Yeah, cant do that big dog. Your bonus is a marital asset just like all other cash and property until divided up by the court. Shes entitled to half of it, essentially. This will all come to light in discovery. That being said, if you spent it all on home improvements, then no big deal. It just increases equity which will be split up anyway. Taking your bonus and throwing it in an account she doesnt have access to is another story altogether.

Posting something disrespectful about me on any social media with the goal of scoring internet points is a one and done boundary for me, and I have always communicated that to any woman ive been involved with. I encourage others to set a similar line in the sand with their wives / girlfriends. You let them get away with it once and it will happen again and again. Sorry you had to tolerate that shit dude. I would have had papers drawn up the next day.

Cool story. Let me fix it for you... A husband is not entitled to his wife's body. Agreed. Women who have sex with thier husbands even when she doesn't want to is commonly referred to around here as Duty Sex. Ask anyone here, that is not something we want. If the above is true, then the following must be as well... A wife is not entitled to her husband's resources, provisions, or protection. It's almost like two people enter a relationship because they both get something out of the arrangement. …

There's nothing inherently wrong with the lifestyle. As long as it's confined to the bedroom and non-child related time / activities. However, people who "think" they are into this often behave inappropriately at the completely wrong times. All in an effort to somehow convince themselves that they really are into it.

I have a couple of very close friends that are married and deep, deeeeep into the dom/sub lifestyle. I've never once heard them use some 8th grade bullshit terms like that. Don't sweat it. She's doing it on purpose. And making a fool of herself.

Most men would be livid if they knew what a racket the porn industry is. Do we actually think porn producers want us happy in our relationships and sexually fulfilled? Of fucking course not. The industry would go tits up in the blink of an eye. Literally. Instead, they propagate porn addiction, mental illness, and sexual function disorders. Porn gives men unrealistic expectations of sex...most of which women want no part of when it comes down to it. Do you know how many women have told me that I…

No down votes from me, brother. I'm with you 100%. We have, from a scientific standpoint anyway, known about the poisonous effects of porn on the male brain for decades. Shit, when I was a psychology major in college 20 years ago I took a class on human sexual psychology. My professor spent a week about how porn turns the male brain into mush...and is the cause of 80+% of male sexual dysfunction such as erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, performance anxiety, and libido misalignment. I …

Well, my ex-wife ran her business bankrupt and into the ground. She lives in a 700 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment, when we used to own a 2800 sq ft new construction home. Last I spoke with her, she had plowed through most of the $400k she got when we sold the house. Still unemployed and single. The guy she cheated on me with kicked her to the curb a couple of months after I busted her. So yeah, I'm definitely better off even though I'm the one that initiated the divorce. Count me amongst the 10-20%. …

I tried this...even hired an appraiser that was a friend of a friend, a guy who also had just gone through a divorce. I gave him the whole wink wink "work with me bro" in a very subtle manner. The guy flipped out, essentially told me to go fuck myself, then refused to appraise the home. Just saying, be a little cautious about how you approach this. Didn't end up mattering much, interest rates and home values had gone up so much, I had no interest in almost doubling my mortgage payment to buy her…

I was helping my girlfriend at the time clean up her house in preparation for Thanksgiving. Keep in mind, we had never had an argument, and she had always been respectful and pleasant. We had plans for me to move in with her and had been discussing that up until this next thing happened... She apparently did not like how I cleaned the …

$140k cash, a paid off $80k car, and all debts wiped clean. All because she decided to ride another dick for 10 months. The worst part was losing my home that had doubled in value and had a locked in 2.9% interest rate. Now I rent in a tiny town out in the country with a new 90 minute commute to work. It was and still is all worth it though.

My ex wife recently came out to a show I was playing with my band. She totally tried re-creating the night we first met 18 years ago. When she realized I wasn't taking her home with me this time, she asked how I expected her to get home. I grabbed her phone and said "let me show you how uber works" and called her a ride. I couldn't stop smiling until I went to bed much later that night.

Your son is 26, in the prime of his life, and is shacking up with a post-wall woman about to turn 40? He's being 100% manipulated by her. How do I know? I was in a similar situation at his age. Convincing him of this is going to be difficult, if not impossible. I know nobody could open my eyes to reality until it all came crashing down around me. Good luck to you.

