Ugh god getting the tube used to be the worst for this and then you have to change your route so he doesn't know where you live. Leave women alone on public transport FFS.

Tolstoy's wife edited all his books and wrote them all out for him before they were sent to the publishers. I'd wager she deserves at least 50% of the credit for his novels.

Qlso, how many men would be excited about being able to have sex if there was roughly a -10% chance of having an orgasm? Like, fantastic, I can have sex with any man, most of whom don't know what they're doing and apparently the majority of whom don't see me as human. Wow, deal of the century, guaranteed orgasms with that combo. /s

I'm concerned with why women stay in abusive relationships but only because having that insight gives us the tools to help women to leave. My focus is on understanding how to help women. I don't need to understand why men are abusive- if they are they should face legal consequences for their actions. I don't give a shit how sad he is, or how difficult his life is, there is no need for understanding because there's no mitigation for being an abusive twat. Let men deal with shit men, I'm not going…

Exactly, my husband and I play games but we'll play maybe an evening a week which means a game lasts months. It sits amongst a whole load of other interests in our lives. His friends who consider themselves gamers will play 100s of hours a week. Anything to that level of obsession, even healthy things like exercise, become unhealthy.

So true. I got the FDS mentality with dating by my mid twenties, I'm still fighting my pickme instincts at work in my mid thirties. I guess I gave fewer shits about finding a man than building my career...

Let's make it clear from the start - these are not normal men who snap, these are men who escalate but the media like to pretend it was all out of the blue because until that point all his evil was hidden behind closed doors. The Hart brothers have dedicated years of their lives to fighting this "nice family man who snapped" crap after their father murdered their mother and sister. They've pointed out that all the people who the media quoted as saying he was a nice guy barely knew the family. Th…

For a few years I was in a job that required me to move every 6 months. I was dating for fun during this time but always, always would make it clear that I was leaving in X months and wouldn't be continuing past then. Every single time with a week to go I'd get these wild-eyed declarations of love. Fools didn't love me, they just didn't like that I was the one with the power that was moving on.

I don't think women have to be doing something with the mindset of "I want to attract more men" to still be doing something due to growing up in a society where we are constantly told "you are more valuable looking like x because that's what men find attractive."

Tbf, these just sound like scrote comments and as I've got older I just dgaf about what they think of what I choose to wear. For me what's harder is being told that if I want to get paid like a man I need to act like a man and ask for a payrise and then getting penalised for doing so because men are confident but the same behaviour in women is arrogance. Or how men can be a leader, but women are snooty bitches. Or how expecting my male colleagues to take on an equal share of the team admin they …

Yeah I'm calling bullshit here too. At school photo days it was nearly always male photographers, with family photoshoots it is frequently male photographers. This "discrimination" against male photographers does not exist. He definitely did something that got him kicked out.

I mean surely the whole happy ending of Juno is Jennifer Garner getting rid of her loser can't grow up husband and realising she can get her dream life without him. Even watching as a naive teenager I realised that Jason Bateman was a creep who blamed his failures on his wife rather than taking responsibility. When he starts flirting with Juno its just the worst thing.

Why the hell is she engaged to and living with this complete nut when her son is just 2 years and 4 months old? Single Mum 101 is do not introduce partners to your kid for at least 6 months. And Single Mum 102 is there are nasty predatory men out there so you need to be on your guard to protect your kids. She firstly should never have moved in with him so fast and secondly should have left as soon as he said he resents a baby. Goddammit, women do not get to be this pickme when there are kids inv…

Here's the thing- if you as a man want to go with the ACTUAL traditional expectations of men and are committed to upholding your side of the bargain then I have no problem with that as long as you're clear with your future wife about expectations from the start. I know a few guys like this and they are gentlemen - they go out to work and then their money is genuinely joint money that their wives manage, they treat their wives well and with respect, appreciate the work of raising children, do the…

I think the story goes that basically because Medusa was raped in Zeus's temple she was considered to have desecrated it and the rest of the gods expected her to be punished. Athena couldn't refuse but Medusa was one of her priestesses so she tried to give her a gift whilst not obviously going against utter wanker Zeus.

