceptance bloggers; actual doctors say that to be at optimal health, your BMI shoudl be between 18-15. And yes, I certainly can and will comment on weight when you're going around telling people it won't be a problem.

Depends on the poster. Some I take with a grain of salt, some I'm more inclined to believe. One thing I've noticed though is that the rule seems to be if a Red Piller says it, it's God's Truth, but anyone else saying it means it's either lying or an anomaly.

A large part of RPW is teaching women not to exhibit the AWALT traits. AWALT is just AWALT. RWP might try to minimise their tendences towards it, but even they admit they're still AWALT (hey, I'm not even Red Pill, just playing Devil's Advocate here!) Not 'all of her energies' - as I stated clearly I'm working under the assumption here that this is only an occasional occurance. chances are, if you neglect other responsibilities in life in favour of focussing 100% on your relationship, the relationship will probably still fall apart anyway. People need well-rounded lives to function. I'm not saying that it's cool to constantly turn down sex - but it's untrue to say that being tired has no effect on libido.

One thing that you're missing here is that women can't or won't be empathetic enough to try to see the world from a man's point of view. What I see in RP is a lot of men sharing common experiences and comparing notes about what they've seen and observed in their lives. Women routinely minimize this or deny these experiences and incorrectly assume that there must be some irrational "hatred" on the man's part. Like someone else said on this thread, I think the fat acceptance movement has been more about fat people feeling okay with their bodies. I don't think many people deny (though some do, I know) that being fat is unattractive. I don't like the fat acceptance movement because for health reasons I don't think it's good to encourage people to stay overweight - but I do think there's a small upside in making people feel kind of okay about themselves. I don't think anyone should be made to feel like s…

You're entitled to that opinion. I think it's a bit of a waste of time bring angry about it though. It's like religion - so long as I'm not being forced to listen, whatever.

Same. I don't see many people suggesting 'men NEED to be attracted to this'. There's the 'real men like curves' gig sure, but that's only one faction of the movement.

Sure. I completely agree. My point is that I haven't seen that happening - what I see is 'big bodies CAN be beautiful TOO'. We probably both disagree with this sentiment, but they're just trying to present us with a alternative take on things, which is fine in my eyes.

It's important to be able to tell the difference between fantasy and reality. People fantasise about a lot of things they wouldn't actually want to happen in a million years. When I was a teenager, I used to fantasise about having different parents, but there was no way I would actually have wanted my own parents to disappear. It was a nice thought, but didn't really jive too well with, y'know, reality. I mean sure, the thought of getting busy with Liam Hemsworth is nice, but if presented with t…

If that's the case, I don't think that leaning comes through very often. I've seen women criticised there for their role in a relationship's crumbling many times, and it doesn't seem to be weighted particularly against men. In any case, it's a lot closer to the 'centre' than TRP is.

What do feminists think? Well as a feminist I think the fat acceptance movement is, (excuse the pun) largely bullshit, and I'm not surprised that people continue to find slimmer people attractive. Slender bodies tend to be more attractive than flabby ones. That said, as much as I disagree with the fat acceptance movement, I think the aim is more about recognising that larger bodies can be attractive, is it not? I know some bigger women try to shame men for not liking their bodies, but most of wh…

I see what you're saying - of course criticising a thing isn't necessarily the same thing as hating it. With TRP though, it's the rationale behind a lot of the constituent dogma that's hateful. Myself and frankly most other people in the world don't share TRP's views about women being inherently 'less' than men - because there's no solid, objective evidence for this claim. It's a belief system which appears to be perched upon some very shaky foundations, so there must be something else holding i…

Right, but approximately 0% of women actually want this to take place in real life. Edit: Also, interestingly, the Wikipedia article says that rape fantasies are also common among men. Shall I put the word out that you want to be raped, exit_sandman? I'm sure some lonely incel out there would be very happy to get tucked into you, as you so desire. (Also, because this is Reddit, I feel the need to say that I'm obviously not being serious. I wish that went without saying.)

TRP likes this line a lot, but it's not really reflected in modern day reality. Literally all the men I work with are married to other skilled, highly trained professionals. It's all accountants, lawyers or consultants - none of them are marrying the check-out girl. *Edit: I should say all the men I work with who are married/in a relationship. Not suggesting that every single one is partnered off (though like all 25 year old + environments, most of them seem to be.)

I'm not saying that; what I am saying is that when I was at uni, neither myself nor any of my girlfriends had a 'one off affair with a 30+ guy', which immediately belies his idea that 'most girls' have had this experience. I'm absolutely certain that it does happen, but observable reality tells us that it's simply not as common as he's making out. A minority have, sure. But it's a minority and not most.