I recommend waiting a while. I jumped back into the dating pool about 3 months post divorce just to get my feet wet and get used to dating again after a 15 year marriage. Unfortunately I met someone pretty incredible just a couple of weeks into dating. I say "unfortunately" because while she was an amazing person and we got along perfectly and had fully aligned interests and beliefs, I ended up wrecking the relationship due to issues from my marriage that I had not fully healed from. Ouch. Well, here again that needs to be more defined. Listing a house for 70k under comps will usually result in a bidding war. Do you have to take the first offer at asking?
/r/Divorce_Men25/03/23 11:02 PM
4

How do you know the market price of the house? Did you have an appraisal completed on it? By it's very nature, the market will determine the value of the home when it goes on the market. Your selling agent will use recent and nearby comps to estimate a listing price, but if it goes for more than asking or less....well, that's what the market determines the value to be. I would ask the judge to grant you 90 days to list and close the house. This will give you a couple of weeks to tune it up, get …

In a no-fault state, all it takes is one spouse to believe that the marriage is irretrievably broken. The fact that you do not agree does not matter. Just sign the papers as given unless you want this to drag out.

My ex wife and I did this for about 5 months. It surprisingly worked out well. We laid down some ground rules (nobody but mutual acquaintances allowed over and only with prior agreement, no sleep overs, no boyfriends/ girlfriends allowed in the house under any circumstances, clean up your own messes, etc.) and we both stuck to them. Our schedules were fairly offset, so time interacting with each other was fairly minimal. We would go 3 or 4 days at a time without actually seeing each other in per…

You could probably make a case for her fraudulently opening these accounts using your name, or wasting of marital assets. I would ask your attorney about this. EDIT: Once this divorce is done, freeze your credit. You don't need her opening more accounts later on under your name.

Pretty standard stuff here. Women cannot be happy if things are not changing and moving forward. While men can bust their asses and be happy to sit back for years to enjoy the fruits of their labor, women always want bigger, better, faster, louder. Take my ex wife. This is a cut and dry situation. The marriage should be in the honeymoon phase at this point still, instead it's in the death spiral. Depending on the state, an annulment would be best. Worst case scenario a marriage under a year will have both OP and his wife walking away with whatever they brought. I would cut and run....chalk this one up to a bad decision and move on with life.

What banks give these women that kind of purchasing power??? Absolute insanity. I will say I had my suspicions many months prior to the actual discovery of her affair. However, I'm a firm believer in giving people just enough rope to hang themselves. I like to sit back and see exactly how far they will go to fuck you over. Interrupting someone while they are screwing you over will just make them better at hiding it.

A personal anecdote.... I too, had done a fair amount of reading before it happened to me...while attempting to repair a 14 year marriage. I know ILYBINILWY was a thing but wasn't expecting it, until the final conversation began. As we were talking I started to get a stronger and stronger feeling that those scripted words were about to depart my wife's lips. Sure as shit she uttered quietly..."I love you, I really do...but I don't think I'm IN love with you anymore." I took a moment as I process…

Appreciated man. I'll likely be hitting you up at some point. The book will be self published and will be available on Amazon for Kindle. I am hoping to keep the price under $7.

It's pretty wild that it so common for women to fall back on what is, well let's face it, a complete bullshit statement. The early numbers are pretty telling and support my hypothesis. Over 65% of divorced men that have responded so far were on the receiving end of the speech before divorce. Less than 10% of men that have been given the speech have had their marriages survive, so far. Less than 10%....let that sink in. This by no means takes into account of marriages that continue after the spee…

Ok interesting. Was there some reasoning you were holding back from her, or was this precisely how you felt? No worries if you don't want to answer.

I interviewed a female attorney...35 yrs in family law. She essentially admitted that the family law firms lobbied law makers to keep and maintain our antiquated spousal support system and to adopt no fault divorce laws over the last 30 or so years. Your thinking is definitely on the right track.

This kind of self serving behavior is totally out of line. Considering that nearly all states are no fault states, the only reason to go through such effort is to save face. Like destroying your family for a new lust interest isn't enough damage to your soon to be ex husband, we have to make him out to be the bad guy as well. This shifting of blame theme demands more attention.

Exactly, and I have a few chapters devoted to this. Society is simultaneously trying to emasculate men, while continuing to hold them to the provider/hunter standard of decades past.

Good point, and one that I personally subscribed to before I got the ILYBINILWY speech. As I started doing preliminary research and interviews for my book, I was shocked about how common it was for a woman to drop this speech on her husband near the end. Early results of this poll show over 50% of men were on the receiving end of this speech, which is even far more than I was expecting. I'm excited to see how this plays out.

How much do we want to bet that OPs wife has told him at some point "I love with you, but I'm not in love with you." I'd actually like to know, for research puposes.