Nah Athena gave her the gift to protect herself - any man who dares to look at her turns to stone. Unfortunately she underestimated how much that would piss off men who think they have the right to look.

It was also based on how long women continued having babies for. So a woman at 32 having a baby was probably on their 6th baby - no wonder they "slowed down" after that. Jesus, I'd be telling my husband to stay away from me too.

I make my husband feel special all the time because he is special and treats me well. If you want to feel appreciated, do something your woman appreciates. If you want to feel like you're an excellent catch, be goddamn amazing. You want to get pats on the head for the bare minimum? Go back to Mummy and hopefully she'll also tell you to grow up.

I do not get women like this. I went on one single date with a guy from work before someone gave me the heads up he was married. I still feel guilty about it and we didn't even kiss. Jesus, where is the female solidarity?

Women need way more warming up than men sexually so God knows how we got to a situation where men expect regular blow jobs but won't repay the favour.

The Sun and The Daily Mail headlines do not speak for the British public. Most people I know don't have an opinion on Kate's mum, even if the tabloids try to foist one on us with their usual shit stirring.

Not only the oldest daughter but also the oldest cousin of a whole rabble. I used to get left "in charge" at 8 years old when my Nonna popped to the shop. The other kids were not yet 2, 3, 5 & 6. Seeing how young 8 year olds are now terrifies me to think what could have happened.

There was that comedian who did a routine that for women dating was about meeting up with literally their biggest statistical threat, and how it was the equivalent of men going on a date with a grizzly bear and being like "I hope this one's nice".

When this was initially reported they had to close the comments on Facebook because a LOT of women were reporting he'd got previous for assaulting girlfriends. That poor woman - no-one deserves what happened to her, the sentence is a travesty.

His first wife heavily implied that they purposefully used IVF because he only wanted sons. I mean, thank God, imagine that man as father to a daughter.

Honestly if I had a daughter and the father of my child suddenly started saying about how worried he was about the world for women now he had a daughter I'd never forgive him. It drives me mad when I hear men do that. Like you've had a pregnant wife who you share your life with but you've never actually listened to her experience? Bastards.

Yeah I'd also add that I'm tall and flat chested and he always used to admire busty girls when with me. The new girlfriend was petite and curvy and he was telling her that he liked "skinny model types". Total bustard.

So true - in uni I dated a guy for 6 weeks and he lovebombed me for the first month and then treated me like complete shit. I broke up with him after he'd agreed to meet me one night and just never turned up. It turns out he'd met a group of friends including his ex who he had made out was the perfect girl. Anyway, roll forward a few months, I'd blocked his number and basically ignored him. Another girl had started seeing him and basically started drunkenly crying on me at the bar I worked at th…

What I've noticed about the women I know in the fire service and military is they are a lot more dedicated to maintaining their fitness because they know they have to work for it. A 40 yo male firefighter is probably getting tubby because he can still lift the required weight and that's enough. A 40 yo female firefighter is in the best shape of her life.

I've read stories from women in England in WW2 that said they had so much freedom to go out after dark because there were so few men. Basically when all the men came back they were like "oh yay you're safe, but I kinda miss having a good job and being able to do what I want without worrying about men".

Despite the lack of political alignment on this sub, I've seen FDS being explicitly called out in line with the new moderating guidelines. It's obviously crap and LVM getting triggered but, let's be honest, there's a heck of a lot of them here on Reddit. Have you had any conversations with the moderators?

When my Aunt left the hospital after an operation she had this very specific list saying: full bed rest for 3 days, then light dusting but no standing for more than 15 minutes... all the way through to no vacuuming for a full month. I was horrified at the sexism of it until she explained that loads of men will expect their wives to get straight back to chores, so a doctors list forbidding activities is the only way they get left alone.

Nah she knows he's abusive so she's been really careful to try to avoid the rage. That's why she's now going quiet and avoiding him rather than screaming at him. I only hope she's formulating a plan to get out of there ASAP because he's going to escalate.

A five year old who has been raped needs serious medical attention at which point it should be reported to the authorities anyway. The fact that she still has the choice of telling the authorities or saving her marriage means her kid has not seen a doctor which makes the whole family utter scum. What's the betting that this "traditional" family also ends up thinking the girl is damaged goods when she's older and therefore not wife material?