This is definitely something to keep in mind with new relationships - I believe TRP has that much right - but I think there comes a certain point in a LTR where this isn't such a problem anymore. If you're still 'measuring out' your release of emotions after, say, two years, there's probably a bigger problem with the relationship at work. As long as you're not a wreck all the time, bonding brought about by emotional sharing can be very beneficial Saying that, I don't think it would be attractive…

Literally not one of my girlfriends has had a boyfriend/fling over 30 (believe me, I would have heard about it), and from my whole time at university I could count on one hand the number of times I heard of this happening. I think the point is that Chad will have had an easier time picking up 19 year old girls when he was 19 than he will picking up those same girls when he's 30+. While his SMV may have increased in your eyes, it doesn't change the fact that a lot of 19 year old women would prefer to hook up with 19 year old Chad than 30+ year old Chad. Yes, some Chads (but not every Chad) at 30 will have a successful career that may work in their favour - but his age is still a limiting factor for him.

Your proposed changes sound like a step in the right direction, though I agree that there will need to be some clarification around subjects which have been 'beaten to death'. If users don't want to get involved in a particular discussion because they've 'been there, done that', what's wrong with them just not joining the thread? There's usually a new perceptive offered when topics are discussed again. Anyway, thanks for all your hard work, mod team!

Crack down on people who don't take this subreddit seriously. Does that include you then? Because I distinctly remember you saying the other day that you 'only come here for entertainment'. Edit: Why the downvote? It's a serious question. Your own posts here tend to be low-effort, standard Red Pill drivel, churning out the same old stuff - and then you complain about non-Red Pillers being unwilling to debate when that's clearly not the case.

Not really, because chances are if you're smart enough to realistically even be shooting for doctor at all you recognise that it's a very different career from nursing. 'Nurse' isn't 'Doctor lite'; they're vastly different professions. The only similarities really are that they share the same 'clients' in patients - the same way for example a corporate lawyer and a corporate tax accountant share the same clients which they do different work for. Edit: Just to be clear, I'm not suggesting that a …

/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/15 05:17 PM

Nope. Doctors and nurses have completely different career paths - most of those who 'fail at being doctors' go into the sciences or research. Very rarely do you get an aspiring doctor becoming a nurse, or vice versa.

Christ. Feeling a little angry there, mate? Bit bitter at the world maybe? I came to this woman's defence because you were attacking her for daring to identify the same thing you did. You were being a child and were basically going 'nuh-uh! I have it SO MUCH WORSE"!!!111!' What do you want people to say? Do you want more pity? THAT's why I said you've only yourself to blame. Unlike lepers in India, you're a bit of a cunt - so don't worry. I COMPLETELY understand why you're FA. I get that 100%. I…

Jesus, your witch hunt is getting a bit sad mate. You're obviously just looking for a reason to resent this woman, and no matter what she says you're going to continue that search. If you're FA yourself, consider that this kind of determined hatred will not help you. Calm down, go spend your weekend doing something that doesn't involve scolding some random woman on the internet. I'm sorry if that's harsh but this exchange was cringeful to watch.

Isn't FA a sub where people go to talk about their problems? They don't go there to get picked up, it's not a hookup forum. The womens' standards aren't the problem - it's the mens' inability to see that FA isn't the correct arena to try to pick up.

Look, I haven't read the studies either. It's not 'my science'; I'm not the OP, and I'm not defending the conclusions. The question of their validity - and by the way, they appear to be at least as reputable as the studies TRP bases a lot of its thinking on - is kind of besides the point here. That's not what I'm debating. My intention was to point out the irony in your apparently uneducated dismissal of these studies in a thread about whether or not men also sometimes put their feelings about a…

And yet you have ZERO science backing up your own outrage...and who said anything about nice guys or making fun of them? The topic here is whether men also engage in hamstering.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/15 01:24 PM

I'm honestly not trying to be inflamatory but - isn't this a form of hamstering right here? Trying to explain away what appears to be objective truth because it makes you a bit uncomfortable or doesn't quite jive with how you'd like things to be..? And then you reject these scientific studies with 'what a load of shit'...

Just to be clear - what we were discussing was the idea that trying to make a woman see her own hamstering was 'similar to trying to explain colour to a blind man.' That's what I was referring to when I asked you how this applied to men who also don't think women hamster more than men. I'll assume this is what you're responding to, but just wanted to delineate that again in case. or it's even possible they recognized some aspect of reality that I haven't. Okay, but you accept that there are men who disagree with your opinion that women hamster more than men do, and are thus unable to see this phenomenon that you claim women will never understand? Whether it's hamstering or not to disagree is a bit more subjective.

women historically had little power to effect change through action given our obvious size and strength differences. Instead, women developed mechanisms in the mind to control behaviour in order to effect the most positive social benefits for herself. Male evolutionary developments were more on the side of problem-solving and physical tasks, as again, they led to survival. This is an interesting read, and I hate to play the 'source' card, but asking honestly: is any of this actually scientifical…

Again, this is just hugely lazy reasoning. What you're doing is making a statement that is impossible to prove and then excusing yourself from expounding upon it with 'only people who agree with me can understand it'. I mean, this is the exact kind of reasoning all those feminist complaints about about x and y are founded upon - 'you have to be a woman to understand precisely why it's so insulting, but of course you still have to accept it'. I think inexperience was more attractive when I was younger. Today, if I were looking at all I probably wouldn't actively prefer a virgin or anything. I'm 24 now, so probably past the excitement of 'teaching' anyone anything (not that I ever have). On the other end of the scale, I'd probably find it slightly unattractive if a guy has nailed half the girls in the city. 12-15 would be the upper limit there, but I wouldn't rule out either inexperience or lots of experience on that alone.

