There is context to everything, she thinks I am a "pos". She thinks shes never done anything wrong. You know, the usual lol.

My guess is her family doesn't know a lot about what is going on. She is very prideful and they are very Catholic, so id be surprised if she's told them much. Kids are 8,6,2. I could def do stuff with them when they get back. The only other thing, is I am not sure she can actually handle it without me. This will be the first time she's tried to take them somewhere.

Ya... but I didn't want to go a whole week without seeing the kids. Also makes.it hard to sign kids up for things, because then you have to count on your ex taking them when it's her week. It doesn't feel like a lot of back a forth, I get them from school directly.

I really like the 2-2-5-5 schedule, cause you have them the same days during the week, and then every other weekend. So you can schedule things far out, knowing what days are on and off.

For sure! So is alimony

Your right, I may have to do that, I'd rather just get the kids on my own for 50/50 of the time, but that may be unrealistic at this point

I hear ya, I really don't want to go back tho, I don't want the house, I don't want to be there, so it's very hard to go back

Don't tell his wife, no need to get involved with that

When you say dating here, do you mean just serious relationships? or even just meeting people, having drinks, getting out there. I cant imagine waiting a whole year to do that.

She is a stay at home mom, and I make good money so I already know that she is going to put me through the ringer financially, but I don't care about the money, as long as I can get 50/50.

I have a few meetings with lawyers scheduled this week. Hopefully they will give me some insight.

Honestly, this sounds toxic and can't imagine this going well in the future, I'd get out now before things get worse. But based on some of your kinks maybe this is something you want?

I'd probably just make the drive. For example, picking them up Friday after the game is probably annoying, but it's that much more time with them. There is a only a few years left and then they'll be "gone" so to speak. I wouldn't waste these last moments.

I'd expect to pay spousal support in your situation. Not forever but for a period of time. Unless you think she will.have enough to live for the rest of her life with the 50/50 split, but it doesn't seem like that's the case in your post. Take with a grain of salt tho, I didn't file in tx but have a similar situation and have to pay 3k a month spousal support for 1/2 years of marriage, so for me it was 6. Plus 2k in child support. It's a lot right now, but can't put a price in freedom, and both …

How long will she really be in jail for? If it's not longer term, then I doubt it will play that much of a factor.

This might be a strange take away, but I am glad I am not the only one. I hired people to clean after her for years because I didn't want the kids to live in trash hole. She wasn't like "dirty" but she just couldn't throw things away and kept and kept buying new junk. So the house was just filled with clutter. It weighs on you having it everywhere.

I have a friend who started this way, and ended up marrying the women and they have been together for 15-ish years, have a couple kids and some step kids from the original marriage. It does happen, but the odds are very much against it.

Ya, I guess I was thinking a new nanny could be the way to go. Not sure the going rate on nanny's these days. Not to pry, but how is everything else? Physical and emotional intimacy? Weekends? Vacations? Is this the only issue? Or are there others? Feel free to not give a ton of detay

Most states have a calculator for this and they just take whatever number comes out, not much negotiating involved.

Honestly, seems like overreaction to me. All the facts you laid out dont seem like a huge problem, the biggest problem I see, is that when you raise a concern your not able to communicate enough to come up with a new plan. I think moving out would be a bit immature in this case. I'd continue to work through it. Is there anyway to get a different nanny, who can stay later? If you want to lesson nanny hours, take them from the morning, not the night time.

I think I'd like to spend more time alone. My wife can be exhausting, she isn't very clean, leans on me for ever decision she ever makes, like every decision. I think I'd get a new gf or a couple new gfs. I am not a terrible looking dude, but nothing great either, make good money tho. I got some hobbies I'd love to spend more time on. Been sleeping in my own bed, separate room, for years as well.

Will you talk to my wife and get her to agree?

Thanks! How long would you have to be retired for that to be accepted? And at what age? Or does that not matter?

Mostly the lack of all intimacy, emotional and physical. Also I just want to do whatever I want and not have to tell anyone what I am doing and why. If I want to go to California for a week in the winter just to get away, I want to do that, without having to clear it by someone. Idk. Also, have you ever gone 10 years without sex, it becomes pretty prevalent in mind at that point.

The problem here is that if one of the parents makes hardly any money, the costs go up a lot. As soon as that parent starts making even marginal money, the costs are reasonable. That's why the example you choose, where the lower parent makes 6 figures (almost double the average income by the way is not a great example). If one spouse makes $120k and the other makes 0, in my state atleast, you owe $1500 a month.

A lawyer should be able to help you with that. They shouldn't advice you to make motions that have no chance at success.

Totally agree with you, I won't give up anything I am not court ordered to. I am.just giving some reference as to what I think is reasonable. Also, I'd never want to live in that house again anyways. Hopefully, I can get 50% equity in the house more of cash or stock assets.

I get what your saying, I have already decided I am going to start making up for lost time in the bedroom, I'd feel better about it if I leave my wife. She would never go for it.
