My anecdote - one time I confessed something similar to a girl I was seeing and she jumped my bones right after. In retrospect I realized she was thrilled that I was willing to be vulnerable to her. (This was over 20 years ago FWIW.)

In general I've found that vulnerability can be attractive as long as you're not relentlessly negative.

I think AWALT is a tool to help guys who are first coming to the pill. You constantly hear objections like "that won't work this girl is different. She is special". It also addresses complaint from blue pills that amount to "well I am not like that".

The purpose is not to say that all women are the same, but rather that there are fundamental motivations of human behavior that no claims of special snowflake status can overcome.

There's a way to reveal your feelings to women that builds attraction, but there's an art to it. You have to do it little by little. Give them little glimpses into why you're damaged, how you're hurting. But at the same time keep them guessing. Just opening up won't work, you have to be guarded and vulnerable at the same time.

Women will want to heal you if you're damaged, and they like you/think you're hot. They'll want to think their femininity was what it took to make you whole again.

But there needs to be a chase. Otherwise you'll come off like in the guy in your comic.

Is the entire AWALT premise just that women are turned off by extremely emotional men, or outward displays of emotion? Because first off, men are turned off by very emotional women (In fact, there is a chemical in female tears that is a literal boner killer- cortisol). Plus, if this was all AWALT amounted to I probably wouldn't disagree much. What about all the stuff about us being inherently idiotic, incapable of loyalty (at least compared to men, who apparently never cheat on women), and having zero moral compass?

This is weird to me, but I also understand a little bit.

If what he says I can empathise, attractivness goes up. There are not many people I can be on the same wavelength with. It isn't sexually exciting and I'd hope the guy wouldn't find my emotional vulnerabilities exciting. But stoicness isn't either.