In terms of putting feelings about an issue before the reality of a situation, where that reality might not be a comfortable one to accept - men do this equally often. It's a defence mechanism, a simple propensity to fool yourself. For instance, there was a guy on here earlier telling me I must be autistic because he apparently couldn't accept my point of view. He may well have believed this, but it didn't make it true. To him, this was a reality that satisfied his angry and frustrated emotions.…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj3iNxZ8Dww So, you'd like to spend large amounts of non-sexual time with this woman then? Sure. Statistics say you're the one who is weird - most people, men included, gravtitate towards people on the same intellectual level as them, for both romantic and platonic relationships. /r/PurplePillDebate02/09/15 08:01 PM

You can't justify it. I think it's wrong. It made sense in the past, when women didn't have their own jobs and society was set up so that men did play the provider role. Now though, we're close to equal pay, so the rationale behind it isn't really there. I think it still exists because it's a tradition people think they need to play up to, but I don't like it when women insist or expect men to pay for dates just because they're the guy.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/15 07:19 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/15 07:14 PM

I guess so, but that doesn't mean the thing has quantifiable, objective value. Even at that, a lot of people don't think even the first time is valuable - I didn't. I have fond memories, but it wasn't a thing of 'value'.

I think the key difference is that it's important to the individual 'losing it', but outside of that it's really not a big deal. The same way the wedding of the that woman you work with is important to her - but why should it matter to anyone else? It has no intrinsic value outside of the value the subject places on it.

But, I digress), it's safe to say that there's a general contempt for women on TRP that is of a level that is unreasonable to most people; ergo, people take issue with it. I invoked the virgin prude narrative because tone was set with references to 'CC riders', which is, to use your words, pretty close to the cheapest zing TRP men use to shame women into putting up with their insecure 'my penis might be smaller than his' bullshit. I haven't read the link TBH, but my point is that you don't need to be TRP to have a backbone; plenty of men already have this without Red Pill teachings, and that is not what women hate about TRP.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/15 08:55 AM

Then do please explain to us why women don't like the red pill? For real? I feel like you're playing dumb here. AWALT, smartest teenager in the house, women can't feel empathy, advice on how to manipulate people by using their weaknesses, etc. You know fine well what I'm talking about. because men are learning about the true nature of women? In economics that's called comparative advantage, and it doesn't apply here. If you assumed that the only two 'goods' in society were offspring and labour, and our aim was to constantly produce both, then it might be more relevant, but I'm afraid reality is rather different than that. It would be inefficient to take women out of work to have children all the time. Our modern knowledge-based economy is a lot more complicated than that.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/15 12:41 PM

Maybe more women than men, for various reasons, vote liberal now. But as I understand it, the actual Labour movement was spearheaded and organised by working men, who formed unions to assert their rights / represent their interests. This was before the spread of feminism - before women even had the vote, and when most of them never had anything to do with the workforce. The Labour movement was driven by men.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/15 12:32 AM

The labour movement has always been spearheaded by working men. It's not something that women brought about.

Women have to be given resources one way or another. And yet TRP also complains about women taking jobs from men. If you're Australian, you'll know that spousal support goes both ways there - in the absence of a prenup, women are liable to financially support their former partners the same way men are. Socialism, I.E. wealth redistribution through taxes. I assume you support Abbott then.

To be fair, I don't think a lot of the 'Reds' posting here fully understand TRP either. In any case, many of the Red Pill posters seem to have diverging opinions on certain RP topics, so that makes it even harder to find a common understanding. Usually the case is that you're debating one particular person's opinion, which doesn't necessarily reflect the views of TRP. In terms of having a deep knowledge of TRP - I think it depends on what exactly you're looking to debate. Most of the debates her…

You're the one who's trying to change the premise. Is it the same behaviour we're talking about or isn't it? You couldn't seem to decide. You're stalking away now under the guise of my supposed lack of understanding, but I think the reality is that you've crumbled when asked to elaborate on your reasoning. Don't try to blame me for that. lol, you want the last word, that's why you keep replying. You were insulting me. If you do that, I'll give it right back. Anyway, I'm done here.