I'm sorry you are going through this man. However, there is a silver lining here....she has totally communicated her intent and given you a huge heads up. Now it's up to you to swallow your pride and recognize it for what it is. OP, you just got the "I love you, but I'm not in love with you" speech: also known as ILYBINILWY. I always hate to be the one that says this, but your marriage has been over for at least a couple of months. You just didn't know it. Go ahead and search reddit for ILYBINIL…

I may not have conveyed this point very well, I admit. The Ukrainian woman has made friends in the US pretty quickly and spends time with them regularly. She is traditional in that she doesn't go on multi day vacations with them without her husband. That is her choice as he would gladly let her go and trusts her. The Japanese woman is much more introverted and is admittedly having difficulty making friends. There's a bit of a language barrier at work here as well.

Where did I say anything negative about having cats? I simply assumed (as you have been doing this entire time) that you own one or more. You cant help but be offended can you? In fact, I would argue that you likely seek out things to be angry about. I feel sorry for you. Good day.

Lol. You still don't get it. We could talk about sketchy men's vacations but that's not the topic here. Again, go scream at the sky elsewhere. Your cries fall on deaf ears here. Tell your cats I said hello. Good day.

I see you're still at it. Injecting your own feels into this...when clearly she states that she defers to his judgment. She is traditional and you seem to have an issue with that. She is free to live life as she chooses. Nobody handcuffed her and dragged her to the US. You are free to be angry and yell at the clouds elsewhere. Good day.

I see you are attempting to build an argument based in alot of your own assumptions. Nowhere did I say these women have no lives nor did I say they have no personalities. I could go on a 5 page diatribe about how the Ukrainian woman has started her own business or about how the Japanese woman quickly took to a translation career and is making more money than her husband. I could also detail thier personalities but that's more information than an internet stranger needs or deserves to be frank. H…

They ended up getting married and she moved to the US. She's insanely gorgeous - like something you wouldn't think exists in real life until you see her in person. She works ou…

No. Her gut hangs down past her knees. She could fly away with those arm flaps if she didn't weight 500+ pounds. I bet her heart is the size of a basketball. Her cholesterol is probably close to 400. I wonder how much insulin she's on? This body positive movement is no longer grounded in any shred of reality. These days I just ignore it.

WA state here too. We ended up selling the house (luckily nailed the peak of the market) way before settlement date. After all was said and done $700k was sitting in escrow waiting for us to finalize the divorce. As I was getting my ducks in a row before filing, I leveraged our savings account and paid off every cent of debt we had. Only left $30k in savings which the temp order had us split 50/50. You know as well as I do that $15k doesn't get you very far in WA. That juicy $350k of her money s…

The minute she moved into the spare room she gave up all the perks of being married. This includes being courteous and cordial to her. Stop it. She is not your wife, she is now your opponent in a very expensive lawsuit. Treat her as such. Get a lawyer and stop discussing the divorce with her.

Easy. He used county tax records to cross reference the address I was sending her alimony checks to and found that the address was a house owned by her boyfriend. He then sent his receptionist to camp outside the house and witness both my ex and douchebag leaving and coming home together. In the end, our petition to terminate alimony was a bit of a bluff and we did not have all the evidence that we would need to take it in front of the judge. Luckily she must have come clean to her attorney and …

Quite likely. My ex SIL is an insanely jealous person. I wouldn't doubt if she was out to put an end to her sister's good time.

Very similar here...but all we would really have to do is show that she is receiving mail at the same address, then petition the court to subpoena her and the guy for a copy of the lease and proof of payment of rent for the months that she had been there. My lawyer went with the "threaten and see" approach. Luckily that worked and she caved after only a couple of days.

It's pathetic. Like she really thought that she could move in with a dude 10 days after we divorced and I wouldn't find out for 4 years?? "OH he won't find out and the judge can kiss my ass." Dumb bitch. And she thinks I can't figure out 2+2=4? If she's moving in with a guy 10 days after we divorced (21 days after closing on the sale of our house) you can't tell me she wasn't fucking him for months before I filed for divorce. I might be dumb but I'm not stupid. I cannot believe I let this woman …

There's no provision in the decree that alimony would be reinstated upon her breaking up with her new boyfriend. My lawyer said it would not be possible as well.

In WA state here too. You're probably looking at 3 yrs of maintenance/alimony. Have her income imputed to reduce those payments. You're looking at a 50/50 split of all assets. You're going to get bent over on child support unless you are awarded custody.