If we're citing biological differences now as an excuse to judge behaviour differently, then is it less objectionable when a woman 'branch swings' than when a man does it? It's in a woman's nature to do this, right? So it's not really as bad as when men do the same thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/15 06:41 PM

No, it's not hypocritical, because they are two different standards. Read this again and tell me how that isn't hypocrisy. That's exactly what hypocrisy IS: judging other peoples' behaviour by different standards than you judge your own. They're different. How exactly arr they different? Again, I'm going to need a concrete example of behaviour, because this all depends really on the context. You didn't explain how you think it's relevant. I have explained a bunch of times now that it's relevant …

How about you let me go through it one more time, since you seem so intent on arguing against a straw man? Because I'm pretty sure I stressed in my other reply that 'MDIT' - or at least how I've seen it used around here - is not MEANT to divest women of responsibility for their actions. 'Men do it too' IS relevant though when you're finding yourself getting pissed off at all women while excusing the same thing in men. It's normal to get pissed off at certain behaviour; what's objectionable is assigning blame to only half of the perpetrators.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/15 03:00 PM
3

I would guess the reason that people respond 'men do it too' is not to justify the behaviour, but to point out hypocrisy. It helps to illustrate that x is less of a 'women' thing and more of a 'people' thing. For example, saying 'Cars made by Ford are fitted with seatbelts because it would be unsafe to drive without them', while true, is not very apt since it is only half of the truth - in reality, all cars are fitted with seatbelts for this reason. So it would be silly to go around saying that …

I don't really care about the points in themselves, but it's frustrating when someone obviously disagrees and can't be assed verbalising their reasoning (or alternatively, they have none), so they downvote your comment instead. Wait, who are you arguing against here? Who is saying that marriage is 'good'? I think a lot of people on both sides of the debate could agree that marriage is only as strong as the people committing to it. The divorce rate is high because, for better or for worse, 'marriage' doesn't mean what it used to. A piece of paper or jewelry doesn't mean shit. Marriage is almost irrelevant in terms of how 'strong' a couple is.

No, people just get weary of the other side constantly declaring themselves the winner. 'You're wrong; I am right' does not count as winning a debate. But her, if that all it takes for you to declare yourself the winner, then have at it I guess.

Okay. Interesting. Most of the feminists I know fall into the first, casual category - tbh I don't really have much experience with the second category except online. Of course. The word 'slut' has negative connotations, but the word you happen to use to describe someone who has promiscuous sex has no bearing on that person's morality, or their sense of right and wrong. None at all. That's another fallacy entirely - that having lots of sex automatically makes you a shitty person in some way. Let me ask you: I assume one of your goals as a Red Piller is to sleep with as many women as possible. Do you think the fact that you've slept with x number of people com…

I suppose it depends on what precisely you think the morally questionable aspect of cheating is - is it the act itself, or the deception and hurt that it causes? Personally I'd say it's a bit of both, but the two components aren't related. There's no flow of cause and effect. Having sex with x number of people outside of a relationship doesn't mean you think it's okay to hurt someone you love. In any case, you can have promiscuous sex in a NSA context and value it very differently - and for diff…

It's simple logic that there's a correlation. There isn't. It's the same kind of thinking that you find people using to rationalise hatred of gays for instance - the logical flow is absent. Having casual NSA sex when you're single is one thing. Cheating on your partner is another. For the latter you need to be okay with hurting people you love. It's an entirely different ballgame

I've been meaning to respond to this for a while. The only thing you mentioned previously that differs from TRP is that he is a "feminist", a term that is essentially meaningless without a lot of follow-up detail. He's a feminist in the sense that he thinks women are no less capable than men. He believes, like me, that most gender differences are down to nurture as opposed to nature. I think you're confused. Expecting the same rights as a fellow human does not mean you're trying to be that fellow human. Were black people trying to be white when they pushed for the right to vote? You're confusing the right with the people who have access to it. For example, the right to vote stems not from being white (male), but from being a citizen (human). Ah fair enough, it just seems like a lot of TRPers automatically write them off. Eh, I think it can depend on your mindset and your preconceptions about what gender roles and family 'should' be. If a guy had some deep-rooted belief that it's unmanly to stay at home, then if course he's going to feel inadequate in that role. He wants to hook up with YOU! Wow. Really??!! Little old me? Such an honour! Allow me a minute to pass out. You're making a lot of assumptions about how well this guy would pull off his game. Being Red Pill does not mean he's going to be great in the sack or anything. On the contrary, given that he needs TRP, there would probably be a lot of areas he was deficient in. This might sound harsh, but given the very nature and purpose of the sub, I imagine your average TRP user (though not all of them…

I actually think it's a a good idea, and could be really effective. I'd encourage periods of it for both sexes. It's important to build a relationship with yourself so that you don't get too 'caught up' in the world and swept away by interpersonal relationships. In all likelihood, a certain amount of time invested in yourself will only benefit your future relationships.

Alright, fair enough. We don't disagree too far. I'm just not of the opinion that lying about partner count is not all that prevalent outside of certain circles.

Nope. If you're into someone and you know they like you back, you should show it. Life is too short for anything else.

lol! But you're doing the same thing - you just admitted it above. You know what normal people don't do? They don't 'condition' their SOs in the first place. That, my friend, is fucked. Anyway. I just find it really interesting that this makes you so uncomfortable. Maybe you should think about that.

If the 'stakes' were as high as keeping commitment, I think she very well could keep it quiet. There are a lot of forces that would go against her speaking about it. Prime among them, being called a 'slut'. These studies are lies to begin with. Right then, so is all the data TRP likes to use. As are your your own anecdotes. Statistics like these are just collected anecdotes after all. You can't just pick and choose which facts you'll accept to confirm your biased worldview. I mean, you could. bu…

Admittedly, I don't hang around that sub - is it a topic that comes up regularly? Can you link me any examples you know of? I'm in my mid twenties, and I do hang around with actual women. TRP seems to pick out the very worst examples and hold them up as representative of everyone. I think my girlfriends would be pretty unimpressed with this kind of advice, and wouldn't give it. Then again, the guys I hang about with probably wouldn't care about partner counts either. It's just not something that…

This is interesting. Being brutally honest, I probably wouldn't choose to settle with someone who would be happy working behind a bar their whole life. I can't speak for the women in the study you mention, but I can also say with honesty that it's not about the money (because to be honest I'm making enough of that myself, which OP's study seems to suggest is true for many). It does matter to me however that my partner is as ambitious as I am. This has more to do with assumptions I make about int…

I see what you're getting at, but what does low partner count have to do with this? He's not more likely to catch and STD because he's got a lower count than her. It comes down to protection.

It's pretty common advice among girlfriends advising each other. I'm a woman and I'm telling you I've never heard this. I don't know who you're spending time with, but it's not that common.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/15 01:04 PM

It's exactly why women tell other women to lie about partner count, I can honestly say I've never heard this. no man likes a ho for a housewife. Yes but. we're assuming he doesn't know he has a 'ho'. I imagine a woman wouldn't like a manipulator for a husband.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/15 12:28 PM

This is poor logic. You really don't think a woman could keep it quiet if she wanted to? I'm not condoning it, but I think it would be entirely possible. lying about her partner count is very important in a woman's sexual strategy Most women don't feel the need to lie about their partner count - for one, studies indicate that the average woman doesn't have that many sexual partners before marriage/settling down; and in any case a lot of men don't care about partner count. To consider lying, I th…

I don't have to provide any evidence for that stance, because that's not what we're debating. You're just wrong. have a nice evening.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/15 07:34 PM

That is true. But you are not providing any evidence for this claim. This is my point. You can't just gloss over the whole debate with 'it's true'. I contest that, and we won;t go any further until this point is settled. That is precisely what's up for debate.

Look, I don't mean to be rude, but I'm just not having this debate again. I've been over these same points elsewhere in the same thread - the 'Women are Wonderful effect' included. My opinion is that you're pretty freaking naive if you think women aren't capable of the same shitty things as men. I know enough men who've never thought this to draw my conclusions. If you need TRP to tell you that women are human, go right ahead. But don't try to blame society.

How would she be broken because of having sex, in a way than a man wouldn't? Assuming of course we can rule out traumatising experiences, which we probably can. You're just running off the TRP party line - and you seem to forget that not everyone subscribes to those beliefs. Huh. I've found the opposite. I don't know if it's different in the U.S., but here no one wants to be a waiter. No one has that as their life dream. They're usually students doing it part-time or people or people who's ambitions for life maybe haven't worked out - I guess you could argue that the latter involved poor decision making at some stage, but I don't resent them for that. Well sure. By those standards, it's not different for men though. As far as AWALT means 'women have the capacity to be awful', I agree with it. I think the same applies to men though, and the idea that 'women are just human' is certainly not a groundbreaking one.

Eh. I think it depends on the age difference. If an older guy specifically goes for 18 year olds, we all know it's probably because he knows she'll be easy to manipulate. And I'd think he was way dodgy for that reason. Unless she's particularly headstrong, an 18 year old girl is a pretty easy target. I don't think it should be against the law or anything though.

The male basis for it is innate, biological. It's also other women doing half of the slut shaming. Yes, I could posit some reasons for why demonisation of male sexuality happens too. I mean, you were arguing that 'men are shamed for their sexuality' - are you honestly comfortable complaining about that in the same breath as condoning demonisation of female sexuality? Both the male and female movements want the demonisation to be removed dfrom their secuality - your argument sounds a lot like wha…

What? Dude, have you read these? These articles are about the prevelence of perfectionism in women. Just to be clear - you understand that saying somen have a tendency towards perfectionism isn't the same as saying women are perfect, right? If anything, perfectionism is a negative trait. Look, if a person makes a claim, the onus is on them to back it up. I've done my research and I came to a different conclusion to the person I was debating with. Why don't you read your own sources first? lol.

Maybe you should try to follow. I stated above the kind of guy I was talking about: Nice GuyTM, and all the attributes that go with him. The kind of guy who thinks that he's entitled to a woman's affection just because he's so nice. The kind of guy that talks to women about how nice he is all the time. The kind of guy who is playing up the 'niceness' angle for the purpose of getting laid. The kind of person you're talking about is just a regular decent person who happens to be nice. Now, so that…

Modern society has entire campaigns, including thousands strong public walks, to support women being sluts Yes, because they are shamed for it. That's why they happen. Look, I'm not saying that men aren't demonised for the same thing in certain circles - but they're not alone in that. There is nothing even remotely close to this for a man wanting to learn how to have frequent sex. Yes, because straight, 'safe' male sexuality has up till very recently been much, much more acceptable to society th…

So let me get this straight: is the only difference that I said 'women' in the general sense and you said the 'right girl' in the particular sense? Please do re-read those two sentences and tell me where they differ. They don't think it will "earn them browny points". Yes. They want sex/women to be attracted to them as a result of their niceness. You're splitting hairs here. Look, I can bold too. It doesn't help your argument.

You honestly haven't heard this kind of thinking before? It's where the whole Nice Guy trope comes from - self-proclaimed 'nice guys' being bitter that women won't sleep with them - the implication being that thse women shoudl sleep with them because they're so 'nice'. I mean, there was literally some of that in the original post. That's why this whole conversation started. OP suggested that women SHOULD be attracted to nice men.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/15 04:15 PM
1

Because it's what they were told. Yes. And to my mind, that makes them somewhat less than nice. I'm not saying you shouldn't try to get laid; but if you can only muster 'niceness' for the sake of getting laid, then it's not being nice. None of this is contrary to my original comment - the kind of 'Nice Guys' we're talking about have a host of other qualities that make them unattractive. So why should women be attracted to these 'Nice Guys', as OP posits? Just because they're 'Nice' doesn't mean …

A lack of empathy is what draws men to TRP, incidentally. Hah, because TRP is so empathetic. It's because they were specifically told, trained and instructed that if they were nice, then the "right girl" would fall head over heels in love with them. ...You realise this is exactly what I said, right? They're telling [certain] women they're nice because they think it will earn them browny points. Doesn't mean they're actually nice - and my point is that, in my experience, the kind of people who have to say this costantly are far from nice. I'm not arguing that men aren't told being nice i…

Yes, I know about those tropes. I've discussed them elsewhere in the thread. I also happen to think that society is a lot kinder to women on some issues (with a few excpetions), so I'm under no illusions about that. None of these tropes tell us women are all-out 'perfect' and without flaw though, as OP suggests. None of them preclude the idea that women are also only human. I just don't see where OP supposedly got that messge. If you think that, you've only yourself to blame.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/15 03:45 PM

The reason they bring it up is because of their frustration with expectations and reality Yeah, no. The reason self-proclaimed 'nice guys' tell women how 'nice' they are is because they have grand notions of these women failling head over heels in love with them. If getting laid is what's motivating you to be 'nice', then are you really that nice? That seems like more of an act to me, as opposed to being genuiney nice. I see what you're saying, but I don't think it applies to the quality of being 'nice'. Yes, in many instances women are looked on more kindly than men - I don't deny that and I think it's a gender inequality that is (wrongly) not talked about very much. However, OP is claiming that he's been told women are 'perfect' - as in without flaw - and I have yet to see evidence that society tells people this. It's a subtle but important difference. Wouldn't call myself a 'BP' woman. I honestly don't get the whole aversion to 'short guys'. It's not really something I'd take into account if I even noticed to be honest. I've found guys who were shorter than me attractive in the past. On the other hand, I probably wouldn't date someone who was overweight, unless they were actively looking to change. Women ought to like nice guys Why? In my experience, the kind of guys we talk about as being 'nice' DO have all those other qualities you mention - self-described 'nice guys' are never genuinely 'nice'. Fair enough I guess. There is definitely a faction within feminism that tend to... Well, it sounds like you and many other TRPers have been raised in a climate that tells you that women are fault-ridden while men are blameless bastions of goodness, as if a particular flaw can dog 50% of the world population and not touch the other. In general I don't think that any flaw can be particularly attributed to a gender at large. There are probably some gender-related tendencies, but they're minor and not enough to attest 'AWALT/AMALT'.

People will rationalize their misery as being part of successful relationship. That doesn't mean their misery is a good thing. That's the problem with this: the hamster is strong. Why are RPers allowed to claim they're happy, but non-RPers are not?

Looks isnt status Aren't they? I was under the impression that's what TRP/RPW argue is all there is to a woman. E.g. a 9 enjoys a higher status than a 6. Either way, the person you're trading in for is better in some way, which theoretically reflects 'well' on you or whatever.

...Did you read my post, or are you just trolling? How on Earth is dread supposed to fix her past behaviour?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/15 05:47 PM
1

Yes, but she can't fix what she did in the past. She isn't doing anything wrong now - it's her past that OP is bothered about. Dread can only manipulate future behaviour. Oh, the usual 'you don't understand'. I feel like that's a cop out. I've read and have had it 'explained' to me often enough to understand what it means. What this comes down to is that dread simply doesn't apply here.

I don't think we could survive without either. Ultimately though, probably co-operation. We're a social species.

Again though, this question is affected by the difference between personal morals and what people will actually do in any given situation. I'd like to think that I'd try to open negotiations with the other group, or even find some way of sharing the resources that took the 'group' / us vs them out of the situation. If that wasn't a viable option though, in reality I'd probably opt for self-preservation - the way most people would, I imagine. That doesn't mean my morality is driven by self-preser…

I'm sorry I didn't see this before. I'm not sure why you've been downvoted. I'm definitely not religious in the slightest haha. In truth I don't know that my morals 'come' from any particular source. Yes it was this one (emphasis mine). Here is a study to help your case. They asked women how many sexual partners they had, and then asked again when they were hooked up to a fake lie detector. The reported average was only a couple partners lower than the 'lie detector' average. Women lie or understimate their count, but not by more than 2 or 3 partners. Men slightly overestimate their count. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt; I'm not saying you're definitely lying. What I am saying is th…

What is the best way to go about meeting my sexual needs without crushing someone else's spirit? Can't you just be upfront but polite with your sexual interests from the get-go? I'm pretty sure male feminists aren't feminists because they think it will get them sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/15 03:57 PM
1

If that were the case, pretty much most but a few men would be having sex outside of their marriages/relationships. I know it does happen on both sides, but it's nowhere near that common. Honestly, I think most people take the 'unfulfilled' route where they have a higher sex drive than their partner.

If it came out easily like that it doesn't sound like she was purposefully trying to hide it from you. If she were, I imagine she'd be carrying the guilt of it around like a burden, and probably wouldn't have been comfortable even talking about the subject in general. She would have been much more conscious and hesitant going into that conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/15 03:49 PM

I disagree, I don't think having a high sex drive is mutually exclusive with overcoming that for the sake of the person you love and want to share your life with. Couldn't the same be said for men, who usually do have the higher sex drives?

How is 'soft dread' going to solve the issue? OP isn't afraid she's going to leave; I believe the issue is that he's bothered she didn't tell him. Dread will accomplish nothing but resentment here.

If you're having doubts about this issue, and you have a strong relationship otherwise (and it sounds like you do), it might be a good idea to just talk to her about them. Getting an open discussion going might help you both come to terms with the issue. Aim to understand why she didn't feel she wanted to tell you. there is a good reason to lie about it Not really though. These kinds of polls are usually anonymised. I'm still not convinced. Sex is obviously important to men (and women - but I'll admit that most men probably want it more in general), but I don't think it's a motivator for the bulk of men in assessing the question of whether or not to settle down; mainly for the reasons I gave above. Most women also change their whole lives to get married. It's not a one-way street. Well, we disagree. Yeah, again.... I thought you were coming off the top level comment. Was replying by inbox. Well, it happens, but honestly that's a little exasperating since this conversation has gone on for a while - I'd have thought you would have wanted to keep track of and develop the points you were making. Do you mind reading down the thread again so that I don't have to re-iterate all of the same arguments I've already made? Then maybe we can get on the same page. It's always essentially a modified versi…

You insist it would be a disqualifier for an RP man For the same reason that a 'slut' would be disqualified from your list in an 'ideal' partner. What's your point ? That, contrary to your initial assertion, a RP man would not 'qualify' for OP's list just because he happens to possess some of the qualities that she likes. As I've said countless times, I know those qualities intersect. In the same way though, a 'slut' might be hot and submissive and a good homemaker (qualities we may presume woul…

I'm going to come back to this later but misogyny is literally defined as 'hatred or contempt for women'. Look it up. You're the one operating from an incorrect definition, and arguably doing what you're falsley accusing me of.

I don't think we do that, at least I don't do that Yeah, sorry, but I've seen you do that precise thing so many times. It's either a variant of 'you don't understand' or 'not all Red Pillers'. You're doing it in a conversation we're having on another thread right now. But I digress. I do appreciate the effort. It's a good idea. I'll try to take a look at these later in the weekend.

I didn't define an RP man. I just defined the traits of a man. Red Pill Alpha Trait No. 2, Red Pill Beta Trait No. 1, Red Pill Alpha Trait No. 5, Feminist, Red Pill Alpha Trait No. 6, Red Pill Beta Trait No. 3, Red Pill Beta Trait No. 4, Red Pill Alpha Trait No. 17, Red Pill Alpha Trait No. 47 Right. But misogyny, hatred of women. Is not required. It's part of the Red Pill canon. Just look at the sidebar. It's absolutely inherent. Yes, you could drop those aspects from your own 'game', but then …

But situationally, it can be useful for some guys (I am sometimes that guy). I mean yeah, fair enough. I can see where you're coming from - it can be useful to belittle others in your mind a little to give you more of a sense of confidence in yourself. Why not look at it differently though? Like not seeing it as a thing about women specifically (i.e. this person is inferior because she is a woman) and more of a general 'I'm better than this person because they're a bit of an idiot'? Women are ju…

Why do you assume OP thinks that? The question after all was 'what makes a quality man' not 'what makes you a quality partner'. Poor effort.

Was misogynist on either of my lists Yeah. Women are 'incapable to empathy' / 'the most responsible teenager in the house' / 'inferior to men'. Sorry, the misogyny of TRP is not up for debate with me. Maybe you personally don't think those things; but if that's the case I don't know what you're doing at TRP. Misogyny is part of the Red Pill canon, and its philosophy of gender is in large part what differentiates it from other PUA models. (And for the record, I don't think it's 'misogynistic' at …

You're changing the goal posts here. I didn't say that TRP gives advice that makes men unattractive to women. What I'm saying is that it's being Red Pill, and manifesting the beliefs that are associated with it, that knocks those points off; and that would probably mean you wouldn't be attractive to the person you replied to, despite how many 'positive' traits you demonstrate that are Red-Pill approved or otherwise. There's a trade off. Being 'confident' might count in your favour, but being a m…

You were the one who brought up 'lists', suggesting that the OP liked a lot of Red Pill traits and implying that you somehow met her 'criteria' despite her professed dislike of RP. I'm saying that those traits are not unique to Red Pill, and that yes, they're probably attractive to many women. But there are also many, many things about Red Pill that are decidedly unattractive. So yeah, a RP dude might fancy himself confident and personable and whatnot, but there's a lot more to it than that and …

Population surges have a direct effect on demand for resources. Demand for resources has an indirect effect on the climate and the environment. I'm pretty sure that hole in the ozone layer could be pretty disastrous for the planet.

I'm just quaking in my boots here.

I guess I mean it more in terms of the environment. Global warming and related phenomenons, poor air quality, decreased biodiversity - these are problems that are exacerbated by huge and growing populations. Too many people putting pressure on resources.

She said she likes slender guys. Aren't you all supposed to be the super-ripped, massive muscles type? And you know, similar metrics of male attractiveness were around long before TRP. Just because those 'lists' overlap in some places doesn't mean all women like Red Pill guys. There are a lot of things about the way Red Pill guys claim to be that would knock him down into oblivion in my list, and the lists of many others I imagine.

If it were a case of population, what's up with the likes of India and the rest of South East Asia, and why haven't they overtaken the West yet? The direction of a society is determined its institutions, not its population.

The planet is already suffering from problems associated with overpopulation, and it's conceivable that generations not long after us will not have enough resources to go around. In light of those facts as they presently stand, why would it be our 'duty' to contribute unnecessarily to that? If anything it's our duty as humans to limit our birth rate to the population replacement rate or below. There are more than enough of us at present that we are not in danger of dying out - and it's a misconc…

The notion of being particularly 'successful' with ladies has been around forever yes. TRP strives for that aim and throws a whole lot of other stuff in there that you could take away and still maintain the same success. Be confident and show your worth? Check, that will probably work, and has proven to do so for a long time. Right there with you Red Pill. Cultivate in yourself a sense of female inferiority? You could probably go without that one and still get the success. So I'm not denying tha…

Who said anything about rationing out sex? The point in question was the proposition that women should give men 'as much sex as they wanted' so that men would be 'nice'. They're two difference things. By your own standard, men should be aware of the consequences of their actions. See how that works? (I don't want to get into a tit-for-tat debate here btw, just playing devil's advocate to illustrate a point).

Fair enough. I assumed from the context you were in agreement with the notion that 'women should just give men what they want'.

Thanks for giving your insight. The way I see it personally is that you don't have to be RP to have confidence as a man or within your marriage - but different dynamics work for different people and I respect that. I hope things keep working out for you!
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/15 07:38 PM

Exactly. If you want men to act nice, don't lecture them. Instead, let them feel like human beings. Let them feel fulfilled. Give them what they want. Not giving you everything you demand isn't being mean. Uh huh.

I think you've got a very valid point about TBP in terms of the type of humour there (and I do agree) - but humour aside, doesn't this cultivate an audience with a particular strong opinion on a topic many people feel strongly about, usually sociopolitical. Then you stand in front of them and say things they agree with. also describe TRP exactly?

I mean, neither does his post prove anything, being as it is completely devoid of any documented facts and/or statistics - it's based purely on his assumptions and opinions about what he thinks should make women happy. A counter anecdote is a perfectly acceptable rebuttal in this case.

Just peruse the blogs of these women on the internet. They "have it all": a degree, a high paying job, a 20 year career in some HR or other office job, hell, some of them are even raising kids as single mothers from some Alpha Chad that she fucked back in her 20's... Would you mind posting a link to one of these blogs then? Edit: No? Just figments of your imagination then?
